Located Winnipeg: Traffic is pretty hard right now to base, it really is based off the news on BTC.
It's in a central location within the lobby of a popular location. Secured with a camera on it.
The machine is also hundreds of pounds. Not a desktop version some one will walk off with.

Is it in (or close to) the Manitoba Hydro building? Smiley

Um. 2 km away or so?
It's at 4 st. Marys rd.

... I was simply pointing out that nothing is safe.
A scammer can get funds back pretty easily.

827  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying BTC With PayPal on: January 16, 2015, 05:42:03 AM
Buying at market price, and we use escrow for both of our safety. The payment will be sent as family or friends

Escrow nor family and friends will stop a chargeback using Paypal.

As a matter of fact "family and friends" will stop chargebacks on paypal, happened to me recently  Sad
family and friends will only stop charge backs if the person initiating the chargeback is honest. If they admit to authorizing the transaction then paypal will not grant the chargeback.

The problem is that a scammer obviously has no problems lying to paypal about them actually authorizing the transaction as they would have had to have lied to you about sending the payment

Simply declare your account hacked or stollen, and they will recover it.

Regardless of method.
Unless the receiver has a throw away paypal they can get funds out of (to somewhere) Than they're at risk.

Your account is high for me, I'd love to get some sort of account as a usa account though Smiley
829  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor wittle miners taking their ball and going home on: January 15, 2015, 07:28:14 AM
If I can buy more bitcoin, with my power usage today, than my miner would produce. Why would I run them?

If a gold mining company was able to KNOW FOR A FACT, today they would spend 10,000 to produce 5 ounces, or they could go out and buy it for less (Or not spend at all) I can promise you, today they would not mine.

We miners are lucky, we know exactly what we will produce (sort of) at any given time Wink
830  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: January 15, 2015, 07:05:49 AM
Damn .... 1 day, 9:46:21
really?

Still not at 1 in 1,000 levels of bad luck yet.  Given slush's stats imply the pool has had ~23,000 rounds (stats say 23414, but I think there's been a few gaps due to db sync issues/bugs/tweaks over the years), it's unlikely this is a record breaker in terms of CDF (hasn't slush had a 99.99, AKA 1 in 10,000, once in the past?).

EDIT:  Now at 1 in 1,000 (or worse) levels.

Wow.... I'm not sure where to point my prism... It barely works anywhere Sad

833  Economy / Lending / Re: Need loan of 25btc on: January 14, 2015, 06:30:30 PM
Okay, so at todays rate we will say your asking for $5,000 est.

Are you keeping this in BTC at all times?

If your flipping this to use for cash, no one will touch you, If you cash out for $5,000 startup. And bitcoin climbs to $400, you would be on the hook for $10,000 plus interest.

More details needed.
MANY more
834  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for an approximate 8BTC loan. on: January 14, 2015, 06:27:03 PM
You need security, no one will take you to court over 1800, so a promise to pay means nothing... Sorry.
835  Economy / Securities / Re: Looking for Bitcoin Investors for Canadian ATM on: January 14, 2015, 06:20:34 PM
Can you give me more details?

Where is this physically located?  What kind of traffic does it receive?

Have you taken safeguards against theft?  Will it be monitored at all times?

How have you secured a stable and constant connection so that upkeep is running full time?

What have you done in terms of licensing?  I'm sure there's many issues regarding KYC.

PM sent with a bit more personal details.

Located Winnipeg: Traffic is pretty hard right now to base, it really is based off the news on BTC.
It's in a central location within the lobby of a popular location. Secured with a camera on it.
The machine is also hundreds of pounds. Not a desktop version some one will walk off with.

Internet is slid, same line as their POS terminals.

No required licensing in Canada. Business name is registered.
Fintrac is implementing a license over time, but has not come into effect yet. I will be applying once this is all settled.

Thank You for your interest.

Original post updated.
With lower prices, Taking the float in BTC would not be effective. 25BTC would not leave much room.
Cash Investing can be sent in BTC and would be cashed out instantly upon arrival.

I'd really like to get this up and running by Monday.

Thank You.
837  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to purchase 4BTC but cash strapped**seller hasn't sent BTC possible scam on: January 14, 2015, 04:24:04 PM
Paypal is not prohibiting digital service. They are just wont cover the loss in this area. Server hosting is part of the digital service.

Any update?
