981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is a 51% Attack in Cryptocurrency? Explained W/ Bitcoin & Zen Double Spend on: June 18, 2018, 03:30:20 PM
Again my favorite one Crypto channel, I always watching your channel. But this time I was on vacation, and my internet connection isn't fast enough for streaming your new videos.  Cheesy

Yeah, basically it was a bit impossible 51% attack happened on major coins (at least nowadays) with a lot of spread miners, but what impossible on this earth, right? It was quite hard for personal miner nor even pools to reach more than 50% of Global Hashrate on the major coins network (that was an expensive thing to do)

Just for example :  https://www.crypto51.app/

There you can look for  a collection of coins and the theoretical cost of a 51% attack on each network !

The big four only available under 15% (on NicaHash). Will be better to do solo mining instead of Attacking the network  Grin. IMHO That was a good reference, by the way.  Wink

haha thanks my friend thats a big compliment, happy you enjoy my work! Hope the vacation was great Cheesy

Unfortunately it can still be extremely lucrative to attack the smaller coins, even ZenCash which is not even a top 100 crypto on CMC netted them over $600,000 USD
982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is a 51% Attack in Cryptocurrency? Explained W/ Bitcoin & Zen Double Spend on: June 18, 2018, 03:29:11 PM
All POW Coins can be affected  of an 51% Attack !
There are Sites you can look what it will be cost for do an Attack on an Coin !

Just for example :  https://www.crypto51.app/

There you can look for  a collection of coins and the theoretical cost of a 51% attack on each network !

I dont advert for this Site or for 51% Attacks , i just wanted to let you know how easy it will be to get an Attack on an Coin !

Regards Lafu

Yeah when it is broken down so simply on that site (doesn't include ALL factors but a decent baseline) it is . . quite alarming Huh

Why not ask the girl behind you if you can borrow her hair dryer(preferably if it have switch for hot/cold air)so you dont have to bother actualy shoping anything?I use this system for all my rigs and its working nice so far, just hold gpu vents when you point air on them so they dont spin to fast
The airflow is way too weak to remove the dusts from confined spaces and corners.
Compressed air is the best choice, but for a practical solution, yes Hair dryer on cold setting will do the job.

But any of these can't remove the stuck dusts on the fan's surface, I'm using cotton swabs dipped in alcohol to clean them thoroughly.

This works wonders for me too, is there any good data AGAINST doing this? With the evap. time on alch (personally use 70 or 90% ipa, can just grab it at a local CVS walgreens etc) it is a much better bet than water or water+detergent etc
985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How To EASILY Clean Your Mining Rig - Cleaning 1 Year Old Miner +Any Other Tips? on: June 18, 2018, 03:23:26 PM
I would suggest investing in a DataVac electronic air duster instead of using canned air. More effective and you don't have to keep buying canned air. A small air compressor is another option, but it's less convinient and easy to overdue it with too much air pressure. You also have to be aware of moisture and condensation from using compressed air.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16896367002&cm_re=duster-_-96-367-002-_-Product

With any cleaning method involving air be sure to keep the fan blades from moving as it's easy to damage them from spinning too fast and also shattering the blades off if it hits something while it's spinning.

Yeah I was looking at that or the metrovac -- but I used a metrovac in my detailing days and my god does that machine pierce your ears (AND WITH SUCH A SMALL PACKAGE lol)

Unfortunately my air compressor broke in our last move, but like you stated the issue w/ moisture in it. I never had a water trap, did not really need it & was a basic model
986  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CryptoBridge Review & Tutorial - Up & Coming Decentralized Crypto Exchange [DEX] on: June 18, 2018, 03:20:49 PM
Decentralized exchanges are really the future, and centralized exchanges are aware of that like bitfinex and coinbase. It shows their potential.

it is only a matter of time before they all roll out DEX versions of their own exchange -- they wont sit idly by  Huh
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What is a 51% Attack in Cryptocurrency? Explained W/ Bitcoin & Zen Double Spend on: June 18, 2018, 01:36:06 AM
What is a 51% attack and why is it only possible with Proof-Of-Work cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and ZenCash? Lets review how all PoW coins can be the victim of a double spend hack and how much money it would take to attempt this hack which just generated over a half of million dollars for the attack.

Diversification and for poor people, a JOB.

a kid I went to school with was living the high life, bragging about his crypto gains etc for several months . . boasting all over social media etc. Turns out he is now over 20 grand in debt, left his decent job to ride the crypto wave, and well . . he is now facing a hardcore correction in life Huh

This also sums up a lot w/ a simple graph

I'm sorry to hear that. I forget not only investor and trader who will frustated because this bad market condition. The miner of course get an impact too because beside market crash, they should pay the cost of an electricity too. The only way for miners to return to sustained profits is if Bitcoin prices rise, or some miners turn off the lights, lowering competition. History shows that while the latter is possible, it's unlikely. In fact, those who have plunked down millions of dollars to build their Bitcoin mining operations seem to be playing chicken in the hope that competitors will flinch.

Unfortunately it seems that difficulty is ever rising, many people believe that price goes down and so does difficulty. . However when it is market wide that is simply not the case. Plus the introduction to more ASICs & FPGA further increase diff. esp. for gpu miners

Even at mining at a slight loss, it is best to hold and use fiat as Suslived also said
991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Surviving a Bear Cryptocurrency Market as a Mining Farm Operator - June 2018 on: June 14, 2018, 01:17:51 PM
Ah great job as usual Vosk. I envy you as you seem to always make the right videos at the right time!

Talk about timing, which is actually very important in video production, but also in crypto mining. Time your coin dumps boys. Makes no sense to cash out now. Just use your fiat to pay for those electric bills if you really need to. An uptrend should be just around the corner.

thanks my friend Cheesy - I just get lucky sometimes xD

I'm with ya! I have seen a lot of miners get burned and it really comes back to two main things that burned them

1) They mined a speculative coin and lost big time (zcl->btcp was the largest scale recent one, and this depends on how you navigated this)

2) Constant cashing out to pay electric & to live etc, personally for me this is peanut butter and jelly season lol, hoping we still have a big year in store for us. .

haha you might be right for this summer!  last summer I was digging away (literally) to get the shed setup for a farm!

Just when there seems to be hope, you wake up and see CoinMarketCap bathing in blood as all of your favorite cryptocurrencies lose 5%, 10%, or 20%+ of their value within the past 24 hours. These losses severely impact mining rig investments, like our mining farm here at VoskCoin.

just bad people that did chargebacks to cause suspicion and investigation of your account.

What I thought were chargebacks were paypal initiated. I'm still not clear if they're chargebacks. It would be a highly ironic twist if none of them were charge backs and after 6 months when they release the funds it turns out there were zero issues... I think i'd sue them.

They called all of the customers who ordered asking them questions about the product.. Where did they find us? When is the product shipping, etc.. But to talk to the actual owner of the store? No... I have to hear about this from my customers because they couldn't be bothered to ask me for additional documentation or discuss it with me.

I have been having similar nightmares with paypal, even after being with them for over a decade. .

Time to usher in the crypto revolution. . as if it hasn't already begun!

My company moved millions of dollars through PayPal, and has for years. I reached out to two of our human reps with Senseless before this was even open. Everything should have been up and up, but...

Of course this is crypto - people play dirty. All that has to happen is Bitmain places 200 orders and then fraud chargebacks them, complains it was a scam etc.

Your orders are safe, guess we’re just sitting on that risk for a few months.

Has your company moved any mining rigs or simply a large volume of money? I never had any paypal issues until I began selling mining rigs / asics
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - ASIC algorithm now cracked by GPU miners? Big profits? on: June 08, 2018, 06:39:32 PM
For the first time an example of how a GPU miner destroyed the profitability of an ASIC.

Uupool: 6.44331024 BTM per Khash/s

The ROI of B3  is near to 2 years.  Cry Cry Cry

ironic isn't it?

Been watching this thread and have to say the requests to send a trusted member I thought was crazy, if I was apart of the "group of developers" and people were asking for free hand outs for trusted members I would simply say hell no, because we are a "group of developers" not trusting this board either.

HOWEVER, tin foil hat on I thought the domain was a little odd since its a sub domain and contacted the provider. Turns out that this is on a free 30 day trial basis and are not a paying customer to https://www.webasyst.com/

Why was a proper domain not paid for with SSL certs? I can understand to an extent since you are a "group of developers" and I'm sure change could have been scrounged up to pay for it if you truly believed in the product and are not scamming but it is looking more like a bait and switch to me.

The request for review / promo units are to prove that one this product even exists and to get it into the hands of someone who won't just say it is awesome because he got it for free lol

EVEN THEN, it is not fool proof as they could send a review unit . . great review etc. . open orders take a TON of money. . and disappear

It is basic marketing and a simple expense for any legitimate company

UPDATE:

We need to go through all of our orders and support tickets, wait for some lingering payments, but it appears as if we've sold out of all of our devices. If stock is freed up from unpaid, canceled, etc orders we'll again open up sales for the last remaining few devices. Those of you with outstanding invoices will have a few days to pay them. Anyone who invoiced by bank transfer I'll try to contact before cancelling your order. I'll also give a few extra days as I understand bank transfers take time.

I thank you for the vote of confidence and the outpouring of support.

well that was fast! can you elaborate on the setup of your fpga
