I noticed just today about 700TH was added to the network today. Is this mainly because of the first batch Antminer s2, some Cointerra

Just received my lone S2. I can confirm that the straps on the box do nothing but entice the driver to sling it around 1-handedly as I watched the man grab it and bounce it off the 2-steps of his truck. The package is well worn around the edges for just 3-day trip and has nice rip into the side. Unboxing now. Bad note, I can hear things rolling around inside the box already. Do any of the deliveries have a fragile sticker on the box at all? It doesn't sound like they're being handled appropriately. The 5 to 10 PH spike is probably the antminer s2 coming online and finalizing testing. 6000 to 10000 units would not surprise me.
I don't think bitmain made that many units in the first two batches.... Would definitely be a surprise to me.... They made enough s1 to push 20% of hashrate when it was 30+ Thats alot of antminer s1 lets say 6 to 7 ph. 33k to 38k machines. Batch 1 pre orders shipped 2nd batch this week about 3-5k machines for those two. alone. And alot extra for the public launch. and building 3xtra ones on the side. I believe they can ramp up design and manufacture faster than any other company to push out products.

Mining will be dead by June.
Hashrate will be 15 Billion. By September it will cost more in electricity to run than the btc it mines.
2TH miner will make less than $950 lifetime if BTC stays under $500
Mining will never die bro True, but they wont be profitable anymore.

I remember when BFL Jalys 5GH were selling for $3500-5000 on FleaBay.
Now 9 months later they use more electricity than the BTC they generate. Basically paperweights now.

So...I'm really confused about bitmain's business model. Right now they have literally NOTHING for sale...every product is sold out...even U2's in MOQs of 500 are "coming soon". Does anyone know what's actually going on with these guys?
They are using most of the bm chips for the s2 right now.

The scam site link was placed all over the wiki. I've corrected every last one. There was more than one geez thanks Tara's for fixing them all Guess that 0.00001 got you in front of the line XD Wonder if there was a user who did that in all cases then they should be flagged and deleted if its all one person putting up a fake site. Thats the problem with wiki: the author of the article was the "scammer" and included his own link. And they made alot of other articles too.

Yeah he changed that back twice again.
He undid the edit.
Now took most of details off page except for fake link.

If I was a hacker and got robbed I would ddos their site everyday.
make a post about it so google can search and archive it.
I hope noone bought the 10000 chip set.
this is a clear example people against btc will use against the crypto currency that there are no fraud and chargeback procedures.

The s1 probably wont be coming back as they are using all the chips for the over priced s2.
4 s1 at 720gh oc to 820gh is alot cheaper than $3600 s2 at 1th
I know the s2 saves some power but the life expectancy cycle is only 60 days anyway for new asic machines.

That fake website is crazy look a like. With only s added to domain name.
|
|
|
They are forcing people to buy the s2 because of the higher profit margin.

There are millions and millions of 40nm 55 nm 56nm and 65nm chips out there too now that noone talks about.
|
|
|
Possible.
Or just buy at coinbase for less hassle as they use bitstamp price.

well, there IS this little website called eBay... Also, try minersource.net. Lastly, rumor has it Bitmain is culling it's S1 inventory and discontinuing S1 production in favor of the S2. I think they are blowing out the remaining s1s. Full speed ahead on the s2 for now. Im guessing 10000 units will be on the market soon.

I haven't been watching individual pools, but the network hash rate(last 504 blocks) over the last few days increase by ~10,000TH. The last ~24 hrs it has come down by ~4,000TH, which I'm sure the drop is very temporary. Difficulty just increased by 22%, it's already estimated at 23% for the next increase. This latest hash rate surge is I think the largest bump in a short time period to date.
Could be the Neptunes testing or Bitmains s2 or AsicMiner has the A3 chips ready

Thanks for the update/review

Yes.
But how do we acquire the machine without having to spend money to purchase it.
