3261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Campaign With Coolest ETH Rewards in 2020 on: December 15, 2020, 04:47:38 PM
200 ETH pool and one participant got 71 ETH?
How could that happen?
3 participants only?
Will they even continue the campaign with just 3 participants helping them to promote?  Grin

Maybe that's the reason why we aren't heard about this project. If it's true, then lucky are those who participated and got rewarded with such a huge amount but it seems like Op didn't understand the whole system of the campaign because it sounds too good to be true. He should have told us the name of the campaign so everyone would be enlightened.
3262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of fake Telegram groups on: December 15, 2020, 03:25:51 PM
Telegram is the paradise of scammers. Often I get different types of airdrop or any tempting message from scammers.  Sometimes I see that I have been added to different types of fake groups. To avoid all this, we have to control our greed. You can change the telegram setting if you want so that no one else can add you to the fake group.

Telegram has really been the largest place for scammers because they could simply hide their identities and fake everything there to fool people. I have joined lots of fake groups in Telegram before which has been a lesson to me not to be tricked by fake airdrops. I guess the best thing to do is to avoid joining telegram groups if we don't have an assurance if it's legit.
3263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cambodia enacts new laws related to gambling. on: December 15, 2020, 02:16:28 PM
Cambodia wanted to be close in the competition of great gambling countries.Macau is not far from them same as singapore and Philippines so they wanted to get closer to compete with them internationally .

For the Chinese gamblers, Macau is nearby and accessible by high-speed train. On the other hand, Cambodia lies thousands of miles to the South, and is accessible only by air travel. But then there is a generalization that Macau is a highly expensive destination. So for low-budget gamblers, Cambodia can be an attractive destination, if they do the marketing properly.

I think another reason is their government would benefit from it as well. Taxes from gambling has a huge part in a country's economic growth as well as the positive effect of it in tourism which I think is an advantage for their country just like the strategies of the countries that you have mentioned. Despite the struggle of high taxes, the legalization of gambling is still very good news for most gamblers.
3264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🤔 How do you distribute your portfolio? BTC vs Altcoins on: December 13, 2020, 04:22:41 PM
Heres mine. I hold 50% of my crypto asset in Bitcoin. Then the rest is in USDT, ETH, TRON, LTC, XRP, & WAVES. Why Bitcoin? Because it is widely used and accepted for encashing into fiat. I hold alts as it gives higher growth rate of investment.

How many percent do you keep in BTC versus altcoins?

Atm I have 35% BTC then a big chunk of ETH and a handfull of other altcoins (see distribution below)

https://altpocket.io/profile/Octular

BTC feels much safer at the same time as I see a big upside in the altcoins compared to historical levels.

50% of my holdings are also in Bitcoin. I have been doing that for years. It may take a long run but at least I have an assurance that I would gain a good profit in time. Aside from my Bitcoin holding, I'm also allocating some of it for Ethereum and a single part of it for active altcoins. As for me, investing with potential coins that we trust would be a good allocation instead of risking our funds to new coins these days.
3265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting small amounts on a lot of matches or big amount on couple of matches? on: December 13, 2020, 03:07:37 PM
Have variations of bet and bet bigger on matches you are confident with. Betting small amounts on different matches might only lead to a break-even. If you bet on matches that you are confident with with a higher bet amount, you might have a chance to gain profit.
3266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: December 13, 2020, 02:48:16 PM

I thought that it's all final and Biden is the clear winner of this election. But with those suits and formality that Trump is filing, this made other bookies to have a delay for the payment of those Biden bettors.
Just a little more patience for those Biden winners, for sure they'll send the payouts as soon as possible. Other bookies have been doing it, they probably want to be sure that there will be no ruckus if something unexpected happens.

Trump can file a suit but the suit is just an arrogant denial that he is beaten by Biden, they cannot sustain it, he had the money that's what rich dirty politicians are doing, file a suit so he can give his supporters and allies reason to still support him, here in our country, politicians are always in denial that they've lost in the election, they always think that they are cheated.

It's his right, his camp believe that there was a cheating, so they filed a lawsuit, and we don't know what would be the decision for that, however, people believe that Biden won clearly the election and there was no cheating. Talking about being rich, it's not only Trump that is rich, Biden is rich as well because he is a millionaire. https://www.marieclaire.com/politics/a34205042/joe-biden-net-worth/

Despite the clear result of Biden's victory, Trump will surely do everything to support his lawsuit. I don't believe that there has been huge cheating because most people in the US are really against the leadership of Trump.  Every election has this kind of drama because the administration can't always accept their losses. I just hope that this drama could come to an end because those bettors who have their bets for their Biden have been waiting for their rewards.
3267  Economy / Economics / Re: Cause of Covid Vaccine and it's Value on: December 12, 2020, 08:24:05 PM
To reduce the spread of the covid 19 virus, we need a vaccine, and now there are some vaccines ready to be released on the market this coming year 2021.

In my country there are some barangays/places to be vaccinated first. The question is, is it safe? What will be the effect on the person being injected?

You can trace the fear of people to its possible effect. There are people interviewed who really do not want to get vaccinated out of fear. Even me, I have doubt on this vaccine after what happened to the Dengvaxia vaccine which caused the deaths of some children's here in our country.

Aside from the possible negative or positive effect of this covid vaccine, we need to consider also the value of it.

Quote
Pfizer and BioNTech have set the initial price at $19.50 a dose, which comes to $39 per patient (since each vaccine requires a two-dose regimen), in its $1.95 billion contract with the federal government as part of Operation Warp Speed in July. Pfizer and BioNTech, which have developed an mRNA-based vaccine, will receive that amount for the first 100 million doses, pending regulatory approval. Moderna, which has developed a competing mRNA vaccine, received nearly $1 billion from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority and has a $1.5 billion contract for 100 million doses, bringing its price to around $50 per patient or $25 a dose.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/katiejennings/2020/11/17/how-much-will-a-covid-19-vaccine-cost/?sh=c6ef1ba576de

What do you think the price, is that reasonable? Can people buy at that price?

I think only those from the middle to upper class can afford that vaccine. But those in the lower classes and among the poor in the poorest cannot afford it, unless the government buys and gives it to the people for free if they want the country to be covid free or even reduce the spread of the virus.

Since you have mentioned the issue about the dengvaxia, I guess we're living in the same country. People have lost their trust in WHO because of that vaccine which caused a huge number of unexplainable deaths. We can't blame the people who are doubting about the Covid-19 vaccine because they had a traumatic experience with the dengue vaccine. I just hope that the coming vaccine would be safe and affordable for everyone. It might cost cheap for some countries but I guess it would be hard for third world countries to afford it.
3268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many old coins are dead and abandoned by the developer, WHY? on: December 12, 2020, 03:20:40 PM
Let's hope that abandoned coins like Spreadcoin experience revived interest from a new dev team sometime in the future.
Don't expect anything on projects that have died or been abandoned by the team because the team that has left will never come back, even if the brand returns, the rest will not attract investors anymore
old coins that are dead are forever dead

Once they lose the trust of most investors, it will surely be too hard for them to recover again so what they usually do is just to create new projects instead of pursuing the failed coins. Instead of hoping for dead coins to rise back, just move forward and invest with trusted and potential coins.
3269  Economy / Economics / Re: 2021 not Looking good on: December 12, 2020, 01:59:54 PM
Everyone has learned how to adjust despite the pandemic situation that we have right now. Even our economy is starting to get better so I think 2021will be a good start for us. We learned how to cope up with the changes caused by the pandemic so we'll surely move forward this time. Even without the vaccine, I could say that our economy is starting to rise again so let's just all be positive and hope for a better year.
3270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can't always hit the right target on: December 12, 2020, 03:21:14 AM
The word "bounty" means getting paid for capturing or retrieving something right? There is no much difference with bounty hunting on this forum too, the meaning of bounty shows that you can't always catch things right, there will be times when failure will occur but some people wants reward for every single project they promote, even if you are a pro bounty hunter who's very smart at choosing projects you won't always make the right choice.

start acting like a real bounty hunter, if projects don't work out then move on because it's bounty hunting

Bounty hunting isn't easy because, to be honest, it's hard to look for a legit project nowadays. There will always be failures but we should have the positive mindset of moving forward and just look for better opportunities that we could find here. Wasting our time being disappointed and looking for sympathy because of a failed project wouldn't help.
3271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will the current Bull run stop on: December 11, 2020, 06:17:17 PM
current bullrun is very different from 2017. There is way more adoption and acceptance towards btc but it doesn't hurt to be careful. Don't cut your losses because you think its going to be same as 2017, it will not. You have to look at other things such as investors, adoption and overall tone towards cryptocurrency. so far its very positive. when it turns negative, that's when you should hit the sell button.

2017 might be too traumatic for most of us but you have said it right, the bull run now is too different from the last one that we had because there are already lots of improvements and developments these days. Instead of living in fear, why don't we just enjoy the market situation and take advantage of it? The bull run does not happen often so we should seize every moment.
3272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season probably won't happen like the past? on: December 11, 2020, 05:41:03 PM
I only trust top coins these days because they're the ones who follow the Bitcoin trend. I'm sure that those coins with a firm foundation would continue to boom when the altcoin season happens. It's hard for me to trust new coins these days because most of them usually end up the same way.
3274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I quit smoking and buy Bitcoin every week on: December 11, 2020, 02:15:17 PM
I know that it will never be easy because I have been a smoker too and it's a huge challenge in the beginning. It's a good decision because it will benefit your health as well as your savings and investments. Sometimes we really have to sacrifice something if we really want to pursue crypto. You'll surely inspire more crypto users to quit their vices and just spend it to buy Bitcoin instead.
3275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin used by Criminals to sophisticate their footprints on: December 10, 2020, 03:48:04 PM
I am an advocate for Bitcoin and It pleases me to tell people about Bitcoin. But there are issues we need to attend to. Bitcoin was created as a means of payment, and some people are using it for that purpose. Unfortunately, this includes criminals. The rate at which criminals use Bitcoins to enhance their operation and make their footsteps sophisticated is just increasing! Haven't you heard that "Bitcoin is a scam"? This phrase only comes up because people have been seeing Bitcoin used for such purposes. Bitcoin is available to everyone, so how can we stop/reduce the misuse of cryptocurrency? Considering that KYC is not involved because I and some people prefer being discreet about our identity. So, how can we stop this, and I'd still have my secrecy? This is already rubbing dirt on us and needs to be attended to.

I've heard the line "Bitcoin is a scam" from the people around me even from my friends. The reason why they see it that way is that they don't have enough knowledge about it and how criminals have been using it for their own purpose. I think we can't eliminate criminals who are using crypto because most of them are also using fiat which logically means that criminals are everywhere and any kind of currency could be used in both good and bad ways.
3276  Economy / Economics / Re: Currencies worth less than Satoshi on: December 10, 2020, 02:55:42 PM
It's surprising and interesting to know that Satoshi has a huge edge in other currencies. I guess those countries need to adopt cryptocurrency as a currency though we all know that it's hard for crypto to replace a national currency. I hope that more people would be enlightened about the importance and value of crypto as a currency.
3277  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Scammers BTC addresses at iba pa on: December 10, 2020, 02:11:35 PM
3278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Say btc is Not ponzi but its look like ponzi on: December 10, 2020, 02:42:12 AM
I think you still need to educate yourself more about the importance and legitimacy of Bitcoin. A lot of us are living proof that Bitcoin really works and it isn't Ponzi. If you have a bad experience with your past investments in Bitcoin, I think it isn't the Bitcoin itself that you have to blame but the people who scammed you.
3279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looks like another big company will add crypto as payment soon on: December 10, 2020, 02:05:21 AM
It looks like PayPal isn't the only company that's planning to start accepting crypto payments, music and podcast streaming service called spotify is currently treading crypto waters with a new job listing, the full news is in the link below

https://new.bitcoin.com/is-spotify-looking-to-add-crypto-as-payment-method-this-job-offer-suggests-it/

That another good news and I could see it as an advantage because there are millions of Spotify users around the world. I guess they're choosing cryptocurrency these days because they could see now that it's more convenient for everyone to use it as a mode of payment. I'm sure that if it happens, lots of competitors and other huge companies would also accept cryptocurrency.
3280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Altcoin Safe for Investment on: December 09, 2020, 03:56:56 PM
In now days too much Altcoin Project are Launching one by one and all of them claim that invest in his project because we will be successful in upcoming days but in the end they run away and make a scam. They don't woory about people fund and stole them.
So how we can trust on altcoin to give us profit after investment. Because most of them become Scam and Scam. All of them has one Aim how to stole too much fund .
So how we make altcoin investment safe ?

Investing in altcoins has a big risk so it's really important that you'll know where to invest. Choosing top coins would be an advantage since they already have a strong foundation. Always choose trusted coins so you won't get scammed especially by new projects these days. You should always do your own research so you'll know how to get rid of scammers.
