322  Economy / Scam Accusations / carlosiness Is officially a Thief on: December 20, 2016, 02:34:51 AM
I was looking for a switchable PDU
He messaged me, had one, $130CAD which was what they went for on ebay abouts,
He had good status, and at the time of the deal NO negative trust.

It wasn't a lot, so I didn't bother with escrow. and I'm not crying over the money just pointing out what happened

In the bellow image is him messaging me, he never quoted so it made it a pain in the ass Smiley

And the transaction of the BTC I sent him.

He hasn't responded to me since tuesday but has been online every day. I can now claim scammer.
Probably bought someones account.

Ah well

See our exchange rules

''First we received payment then do exchange"

Is the only actual rule you have posted. lol
324  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I want to buy Bitcoin for interac e-transfer on: December 20, 2016, 01:14:41 AM
Scam
Ya, any answer to ID etc. no joy.
A hacked Canadian bank account can be used to send these funds pretty quick if you havn't got proof of their identity, and the banks claw it back super fast, with no chance to even dispute it.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: December 19, 2016, 10:36:21 PM
Cool software, te tiered pricing scheme is pretty frigin aggressive, Really no way to get all the features without dropping $200?

This is pretty much the reason photoshop and other software is pirated so damn heavily.
All for supporting, but even buying the cheaper version to handle a small number of miners, the software is gutted.

Very sad to see Sad

Edit: and you don't accept crypto payments??? Sad
The feature levels are structured in a way that aligns well with what most users require, but it may not be a perfect fit for everyone. The Enterprise Edition (up to 40 miners, $200) that you bring up is actually only adding the Security and Multi-user access control features. That feature is almost never used if you have only a few miners, but instead if you have a larger number of miners where more people are involved.

So if you don't need that feature, but want everything else, you can aim for the Premium Edition (up to 20 miners, $100). Then it's of course possible to discuss what a good price level is. I typically bring up how much people are spending on hardware, like $1500 for a single Antminer S9, where 20 of those will be $30000. If you can afford $30000 for the hardware, paying $100 for the software to monitor them isn't a big deal. If you run 20 computers for GPU mining the hardware cost is of course much lower, but $100 should still be affordable in that scenario.

There are many happy users of Awesome Miner that think it's worth every penny, because the software helps them to save more money than what they payed for the license. Also keep in mind that Awesome Miner is a quite specialized software, it doesn't have a market of millions of people like other software do.

Bitcoin payments were supported earlier this year, but I had to discontinue that support. The payment processor I use right now have plans to support Bitcoin payments, but it has been delayed. I do constantly remind them because it was promised to happen during 2016. I do want to support Bitcoin payments on the web site again. If you are interested in paying the software with Bitcoin, please contact me by e-mail instead and we can sort it out. Thanks for your comments.

The remote control feature is what intrigues me. I want to setup a home pc I can remote into for making changes and use this software, as I assume I install the base software on the home pc and can sign into it from another pc anywhere? But I'm still a big confused on that part of it.
I will support the software, and the features are fine, the number of miners is a bit low though. For what people may use.
326  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: December 19, 2016, 10:02:15 PM
With the compartively low power density of these boards (compared to S7/S9/Avalon6 etc) they could be made pretty quiet. 6 boards in a 4U would run a bit hotter than an S2 at stock, but since it's adjustable that wouldn't have to be the case.

I think that's the main issue with the latest hardware, trying to cram so much into a small box
bitmain could of released single or dual board boxes, or spread the chips a bit more and had the same efficiency, in a more affordable box, with less noise.

But they aren't in it for the little fella.
327  Economy / Currency exchange / Selling $50 BTC for paypal. Who has the best offer/rate for this? on: December 19, 2016, 09:20:25 PM
Seems the risk is on my side for these types of things, and I've seen paypal at + 10-15%
Would like to find a good reliable source for this.

Thanks
328  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I want to buy Bitcoin for interac e-transfer on: December 19, 2016, 09:14:05 PM
I can't do that much but can help you out, PM me, I've done EMT trades before.
But would need to verify your ID is attached to the account sending funds,
Hacked bank accounts can send these and be clawed back pretty easily/quickly by a bank.

Been there done that.

334  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Chinese police raid miner factories in its oil capital city, 1k+ miners seized on: December 19, 2016, 04:47:46 PM
Any shady cloud mining sites go down recently? lol
Whats the connection of mining sites related into this news? Maybe you are referring that they are running a cloud mining?I don't think so and they don't really matter to build one and as we can see they are using old miners and as mentioned above its more sufficient in electricity since they are using old miners but they will still be facing violations on stealing electricity.

And clearly a joke goes right over your head?
I was meaning that shady places stealing power line up perfectly with those shady cloud mining sites promising unrealistic pay outs, or near zero fee costs for running etc.
335  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: December 19, 2016, 03:39:20 PM
I'm actually curious if an off the shelf water cooling plate or two would be able to be affixed to them.
Hmmm
336  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: December 19, 2016, 03:27:50 PM
As for the server rack solution, same kind of solution could be done like with the S1 boards.

My message in the canada group buy thread:
I wonder if these boards will be able to be installed into a 4U server case etc.. I realize you would need to source heat sinks, but nothing else would really be needed would it?
You could come up with this kind of solution https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=650462.20
Antminer S1's on a rack.

Saw that. Be more interested in a way to do it off the shelf.
Maybe some cut rails the boards can sit in. Which could then be mounted inside anything. Hmm
337  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 19, 2016, 03:50:56 AM
Pretty well how i mine.
Did ine uograde for the noise.
But unless the fw is proven to offer a good reason to try. I leave it alone.
338  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: December 19, 2016, 03:49:23 AM
Pretty sure this question has been answered several times (at least once recently), and when you asked a similar question earlier in a GB thread I responded there too.
Hadnt seen it brought up in here? Been following pretty well for a while now..

If an S3 can fit in a 4U server case then these can also. There was talk about a year, year and a half ago about trying to standardize something like that for more industrial-scale mining with swappable boards. Probably be more fitting discussion for the dev thread than a sales thread though. If I remember, I'll get some measures when I'm at the shop later.

As for bringing it up here. You said this was a betterplace for it.

I bring it up so we can all get a plan to what is needed when these launch.

As for the 4TH statement? The group buy says 4. Not 2... Seen 4 mentioned elsewhere as well.

Thanks

Also, I know believe Lauda is a girl and shall continue this belief.
nope

I reads it on the internets, so it must be true, your silly logic won't change that fact!
340  Other / New forum software / Re: Reply for the trust system? on: December 19, 2016, 02:16:19 AM
If we are keeping the current rep system, which mostly works... although the default trust list is a bit of a thorn in many peoples sides..

I'd like to see a reply section added, for example if someone left Neg rep simply because you hit them. A way to respond with details/link would be cool.
Rather then having to explain the negatives.

I realize everyone will then respond, even the bullshitters trying to cover their ass, but we all know the system has it's issues, this may be a step to help?

I don't see that making a new section is necessary honestly , all what you mentioned should be done within the Scam accusation section (to be more specific , In the thread that the user was accused for scamming or got negative trust for).
Links are seldom given, or not as often anyway so that makes it hard. If the software is being rewritten it wouldn't be hard to add a response to the trust system. maybe so member can reply with it being fake trust, here is link explaining. etc.
