241  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can ASICS kills power supplies? on: January 05, 2017, 03:15:04 AM
miner will not kill it directly
But anything used at a heavy load for long lengths will be at risk of dieing.

server grade psu's are better equipped for it.
but none are really meant to be run even at 80% for months on end...
242  Economy / Trading Discussion / BitTeller.io Has anyone done business with them, or seen them? on: January 05, 2017, 02:36:13 AM
I came across this ATM company.
It's a slick site, lot's of info etc.
But aside from the site, and a few announcement news articles.
There is little on them or anyone having their machine.

They offer instant discount on btc payment, and require it for out of usa buyers?

So it throws some flags at me for being a scam site?

Any input?

Thank you

p.s. I think I picked the right section for this Smiley

If that's what it says, that's roughly what you will get.
Setup on a pool like Slush, do not solo mine.

If you have free power, go for it.
246  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WHERE TO BUY MINER on: January 04, 2017, 01:58:48 AM
Hello to all sorts guys, I wanted to know where I can buy these devices:
antminer U3
hexfury 11Gh / s
redfury 5GH / s
and other miner for bitcoin

Thank you guys!

what in the world would make you want such out dated HW?
If just for collecting old stuff, try posting a WTB thread int he marketplace.

If to mine with, much better HW you can get, like Sidehack for example.
247  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: January 04, 2017, 01:53:22 AM
Only 205 watts per connector - well within the connector specs, doesn't push them anywhere near as hard as the SP20 (which was NOT known for melting connectors as a widespread thing, unlike a couple of the KNC models that wanted to push 300+ watts through them).

Correct yes I think it was more the rated output of that psu, which if used only for the miner would be fine, but if used to it's max output, wouldn't

Either way this has been floating for a while and yet to see a review or post on anyone actually having one??

Yah, dunno seen a lot of vaporware scams popping up.
This has been discussed I believe the power draw over the number of plugs screams fake or fire hazard.

Your posts are really hard to read please slow down a bit...

If you have free power they are workable, find a calculator that fills in the difficulty. and use the TH total you have to calculate.

That's out dated tech, so not the best, but with free power anything can be ran.
252  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: January 03, 2017, 01:31:54 AM
Amazon and eBay are gouging the crap out of folks
I haven't checked out amazon but people are selling these for crazy amounts on ebay. Is it only because they haven't released a new batch in a while? Hopefully they plan to continue with another batch.
Birdie told me announcement soon, about all I know. Maybe tomorrow?

did birdie told you that they will change the warranty from 90 to 180 days and use this to "change" prices?
amazon/ebay pricing tells you something, I believe. It will not be the same, of course, but it will correlate.

Lol amazon and ebay have always been stupid high, can't use that to gauge anything.
Not saying you are wrong, just that those are not markers of a change.
253  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CANADA - SIDEHACK] 20-120GH stick; 700GH pod; 4TH S1/3/5 upgrade kit on: January 02, 2017, 03:40:33 PM
IMHO, this thread should be locked for now (will be fine later on, perhaps) as it pertains to products that were merely discussed and not announced.
Products have been announced.
Pretty sure this thread explains fairly well what it's for.
Not our fault some people don't read and simply make assumptions.
254  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Making server PSUs quieter on: January 02, 2017, 03:19:41 AM
the DPS2000 are silent? you put your own fan, why not use those?
255  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Project] Solar Powered Bitcoin Mining Rig on: January 02, 2017, 03:18:48 AM
Hi, can somebody explain, what is that? Is that thing which are talking about?

Why would you necro bump a thread from 2 years ago?

Solar mining is not possible. well it is possible, but the ROI on it is impossible.

257  Other / Off-topic / Best Massive Raid option for Plex? on: December 30, 2016, 07:31:19 PM
Looking to upgrade my current 12TB storage setup
To a dedicated server setup, Case I have will hold 16HDD's
But whats the best/most stable/expandable option?

I'd like to see redundant raid setup, with expansion options to drop more hdd's and expand the raid.

I see a low of options, but would love your input.
Also like to see something a plex server could be ran on as well Smiley

Thanks
258  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Computer tower case that will fit the R4?? on: December 30, 2016, 07:29:09 PM
I ended up ordering this case

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147157&cm_re=Rosewill_BlackHawk-Ultra_Full_Tower_Gaming-_-11-147-157-_-Product

with the sheer crap load of fans it should work perfectly, and when I am done I will use it as a server case for a massive media plex server, 100TB is the goal Smiley
