1501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Those with an incentive to attack the bitcoin network on: July 16, 2015, 01:19:04 AM
One possible offender that wasn't mentioned are sidechain operators. A group like Blockstream is more than a likely offender of the current spam attack.
1502  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Biz's [STORE] Med-High Tier D2 items, CS:GO Keys @ (1.95$), 6K MMR Solo, More on: July 16, 2015, 01:12:40 AM
Hey, just curious, do you also buy items for Bitcoin? Or are you solely a seller? Also, are keys $1.95 regardless of the case they are associated with, or does the rarity of the case change the value?
1503  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crashing! Is this the beginning of the end for bitcoins? on: July 16, 2015, 01:02:30 AM
So many trolls in this thread. Bitcoin has gotten to the point to where it has proven its legitimacy and benefit to the general public. The digital currency is here to stay, and no slight drop in price warrants a doomsday panic.
1504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's going up with this address!! on: July 15, 2015, 08:06:20 PM
Someone has been spamming the blockchain by constantly sending minimum sized transactions to several dozen simple brainwallets (others include dog and cat) for about a week now. This is one of the wallets he/she is sending money to and fro.
1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Games to earn Hyper? on: July 14, 2015, 11:29:42 PM
Are there any CS:GO servers I can play to earn hyper or a similar sltcoin? I know leet.gg can be used to earn Bitcoins but it's unavailable in my area (US).
1506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It truely begins on: July 14, 2015, 10:50:06 PM
This is why Bitcoin is here to stay. Regardless of what happens in the future, Bitcoin will always be an outlet for those that need freedom to use their currency as they please.
1507  Economy / Gambling / Re: try your chess skills for bitcoin on: July 14, 2015, 10:41:36 PM
Does anyone play on here yet? I checked on the site a couple times recently and there were no games to join. I understand I run a risk of playing against a bot but I would like to give it a shot either way.
1508  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: July 14, 2015, 10:33:38 PM
If Bitcoin was dead this thread would not have 19 pages of responses. Furthermore the recent surge and price proves that Bitcoin is still alive and healthy.
1509  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best poker bitcoin site with most bettors ? on: July 14, 2015, 10:23:21 PM
SWC Poker is the largest in terms of Bitcoin exclusive poker. Betcoin has more overall players but that is largely due to the site hosting tournaments that players on other sites have access to. The number of players that connect through Betcoin is lower than that on SWC.
1510  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: July 14, 2015, 10:09:15 PM
What do you think? I think I might be close. I'm guessing $10,000 per bitcoin by then.

100K maybe, but I highly doubt Bitcoin will increase in value to $10,000 in just 5 years. If this is the case, I imagine some sort of event would have to take place that challenges the stability of the USD.
1511  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is the Chinese mentality so risky? on: July 14, 2015, 10:05:26 PM
Yes, China is a gambling culture, much larger than the US. Gambling is deeply entrenched in Chinese culture, which explains their nature in regards to the stock market as well as Bitcoin market.
1512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: The End of Money as We Know It documentary is out! on: July 14, 2015, 09:47:53 PM
I've heard good thingd about this documentary, can't wait to buy it with BTC and watch it when I get home.
1513  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] Should Signatures Be Banned? on: July 14, 2015, 05:44:10 AM
Despite the annoyance of signature spammers, signature campaigns have, at least in my opinion, an overall positive effect on the community. With Signature campaigns, anyone can acquire a solid amount of Bitcoins. Furthermore, the campaigns promote active use of the forums (as opposed to lurking) and reward users for spending more time on the forums.
1514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC needs the trust of masses on: July 14, 2015, 05:13:11 AM
Bitcoin is stable. Look at the fluctuations in value of the other popular currencies. Everything fluctuates, Bitcoin is no exception. The fluctuations in price are just a factor of the bigger system.
1515  Other / Meta / Re: Cloudminr.io is selling his database with some real proof on: July 14, 2015, 04:12:20 AM
After seeing the first 1k users posted on the site yesterday, I tried logging into the gmails of maybe 10 accounts. 5 out of 10 were using the same passwords on cloudminr.io and gmail. Luckily, 4/5 had 2FA enabled, and the other account was disabled by google due to suspicious activity. Either way, from the small sample it became apparent a lot of users are in danger of having their information compromised on many sites. Hopefully everyone who had an account with cloudminr finds out about this and takes appropriate security measures.
1516  Economy / Economics / Re: We Are Seeing The Effects Of The Minimum Wage Rise In San Francisco on: July 14, 2015, 03:45:16 AM
The whole concept of Minimum Wage is flawed, because it stems from centrally-planned resource allocation. It doesn't solve any problem but only creates new ones. Competition can't be eliminated via decree, it will always find ways of circumvention.

The truth is that in future low-skilled workers will have a very hard time to get any job. Minimum Wage will make the problem only worse, because workers will be more expensive, so their replacement by machines will be accelerated.

ya.ya.yo!

Employment for low-skilled folks would be much higher without a minimum wage.  It definitely doesn't benefit the employer or the customer.  It artificially benefits those that have minimum wage jobs, at the cost of having others unemployed altogether.

Low-skilled/minimum wage jobs should be a steppingstone for people entering the workforce or making ends meet.  People need to better understand that it's not a place to have a life long career.

Its definitely not a place to have a life long career, a person just can't survive for so many years flipping burgers. And that is a much more comfortable job than others. With the inflation and the increase of price, how much would he even get even if his wage is a little high? We all should educate one another and find more creative and effecient jobs which might benefit more! Grow. Don't do the same job for more than 10 years.

Exactly, the idea of the minimum wage isn't that you can make a career doing anything, the idea is that minimal wage jobs allow teenagers a place to start, to move onto better things. Minimum wage shouldn't be elevated to the point where everyone is living luxuriously off of minimum wage, the only effect this will have is increasing the cost of living and destroying small businesses.
1517  Economy / Gambling / Re: What percent of internet Bitcoin poker is Luck vs Skill? on: July 13, 2015, 10:30:00 PM
In my opinion, poker is 51% skill and 49% luck.
For example- If it was 100% luck, there were no players that will win so much tournaments, and there is almost no way to see amateur player in the final table of WSOP.

I perceived the question slightly differently.
Sure, if it is about WSOP, I'd say its mostly skill, with an element of luck.
But, when talking about Online Bitcoin Poker, there is a significantly lower skill level, particularly due to lower stakes.
To go for the WSOP, you have to pay 10k$, to play online though, you can even play freerolls and start off. The high stakes community is not too active (there are occasional high rollers) and I'd guess atleast 90% of the players gamble under 10$ in an average session. I doubt many players have actual strategies, or prior practice.
So, while your idea of more luck than skill may hold true for WSOP, it probably does not hold true for online Bitcoin poker.

I would actually disagree that WSOP is more skill involved than online poker. By watching any amount of WSOP on television, you can see people staying alive due to lucky draws all the time. Regardless of the skill of a player has, an incredible amount of luck is needed to make it to that final table. If WSOP was mostly skill, you would see mostly the same faces each final table.

As far as online poker goes, I would say its 50/50. Realistically, you can play enough hands to where if you are a good player you will consistently profit. However, for the more casual players, who play in tourneys every now and then, luck is easily as important as skill, but it doesn't play as big of a role (imo) as it does in WSOP.
1518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: July 13, 2015, 10:09:32 PM
I've spent a lot of time trying to come up with the best ways to earn Bitcoin, and after trying a lot of methods, it became apparent that the most efficient way to earn is by providing a skill as a service. For me this skill was writing, and my profits through writing is much more than any amount I have made from trading, posting, faucets, giveaways, and gambling combined.
1519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gadget claims to steal encrypted keys from 19" distance. Time for Paper wallet ? on: July 13, 2015, 10:04:12 PM
After reading this, I had a scary thought: what if hardware wallet companies made this technology easy to obtain and use, allowing anyone to compromise wallets on devices such as laptops, and in turn forcing Bitcoiners to purchase a Trevor or something similar.
1520  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] COINUT.COM ★ Signature Campaign ★ Pay per post ★ Weekly ★ on: July 12, 2015, 05:27:19 AM
Just making sure because the google docs hasn't been updated for this week yet- are current members automatically enrolled for the next week? Or do I need to make a post each week declaring my desire to continue enrollment?
