2141  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be patient, don't get discouraged. on: October 24, 2022, 06:37:52 PM
Often times here, some new forum users have been unable to develop consistency in their contributions here mainly as a result of frustration. They abandon their accounts here before they can get their footing and become an important contributor to various discussions, how sad Embarrassed...and how we other forum users have missed out on another maybe perhaps golden perspective.

This is a wake up call to newbies especially, and all those who are considering quitting forum.

-Your opinions are valid and we want you to stay. Big things always start small, don't get discouraged because there seems to be no attention on your post and no merits given regardless of your activity.

-Even if your contribution get deleted and you get criticism for your point of view, don't get discouraged, work on yourself to be better, but still remain yourself.

-If it is taking you very long to increase in ranks and you almost feel like it will not be possible anytime soon, don't get discouraged, you will get there.

It is okay to take some time off, but please do not cut us off from your perhaps golden contribution.

there is a sentence that says; those who want to leave will definitely leave and those who want to stay will definitely stay. those who leave have other goals and motivations in this forum, they only have a goal for bounties and prizes, not want to contribute to the forum, without a bounty they will leave while those who stay are those who want to stay consistent in the forum, build this forum, the goal they are not bounties but make this forum even bigger.
2142  Economy / Economics / Re: Printing of money doesn't make a country rich but to diversify like a person on: October 24, 2022, 06:10:36 PM
Not to say printing of money is totally bad but if not controlled properly it can lead to hyperinflation.

Circumstances that money can be necessary to be printed is when the country is in short of money because they need money to build industries, give loan to manufacturals and small businesses.

Countries starting up like new independent countries can print money to start the economy properly.

I put a little quote in an article I read about the bad effects of printing a lot of money.

Quote
the reason why the state does not print as much money as possible to be debt free. Instead of being free, uncontrolled printing of money actually makes the national debt increase and the price of goods rises everywhere.

not all countries are able to withstand hyperinflation if they print a lot of money, especially for countries whose currencies are not in demand and have few foreign investors. but the dollar is different, it is an invulnerable currency and has many international transactions so that makes it strong even though it is printed a lot, cmiiw.
2143  Economy / Economics / Re: Corruption Should Be Taught From Young Age on: October 24, 2022, 05:44:30 PM
...
However, I believe that if the problem of corruption can be addressed at a young age, every country's degree of corruption will significantly decline in the near future.

Corrupt officials are those who have no morals and did not receive good teachings from their parents when they were young, so when they are faced with money and power, they consider it their personal property.
whatever it is, the first education that a child must receive is about morals and that must be done by parents. I always teach my children not to take the rights of others even though their lives are difficult and in poverty.

2144  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nigerian Leads the Crypto (Bitcoin)World in Africa on: October 23, 2022, 09:18:48 PM

based on data from Finder, Nigeria is the second largest global cryptocurrency ownership in the world after India, it's really surprising to see how enthusiastic youth in nigeria are about cryptocurrencies.
These numbers seem grossly exaggerated to me as I seriously doubt that almost 1/3 of Indians or 1/4 Nigerians own cryptocurrencies. I have no doubt that crypto is popular in developing countries as it helps unbanked people, but I think that all those sites are pulling the numbers out of their ass, or they do a survey on a small amount of people that results in the skewed picture like in that link/image you shared.

data is data, you don't have to think hard about it, I also live in a country far from Nigeria so I'm not sure if the data is correct but what I do know is that the Nigerian people are very enthusiastic about cryptocurrencies (based on that data).
Many people in developing countries (including mine) wish to change their fate via cryptocurrencies, so it's no wonder why countries like India are leading the way, cryptocurrencies are changing the lives of many people in developing countries.
2145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I know about Bitcoin on: October 23, 2022, 08:59:55 PM
I came across Bitcoin on Facebook ads but Ido about it
until a friend of mine who knows about cryptocurrency (Bitcoin) agreed to teach me everything about Bitcoin and how to trade and have my own wallet.

He  taught me Bitcoin as digital currency or online cash that is used for buying products and services and so on.
Bitcoin has been existing since 2009 but I was not aware of it untill 2021.I was having no money to invest after my friend taught me about Bitcoin time and also I was not having a concrete knowledge on it so in the month of May 2022. He has been teaching me. I have gotten small knowledge on it and now I have my own Bitcoin  Wallet.
congrats because you already have a bitcoin wallet and understand using it. because you are a newbie, it would be nice if you read the available rules and guides, so you can quickly adapt to this forum.

it's really good luck for you to get to know bitcoin, I also initially knew bitcoin and this forum because of the teachings and invitations from my coworkers at the old company. until now I'm still active in this forum and have a few satoshis that I hold.

2146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: October 23, 2022, 03:51:39 PM
Taking care of their children is the duty of parents until they are adults and even many parents still take care of their children after they grow up. And if parents can accompany their children well and not set a bad example, they can hope that their children will not do anything bad.

And if their kids start to get addicted, it will be a tough task for the parents to help them out of the problem. Parents should always accompany their child who is experiencing addiction so that his child can understand that he is not alone in solving his addiction.

over time, our human thoughts will definitely form by themselves (all humans experience that) if we don't guide them then the impact on their future is really big, I can't imagine my kids becoming gambling addicts in the future, it will definitely hurt my heart.

Children have become attached to their parents since they were born, even animals guide their children to be able to live independently. Parents who don't guide their children in a good direction can be said to be failed parents.

I will continue to guide my children even when they are married later, I have given a lot of sweat-money-time-sacrifice for them, if they become criminals or gambling addicts, I am clearly guilty.

I appreciate your thoughts OP but I agree with @lovemayfamilis that if you compare this forum to social media then it's not an apples-to-apples comparison, this forum is simpler but more valuable than social media.

I still remember the saying that on social media there are a lot of fakes, you can even look smart in your posts even if you don't, if in this forum we can see for ourselves the comparison and there is minimal falsehood, you can't even make technical posts if you don't master it or gambling posts if you don't like it.

The Nigerian government has indeed issued a Nigerian digital currency (eNaira) that aims to suppress the growth of Nigerian youth who are interested in cryptocurrencies but it seems to be in vain.

I have been experiencing some financial difficulties due to the inflation I explained my situation to my friend about plans on how to secure my Investments
The inflation right now really really has a bad impact on the economy of many people, I'm sorry for what your country is going through.

since I'm already used to the character of saving but have little knowledge of bitcoin and investment in it and my friend introduced me to bitcoins and this forum I'm really glad to be here please what must I know?
it is good if you ask like this from the start. @passwordnow has given the best thread for you to learn from the beginning, many are lazy to read it, the important thing is not to make spam posts, burst posts, threatening posts, or plagiarism posts because it is absolutely prohibited in this forum, the sanctions you can receive are a red flag and your account is banned from this forum.

keep learning because all members in this forum are like that too, good luck!
2150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 22, 2022, 07:16:45 PM
With a 2-0 win over Hoffenheim, Bayern Munich is getting closer to Union Berlin at the top, while Union Berlin will play tomorrow night against Bochum, it's interesting, the German league standings are only 1 point adrift of 1 and 2 standings, but union berlin doesn't seem to be it will be difficult tomorrow night to widen the gap again with bayern munchen, and my prediction tomorrow union berlin will win more than 3 -0 against bochum
Bochum is currently at the bottom of the Bundesliga standings, it will be difficult for them to beat union which is at their best. Bochum's chances of winning are pretty large (around 30% because they are the hosts) but that doesn't guarantee that Bochum will be lucky in that match. it's very interesting to see how union and Bayern only have one point difference, it's very tight.
2151  Economy / Speculation / Re: My advice to you regarding bear markets. on: October 21, 2022, 05:40:34 PM
...

Bitcoin ROI is at 13820.78% right now, cosindering the fact that the price is pretty low right now it can still explode.

Keep accumulating crypto and you will reap the rewards in the future!

today the ROI of bitcoin has reached= up 14000.10%
ATL % = up 29000,20%
ATH % = down 72%

the majority of beginners would expect bitcoin to increase many times over in a short time but they don't want to fight when the bitcoin price goes down. the current bitcoin price is heavily discounted from its ATH, after all, it is a good opportunity to continue buying, don't hesitate or be afraid just because of the volatility of Bitcoin because market bulls will happen later.
2152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 21, 2022, 05:26:49 PM
Yesterday match between Barcelone and Villarreal was so interesting since the whole three goals were scored in 7 minutes and then nothing happened interesting, xavi could calm things out with fans since they all are asking him to step out of the lead of Barcelone since the last match against inter milan which complicated things for accessing the next stage in champions league, this win is just made Barcelone behind Real Madrid with 3 points as difference. I hope to see more confidence being gained by xavi and the fans with much better results in the next matches to come

I really enjoyed the performance of the Barca squad against Villareal, as usual Lewandowski scored 2 goals in that match, he performed brilliantly, and he is still the top scorer in la liga. ansu fati also made a big contribution in that match, 1 goal from him made Barca win 3-0 over Villareal. If Barca were able to play like yesterday when against Madrid last week then I'm sure the final result will be different.
2153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Man Won $51,000 in Sports Betting With a Bet of Just $1.072 on: October 21, 2022, 05:04:24 PM
Last week, on the 14th of October, 2022, A Nigerian Man used 800 naira (which is equivalent to $1.072 in today's NGN/DOLLAR exchange rate) to bet on sports...

He later won a whopping 38,317,137 Nigerian naira (which is equivalent to $51,363.454 in today's NGN/DOLLAR exchange rate).

         ....How luckier can one get?😁😁😁

Below is a quote of the entire article

Quote
An unidentified man has become a multi-millionaire after placing a bet on sports betting site with only N800.

The man, who instantly became a celebrity in a viral video, was seen with neigbhours trooping to the betting centre to confirm his N38million win after words spread out.

The system screen showed the man placed the multiple bet on Friday, October 14, 2022 with N800 only and won N38,317,130.00

After confirming his win, the man headed straight to the mosque to perform ‘Salat’ (daily obligatory prayer for Muslims). The crowd that had gathered to confirm his win followed him to the mosque, kept hailing him even as he ignored them and carried on with ablution for his prayers.

Here is the Reference link..., But please beware of too many ads on the website --this is why I decide to quote the whole article above.

NOW, HERE IS MY REASON FOR MAKING THIS THREAD..
The book of proverbs(from the Bible) says "A prudent(wise) man knows when to keep his mouth shut and when to speak"

....

What is or are your opinion(s) on this matter?
if we calculate from the capital he spent, he won 50x, that's really great luck. if the man publishes his victory openly then it will threaten his personal life and maybe the people around him. keep it normal it's very good, especially what I saw on the news that the crime rate in Nigeria is quite high.

Half Finney, eh?   That reminds me of an old song I used to sing around this time of year.

Christmas is a-comin'
And the geese are gettin' fat
Please to put a Finney in a poor man's hat
If you haven't got a Finney then a ha'Finney will do
If you haven't got a ha'Finney may God bless you.
Good bless you Gentlemen, God bless you!
If you haven't got a ha'Finney then God bless you.

2156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation really inevitable? on: October 21, 2022, 09:56:53 AM
Digital crime are keep increasing more and more, that's make governments want to regulate anything that they can including Bitcoin. They're not regulating by the network and manipulating the price, but they're regulating about their countries accept or not about Bitcoin and it make criminals are harder to use Bitcoin. Regulation isn't bad at all, but too much regulation make it bad.

IMO governments wouldn't ban Bitcoin, but they're trying to record every users who own Bitcoin in order to know who's the person behind each address.

there are some arms dealers, drug dealers, and even organ trafficking using bitcoin transactions, but whether they monitor all Bitcoin users for that reason is something that should be justified? times are sophisticated, they should be able to stop these crimes without having to scapegoat Bitcoin.

we do want the adoption of cryptocurrencies as soon as possible but regulation and monitoring are just an excuse for them to profit from taxes, if taxes are used for good it doesn't matter but the majority of tax money is used for negative things. when they see that cryptocurrencies have a large tax revenue opportunity, it is possible that in the future they will increase tax rates.

2157  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Isu Resesi 2023, Peluang Beli Bitcoin? on: October 20, 2022, 05:55:18 PM

Ataukah agan malah optimis hodl?

mas masulum nerima murid kagak, umlam ilmu nya donk Cheesy kalo saya udah pasti tiarap dulu, hehehe

I just registered at neodice, the registration is very easy, it doesn't even require email verification, besides that, I also got a bonus of 2 Bits. The UI and UX provided are also very good. btw, for deposits and withdraw it looks like you have to put BNB too in because it is a widely used cryptocurrency. Grin

no single place where bitcoin was mentioned and these makes this topic more fitted on economics
OP, according to Dunamisx, I also suggest you move this thread to Economics.

...
From your source link, Kuben Naidoo, the Deputy Governor of the South African Reserve Bank, clearly talked about regulation band and KYC on cryptocurrencies, which in no way refer to Bitcoin. I believe they are referring to some altcoins or fiat currency
I have considered for a long time in which thread I should put this but I think this is more suitable for the Bitcoin section because Bitcoin is the number 1 cryptocurrency in the world.
what I want to discuss here is the South African government made rules that aim to control all cryptocurrency users, get taxes from it and try to control it which is actually a bit contrary to satoshi's goal of creating bitcoin, it is a decentralized cryptocurrency and not burden the person who uses it.

Well, South Africa makes provision in their tax returns for people to declare Crypto currency income as Capital gain. So they still see it as a Commodity and not neccesarilly as legal tender. When a government accept Bitcoin or Crypto currency as a currency, then VAT will be added to those transactions and declared as a income.

I know for a fact that one of the sons of that President are into Crypto currencies, so it might explain why their government are so open-minded about Crypto currencies.  Wink
they tax supposedly on centralized assets like stocks but Bitcoin is a decentralized asset, what do they protect users from? bitcoin is the safest in the world, no scam.

Building analyzes on mere speculation for a period of 12 to 18 months would be considered a waste of time because a lot of things and variables will happen during this long period, and unless the bill is changed into a law and put into effect then only we can talk about the positive effects.

It's not a bill, it's an amendment to an already voted constitutional act (law) so any amendment that gets published takes effect, seems like the law process in South Africa still resembles quite a lot the one in Europe, so this is already a done business.
If you talk about modifying the main act, the Finacial Act of 2002 to give them special status among financial products, that's not going to happen, not even in 18 months, but for now, that's it cryptocurrencies are financial products and everyone that deals with them will have to comply with, starting...yesterday  Wink!
thank you, your words are very true.

"Our view has changed and we now regard it [cryptocurrency] as a financial asset and we hope to regulate it as a financial asset," he said at a PSG Think Big webinar. "There has been a lot of money that has flowed in, and there is a need to regulate it and bring it into the mainstream."

It will probably still take us around 12 to 18 months to get all of our ducks in a row, get everything in place. But I don't think that this has to happen in a big bang. I think we can start to have some KYC rules. We can start to license exchanges," Naidoo said.
