981  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Just double it - double your Bitcoin in 4 business days on: June 06, 2014, 08:45:05 AM
So far so good.. I don't see why so many people bail and scam hosting this? If they're in it for just the coins still keep it legit but take a certain % txid or simply deposit from another address to take advantage of there own system? If it dies out refund slightly to the last deposit's and keep % to yourself to cover server operation and time and begin a new round i guess? Or should i wakeup too myself and learn from my 2.5btc of lose from ass bandit scammers this doesnt happen?

Lets say they let me deposit one satoshi.

Over the first week it becomes 2 satoshi.
On the second week it becomes 2^2 = 4 satoshi
On the third week it becomes 2^3 = 8 satoshi

Now , after I leave it for 51 weeks , which is around a year , I decide to claim my payment.
They owe me 2^51 satoshi * 1/100,000,000 satoshis per Bitcoin = 22.5 million BTC.
That means , even if one satoshi is constantly doubled and reinvested each week , by the end of a year they will have to pay more than the entire Bitcoin economy will ever produce.

The only way they are able to repay is by stealing money from the next person. Sooner or later , when deposits slow down and many withdrawals are due , they will just shut down , like every other Ponzi scheme.

I've been getting steady payments back so I'm happy thus far. Good job!

I don't understand people who gets upset:

1. This is a gambling sub-forum - meaning, you gamble with your money - including in ponzi schemes, double your money and anything else. If you had a bad experience and want to warn others - great! open a thread about it.

2. Only experience leads to the right to pass judgement. So far this plan is making money.

Being righteous is fine if you got any ground to stand on. Not really here.

Cheers!

On a normal gambling thread , odds are stated and everyone knows what they are in.
Ponzi schemes say that there is a guaranteed chance , which is fraud.

Outside of the forums , if you start a casino , you can gain wealth. If you start a scheme bearing likeness to that which was run by Charles Ponzi , you serve time for fraud.
Even if you think people getting upset when seeing fraud is bad , go tell that to the judicial system of your country.
983  Economy / Gambling / Re: Where are the EV+ casino games? on: June 06, 2014, 08:33:06 AM
Well , I first expected it to still work , because you could just bet at 90% with 0.1 BTC over and over.

0.1 * (1.1)^25 = 1.083 BTC

So , taking the same percentage of 90% chance of winning,

(90/100)^ 25 = 7.17% of winning

What you said makes sense now that I have calculated it , but why does this happen ?

You have a lesser chance of winning and also a lesser amount of winnings , does this mean a bet with lesser chances of winning is always better ?

It's because when you accept those odds and gamble you effectively reduce your bet by 1% (this is true over an n case scenario where n approaches infinity). Hence, mathematically it is better to bet in smaller amounts as you 'lose' less from the edge. You don't notice this as in comparison to the number of bets you make the losses you get from the 1% are tiny. Maybe after something like 50 million bets that 1% would be clearer but over the short term variance wins out.

So , if you are betting in an attempt to win something , it is best to bet all you can afford to bet at once ?

Does this imply that the martingale strategy is worse than a normal strategy ?
984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you USE your BTC? on: June 06, 2014, 07:05:48 AM
Only one restaurant in my entire city accepts Bitcoin and it is really far from me.
Dubai has such promise for Bitcoin , when you include the plan for free public wifi by 2020.

I primarily spend my Bitcoin on online goods , mainly games and gift cards.
No physical goods or fiat exchanges yet
985  Economy / Services / Re: Professional Promotional Videos. on: June 06, 2014, 06:46:41 AM
If I used powerpoint animations , and video-taped the whole thing it would come out better.

I'd suggest you offer a free service or a cheap service , it will help you get jobs from people who do not need to much quality , while giving you experience.
986  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 1 BTC bounty for cracking bitcoin wallet on: June 06, 2014, 06:36:08 AM
As long as it is 10+ characters , nobody is going to break it soon ever

12 alphanumeric characters is safe enough to withstand an array of computers all attempting to crack it and 13 characters could probably handle any technological advances for the next half a century.
987  Economy / Gambling / Re: Where are the EV+ casino games? on: June 06, 2014, 06:17:02 AM
What does generally a pretty bad idea mean ? As far as I can understand , the house edge should be equal at all levels and that would just be a lot less fun (as you have no chance of winning something substantial) , with the same amount of risk.

Is my understanding wrong ?

If you want to win 1 BTC, you could:

a) risk 0.1 BTC at 9% for an 11x payout, or you could
b) risk 10 BTC at 90% for a 1.1x payout.

In each case you expect to lose 1% of the amount you risk, so b) costs about 100 times more than a) in terms of the amount you expect to lose, while only having a 10 times better chance of success.

That makes 90% seem like a bad deal compared to 9%, even though they both have a 1% edge.

Does that make sense?

988  Economy / Services / Re: Genesis-mining.com || Signature Campaign on: June 05, 2014, 09:14:57 PM
What rep are we talking about, here? They are pretty new around.

They have to pay between 25* 0.05 and 25*0.15 BTC for the first month. This is between 1.25 and 3.75 BTC.

Now , lets have a look at their site. They sell three packages , whose prices are a bit under 0.5 BTC , around 2.5 BTC and around 11 BTC respectively.
Their package pricing is extremely large in comparison to their signature budget and selling a single diamond package would add funds equal to around 4 months of a signature campaign.

Assuming they have already set up the infrastructure for these rigs , it would be a bad idea for them to skip out after the signature campaign as they would doom the rest of their website.
989  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitFloss.com Flaunt your bitcoins! Facebook->Bitcoin Account on: June 05, 2014, 09:07:31 PM
"Sashito" is actually Satoshi , Satoshi Nakamoto not "Sashito Nakamoto"

Currently the site is rather funny , with only one person with total wealth 0.0005 BTC Tongue

I will keep an eye on it , seems like it is going to be the site of the newbie wannabes who consider themselves rich with their few bitcents.
990  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Collection of good Bitcoin faucets on: June 05, 2014, 09:03:46 PM
Badly designed.
You can 'like' or 'dislike' a site as many times as you want.
That means you need 0 effort to manipulate votes.
991  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crowdfund a bitcoin tattoo, "I am holding" on: June 05, 2014, 09:01:27 PM
There is a typo in title , you misspelled 'hodling'
Correct it immediately Tongue

Also , I'm pretty sure any Bitcoin enthusiast tattooist would do it for free/minimal fee.

992  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet.com - NEW- instant deposits | bitcoin sportsbook and live dealer casino on: June 05, 2014, 08:43:47 PM
Well , they will pay you the 100 BTC if you get it.

But as I calculated here :- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=629828.msg7153910#msg7153910 , the chance is so minute that they have lost an average of 3.5 satoshis by running this.

There are over 14,089,600,000,000 distinct possibilities which you could choose

Another simpler explanation is if you tried one possibility every single second , you would take over 440,000 years to guess all the possible combinations.
993  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Premium x.BitcoinWallet.com usernames: edward, forum, wedding and dozens more! on: June 05, 2014, 08:39:39 PM
I've not even heard of this website before today...

I'd say you close this offer for some time , until that gets a bit more well known such that even free usernames will be worth it...
994  Economy / Gambling / Re: ENTRIES NOW OPEN! WIN 100 BTC | Cloudbet World Cup Bracket Challenge -free entry on: June 05, 2014, 08:15:40 PM
Well , lets forget rollover , lets say they remove it.

Let's say a complete dummy bets , randomly choosing everything.

You have to choose runner up and winner of each group. That has (4*3) combinations per group , totally (4*3)^8 permutations , 429,981,696 possibilities.
Then we have to choose the winner of each game , 2 possibilities ^ 8 games= 256 more possibilities
Then we have to choose the winner of each quarter finals , 2 possibilities ^ 4 games = 16 possibilities
Then we have to choose semifinal winners , 2^2 = 4 possibilities
And finally , the finals with 2 possibilities.

This becomes a total of 14,089,600,000,000 possibilities approximately.

Now , lets assume that 5000 people guess it.

There is a 1/14,089,600,000,000 chance * 5000 = 1/2817928043

Now , lets take the average amount of Bitcoin they lose.

Bitcoin they lose if someone gets it correct * chance of it being correct = 100 BTC * 1/2,817,928,043 * 100,000,000 satoshi per BTC = 3.54 satoshis

My calculations point to the fact that this competition will cost them an average of 3.54 satoshis. (not including rollover)

Tell me if you find any mistakes in my calculations Tongue
995  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Bitcoin Dice Script PHP Only 0.005 BTC on: June 05, 2014, 07:55:07 PM
3$

Seriously guys , if you need a demo to buy a 3$ script , you really shouldn't be thinking of starting a gambling site...

Just take a gamble. I'm pretty sure nobody would scam for 3$ and you can ask him to go first if you have a trust rating or two.
If you are thinking about buying a $3 script, you really shouldn't be thinking of starting a gambling site...

Well , that makes more sense Tongue

3$ were paid in order to remove another scammer from the market , so thats good ?
996  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bashar Assad wins Syria presidential election with 88.7% of vote on: June 05, 2014, 05:44:12 PM
Still not as bad as General Sisi winning the Egyptian elections with 96.9% of the vote.

I would still prefer the secular military dictator (Abdel Fattah el-Sisi) anytime over the democratically elected fanatic Mohamed Morsi. At least the minorities (especially the Copts) will be able to live without any fear.

Hmm, I don't think it's as easy as that. You say Sisi is secular but that only means he doesn't care if it's a Muslim or a Christian he's oppressing . Sad (and frequent) as it is, foreign media played a huge hand in demonizing Morsi.
997  Other / Politics & Society / Re: you're choose prabowo or jokowi for PRESIDENT INDONESIAN on: June 05, 2014, 05:29:22 PM
Jokowi, he's been a great governor. When he was nominated back in March, there was a tremendous response from the markets, and if I'm not wrong, the currency rose as well.

He's exactly the man Indonesia needs to get the bureaucracy working and the economy back on track
998  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ HIGHEST SIGNATURE PAYMENT ON THE BOARD - UPDATED - RitzGrandCasino.com ★★★ on: June 05, 2014, 04:34:04 PM
So is this campaign still running or not? If not, which one is profitable to join?

Our affiliate program is open.

It's Just like having your own casino without the overheads!
No outlays, No headaches.

You just send the players and you make 25% on the casinos profit.
You can even use your own templates with our back end.

Some affiliates are already making a lot more with this then they did with our signature program.

Read more about it here:
https://www.ritzgrandcasino.com/affiliates.php

RitzGrandCasino.com

The new plan seems pretty conservative albeit attractive.

Nice idea. However, I'd suggest locking this thread and opening a new one. This current one has too much unnecessary information and posts that are no longer useful.

Secondly, I'd suggest to modify your affiliate program to make it more friendly to the referrer. The current program seems too complicated requiring you to get a large amount of referred users as well as needing majority of them to be active. This discourages using an affiliate link in the signature.

Finally, you could include some signature and banner links to make it easier for a user to start referring.
999  Economy / Lending / Re: [REQ] 0.04 BTC loan for 3 days, return 0.05 BTC on: June 05, 2014, 04:11:40 PM
I was PM'ed by the OP for a loan.

I guess it was apparent I'd give it to you after you I posted twice why it was a bad idea to loan to you.

Get decent collateral and stop sending unsolicited PMs.
1000  Other / Meta / We need an app for bitcointalk on: June 05, 2014, 04:02:58 PM
We really need a reliable bitcointalk mobile app. I've seen a mobile site but it offers limited functionality. The only app I can find has generally bad play store reviews and tonnes of reported bugs.I don't really want to input my username and password onto any of them either.

Should the forums divert funds into an android and /or iOS app?

How often do you use bitcointalk on your devices and how much would you use an app if it was created?
