1562  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.855 BTC for 180GH/s on: April 21, 2014, 02:33:16 PM
New price for AntMiner S1: 0.855btc each one, shipping cost included.

These really need a step change now bitmain - drop to 0.45 and they'll nearly be worth buying again.

Unless Bitmain reveals his true shipping costs its hard to know exactly how low he could go and still make a decent return.

No one should expect Bitmain to give these away!

Shipping 2nd day air is not cheap.
1563  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: April 18, 2014, 05:06:22 AM
holly super ants! has anyone tried this service, looks like they are all S1 Ants?

mBigas-com

I won an hour of 180GH/s for $1.05 on flea-bay. I know it won't mine anything close to the cost but not a bad solution for folks that want coins and don't have the technical resources or verified access to Bitcoin markets.

180GH will mine .00054 btc in 1 hour

@ $498 a coin you will make about .30 usd.  Thats not a great deal if you paid $1.05

Better off to go buy some btc at localbitcoins.com at 5-20% inflated prices

We would like to inform you that you have made it in to the queue of 400 Jupiter 3TH miners. Production is currently ongoing and we expect to begin shipping the miners out from Tuesday 22nd April. All miners are expected to be shipped out before the end of that week.

We would also like to remind you that each Jupiter 3TH miner will require either 3 x 1200W power supplies or 6 x 650W power supplies with 80+ certification and a total of 18 PCI-E power cables.

Regards

KnC Miner Team.

am i missing something but when i plug the numbers in on the jupiter 3th miner on www.thegenesisblock.com at 57% diff rise a month (imho low) ...it looks really really ugly or am i missing something obvious (ie you are selling them asap on ebay?)

If you had one today it would probably make $4000 in its lifetime if btc stays near $500.

@   2100 watts power use

well:     I get  360 watts on a 120 volt seasonic 750 platinum psu for 350ghz at the k-watt plug
           I get 379 watts "   "   "      "      "          "        "           "    " 375ghz  at the k-watt plug
           I get 396 -401 watts ---------------------------------------------  400 ghz at the k-watt plug

but that is my most efficient psu  my worst is a 1000 watt bronze it gets 423 watts  for 400ghz

I dumped a server 750 watt since it did 475 watts for 400ghz

Platinumn or Gold?  The Seasonic Gold series uses 650, 750, 850 watts.  The Platinum uses 660, 760, 860 watts.

Those are pretty good readings, I was getting 410-415+ watts on a 375 ghz Antminer with a Seasonic platinum 760 and 860, 360-375 watts  on stock 350ghz.
1566  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 18, 2014, 12:49:03 AM
How about a panoramic?

Can you guess which one I had to set-up in a hurry without all the shelves I needed? If one of those S1's in the center dies, it's staying dead! lol, they're all zip tied together!

Can you tell which are the Batch 1 and which are the Batch 2+? hint: LCD Backlights

Very impressive, 52-54TH?
1567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 16, 2014, 11:37:04 PM
And to think for a moment they would make modules for both the october and november units. Looks like I have an october unit. I remember there being talk of mixing them, but don't recall how that went.

They could have sold Oct boards at any time from Oct to Feb, people were begging. They didn't because they had none, they didn't produce anymore than the limited upgrade batch even. There's only one logical place these boards are coming from. Their own farm. Quite a large farm since Oct. it seems.

Yes, the farm is moving out alot of used and outdated equipment.

By the way, they have more than 1 farm  =:0
1568  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.885 BTC for 180GH/s on: April 16, 2014, 06:41:25 PM

They need to update power info on the Neptune, it says 1200 watts for 3TH, I understood it to be around 22-2400?

--> http://coinchomp.com/2014/01/06/the-knc-miner-neptune-should-consume-at-least-4500-watts/

Actually they just released the specs today that they hope will draw 2100 watts max. KNC:

"Upgrade cards.
We have also released 400 upgrade cards for those of you who wish to still purchase them. They are being shipped from stock and the first boxes have already left with UPS yesterday. Each card is now only 350USD plus shipping. You can order upgrade cards here

Jupiter 3TH
The window for conversions has now closed we have had over 400 conversions which means we are actively trying to fill all of the orders we have but we will contact customers individually if they are too far back in the queue to be converted. The good news is that the shipment for these orders will begin Tuesday next week after the Easter holidays and we expect it to take only a few days to have all boxes shipped out to customers.

Neptune Power Requirements
While we will not release the maximum performance of the Neptune miner we can now release the required power supply to give people time to purchase them. The maximum power draw will be 2100w of power and we recommend this to be either two 1200w power supplies or three 850watt power supplies. This does include a bit of a safety margin on our side and of course underclocking will be possible to reduce the power requirements even more.

Thanks
KnCMiner Team"

No one is being forced to buy. Those that are good at math will sit on the fence.

Good in math for 0.885 Grin ? price is way to high, with this price ROI = 3 months maybe more depends how much you pay for electricity, bitcoin price and difficulty, after that you will be making what ? $1/day --> http://www.vnbitcoin.org/bitcoincalculator.php

Well that would be nice but I would be very surprised if they actually did.  And I can't emphasize the "very" enough!  Then I will have doubled my hash from 4THs to 8THs in one week (just got S2 today).
Nice! Good to hear bitmain are shipping on time. Knc could learn a thing or two from them  Cheesy

I think its more tricky wording from them.

Customers will be contacted after 7 days, not that the shipping will start.

They say that "After 7 days from today the exchange will be frozen" and "The products will then be shipped from stock as soon as possible"

So the only question - how long is "as soon as possible"?

If they have these in stock, as they claim, then "as soon as possible" should mean straight away, right?

If it's in stock, then all they need is a UPS label.

I think we'll find out if knc truly had 400 "in stock" if they ship before the end of this week. Or whether they were misleading customers - again - with phoney delivery dates.

I have a question:

Did they just manufacture these on the assembly line or they had them somewhere but it was new and unused???  confused
1571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 15, 2014, 11:33:49 PM
I think its more tricky wording from them.

Customers will be contacted after 7 days, not that the shipping will start.

Could there possibly be some delays in contacting customers?  delay by offering another deal or incentives

Some delays counting the 400?

Then they say items will be shipped as soon as possible?

Well dag if time is needed to contact customers, wait for replies and then count the 400, then prepare units (preparation is X factor also), then ship.

Its another dragged out delay tactic, all well planned.

Shipments could be April, May, June.

In the end I think they are grateful that they have somewhere to unload the older equipment, as they upgrade the datacenters to the Neptunes.

S1's made it from Alaska to Kentucky for Today's delivery, S2 says Tuesday, but I doubt that..
And yes my Brain is just fine, GPU mining SUCKED!! burning 3KW to earn $15.00 a day, verses ASIC burning 3KW to earn $75.00 a day. Maybe my brain is wired wrong but I thought more money was the idea?
Flight UPS77 http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS77 Come on Tuesday!
Yes, it sucked.  But if you were in it for the long-term you held onto those coins and that $15 turned into a lot more.
Yes they did! Because we all spent a boat load of monies on ASIC, which assisted in increasing the price of BTC. Had we stayed with GPU/FPGA, BTC may only be worth $50 right now. DO I think HUGE data center mines suck, well sure in the short term, but if/when they do fall on their faces because that is how Satoshi designed the coin, there should be plenty of cheap hardware and at least a plateauing of difficulty, so hopefully long term these ASIC data centers become blessings.

Huge data centers have higher costs because they have to pay for rent and maintenance.  The electricity discount rates wash out because they have to run more power for the cooling.

The only advantage is if you sleep with a asic manufacturer and get chips or machines at close to wholesale cost before anyone else.

Actually, data center costs are all to do with location.
If you do as KNC have done and build your data centre on the edge of the arctic circle then there is unlimited free cooling by just opening the door.
They also built it next door to a hydro-electric dam, so plenty of cheap green electricity too.
And they rented an existing building, not built it from scratch, so start-up costs were kept low and operation start-up time was minimised.
Needless to say they made the ASIC mining machines at cost price and are now minting their own money big time.
Sadly with the cost of the S2's I can't afford to do the same thing.
I guess Bitmain doesn't want to move to Sweden either.  Smiley

Yeah they built the dc with mostly the Neptune pre-order money.

Bitmain is ok, they can build and manufacture the asic equipment faster and probably cheaper. Just from late Nov to March they pushed out 6-8 PH

1576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 14, 2014, 08:21:00 PM
based on the last couple of pages I just read I guess things aren't looking so rosy for those who pre ordered some miners recently which is a shame.  I liked what KNC was offering at first but I guess things have changed in the mining game faster then many of us thought it would?

Who would know the difficulty would be 1000x harder now than last spring.  Even though the btc price increased 6x.
1577  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: April 14, 2014, 08:10:29 PM
Because they need the time to mine more coins and convert to fiat.
