Fully agree with you. It's just a tactics by Aussies to get sympathy of PCB before the semi final. I too was surprised after reading this news that how can Aus agree to play in Pakistan at a time when both England and NZ have canceled there tours. I don't think they are poor in making judgements rather they are smart in making announcements at crucial times. PCB also looks convinced they Aus won't come in March 2022.
So it's time to focus on remaining 2 games, as NZ has qualify for the final.

This is just outright ridiculous. Do you really think that Pakistan will lose to Australia in the semifinals, just because CA promised to tour Pakistan? This allegation is as baseless as the one we had when New Zealand pulled out of the Pakistan tour. Back then, a lot of people here were saying that the BCCI asked New Zealand to pull out. Later it was proved that it was the New Zealand government which was behind the decision. And although CA has made the announcement, I am still not 100% sure about the tour. Some of the Australian players have already made negative statements about it.
You shouldn't expect much from the average fans when ministers of Information & Broadcasting and Home Affairs together came out in press conference and gave hilarious solid proofs.

Just look at those emails and tweets. Epic meme content for rest of the cricket fraternity but embarrassed for genuine Pak's fans.

It was an incredible game of cricket, never expected Daryl Mitchell would be the hero of the day for New Zealand and now the revenge of 2019 50 over World Cup is sweet as New Zealand was able to win when no one game them a chance. Half stage when New Zealand were chasing i thought they were not going anywhere as they were struggling with timing the ball and i thought England will win but they changed my perception when they won by an over to spare.

Memories from 2019 are still fresh in everyone's mind. Personally I thought that the trophy was stolen from New Zealand. I don't know who is going to win today's semifinal between Pakistan and Australia, but for me New Zealand is the most probable team to win the trophy from now on. That said, I don't know what went wrong with the England bowlers yesterday. They conceded 60 runs in just 4 overs (16 to 19). Apart from Liam Livingstone, almost everyone else went for 10 runs per over or more.
It happens in T-20 format, death bowling becomes very important here when dew comes in. Even bookies were not favoring England heavily when run-rate was 9-ish and that time English bowlers were bowling beautifully. They were only marginally ahead of Kiwis. Only time England was ahead when Conway got out but Jordan messed up badly, he's not going to forget Neesham for sure.

Ashes will decide his career and he has a habit of giving such statements. He was also very vocal about Poms when there was some confusion on upcoming Ashes series due to covid quarantine . Dude was also calling for Ban on Afghanistan team when Taliban took over the power, guess after that Afghan captain also retaliated on his statement.
The best response was given by Ashwin in the 4th Test during India's tour of Australia when Tim was trolling him and the response from Ashwin was that his career will be over once he tours India Cheesy. The funny aspect is that Tim is vocal but not intimidating like the old Australian players who used to get under every touring players skin Cheesy.
He did earn plenty of praise from all cricketing pundits when India toured them right after Sand paper scandal. Rightly so he led his team beautifully when there was a crisis, before him Aussie were known for their Pack of Wolves type of behavior. Countless encounters when they ganged up on opposition players, last incident was Warner-De Kock which ended with Sand paper scandal.

But he forgot that he needs to back his bantering behavior with performance and positive. No one raised the eyebrows when they lost first home series to India but Ashes series, particularly 1 match changed the tide and to make thing worse he also failed to win game against India at SCG from winning position, that's where problem started and then Gabba happened.

Lol read this funny news.

2 boards doing their negotiation on future bilateral tour, announcing the schedule etc but on the other hand Skipper (Tim Paine) giving interview and saying that some players might have some concern over this tour. Poster boy already started working on his list of excuses lol.

Paine admitted some Australian players may be uncomfortable with touring Pakistan given the security situation in the region.

The schedule for what would be Australia’s first tour of Pakistan since 1998 was released on Monday night, but it is far from certain if the matches will be played.

No one really cares about Tim Paine. His performance as a captain is below par, and his performance as a batsmen is outright pathetic. Don't want to comment on his wicket keeping skills. He will be 37 at the time of the tour, and I think that the Australian board should seriously consider options to replace him. If Paine and other senior players pull out of the Pakistan tour, then it will give an idea opportunity for the board to include some of the promising youngsters. Quite a few are garnering attention during the ongoing Sheffield Shield season.

2015, 2019 50 over WC finals, 2021 World test Champion finals and now qualified for 2021 T-20 WC final. Without any doubt New Zealand is dark horse of modern cricket.

Looks like only Haunebu and RapTarX are playing, pffrt trying to compete but lagging.

Once again New Zealand is going to be smashed by England. That's pretty bad luck of Kiwis. They have played a lot of Semis and recently final as well but couldn’t win the championship yet.
Another sad day for them I guess. They need 109 run from 60 ball; lost 2 early wickets. I had a bet on England. Though the chase still seems achievable, I guess NZ will fail once again as they did many times.
Tricky situation as required run rate also creeping up but they do have wickets in hand. As long as run rate doesn't go up like 12-ish then it should be okay, after all anything could happen during death overs. England also need to be careful at the end, sometimes scoring runs become easy in last 3-4 overs. All Kiwis need a one big over, may be 17th.

And Conway is gone.
3107  Local / India / Re: India is considering middle path for crypto regulations on: November 10, 2021, 11:26:47 AM

Any guesses? What could be the "Middle path"?
More like a watching the space by sitting on a sideways, including taking notes from the other developed economies. Not a bad choice IMO, considering all it takes one loony to file a PIL in courts or 1 bureaucrat's dumb statement to generate enough bad vibes in context of mass adoption. Cities like Bangalore could play a crucial role, given State play their Federalism card wisely to attract more startups.

Moderately bullish on India but extremely bullish on Indians.

and this brings an end to Shastri-Kohli T-20 combo.
Speaking of their tenure.

I have been following cricket since Ganguly's era, more than 2 decade already. Never been my expectation were so high from the Indian team. Earlier they were always contender but not a champion team in every format or at least 2 formats similar to Windies and Australia but this current team under Shastri-Kohli had every ingredient to become one, feel bad for this duo for not winning any ICC tournament, especially World Test Championship.

Hope Kohli lead our team to new heights in the Test format and Dhamad ji should get some commentary gigs soon, would be fun.

Their numbers are excellent.

Good news for Pakistan cricket. Australia is about to visit Pakistan in next year for bilateral series, kinda surprising that they didn't visit there since 1999. 2008-2021 period was understandable but what happened during 1998-2007? Anyway hope they don't cancel this tour at the last minute. They do have a habit of pulling out at the last minute, South Africans still very pissed at them.

Australia to tour Pakistan for full series in March 2022

What happened in South Africa was due to COVID 19, and you can't really blame the Australians. The Australian government directed the cricket board to pull out, after they noticed a sudden spike in COVID cases in that country. Also, the South African government was getting criticized for their handling of the pandemic. You can expect a last minute pullout with Pakistan as well (similar to what New Zealand did), in case the Australian government thinks that there is a viable chance of a terror attack against the team.
Covid didn't stop Pakistan, Windies to visit England when covid cases were on peak there. Covid didn't stop India to tour Australia and staying at bubbles for 4 long months, just to bail out CA from financial crisis. Even Kiwis visited them for couple of games but when it comes to their own responsibilities they chickened out royally.

Yeah, they might. Would be better if they don't.

For Indian fans this 2021 WC didn't took place due to pandemic similar to..

-2003 WC final against Australia washed up due to rain.
-2007 WC got scrapped by ICC.
-2017 Champions trophy final didn't happen.
-2019 World Cup semi final against Kiwis got cancelled.
-First WTC final against Kiwis also got cancelled.

^^ Only 11-ish months left for the next T-20 WC lol

ICC could have wait and at least keep 2 years gap in each T-20 World cup but no they were in hurry to replace Champions trophy. I heard that after 2 back to back WC they are planning to bring back CT again, confused bunch of group indeed.

Looks like South Africa are out of the race at this point.
Will they go into semi if they win the match? Or they need a big margin as said above. It was a good start by South Africa & luck was favoring them too at the beginning (Roy was retd hurt). But now, England seems to be getting back into the match & it's not possible to have a big margin for KSA anymore I guess.
Yeah.

For qualification South Africa had to restrict England under 131 runs, in which they failed. Now it doesn't matter if they win or lose, they are going home.

This was the equation.

-South Africa is officially out from the WC. Group 1 Semifinalist Eng and Aus.
-Windies, Bangladesh, Namibia and Scotland have to play qualifying round for the next T-20 WC (2022).
-Ravi Shashtri is in talk with new IPL franchise (Ahmedabad) to become their head coach. lol
3116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 06, 2021, 04:37:02 PM
Number game...

England score is 59 so they need only 27 more runs and they are in, seems formality for them.

Mind game before the ashes? Reaction from the aussie media would be very amazing if England collapse under 131 runs, result Australia out. More drama in the upcoming ashes  Grin Grin

After Aus vs WI we have lot more clarity in Group 1. Australia did favor on themselves by winning with good margin, their run rate went up and now they are favorite for second semifinalist. England already entered into semis with 4 wins + ridiculous high run rate.

If Proteas want to play in semis then they have to beat England by big margin in do and die match.

Bravo and Chris Gayle are retired from the international cricket.

India have clearly not given up yet.

Although Indian team is giving their fans some hope, first 2 match really damaged our campaign. Anyway this is the scenario regarding net run-rate. India need to chase this 85 runs target in just 7.1 overs if they want higher run rate. If somehow India manage to reach semis then my money on India for sure.

@RapTarX Nahi bhai, i did mention this in my previous post.

^^ Let's see what Dravid brings on the table and how he handles everyone, don't want to see Kumble-Kohli kind of controversy again.

-------
Anyway Kiwis won the game convincingly although their batters looked sketchy for first 16 overs but they changed the momentum in last 4 overs, they scored 60 ish runs in last 4 overs. Now they have very healthy run rate. Indians need to overcome this run rate fiasco and then some prayers that Afg wins against the kiwis Grin . Defending champions and big power house of T-20, Windies is out from this World Cup. After seeing their dismal performance as a unit, its safe to say that they will now enter into transition mode. Considering Universe boss Gayle might retire soon after all he's 40+ now. Players like Bravo (38) and Pollard (34) are also getting oldies, although they might stick with the team for year or two.
