17121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock.com's News on Accepting Bitcoin, Underwhelming Price Boost. on: January 10, 2014, 06:39:28 PM
If you have bitcoin and you aren't spending any of it, you are not helping the cause whatsoever, and ultimately just hurting yourself.

Not quite. Individual self-interest conflicts with group self-interest. As long as people expect the price to dramatically increase, they won't spend. Virtually no one will spend coins out of altruism to the group of all bitcoin holders.

Instead of buying stuff with cash, buy Bitcoins and use them straight away. You can still hoard whilst promoting BTC.

this is another place to use bitcoin as a currency instead of as an investment which is great. Things will start to get really interesting when stores like this can actually use the btc rather than convert to $ immediately. Once they can use BTC to pay their suppliers, or their employees, then BTC will truly be a real currency and the overall value will rise.

I agree. I hope this will happen in the future.
17122  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anybody know where John K went? on: January 10, 2014, 06:30:15 PM
He hasn't logged in since November. Anybody know if he's on vacation or something?

Is he holding any money in escrow?
17123  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Uruguay legalized Marijuanna, goes into effect April on: January 10, 2014, 06:27:24 PM
You ever drive while high?  You compensate a lot more and drive more carefully.

I've only crashed once high, five times or so sober.  I go hard on the road.

Anyways, if you die while intoxicated in a car accident, that is blunt force trauma killing you, not the substance.

Wow.  Six crashes (you can remember) at your age, when you have only been driving for a few years.  You clearly don't have the aptitude/awareness needed for driving.

When I was your age, I drove taxi for one year every day from 6pm to 6am.  I made my money getting to fares before other drivers, so I drove a lot harder than you, for longer periods.  I've had zero crashes in my 30 years of driving.  I also chased down and arrested at least a dozen impaired drivers during that year.

What pisses me off is impaired drivers, for they are endangering other people.  And YOU, like all the other IDIOTS, think you are a better driver while impaired.

I've sent an email off to your PD with your name, picture, DOB and a link to this message where you admitted breaking the law.

Listen dank, if you want to wreck your brain, fine.  Don't put other people's lives as risk.  That makes you an asshole.

Edit:  If anyone else wants to contact the police (you should, since they will take multiple complaints more seriously) the address is policeinfo@raleighnc.gov

I agree, but he's probably just trolling to be honest.
17124  Economy / Economics / Re: Wants to break down the $-Supremacy? on: January 10, 2014, 06:23:05 PM
Hi guys!

Do you want the secret recipe to break into pieces the US Supremacy and $ over the world?

Here is the recipe:

1 - Start an Oil Company

2 - Accept only Bitcoin as payment

3 - Countries will run to you, because it means they won't have to hold $ reserve and won't have to be taxed by USA anymore (today you can only purchase Oil with $).

4 - Get some good Indian, Chinese and Jewish friends

5 - Wait until the end of WWIII

6 - Get Money Fuck Bitches

This is a lol post obviously.

I don't think it'd work out exactly like that Grin, Maybe if we as a species can get off our oil addiction and move away to alternative fuels we can fuck the oil companies this way.
17125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How hard to make own coin ? on: January 10, 2014, 06:21:18 PM
Is making a new currency something any noob can do, or does one need some skills first ?

If you take a look at this forum you'll probably see that it's not very hard  Grin.
17126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One Day, What if... on: January 10, 2014, 06:19:15 PM
I would finally build my nuke and kill all of you.

Hhaha bit misanthropic, but I reckon sometimes I'd probably be tempted if I had the cash  Grin.
17127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Overstock.com/Hoarder's Dilemma on: January 10, 2014, 06:15:03 PM
In the spirit of spreading the Bitcoin economy, I am buying a tablet from overstock.com. Maybe others will follow the lead of overstock if they see it worth their while. In order to keep the value of my portfolio I will be buying new BTC at the same price I paid for the tablet. The more we spend, the more our coins will be worth in the end. If you spend any BTC, just purchase new BTC at the same time, there is no reason to hoard.

Am I missing something with this logic?

Nope. It's a good idea. Just don't regret buying something with BTC if the value skyrockets and you wish you'd've kept it instead, but hold your head high knowing you did your bit to promote the use of the currency for the good of all of us  Cheesy.

If I am going to buy a product anyway I might as well support the best currency on the market!  Cool

Yup, that's true. I might follow your logic too  Smiley.
17128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do YOU want Bitcoin to do for you in the coming years? on: January 10, 2014, 06:10:23 PM
I want my bitcoin to magically turn into many, many, many green dollars.  Shocked Grin
I thought the whole point of Bitcoin was to get rid of those green dollars.

I'm coming to the conclusion the point of Bitcoin has been lost and its different things for different people, but often not really what they think.

Haha, as with all good ideas, capitalists and greedy pigs swarm all over it and tarnish a revolutionary idea whilst completely missing the point altogether.
17129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All this mining is ultimately meaningless on: January 10, 2014, 06:00:18 PM
Confidence Chains does everything bitcoin does, has a better privacy model, and requires no mining.

Also supports credit, futures, options and other thing yet to be explained.  Clients do not require a huge data structure to run.

Where can I get some?

a basic prototype is coming out soon.  Also if you want a t-shirt I'll send you one, just PM me. Smiley

http://altchain.org

(note: seems the moderators here don't want me over-promoting this site so I have to stay on topic)

yeah you do like to put your URL in your posts Smiley probably better in the sig, then the mods won't hassle you!

not looking to spam this board but I do occasionally link the site when I think it's relevant.  They haven't hassled me but do give me a handicap, for instance my *number of posts* is permanently set at a given number.

What really? You sure that's not just your activity? You'll probably get posts deleted or warnings if you're spamming referral links or excessively promoting a site, but in your sig is fine.
17130  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overstock.com NOW accepting bitcoins as payment! on: January 10, 2014, 05:56:53 PM
I just ordered something and checked out with bitcoin so it is not a rumor, it is a fact and works just fine.

Please try to find something you need on there and order it and pay with BTC so we can reward them for making this bold step and helping our community and the world as a whole.

^This

We need to show support for them taking a risk with adopting BTC as payment.  Even if you don't need something, buy something small so they can report high transaction counts.

I agree. What is their international site which ships to the UK? Are products sent over from America or do they have European distribution.

Paying with BTC is only an option for items shipped to the US right now, other countries might be added later.

I know, pretty sure they said they will implement it later, but I wanted to know if they only ship from Stateside.

17132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How cryptocurrency is applicable to adult webcam? on: January 10, 2014, 05:48:36 PM
And why are you so interested in Bitcoin and camgirls?  Grin

I provide info to models, how they can make more income, if they goes out from studios, because new models have no idea how business work and how to apply to cam sites.
There are some independent models too, but they are with low SEO knowleges, and normally they all are on MFC.

So you're basically a pimp?  Grin
17133  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dogecoin on: January 10, 2014, 05:45:27 PM
Sorry guys, I didnīt see anything about it in this Forum, so I would like to know more about this crypto.

I saw that it is in the 4th place in volume on that site
http://coinmarketcap.com/

It was creates at the middle of december, is that right? It worths $ 0,00029 fiat, and we can buy dogecoins at Cryptsy, Vircurex, Coins-e, and bter.

Did you ever listen about it??

Thanks   Smiley

Volume just means there's shitloads of them being traded because there's shitloads of coins which isn't a good thing.
17134  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do people not put their Bitcoins in Cold Storage? on: January 10, 2014, 05:42:49 PM
you will win a lot of Ģ while doing that and probably  you will get much high price

I don't understand what your saying.

This guy was either a spambot or posting jibberish and has now been banned. Just ignore his posts because they're nonsense.
17135  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How cryptocurrency is applicable to adult webcam? on: January 10, 2014, 05:41:06 PM

The models don't give anybody a show until they've got paid just like they would any other way. In fact with CC they do because they wont receive the money instantly unless anyway. You send BTC to the models then when they receive either the first confirmation or them all - doesn't really matter - you get your show. Simple. You're making this more complicated than it already is with your limited understanding of Bitcoin and how it works.

Why on my link they talking about 12-24 hours for confirmation??

Sure, i have no clue, how it work for instant services. I only listen, that is recommended to wait some 12 hours for cheap items to deliver and more, if items are expensive.

Make sure to pay a tiny fee and the payment will get there in a jiffy.

And why are you so interested in Bitcoin and camgirls?  Grin
17136  Other / Meta / Re: Every time I try to post this happens... on: January 10, 2014, 05:34:46 PM
I see.

That makes sense though, if I was running a forum as popular as this I would probably institute such measures.

It just sucks when you dont know the rules. But now I know.  Smiley

Thanks for your response guy! you 50-plus-activity, dont-have-to-wait-for-360-seconds guys.  Wink

I'm sure you'll be there soon if you keep up your fruitful participations  Wink.
17137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how do you become an escrow? on: January 10, 2014, 05:16:47 PM
teach me!

You have to gain peoples' trust by showing that you are trustworthy. It can take years to achieve this though.

You can read about escrow:

17138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinye - NEWBIE questions. on: January 10, 2014, 05:14:05 PM
I really don't know what real purpose it will serve, as far as its usefulness goes. I'm not sure too many merchants will be jumping at the chance to start accepting Coinyes. However, that doesn't mean it can't or won't have any value. Doge proved that. It is simply the most recently hyped trendcoin. I'm actually expecting it to gain a reasonable value, not just in spite of Kanye ..but because of the stance Kanye has taken against it. Just need to see what happens if/when it hits an exchange.

and welcome!

What do any of these alts serve? They're just get rich pump and dump schemes. They die off when they become unprofitable to mine.
17139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How cryptocurrency is applicable to adult webcam? on: January 10, 2014, 05:06:00 PM
When you send credit card transactions or PP
PP block accounts for adult cam shows, and froze money.
RedPass and Payoneer working OK, but Payoneer updated recently TOS about "porn", and not allow more related payments.

I'm sure there will be a payment processor that comes out that deals strictly with adult services and the like. Why don't you design one and become rich?
17140  Other / Meta / Re: Paid signatures poll on: January 10, 2014, 05:03:20 PM
I like that the OP has a more annoying signature than my paid signature Cheesy

Annoying? I just like webdesign, k? Tongue

I personally find it both annoying and offensive*, therefore must be banned. And I just like getting paid to post, k?  Grin

*I don't really, but if I did I would just deal with it or ignore you or turn sigs off.

Does anyone know if turning sigs off also turn yours off publicly, or can you still have one that others can still see?
* whiskers75 reminds himself not to feed the trolls.

Why am I a troll or trolling but you're not? This is my point about how people can post crap and spam and troll and have garish signatures but it's seemingly only a problem if you have a paid signature. It's completely hypocritical.
