1481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: June 08, 2014, 08:47:49 AM
Btchina was leading new high on last bubble. Their price is probably more accurate.

There have been lots of accusations on Chinese exchanges faking data, and so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a "Willy bot" in btcchina. Smiley

Yes, I have long been suspicious of the volume transacted on the Chinese exchanges. OkCoin was more or less caught red-handed. But it did seem almost organic, the way that Huobi took all of BTCChina's liquidity when payment options were cut off.
1482  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BitCoin faucets really worth the time? on: June 08, 2014, 08:46:30 AM
Some faucets was giving away 1-2 bitcoin every 30 minute few years ago and people think that its a waste of time, same too now Smiley

Exactly. Give it another 3 years, and who know? 50,000 satoshis could be worth $500. Stranger things have happened, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see that happen.
1483  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid for signature space? on: June 08, 2014, 08:45:06 AM
Or you can try to increase your referrals like freebitco.in outside from signatures.

Been there, done that. As much as I appreciate the .00015 or so that shows up in my wallet every day or two, I don't know that it's worth the time. But YMMV.
1484  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Account with Trust for sale on: June 08, 2014, 12:52:37 AM
Selling an account with (+2) with 60-80 Activity.

Great to build a foundation on.

You may not use this account to scam.

Price: .15 BTC.

Contact me and we will use escrow.

I don't really have a problem with neutral trust accounts being sold, but selling positive trust accounts is simply shady. It makes sense to want activity for signature campaigns. But selling positive trust is just reaching out to scammers...
1485  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How many LTC do you have frozen in [Vircurex]? Have they been unfrozen yet? on: June 08, 2014, 12:50:27 AM
It's looking pretty bad for Vircurex. Volumes are beyond dead. I fear they will be forced to shut down long before they can pay out. Personally, I have nothing left on there. I took a massive haircut on the value of my holdings when the initial announcement was made.
1486  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your Highest Loss IN A Day on: June 08, 2014, 12:41:24 AM
I lost about $1100 shorting bitcoin's price spike in early March. I had made much, much more shorting in February, so it was okay. But it hurt stopping out my position and taking the loss. This was around the $590 level.
1487  Economy / Economics / Re: Is 1 bitcoin a decent and good investment? on: June 08, 2014, 12:38:59 AM
my uncle said that 1 bitcoin is all he could afford right now..i could not assure him if it is really a decent and good one...

i said him i will get back to you after i ask this in the forums..

so what is your opinion?

Long term, sure. Just look at the historical charts. I think the days are over of putting in a couple hundred bucks and becoming a multi-millionaire, but I still think bitcoin has a lot of rising to do over the long haul.
1488  Economy / Economics / Re: You work your butt off, and a rich dude does nothing and gets rich - how? on: June 08, 2014, 12:37:12 AM
It was always like this. Long ago you were born into royalty and others were born into poverty or slavery, they worked their asses off and had nothing their whole lives. Life sux there's no equality and never will be.

I'm not convinced. Yes, historically, the basic dynamics of rich vs. poor have never left us, and we aren't exactly fighting the trend, either. But I'm still of the opinion that people can only be kept down for so long....
1489  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook accepts Bitcoin? on: June 08, 2014, 12:35:09 AM
I could see Facebook coming to accept bitcoin in exchange for their own credits. I mean, why not? Payment processing is cheap, and they get another niche of customers who otherwise would not pay. Win/win.
1490  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn some Bitcoins on: June 08, 2014, 12:28:38 AM
Its risky I cant take risk with that.

You now have 55 activity, so you could just make 4 more posts and make another post on Jun 10 to get 60 activity.
You could then join the PD sig program, to get some bitcoin without much risk.

Thanks will try that, But I do not have that much time so I cannot make 300-400 posts per month.

Well, I don't think of signature campaigns so much as "work" or "a job", and I don't aim to make a huge amount of money. The way I see it is: I'm here anyway, I'm posting anyway, so why not?

I checked some campaign will try to join monthly fixed bitcoins campaign. That better for me.

this is a good choice for more casual posters who are not online so much. 50 post/month is a pretty small requirement. also, you may consider selling some things in the marketplace. i'm trying to get together an inventory of things to sell for btc myself. Smiley
I'm trying the goods selling too, but I can't figure out the best way to ship the items...

I thought about this too. I'm in the USA. Seems pretty straight forward to ship to anyone in the states, but international gets tricky with customs, irregular shipping times, etc. Seemed too complicated.
1491  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who wishes they had bought bitcoin when it was $540 or so? on: June 07, 2014, 11:03:11 PM
Well, obviously now that it's near $660, I wish I bought (more) at $540. I wish I bought (more) at $470 too. I was too scared to buy in the $300s -- really wish I had the balls to stick my bids in when we were down there.
1492  Economy / Speculation / Re: 50% increase and everyone thinks 10k (again) on: June 07, 2014, 11:01:23 PM
I don't disagree with the sentiment in the OP. This could fizzle out here, or we could take another stab at the $700 zone and fizzle out. I at least can't be too sure that we are heading for another test of $1000 or an ATH.

1494  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: June 07, 2014, 10:55:09 PM
is updown.bt full then or not? he said he was putting a cap on the max number of participants, but who has any idea how many are participating? i suggested to someone that they join, but then realized it wasn't clear.
I have no idea. I have asked them but I haven't received an answer for now. Will try to contact him on Monday/Tuesday. He/them aren't online in the weekend.

I've seen a couple people post to the effect it's closed for new members. Can't be sure, but especially considering some of the recent issues with the campaign, I'd say it's best to steer clear until there is more clarity.
1495  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where is the weekend rally? on: June 07, 2014, 10:52:31 PM
I don't see the logic behind this...rally on weekends when banks don't work? Just pray for no drop and as soon as it isn't happening (*knock knock*) i think we are fine.

I'm not so concerned about the banking days argument. I don't think there is any basis to say that most or all new money buys immediately once on an exchange. And I imagine after this prolonged bear market, there is still lots of "old money" waiting as well.
1496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where is the weekend rally? on: June 07, 2014, 10:07:52 PM
Is this a new thing? The weekend rally? I thought we had been trained to look for a weekend dip. And I think we already had it on that drop to $635 (on Bitstamp).
1497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: June 07, 2014, 10:06:20 PM
it hasn't gone below $645 yet though. Although now that it did break the support line it is slightly more likely to fall back to $630.

I agree. I am watching for a local bottom around the $630 level. There is fib confluence there with this short term triangle bottom. This could be a good base for a leg up past $700, IMO.

plausible, let's hope so

Didn't hit my $632 bids. Had to buy $638~ or so. But looking good so far, bounced right near the triangle bottom support, and now looking to test the upper bound. Fingers crossed for a breakout to $700s. Tongue
1498  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do You smoke? tobacco/weed etc on: June 07, 2014, 10:03:58 PM
i thought it was same, because you never tried weed, but support cannabis Grin
why did you support it? it's not good for our body, and weed is expensive too
if someone addicted with weed and he run out money, i think they will stole money from someone and can make criminal action

First of all, it is not bad for the body. There is no scientific basis for the arguments claiming otherwise.

this is partly only out of ignorance, though. scientific study of cannabis has been suppressed and vastly underfunded for many, many years. it is important to recognize that smoking any substance can release carcinogens, and that smoking cannabis specifically causes inhalation of tar into the lungs just like tobacco.

i smoke weed everyday. but i don't agree with those people running around saying "weed is so safe! tobacco is the devil, and weed is not bad for you at all!" it's misguided, IMO.

Yeah, that is true, breathing any smoke is bad.
That's why I prefer eating.

I like to cook my cannabis as well. But I'm a smoker at heart. I did get a Volcano solid valve recently, and I must say, I am loving it. I'm surprising myself by going days without actually "smoking". Didn't think it would scratch the itch. Feels good cutting down on the smoke.
1499  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best bitcoin casino? on: June 07, 2014, 10:01:56 PM
i always liked 777coin as far as a more full-featured casino. for dice games, my favorite site is still Primedice. but i can't say that i have tried all that many other sites.

I also prefer 777coin to Bit777 and Peerbet, but that's probably because I've actually profited on their site, as opposed to the latter two! Good selection of games on both 777coin and Bit777.
1500  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BitCoin faucets really worth the time? on: June 07, 2014, 10:00:09 PM
You have to relies people are not giving away large amounts to get people rich.
correct me if i am wrong but arent most faucets relying on google ads and that kind of thing to generate money.
The idea is people have enough to play around with and send to friends, but not quite enough to buy anything.

would you give 1000000000000000 strangers on the internet a large sum of money lol ?

well, back in 2010 you would have given them a large amount of bitcoins, yes, but they weren't worth much at the time. just saying, bitcoins might be worth a lot more than they are now.

Totally. There were times when you could get .1 - .25 bitcoins per payout from faucets. Think about that -- $160 a pop at current rate? From a buy-and-hold perspective on bitcoin's value, what you reap from faucets now could be worth *a lot* more in the future.
