If you think this is bad, wait till April 1st I'm sure it'll be April Troll Day on here.

Why because in MtGox the price is one, and on the others is other, and why MtGox always have a higher price for bitcoin?
I'd avoid using MtGox altogether, unless you're prepared to wait ages for your money to go in or come out.

I am completely new to the idea of alternate currency and am intrigued by its possibilities. I'm thankful to have a great job as I am sure this is not something that will help me retire early independently wealthy. I am interested to hear other's success stories, if any. For instance, has anyone seriously earned any real income from any of this on here?
Of course it's possible to make real income or make enough to retire on from either Bitcoin or alts. There are plenty of people who have become multi-millionaires from their investments/dealings with Bitcoins and other cryptos.

I get an error saying that I have recently been searching too much even if I haven't searched for days. And today I logged in and tried to make a post and it said that My last posts was less than 360 seconds ago...?? I JUST logged in. Any thoughts because this is truly getting annoying.
Sounds like the account is screwed up good and proper. Contact the forum admins Nah, he's just not waiting the full 6 minutes after logging in and searching. Ah ok, sounded like he logged in fresh the next day and got the same error. My bad He will do if he doesn't wait 6 minutes before posting etc. It's a common misconception that it's a bug or an error, but even I thought it was at first .

It's in the wrong section, so probably. But then again, around half of the threads in the newb section are, so I don't know how productive it will be to keep reporting them daily, and also whether the mods will get pissed off with all the "in the wrong section" reports that come flooding in constantly.

you won't need to use a trusted escrow to hold on to the funds
Why's that? Will you trust complete strangers with your money?

hi, i am new in these, i whant to open an wallet bitcoin but i dont know what is the best secure wallet to open?
Well that depends on what your needs are. Wallets are only as safe and secure as their users. I'd recommend starting with an online blockchain.info wallet and setting up all the security features.

I personally like the idea of a USB wallet, so that's what I am trying out for now.
Make sure you have several back-ups or burn the wallet.dat file to discs etc.

Six votes and no one wants to say what coin they are here for? Come on someone must be here for Doge.
Well the polling options aren’t perfect. I came here for Bitcoin, but quickly gained interest in others (LTC, FTC mainly). A lot of the newbs tend to come here by whatever new alt coin is hyped up that they've heard about (Doge, Kanye etc).

The best payment option is Paypal. Haha. Excuse me whilst I do a chargeback.

Great line from the Overstock CEO: "It helps us fight the machine" (big banks/government) This is a great line. Depending on the success of this roll out (if it yields good returns for overstock), I am sure that many retailers will follow suit. I am kind of curious to see how this will affect the over all value of 1 btc, if they get an overwhelming number of orders, and just immediately sell the btc back into USD via whatever exchange they have the agreement with? Dumb question, but which exchange are they going to use? Have they publicly said? What do you mean? They use an automatic payment processor.

hey all, been reading the forums for a while now and decided I wanted to start post here now as well! Been mining, I'm new to this as well, and just wondering if there's a lot of scammers here or is it relative safe? Got scammed on another site so hoping this will prove better. Also, if got any recommendations for escrow I would love to hear it. // Freyja There are lots of scammers around here. Always use a trusted escrow on deals. A list of them can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=108716.0

This honestly infringes on our design we built from scratch and I look down upon anyone who uses this design/script. I love competition that innovates, people who use this design are just thieves.
Woah, It really does. Can you sue them or can they get into trouble for this type of infringement?

Here's a list of trusted escrows: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=108716.0What altcoins are you looking to trade? Not sure which of those deal with all altcoins especially since there's so many popping up.

Oh well it was too good to be true .Offering these rates for existing posts is just near to impossible as the owner would need to pay at least 100 BTC for all customers monthly. That is one clue to it being a scam -- 'too good to be true' should ring loud alarm bells, much louder than the 'greed' people are feeling. While this a good rule, most of the people I meet say Bitcoin sounds to good to be true and assume it's a scam . Those people who think bitcoin is 'too good to be true' need some more education on the subject as they are not aware of all the facts. Well, they're right to be sceptical, especially if something appears to be too good to be true. I have more respect for people who are sceptical but don't make a decision until they've studied all the facts as opposed to those who are sold on something as a solid investment within five minutes.

If you pay with your CC in a store, you still say the store accepts the CC. Even though they get fiat from the CC company.
The credit card itself is based on fiat. Overstock does not accept BTC for a later use to...restock itself using BTC to pay it's suppliers. Etc... That would be an actual acceptance of BTC. What they offer is a way for you to pay in BTC but what they accept is fiat. You don't know if they are not keeping some parts of profits in BTC. Anyway, it is great news, we should be all proud to be part of it. If this is not great news, i don't know what people more want to hear to understand that Bitcoin is BIG DEAL. Well if they're using Bitpay then they instantly turn it into fiat.
