@JSRAW if the WIPL gets going then it’ll be a huge step for the Women cricket all over the world, because WIPL will generate lots of buzz for them, and hopefully in the long run they’ll get similar respect and recognition like their male counterparts. However don’t you’ll think that it’ll be too hot in March?, and won’t it have an effect on spectators views about watching the match in the stadium, hence why can’t it take place in December or January when the Indian climate is much cooler?. March is not considered hot month compared to April-May-June so it should be completely fine, if setting is day-night then situation is ideal. July to Nov are kinda fixed for Caribbean league, WBBL and The Hundred, then in Dec to Feb some countries (NZ, SA,Aus) have bilateral commitments .

~snip~ McCullum will do a lot for England in this format; only he can save it. England has announced their test squad for New Zealand. It is great to see Anderson and Broad have been re-called to England's Test squad. It will be interesting to see what happens in the first test against New Zealand. I'm looking forward to seeing them in action.
McCullum is an excellent addition but he doesn't have any magic wand. If they want any success then from now on English batters need to do heavy lifting, they can't always rely on bowlers only. Atm Broad seat is not confirmed for the first test because management is looking at Overton as he's considered marginally good bat in comparison to Broad.
Edit English squad - Broad-Jimmy duo is back. Overton is sitting out.

Kiwis are warming up for their 3 test matches series, which is starting from 2nd June. I guess this series is part of the World Test Championship (Saying this because both countries have history of playing useless series for no reason just like IND and SL) Anyway this is BlackCaps squad for the first match. After very long time Kane Williamson is back in the team as Captain.

BCCI had done something good after the IPL for the curators and groundsmen across 6 IPL venues. A sum of 1.25 crore as prize money have been announced for the unsung heroes of IPL. Without them it is impossible to have the grounds prepared before every match. This time Cadbury made a sponsor and this time BCCI announced the good prize money which gets the unsung heros small bonus. BCCI announces Rs 1.25 crore prize money for ‘unsung heroes’ of IPL 2022This is incredible news and kinda unexpected move from the BCCI. It's not an easy task to keep pitches fresh and alive when you have 70 matches on few pitches but ground staff pulled it off beautifully so please to see this nice gesture from the BCCI management.

I had my doubts if Australia is going to visit SriLanka or not due to unrest but it seems they are set to go for the bilateral series, this is good news as it could help SL's board with some sort of revenue in these tough times. Meanwhile BCCI also promised another bilateral series to SL in coming months.

Maybe a league for the test cricket similar to IPL needs to be conducted. Based on the time constraints test cricket have been losing its importance. To strengthen the domestic test cricketing lowering the number of days and conducting a league seems to be a better choice. Whether it is region based or club sided domestic cricket, allowing them to participate in those leagues will be more effective in terms of revenue too.
kevin pietersen also pitching the of idea league based structure for the County Cricket but no one taking him very seriously atm. In County this might work but in other countries this would be very tough to implement because of budget and i'm not sure how "lowering the number of days" is going to work out as it's already 4 days affair.

Seriously yes this was the worst IPL final i thought this would be very narrow and entertaining but Rajasthan choked like anything and GT who topped the table and topped every sphere proved that they deserved this trophy. A big thanks to Royse and JSraw for organizing the pool, hope to see another pool with upcoming world T20, congratulations to swordsrex and Akhjob for finishing 2nd and 3rd tough competition this time from everyone.
Was also counting on tight match but got disappointed after Royal's inning. Anyway Son of a Gun Kungfu Pandya did it, was extremely skeptical about his captaincy and the form but he proved everyone wrong. Even Pandya got the Trophy, poor Kohli.
congrats again @teosanru @Swordsoffreedom @RapTarX (Fellas please take your time and post your address, i'll coordinate with the @Royse777 regarding prize) Big shoutout to our sponsor 🔥 BTC365.com 🔥

Both Jaiswal and Sanju were looking okay but they are gone now so things are not looking favorable for the Rajasthan atm.
Good thing is Butler still there but they are left with only 10 overs and Rashid still have 2 overs left, hope Hetmyer takes care of Rashid because he's the only dominating match up against Rashid.
Yeah not easy outing for the Rajasthan.

Gujrat is looking fav but i won't count Rajasthan out at any cost. We can expect entertaining game of cricket but man i want close finish for the finals. Would be amazing if we get to see super over, if not then please last ball finish. I am rooting for Rajasthan Royals to win the finals, simply because of Shane Warne who groomed them in the first season of the IPL and made them the winners and a win here will be a tribute for him and i expect Sanju Samson to perform as well for leaving him out of the upcoming tour . Same rooting for Royals and Sanju.
Okay ladies after 60 long days, we now have reached to the final step. Hope you enjoyed the live concert (Although concert seems weird in daylight). I personally enjoyed the Ranveer Singh's fuckery most He's cringy individual but dude got some extraordinary energy and godlike self confidence, secretly i wish i had 10% of his confidence.

Not taking Riyan Parag's side but his comparison with Virat is bit weird.
Virat opened a inning and sometimes bats at 3, which means he had more balls to face in every match. On the other hand Parag bats at number 6 position and only gets to bat limited amount of balls so it's kinda obvious he's not going to outscore Kohli. Even Dinesh karthik who was in God Mode throughout this season scored less runs than Kohli. I agree that Parag can't be compared with Kohli. But please tell me why this guy is in the team. What is his contribution to Rajasthan Royals? He can't bat and he can't bowl. And he has dropped more catches than anyone else in the team. What makes him so special that he has appeared in all the 16 matches played by RR so far in this season? On top of that, he has behaved quite arrogantly on the field. Remember his reaction after he took the catch of Stoinis? Matthew Hayden (commentator for that match) came down heavily on Parag then. I agree that in every season he plays 1 blinder out of nowhere and then ride full season as freeloader. One could only hope that he'll learn. His behaviour is irritating sometime but what do you expect from 20 yo kid? Or may be we are getting old and cranky at the same time. I think he's an excellent fielder, specially at outfield. He did dropped couple of sitters but he also took fine catches and leading the most catches in IPL 2022 tally .

Never thought that Sri Lanka had a chance of winning this match, but somehow they did it. Bangladesh on the other hand was overdependent on Litton and Mushfiqur, but these two can't rescue them everytime. Out of the total of 534 runs scored by Bangladesh, a total of 391 was scored either by Litton or by Mushfiqur. That is two batsmen contributing for more than 73% of the team total. Asitha Fernando had a dream outing this time, taking 10 wickets in total. See this, two pace bowlers (Fernando and Rajitha) taking the vast majority of the wickets in a pitch that unfairly supported batsmen.
Everyone should have such expectations from Bangladesh team in test format. They had quite good chance to win the first test match. But they have failed to do it for the poor decisions of their captain. Now they have lost the second test match which was moving towards the draw. From 150/5 to all out in just 169 runs. That's how poor batting lineup Bangladesh have in test format. The top order batsmen and the lower order batsmen has completely failed to show their performance. Bangladesh will play two test matches against West Indies in the next month. I think they will loss those matches too. Bangladesh could not win the first match due to some wrong decisions of the captain. And in the second match, Bangladesh lost because of poor team management and the poor performance of batsmen. Mirpur's pitch is a bit spin-friendly. The management has put players like Mosaddek on the squad who were not fit for this type of pitch. There are many more talented spinners in Bangladesh. Besides, 10 players of Bangladesh have been dismissed for zero runs in two innings. Bangladesh might have better spin options but Sri Lankan's spinners are no mug either, even Lankan's spinners failed to pick bag of wickets (atleast 19 bong's wickets fell against seamers in 2nd match) so imo that would be very wrong post match criticism. Let's face it Bangali's top order failed to perform that's the only reason they lost the match on flat pitch.

That's the beauty of team, if team is performing good then underperforming players are also covered and no one noticed that. RCB kept Kohli despite the fact he was a complete failure because team itself was performing too good. If RR wins the title tomorrow who will remember performance of Parag.
Kohli was in poor form this season, but still he scored a total of 341 runs with an average of 22.73. Riyan Parag on the other hand has played the same number of matches (16) and he has scored less than half as much runs as Kohli. I don't understand the point of keeping him in the team as a specialist batsmen, when Karun Nair is not being given any chances. I heard that Sanju Samson has some issues with Karun and that is the reason why he is not being given any chances. Anyway, as long as they are winning matches, these issues will remain under the radar.

My horrible luck with playoffs predictions continues. Predicted RR to win against GT earlier and got screwed. Expected Lucknow to win and got screwed. Expected RCB to win against RR and got screwed royally.
It's like good luck just abandoned me completely. This season was entertaining and tiring at the same time. One last match people! Excited for the finale between GT and Royals.
Finally after today I can comfortably say that I have won it : D i hope there is no threat left now for my first position because next match is worth 4 points in total 3 match points and just 1 margin point so even if swordsrex gets all the 4 points he can't beat me for sure. Or is there any other bonus point available too? Talking about IPL i think It's a sure shot win for GT this time unless there is another Butler storm in the final just like Today's match because then chasing any target becomes pretty easy. Congrats to you and SwordsRex in advance. Now next 3 participants are competing for 3rd position. Gujrat is looking fav but i won't count Rajasthan out at any cost. We can expect entertaining game of cricket but man i want close finish for the finals. Would be amazing if we get to see super over, if not then please last ball finish.

There is a saying in the Hindi belt " Dhud ka jala, chanch bhi phuk phuk kar pita hai"
Their previous experiment with the 16 teams WC didn't end well for them so they are clearly scared off implementing same idea.
To do something meaningful they have to take to take approach of -Start up culture- Take a risk for at least 3-4 WC (t-20, 50 overs) in next 8 years cycle and include more teams. Also qualification process should be same for everyone, except host nation. For financial safety they could keep India and Pakistan in same group, same with England and Australia.
I am not very comfortable with the idea of giving automatic qualification for 80% of the teams. Well, the ICC will argue that top 8 teams will qualify based on ODI ranking, but it is not that simple because the associate nations (not even new test nations such as Afghanistan and Ireland) get to pay any ODIs against the full members. IMO, apart from the hosts, all other countries must go through a qualifier tournament, similar to the case with any other sports. If someone refuses to play qualifiers, then that team must be kicked out of the world cup. I wasn't implying automatic qualifications for anyone (automatic entry is for host nation only). I was proposing same criteria for all the teams for the qualifications, this include everything which you mentioned. No ICC ranking or Full members BS, this is one regressive rule in ICC playbook (We saw what happened with Thailand Women's team in the WC)

Well ladies and gents..
It looks like Royals are heading to seamless victory and playing finals, their batters doing exceptionally job so far so there is no doubt whatsoever, unless RCB manage to pull things off in last 10 overs, which seems highly unlikely.

If they actually care about cricket itself I think they would have increased the number of teams that are playing cricket regularly by now. At least there have been 20 teams playing in the world cup.
They already tried this once in past and burned their hands badly (Big teams got knocked out early). It was epic financial disaster for the ICC that they dropped this idea for good. I am in favour of 16-20 teams WC competition. It has many challenges as well which we already discussed many time in every cricketing thread. Well, then why just ICC don't take any steps about making cricket popular in smaller countries? If they are interested in cricket the revenue is not going to be a problem. I think if ICC thinks that playing a small number of teams in the world cup is going to be the solution to their """"revenue"""" problem I am going to say they are delusional and they are not thinking straight. If they think that the smaller teams are not going to be interested in cricket because the people of those countries watching cricket for a long time will hamper productivity in those countries? then why don't ICC just takes some states about making cricket popular to economically rich countries? There is a saying in the Hindi belt " Dhud ka jala, chanch bhi phuk phuk kar pita hai" Their previous experiment with the 16 teams WC didn't end well for them so they are clearly scared off implementing same idea. To do something meaningful they have to take to take approach of -Start up culture- Take a risk for at least 3-4 WC (t-20, 50 overs) in next 8 years cycle and include more teams. Bangladesh is about to witness another test series defeat in their own backyard. They are 8 wickets down and lead is only 28 runs, we have close to 56 overs left in today's gameplay so i guess it's safe to rule out series outcome 1-0 in SL's favor. Dhaka need a heavy Rain, let the monsoon save a day for the Bongs. ---------- 9th wicket down ---------- Hmm all out

I honestly believe that the politician was actually unbiased in terms of the political effect on the player. He actually tried to help the player's career but I also agree that in a country like India it obviously causes a lot more harm instead of good. Because that raises the question in other people's minds. And any player from any other religion can obviously say that if you follow the same religion as an important political figure you will have a better chance of playing for the national team. and that will eventually come back to bite the player.
India has fair amount of problems when it comes to bigotry and religious fanaticism but when it comes to cricket then there is virtually no drama at all, it's all about meritocracy and nothing else. Just to give you example of Arjun Tendulkar (Sachin's son), he recently got rejected for even Mumbai's Ranji squad. For decade or so it started happening in other spots too. I remember sometimes back some Ambedkarite (pro reservation) made a reservation jibe at the Cricket. With in a few hour everyone including Left-Centre-Right and literally every visible nutjob in the media ganged up together against this idea.
