little pico's are awesome. some cheap ones on ebay under $30
Finding a good reliable one.. not so easy. the one you quoted above, the op is not yet selling.

@yslyung - won't release prices until someone else does for the pico... not holding my breath

@Yun where can I buy the best risers? can't find a source.
143  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS - 8,000 MH/s of ETH miners on: March 04, 2017, 07:03:24 PM
not including power, one could see almost $140k a year from this, not counting difficulty etc.
Hmm

im waiting for a decent miner oriented pico psu adapter for my server psu/breakout board too.

needs:
6 pin pcie input
4 pin cpu power cable (long)
sata power lead (long)

Sata is nice of course, but I'd be fine without, simplemining on a usb.

Agreed they look to be crap, it would be nice to see someone build one designed to take a pci-e power plug and be good to go, would make using server psu awesome.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 04, 2017, 04:53:50 PM
Those pico are pretty awesome and a wicked solution honestly.
I'm still searching for good pci-e risers.
lots of pico options out there but 1 month an din china is a bit much.

Not seeing a lot of info on use..
it's a 4 bay but comes with 2 drives? can it be expanded? can drives be plugged into the usb ports for further expansion?

Hawkfish, myself and a few other friends literally lost hundreds of dollars if not close to a thousand on crap risers that almost burn down our rigs.  This is when Hawkfish said Enough is Enough and decided to sell risers.  The best way to say thanks, is by supporting our community and VENDORs that Support US well.  Very happy to hear that you're going to be up to 60 rigs by Summer.  This means you're going to be TheFLYINGTurtle vs TheBottomTurtle with your 60 rigs!!!  We're here if you need anything or have any questions.

Where are these risers being sold at?

Loving this, all the info you give has made me realy want to get into gpu mining and use Simplemining.

Tried to find those risers you said are sold by HAWKFISH007?
can't find the thread? Happen to have a link to those risers?
Thanks

They have a really crappy ordering system. couldn't even get a quote for shipping need to wait on them.

Looking forward to these usb hubs.
I only ordered two sticks for supoort. but still need to find a hub for them for when they arrive
152  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: PCI-E board idea, Want some help getting it to production on: February 26, 2017, 03:26:34 AM
I realise that was a bit hard to read.

Simply put
A pcb with pci-e on both sides to be bolted to a case to act as a pass threw
Act as a "pass threw dummy board"

If possible to double the internal plugs. even better.
153  Bitcoin / Project Development / PCI-E board idea, Want some help getting it to production on: February 26, 2017, 03:00:09 AM
Good day
I have an idea for a board to make building GPU rigs easier.

This would ideally be used for people putting gpu rigs into 4u racks.

I want to be able to cut a hole, or use one in the back already there, mount it for 7 external ports and 7 or 14 internet (splitter version would be nice)
So that internally of the case you could run all the power lines for the gpus.
Then externally you can mount your server psu and run the wires to the outside of the case.

In theory it's a double sided pcb and 14-21 pdi-e ports on it with heavy trace runs.
Super easy to build and nearly zero prototyping really needed.
But I would like a well built stable version. instead of a home made crappy version if that makes sense?

Can anyone out here easily produce these? Or maybe help me design and find somewhere who could make them. I cold possibly see taking these to production on a smaller scale and selling on here if we could find buyers.

Or someone could steal my idea nd produce them. If so I wouldn't mind a few freebies for the idea.

Are you looking for some sort of pci-e extender?

You could build one if you had to...it's simple tech.
Very simple i know that
But I'd like to buy quality built ones.

I'd like these for server cases.

I'm definitely wanting to get into this when I get home.
I'd like to get into gpu rigs in 4u servers.

Would powering the gpu's off server psu be best and small psu for the mobo? Or do you guys simply use higher end psu to power the whole rigs?
157  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Bitworks 8 GPU 4U rack mount mining rig - 235Mh/s ETH on: February 25, 2017, 10:04:17 PM
How does this work?
$3500 miner... calculator tell's me $1800 profit in a year if everything stays even... Who would possibly buy this? Sad

too expensive i rather go cloud mining with metizer cheap hashing power with free 100 gh/s

Don't get me wrong I love the system
but for a near 2 year roi IF rates stay the same and difficulty... no idea how we could do that.
and seeing as I don't see great leaps in gpu's coming any time soon..

It is a very pretty system haha Smiley

Awesome and inspiring.
I have this mobo sitting here.
Think I could run 4 cards on it?

Also is anyone selling gpu rigs without a massive markup?

I've tried looking back but cant find the links?
Looking for a hub. Preferably from amazon canada? Or newegg.ca would be great
