601  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN launches 4th generation Bitcoin mining ASIC: BM1385 on: August 23, 2015, 05:44:05 PM
I have mixed feelings, I'd love to see them launch a rack mount, self contained unit.
Although I have the power supplies and knowledge to build what i need, It's a pain in the ass and messy lol.

A plug and play S4 style unit would be awesome.
602  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN launches 4th generation Bitcoin mining ASIC: BM1385 on: August 21, 2015, 04:54:34 AM
But when will have an actionable 10th miner?!?!?!?!
603  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: interesting issue on blockchain.info on: August 12, 2015, 05:16:18 AM
Is it possible.for them to send me unconfirmed btc? I'm not great at blockchain back logging. I guess I need to play around.
But they are not usable. And it's pretty annoying
604  Economy / Web Wallets / interesting issue on blockchain.info on: August 11, 2015, 06:07:45 PM
So my hot wallet for mt ATM is always being a bit wierd..

If I view the wallet
https://blockchain.info/address/1LCfc8z9CzMHa5Tu56akzsb2QYFeHKtDhH
I see one wallet balance
If I view unconfirmed transactions
https://blockchain.info/address/1LCfc8z9CzMHa5Tu56akzsb2QYFeHKtDhH?filter=7#
It shows a higher BTC balance, and shows a bitcoin transaction with hundreds of comfirmations under that page.
If I goto confirmed transactions it actually shows a negative balance.
https://blockchain.info/address/1LCfc8z9CzMHa5Tu56akzsb2QYFeHKtDhH?filter=5#

I've noticed a few times where a confirmed transaction has shown as unconfirmed.
So from what I can tell, looking at the confirmed page, my wallet is actually negative.

Not sure what's going on with this, but it's annoying as all hell tracking my balance and ensuring the machine is working properly. as it would seem that old unconfirmed transaction is not usable by my ATM.
https://blockchain.info/tx/9c1406a5d55d71ff96a5a53adc175e996f52d5a0b127df5ccb5d169444c2294b

2.85 BTC
862 confirmations and counting.

Any idea what's going on here?

Thank you

Edit:
I should note these are coming form an exchange account, so you can see multiple transactions posted to more than one place, they all appear unconfirmed.

Edit2: after a bit more poking it would seem they are paying a low fee. but why would a 5 day old transaction still not be confirmed in the wallet as usable?
605  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] DIRECT FUND Mining Contract Offer Starts Monday August 10th! on: August 08, 2015, 04:49:47 AM
so to buy, 1th right now
1,000 GH would be $550??

with an est, monthly return right now of $81

So roughly 6.7 months on ROI.
assuming a bit of difficulty increase, let's say 7 months on the nice side.

So if nothing goes wrong. you get 5 months of profit. so maybe $400

so that's a 1.72 return.

Let's ignore the fact that blocks will half, difficulty will increase, and a crap load more power will come online.
You need to hope the price of btc increases

Or just buy $550 of bitcoin and hope it goes up.

Seems like a pretty weak investment. with high chance of 0 profit. and possibly even a loss of money?

Why would anyone do this?Huh
606  Economy / Securities / Re: Canadian Bitcoin ATM Looking for CAD Investors on: August 08, 2015, 04:37:41 AM
This looks like an awesome thing, but how do you deal with volatility in BTC's price? If you don't have constant turnover, you can end up buying BTC right before it plummets, or sell it right before it shoots up in price. How do you negate these effects?
Higher end ATM's do not sell bitcoin,
They hold a bitcoin float in a hot wallet and are tied directly into an exchange, if the ATM sells 1BTC it will ship that to the persons wallet instantly, and at the same moment it pushes a buy order on the exchange to purchase the same amount of btc, than sends that to itself.
There is no risk based on movement within BTC.
607  Economy / Securities / Re: Canadian Bitcoin ATM Looking for CAD Investors on: August 08, 2015, 01:07:27 AM
I'm aware of you Shawn, been following your story a bit (I'm a fellow Canadian, Victoria BC, eh?)

what are your financials for this ATM looking like? That would be first and foremost on my list of things I would have to see even before considering any investment.

Also, I have people in Winnipeg who could check things out to make sure everything is on the up-and-up. I have already heard good things about you, but sometimes little things make a big difference and it is good to see things with your own eyes (or a pair of trusted objective eyes of a friend)

some of my Winnipeg friends may even be interested in this venture too. it all really depends on the financials (historical AND projected) and making sure you aren't in some sort of crisis situation personally... no offense, but its something to make sure of before investing in anything.

That all makes sense.
I'm not up for posting financials publicly. and to be honest the old system BitAccess offered was one hell of a mess for tracking profits, but recently they've switched to a daily automated email of profits, which I could include you in, would send you the email nightly on what the machine pushed. they than send out monthly (ish) emails for calculations of the adminstrative fee they take, which would not effect the investors profits.

I'm fine with meeting someone local, I wouldn't expect anything less honestly.
Obviously the more capital we have on the machine the better.
I've had scenario's where two users have emptied my exchange on a friday night of a long weekend. and than I'm really stuck when it comes to banks etc.

I have a VIP account with Quadriga and have access to direct deposit large amounts. The issue comes up when the banks are not open.

No crisis here, just sick of having to run to the machine every day or other day to move the float Smiley.

As far as the machine, it's solid, very little issues, can't remember ever having to reset it.

Thank you for your interest, look forward to hearing from you.

608  Economy / Securities / Canadian Bitcoin ATM Looking for CAD Investors on: August 07, 2015, 03:38:13 PM
Good day,

My name is Shawn and I run the Winnipeg ATM.
I have recently bought out my partners and in doing so spent a lot of my capital.

So I am looking into getting CASH investors.

A bit about the ATM.
We have been established for 1.5 years.
Located centrally in Winnipeg, open until 1am.
BitAccess Buy/Sell BTM.

What I have and need:
- I have a 10.5 BTC on the BTM hot wallet.
- I have a 9 BTC balance on the exchange account
- I am looking for $12,000 CAD investment from investors.

Why:
- Due to the amount of time involved in emptying, going to bank, moving money to exchange etc. and the downtown of the banks, i.e. weekends, holidays, after hours.
I constantly run into the issue of my machine running empty and not being in a position to quickly restock it, as the ATM and exchange account do not have the buffer to keep up with higher demand and the time required to move funds to the bank.
- A larger cash float will ensure a more stable service and ensure I am not turning away potential customers.

How:
- Looking for cash investment, We can accept this in either BTC or Cash, but it will be held on it's cash value, not BTC value.

Where will the money go:
- It will NOT be spent.
- I'd like to have $2,000CAD sitting in the machine at all times in $20 bills to ensure we can always buy BTC back.
- I would have the rest remain on the exchange, being cycled out of the exchange and into the ATM as cash. Than back into the exchange through the bank. Or buying BTC for cash.

Payment:
- Your initial investment will stay the same, and can be withdrawn at anytime with a few days notice.
- I will be paying 25% of the machines base profit to the investors. Divided out to the investors on a monthly basis, based on your % of investment.
- We can payout in BTC, or if Canadian, through E-mail Money transfer, or PayPal if you wish, but you would assume the fee's.

My machine has seen fairly steady purchases, but I have had customers with large orders turned away due to the machine balance being low.

If this interests you, please PM me for more details, what sort of info you would need about me, etc.
As I am not interested in posting all my DOX info publicly or machine stats, for obvious reasons.

I'd love to see this all be one investor for simplicity, but would be okay with dividing this up to 6 people, or $2,000 per investment.

Thank you for your time.

Shawn

609  Economy / Services / Looking to Spend $250 to update BitTeller.ca on: June 03, 2015, 06:33:41 PM
I am the owner of BitTeller.ca
Our last web designer took off with the server/ design etc.

So looking to hire someone to rework the wordpress site, give it a business look, integrate more graphics, BTM details.

Insert some youtube guides on bitcoin etc.

As well as link to some articles.

Interested? My budget is $250, I'd be giving you admin access. Would need to see previous jobs you have done, what you plan to do. etc.
We are using a BitAccess BTM, and our business colors are the same as theirs.  As well as a spot to show out current BTM buy/sell rate

Thank You

610  Economy / Services / Re: Needing Logo Design For Airsoft Team Patch on: June 03, 2015, 06:28:22 PM
You guys are missing the important part, I'm wanting the body of a Halo Spartan, with the helmet of a 300 spartan,
I've gotten one submission over PM which is really close to what we are wanting.
611  Economy / Services / Needing Logo Design For Airsoft Team Patch on: June 03, 2015, 01:16:54 AM
I'm on the hunt for a new patch design for an airsoft team.

"Spartans"

The concept is master chief from halo, with a spartan style helmet on such as from the movie 300.

To be printed to patches, so can't be overly detailed, needs to look good with basic line's, excessive detail will not show on printing.

I've don't this before where people submitted and I picked my favorite and paid.
Bounty is $100CAD in bitcoin.

Feel free to post publicly on here or pm me. I have no issue with water marks etc. for the sample.

Final product I would need in high res psd. as it may be blown up for a banner. etc.

Our motto is. "Ante Ad Mortem Quam Turpem"

Need to say Spartans on the top.
And have space to leave a 3 digit number.

Airsoft, so think military style, round is preferred but something can be custom cut.

Thank You!

Wow that's crazy. Maybe they were tricking her into laundering money?

That's my concern, less likely to bounce, mor elikely they used her as middle man for an illegal transaction

617  Economy / Trading Discussion / Local person Scammed and used my ATM :( on: June 02, 2015, 07:54:13 PM
Background
I own Winnipeg's original ATM, it's a two way machine from BitAccess.

What happened.

Yesterday I stopped by the machine to empty it, and a young women was trying to scan a QR Code.
I told her to zoom out, it was pixelated.
So she got that to work than proceeded to insert $1900CAD into my machine.
Pressed finish.

While she was using he machine I had some general inquiries, asked if she knew much about it, If she minded me asking what she was doing it for, her quick answer was "For my work".
So I left it at that.

Once she was finished, I went to open the machine, than she suddenly became more talkative, I guess realizing I owned it.

So here's her story, please, How many red flags do you see?

She was hired by a company out of Miraco*, To be their Canadian Financial Rep.
They were moving a company office into our town and she was the first hire.
She took it upon herself to call the building they had apparently rented an office in. The building told her "No company by that name is moving in, and we have no open offices", She proceeded to contact the company again, they said "Not sure why they would say that, we move in July, maybe it's a privacy thing".
They then wanted to test her ability to handle funds and different currencies.
So they asked her if she had access to purchase and send BTC, she had heard of my machine. so said yes, but clearly knew nothing more about it than that.

So, They send her an Electronic funds transfer of $2000 CAD, Told her to take her fee of $80 and Buy bitcoin to send to them, at a QR code they emailed her, To prove she can use both methods.
After this was where I'd started speaking with her.

** end her story**

Now, had she told me this prior to putting the money in and clicking send, I would have stopped her.  RED FLAGS everywhere.
After the fact, I told her that sounded fishy and to call her bank and see what they say.

Today I got a call from her, she had started a report with the police, and they said it was obviously Fraud. And had told her to call me to see if she could get her money back.
I may be inclined to refund the access feee, for machine use. But frankly, this women had gullable written all over her. They saw it from Miraco, had I not spoken up she'd likely be till all happy.

That being said.

Have people seen this? She said it was sent as an EMT.
Which CAN be reversed, if sent form a hacked account etc.
The other option is, they just used the poor women to make an illegal transaction.
She is unsure if the bank will reverse the funds. Or if the RCMP or some other agency will come knocking.

Here's the transaction ID: ff7145605763de444302d2fd06226cd40c5732568159075ba1de580aaee445dd
And the wallet it was sent to, 17wzu7UDtyRRGWXqHUa8BvY53mJvKGAr7m

Which was clearly done by a few people and than cleared.
My kung foo for searching the blockchain is not very strong. but maybe some bored individual can find something I can pass on.

Although I feel this is gone.

Right now I'm in talks to ensure they don't think they get to come after me for refund.

Mostly posted as a story, and heads up. Although, So many read flags, I'm not sure 99% of people would fall for this, but it clearly works...

Thanks for listening.

EDIT:
To Clarify, I feel bad for the gullible person, but feel they should of known better, put no blame on myself, the BTM or Bitcoin. Just an interesting story.

This is pretty much why I created http://ibit.io.  I run it full screen (F11) on a raspberry pi connected to an old desktop monitor.

Nice,
would love to see it shows days high and low, as well as trade volume. Be an awesome add-on
620  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Nice! Bitnodes Hardware - run a full node! on: May 29, 2015, 11:45:23 PM
If you added a "screen saver" that was a current BTC price ticker, along with high/low and volume, for selected exchange and currency.

This this would be 10 times more awesome!
