17221  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overstock.com NOW accepting bitcoins as payment! on: January 09, 2014, 08:33:29 PM
yep - thats it

The Grand Experiment Goes Live: Overstock.com Is Now Accepting Bitcoins

Now we can wait for short until the other shops follow up ..

Great line from the Overstock CEO: "It helps us fight the machine" (big banks/government)

Not exactly when they turn it instantly back to fiat, but I guess it's a start.

I got it up to 0.01200000 then went for double or quits and lost it fuuuuuuuu Angry

That's pretty impressive if you started from the faucet.

Nah, It was from the 0.002 credit giveaway.
17223  Other / Meta / Re: Image proxy? on: January 09, 2014, 08:01:05 PM
is the image showing up ?

Can I upload images to my own webserver and link to them, like I did here?

No, not showing. All images are proxied automatically when they're posted here.
17224  Other / Meta / Re: Image proxy? on: January 09, 2014, 07:57:42 PM
I posted an image in my post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404799.msg4414525#msg4414525

Above it, it has red font saying invaild image, bitcoin forum proxy.

what does that mean and how do i use the image proxy?

All images are now proxied. It's probably too big so just resize it and try again.

Can we change the PD weblink in our sig to the affiliate link?
17228  Economy / Services / Re: Earn upto 0.6 BTC per month for your signature! on: January 09, 2014, 07:09:20 PM
Even if it is a scam (looks too good to be true), it doesn't prevent us from making some real money with it. Though I agree, we in this case are not much in fact very different from the OP we all condemn here now for scamming, lol...

Yeah, but you could say that about pyramid selling Grin.

Well, many people consider bitcoin a pyramid scheme. Aren't they the same peeps that think it too good to be true? So it is all six of one and half a dozen of the other...

But those people are wrong.

They may well be. But this was not my point. But never mind. Just look for an Economics subsection of this forum where some will just be happy and eager to prove you otherwise...

They will prove me wrong that Bitcoin is a not a pyramid scheme?

I've meant to say eager to prove that it is you who are wrong meaning that those people are actually right (about their assumptions that bitcoin is a financial pyramid)...

I'm sure the opposite is also true and people will be eager to prove them wrong too  Cheesy.

Oh well it was too good to be true

Roll Eyes .Offering these rates for existing posts is just near to impossible as the owner would need to pay at least 100 BTC for all customers monthly.
That is one clue to it being a scam -- 'too good to be true' should ring loud alarm bells, much louder than the 'greed' people are feeling.

While this a good rule, most of the people I meet say Bitcoin sounds to good to be true and assume it's a scam  Cheesy.

17232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pot Goes on Sale in Colorado: Cash or Bitcoin Only on: January 09, 2014, 06:48:20 PM
Isn't marijuana only a gateway drug if it's illegal, because illegal drug dealers aren't limited to only ever selling a single drug; so if you want to "upgrade" all you have to do is ask? It's not like government-run dispensaries would should have cocaine, meth, ecstasy, etc. in the back.

It's only a gateway drugs according to the powers that be. Only a fool thinks this gateway drug theory is true.

I have made alot of posts with the signature, could I get some payment now?

You can only have one signature with PD and people get paid on the 17th for the sig deals, but as the user above said, your posts probably wont count now.

I remember some guys quickly switched to that scam just after they had received payment from Stunna... Where are they all now?

No, you can't get your payment early AND you can't get a loan if your collateral is the signature.

I didn't quite get what you meant to say here by getting a loan and signature being a collateral, but nevertheless this guy was pretty fast on the trigger...

Think he was saying you can't get any money up front for the signature. Although maybe you could get a loan in the loan section if you promised to pay on sig payday  Cheesy.

17236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinye West - Don't f**k with this coin on: January 09, 2014, 06:19:00 PM
Anyone Selling Coinyecoins on ebay prepare to have them removed in voilation of some sort of policy I have never heard of before.
just got this and had all my listings removed.

From ebay:

Hello XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
After reviewing your eBay account, it appears that you have violated eBay's Brand Name Misuse policy. As a result, we've taken the following action on your account:
- Violating listings have been removed. A list of removed items is available further down in this email.
- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).

Adding brand, celebrity, or manufacturer names to a listing that was not made by that company, person, or manufacturer isn't allowed.

Making comparisons or including unrelated terms in your listing may confuse buyers who may not be clear about what is actually being offered. This can result in an unsuccessful transaction and may also lead to a buyer claim being filed.

To avoid any problems in the future, please use only terms that describe your item accurately.

For more information on our search and browse manipulation policy, go to:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/search-manipulation.html

If you have more questions, contact our policy experts:
http://ocsnext.ebay.co.uk/ocs/cusr?query=1387&domain=email1254

Please be sure your future listings follow these guidelines. If they don't, they may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.

Here are the listings that were removed:
151206107042 - 10,000 CoinyeCoin - Crypto Currency like Bitcoin, lightcoin,dogecoin,coinyewest
151206184495 - 1,000 CoinyeCoin - Crypto Currency like Bitcoin, lightcoin,dogecoin

Hahahaha. Kanye is the biggest douchetool in the Universe. How is that a misuse of brand names? Coinye West - Don't f**k with this coin indeed.
17237  Other / Meta / Re: Paid signatures poll on: January 09, 2014, 06:11:51 PM
They're not allowed in posts, but sigs are fine I think.
Really? I never saw this in the rules
Also there are a decent number of referral links posted regularly

Pretty sure. Just report them. I've reported quite a few and they have all been accepted.

Surely when people call it 'libertarian' they just mean it operates (or tries to operate) with as much liberty and freedom and with as little intervention from authority/mods as possible?
