1321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what btc exchange on: June 12, 2014, 06:20:29 PM
Use BTC-E

They have been the top exchanger or trading plat since MTGOX went off

They have the cheapest price and a lot way of deposit and withdraw . you can easily google BTC-E .

I think Bitstamp would be considered the "top" (western) exchange, although Bitfinex and BTC-E seem to be gaining ground, for sure. People seem turned off by Bitstamp's new KYC policies. Very invasive.
1322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bloomberg Bitcoin Ticker on: June 12, 2014, 06:18:42 PM
I don't think it's ready yet, they're doing internal testing.

I saw someone posted a screenshot.

Yeah, I've seen screenshots around for a while now. But when I looked, I could never find it. Kind of gave up on it...

Are you talking about this one?
http://www.coindesk.com/bloomberg-list-bitcoin-prices-financial-terminals/

Yes, but where is the ticker link for live pricing ?

I believe you need to subscribe to their service (http://www.bloomberg.com/professional/) before you can access the Bloomberg terminal.

I had no idea. I thought the newbie retail investing masses were going to get a bitcoin ticker on screen when going to bloomberg, LOL!
1323  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best bitcoin casino? on: June 12, 2014, 06:17:23 PM
So many biased people, mostly PD sig posters upping their count.

I am not. Cheesy

How can PD have the best Bitcoin casino, they only have one friggin' game?!!   Grin
Best dice game perhaps, but to be a casino you need multiple game types(slots, table games, dice, etc).

It is true that PD has just a simple dice game, but it is working very well (nice graphics, active chat, helpful support persons, great giveaway and happy hours, etc.)
Not sure about the others, but I personally prefer simple dice game over slots and poker...

I think dice games lend themselves more than anything to the idea of quick online gambling. I don't find slots and video poker very fun, personally, but to each their own.
1324  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Bitcoin Wallets on: June 12, 2014, 06:16:04 PM
bitcoin-qt the way to go if resources aren't an issue imho.

Indeed. QT can drag resources/memory on my laptop, so I prefer using a lightweight client like Electrum for my online computer's wallet.
1325  Economy / Speculation / Re: Some Bearish Observations. on: June 11, 2014, 11:06:32 PM

Remember what happened last time when the daily SAR said sell?

Well, I would never use SAR on its own for buy/sell signals. But I will say, give me a month of sideways here, and I will go long. Not sure at this point...
1326  Economy / Speculation / Re: Something, something, something, technical analysis on: June 11, 2014, 11:05:30 PM
If i did have to make a chart illustrate it, it might look like this...

Trend is up volatility slowly decreases over time 5k is only a few years out but the road there is strewn with doubt.

But what will happen as price continues into this contracting range? Either way, it can't sustain forever, and a new trend must develop.
1327  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin listed on Yahoo Finance on: June 11, 2014, 11:03:36 PM
wow, thanks! That and expedia accepting bitcoin now, lots of bullish news, tell that to bitstamp...

Bitstamp knows that there is mass of leveraged longs just waiting to cash out on it's arse should it start buying up the Ask Wall with it's undiluted and unleveraged capital. Bitstamp would prefer that these longs were squeezed so Bitstamp can buy it's coins cheaper.

Looking at the price action, I tend to agree. Bitfinex longs are holding on to hope that we don't continue to slip down -- over $20 spread with Stamp! Crazy times.
1328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will today's invasion of Iraq cause a spike in BTC on: June 11, 2014, 11:02:19 PM
Every time some sort of social/political turmoil happens, it is supposed to cause a rally in the price of BTC? I don't think that's how it works. Cyprus worked, I guess....
1329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: jekv2 here on: June 11, 2014, 11:00:31 PM
Not concerned either way, but I think it is normal etiquette when trading accounts to NOT out the account that was sold. People that dislike account trading will put negative trust on the account.
1330  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: WTB bitcointalk account created in 2012, doesn't matter postcount or activity on: June 11, 2014, 10:51:35 PM
Like the title said, an account that is created sometime in 2012, the earlier the better. It doesn't matter if postcount is low since I will be posting on it myself and at the same time gain more activity on it.

This will only be used for sig campaigns so please PM me with an offer and a proof of the account.

I will be paying well.

No one selling them will offer "proof". Doing so will reveal the identity of the account, which could cause it to be negative repped.

Why 2012? Doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose...
1331  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get money? on: June 11, 2014, 10:49:29 PM
Quickest way is to learn market and exploit price different when you see one.

Well guess that's what I'm doing with bitcoin.
Still learning though Smiley
Buy low sell high. Make profit on each transaction.

This is one strategy. However, many traders are willing to take small losses repeatedly, until they get in position for a very big move. I don't mind losing on a bunch of trades if my gains on the big one blow those losses out of the water.
1332  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm not prepared for a disaster, are you? on: June 11, 2014, 10:48:21 PM
Not at all. I have no emergency supplies, no plan in place. My girl and I have never even talked about it. Maybe I should get on that..... Smiley
1333  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best bitcoin casino? on: June 11, 2014, 10:45:36 PM
It was way more than 250; maybe 10,000?
You could have cash out as soon as you were reaching the min cash out amount

It is 1000/minute now. 10,000/minute one in a while for an hour

What do I need to do to get 1000 a minute? I can only claim 250...

U cant atm whitelisting is disabled but on PD3 faucet will go up to much higher amounts Smiley

Okay. I can't wait for the PD3, and I really mean it. Smiley

PD3? Geez, I was on PrimeDice less than a year ago, and PD2 had just been released. Wonder what he's planning to bring to the table now.
1334  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn some Bitcoins on: June 11, 2014, 10:44:28 PM
now a days there are many dice sites offering free bonus bitcoins that is the easiest way to get free bitcoins.

But are these actually bitcoins, that you can immediately withdraw? Or are they a "free roll" type deal, where you have to play through the bonus before withdraw? There is a big difference. Most free deals with play through are simply lost to the house -- that's why they do it.
No gambling site gives you free bitcoins that you can withdraw instantly. Withdrawal requirement is often 1 confirmed deposit, and the withdrawal fee is often higher than the free bitcoins you get.

There was a time...... 777coin used to give out .01 free and .001 free daily that could be instantly withdrawn. They still do a giveaway with no playthrough, but I think it is very small. Something like .0001 daily.
Oh? 0.0001 is still better than many faucets, guess that's nice.

Yes, it's certainly something. I think if you do it 3 times you'll have covered the withdrawal fee and can actually see bitcoins.
1335  Economy / Speculation / Re: Something, something, something, technical analysis on: June 11, 2014, 08:58:59 PM
My analysis (short to medium term) based on nothing but a gut feeling is the current rise is a tiny bit overextended, which is perfect for an engineered smack down designed to shake out a few loose coins to be snapped up cheap, before we resume a gentle uptrend.

Long term, I think this is it for super-exponential rises followed by blowoffs.

I think the 4-5 figure target is almost inevitable in the 2-5 year timeframe, but I think the route by which we get there is going to be very different to what people are used to and fraught with peril.

Forgive me for the lack of chart to back up my rambling Wink

Very much agree with this. I am not betting on the charts painting near replicas of the last bubbles, as many people are. 2-5 years is reasonable, and I think indeed that price action may pan out very differently than what many expect.
1336  Economy / Speculation / Re: 50% increase and everyone thinks 10k (again) on: June 11, 2014, 08:56:33 PM
We started going up 2 weeks ago and we're just about 50% higher. It's good, it's nice but look at the charts. February 1st was way higher. So we're lower than where we were at 2014's start. Of course money can be made on price swings or bubbles but looking at the bigger picture, seems nothing fundamental changed. Not that many new people buy bitcoin.

If we were to repeat last bubble, a 9x increase in 2-months timeframe, we should be at 4500 this summer. But I think chances for this to happen are very slim. Too much new money have to be poured into and not that many newcomers into bitcoin yet.

I am very curious where the price will be on July 2nd. I'll have to do a big decision then and a powerful Bitcoin might help me. A good price will be 1000 zone. Based only on last bubble, where price double first time in about 1mo, we could be there by my due date. But this might be also the end of a mini-bubble, deflating from 680s to 400s again.

Do not underestimate them, you can make a lot of money that way.

I very much doubt we will see 1000 now, more likely it will go down to 500.

Going that much down again would be following an extremely different pattern than the last two bubbles.
Which is of course possible, but I wouldn't call it likely.

Well, I don't really find your data set of "2" very convincing. When we have such little historical data, betting on current price action looking like the last 2 bubbles may be a horrible bet...
1337  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're not going anywhere, until the 51% question is answered on: June 11, 2014, 08:54:04 PM
I think bears are still hoping the market would drop on this 51% scare stuff (....this again???) -- wonder if they're right. No big moves yet....
1338  Economy / Speculation / Re: My gut says... on: June 11, 2014, 08:52:14 PM
We are heading down.

I think we are seeing a head fake rise the last month. I think we go down to 415 in the next two weeks before we go higher.

If the price drops below 450$ then the uptrend is broken and after a weak rebound we'll drop even lower.
To go higher than 700$ would require that the upcoming correction doesn't drop below 450$ (not below 550$ to be sure).

I agree -- $550 is a very key level. And if I see a strong support there, I will certainly be going long for the rally to $700s+.
1339  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expedia starts accepting bitcoin on: June 11, 2014, 08:49:41 PM
I will use this for sure. It's not the biggest news in the world, but more merchant adoption from companies we've actually heard of can't hurt.
1340  Other / Off-topic / Re: What social network do you use most? on: June 11, 2014, 08:46:41 PM
I suppose that would be Facebook, but I hardly use it anymore. Actually, it kind of depresses the crap out of me. There was a time when I used Twitter as well, but stopped logging in about a year ago.
