Just tested the new firmware on an S4+, fan control works.
982  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CloudThink NEW 8TH/s Imperator Bitcoin Miner - Apply for a FREE test unit on: August 03, 2015, 04:11:57 PM
So this is pretty much an impossible miner to run at home with that kind of power draw from one socket. I am confused on how you expect there the reviewers to run it as most don't have custom power configurations for reviews.

A 240V 30A circuit will do the trick with room to spare. Not too hard to set up for home use.
983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 03, 2015, 02:33:45 PM
So no one knows how to setup API access on a Neptune?
984  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will the new invention by Intel & Micron help PCs to replace ASIC again ? on: August 02, 2015, 03:45:40 PM
This is irrelevant to mining. It's purpose is storage, not RAM. That said, I want this tech in my PC and laptop!
985  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Repasting sp20 spoondolies? on: August 02, 2015, 03:34:17 PM
The chip that I removed the heatsink from, on the SP20, would not reach > 0.60V until I applied epoxy glue to the glue spots and pressed it until it stuck w/o wobble.
The 2 screws do a crappy job of applying uniform pressure on the die. Air is a great thermal insulator.

Ever seen a heatsink bolted on to a large die GPU with just 2 diagonal screws?

Once the 2 screws are completely tightened you're saying there isn't enough pressure on the die? Would it be possible to add a washer to each screw between it and the top of the heatsink to increase pressure?
986  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Spondoolies SP20 - malfunctioning unit on: August 02, 2015, 03:20:36 PM
$400 is way too much to risk on a broken unit when working units can be found for $400 to $500 with a bit of patience and luck. These things don't just fail randomly, and they run vibration free so I doubt a wire popped out of place. I'd be willing to risk $200 shipped to try to revive it, but not $400.

Let me know if you want to take me up on my offer.

I'd also like to try out the modded Titan software.

Does anyone know how to enable API access on a Neptune? Trying to get it to cooperate with cryptoglance, but it seems like the API is on lock-down or something.  Undecided Didn't have any problems getting my Titan's API working.
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash multi-algorithm solo mining pool [BTC/LTC/DASH blocks found!] on: August 02, 2015, 12:06:07 AM
Are there any plans to improve the solo mining service? I'm a big fan of it, and have found quite a few LTC blocks. I'd like to see better graphs, more details on blocks found (specifically orphans, which don't seem to be listed) and it would be nice to be able to tell which worker under an address found a block. Perhaps a block counter? The website also needs work to display properly on mobile phones.

Anyone at nicehash monitoring this thread?

People working on this project are currently on vacations. They will reply once being back.

Anyone home yet?
989  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S4+ isnt turning on and they are under 1 week old. Help! on: August 01, 2015, 05:00:47 AM
The S4+ PSU won't work under 205V, so try it again on your 240v circuit.

Hi cryptoglance,

Thanks for getting back to me quickly. Seems the Neptunes are rejecting external API connections:

"Cannot connect to miner API. Please go back and verify IP address and port."

IP and port are fine. I've added:

Code:
  "api-listen": true,
  "api-port": "4028",
  "api-allow": "W:0/0"

to the miner's config, which should be all that is needed.  Undecided

Just installed this awesome app for the first time today, thanks dev! Also picked up the Android app. So far I've added some SP20E, S4, S4+, A2 Terminator and KNC Titan rigs, all of which work flawlessly with the program.

I'm only having one issue, and that's getting KNC Neptune rigs to work. Nothing I try seems to let cryptoglance communicate with the rigs via API. By default, they come set with "api-allow": "W:0/0" which should allow everything to connect on my local network, but no dice. I've also tried "api-allow": "W:0/0,W:192.168.1.100" and "api-allow": "W:192.168.1.100", also tried each without write permission but nothing seems to work. Any idea what I need to do to get these Neptunes to play ball?

That's a great idea!!! Thank you very much kingcolex!I will make a wtb as soon as i can.

Unfortunately, Titan controllers are not compatible with KNC's other controllers. I doubt you'll find someone with a spare Titan controller to sell.

Do you live in Quebec, in the greater Montreal area? If so I could possibly help you.
993  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Most efficient SP20 settings? on: July 14, 2015, 01:21:21 AM
The only important variable for underclocking is the wattage. The per ASIC voltages are nothing but starting points when the ASICs fire up. If you want to limit voltage, you'd have to use "Voltage Limit (0.580-0.790)", but there's absolutely no point in that. Just use the watt settings.

All of bitmain's hardware comes configured with their pool info, mining for them. If your first unit didn't, it was the exception the the rule.

It makes sense, removes a potential variable if something isn't working. I leave my miner details when I send anyone hardware, so 1) I know when the hardware was turned on, 2) that I know it works on arrival and 3) so the customer knows its good.

I do too. When I see a blip on nicehash, I know everything's OK.

I do aswell, part of it is I hope they pick same pools as I know it's configured right as far as url and port.  One of the biggest things I do is make sure to include IP address on a piece of paper when I sell a piece of gear.

I write a little quick start guide and it almost always saved me from having to mess around with helping set it up.   I only had once with a completely new miner that I had to put in a hour or so to get it to work on their network.

Just set the rig to DHCP before shipping out. If they're too dumb to get it going, I probably won't waste my time helping them.
