You've done a great service to the community, but if I may ask, why cash out 100%? If Bitcoin was good to you, let you retire, gave you your dream house, why not be good to it? At least hold onto a handful of Bitcoins and watch the future unfold with the rest of us.
1562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: July 07, 2015, 07:11:07 AM
Martingale is about as guaranteed a profit as Cloud mining. Interpret that however you please.
1563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Silk Road's Ulbricht Win Appeal? on: July 07, 2015, 07:09:23 AM
There is not even a 0.0000001% chance that his sentence will be reduced. The FBI want to make an example out of him. They want to scare other possible future dark market admins using his example. Accept it. Ross Ullbricht will remain imprisoned for the rest of his life, unless he manages to escape from the prison.

Came here exactly to say this. From the view point of the government, his actions are nothing in comparison to the value of him being locked behind bars. It doesn't matter how little or how much Ross did, as long as Ross's imprisonment puts out a message to the public, he will remain behind bars.
1564  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: July 07, 2015, 07:03:51 AM

the future of gold is even more uncertain than bitcoin, there is nothing that tell us that it will skyrocket, it look more and more like a dead market that will fluctuate between its last ath and current range...

Are you serious? Gold has been a stable market for 6,000 years, as opposed to Bitcoins stability for the past what - 6 months? Saying Bitcoin is more stable than gold is ludicrous. Like Bitcoin, gold is rare by nature, and in no way is it dying. As far as the future markets, I am almost 100% certain that Bitcoin is much more likely to lose all value than gold. I obviously don't think Bitcoin is going to die, and there are no signs pointing towards its demise, but it's simply not as stable as gold.
1565  Other / Off-topic / Re: Boring board on: July 07, 2015, 06:59:55 AM
Without any recent scam accusation, flaming, trolling, one-siding, even b*tching, the gambling board has become the most boring board . To be honest I wanna join a Sig. Campaign(at full member), but most of them don't accept Off-topic posters. So gamblers and fellow bcttalk members, tell me what the heck am I supposed to do?

If you want to join a signature campaign and you only post in off topic you are out of luck. It's not hard, however, to just click on the top "Show unread posts" and look for a thread that intrigues you. You get the benefit of posting in a lot of different boards, which Sig. campaigns like to see.
1566  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Poll - Where are the most lies told? on: July 07, 2015, 06:56:09 AM
Politician is #1 by far.

After that, it's a tossup between any of the person to person interactions.
1567  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCjam - Any Thoughts or Experiances on: July 07, 2015, 06:50:39 AM
I'm leaving BTCJam forever, putting my money here was one of the many mistakes I made with my bitcoins that ultimately made me end up with 1/5 of the bitcoins I once had.
Here is the final view of all my investments there at the moment that I'm withdrawing the rest of the bitcoin that are left in my wallet, I don't expect to recieve anything else from the people who defaulted anymore.

I'm not saying that everyone is going to lose money there, this is just my personal experience using this site.
I've personally only invested in a couple of loans, but even with my little experience it is pretty obvious to tell which loans are/aren't legit. If you only loan out your BTC to people with good scores and a solid loaning history, you are unlikely to get scammed. The accounts without a profile picture that offer insane interest rates are going to default every time, end of discussion. However, if you stick to the safe loans, you can easily profit.
1568  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So, I received this PM a few minutes ago... on: July 07, 2015, 06:46:27 AM
It's pretty well known that the Amazon return policy can be exploited to earn extra/free goods. The most common one I have heard of is purchasing an item, complaining you never received it, and asking for a refund. In the end, you get your item and you keep your money. It's effective, but also illegal and scummy. The message sent is inquiring you to partake in a similar fraud.
1569  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: July 06, 2015, 10:45:03 PM
Wow, so much optimism in this thread. Realistically, My personal prediction is for a price around $2,500 by 2020. I could not fathom Bitcoin meeting the predictions of people in here guaranteeing 10, 20, even 50 thousand dollars per Bitcoin. As much as I would love to see that, that seems like an insane overestimate.
1570  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammers behind cloudminr.io on: July 06, 2015, 10:41:19 PM
Has there been a cloud mining operation to date that did not turn out to be some sort of scam? Either way, my condolences to those who lost funds due to cloudminr and best of luck to catching the scum that ran it
1571  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk AVATAR Campaigns [02-July-2015] on: July 06, 2015, 10:36:51 PM

I see a lot of people using the cryptovpn avatar, but where in the post mentions avatar campaign information? The only thing I see are signatures? Is there any place that details the payouts and requirements for the campaign? Thanks.
1572  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Purse.io - Bitcoin Amazon Marketplace - Save ~10-25% on Amazon Wishlist on: July 06, 2015, 10:03:37 PM
How does the Purse direct work with the 5% purchase? I have always been weary of purchasing from Purse due to the very real possibility of stolen credit cards, but I'm assuming if you buy straight from the company it's through legitimate means of purchasing my wishlist? Can anyone elaborate on the feature for me?
1573  Economy / Services / Re: looking promotation for my bitcoin chess game on: July 06, 2015, 10:01:17 PM
Best way for new sites off the ground is by making announcement posts. Check out Service Announcements or the Gambling section, you will get more coverage than $5 will buy you anyways.
1574  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price is fighting to $300 in July! on: July 06, 2015, 09:39:24 PM
If it breaks $300 again, what's to stop it from dropping like a rock down to where it was before like last time it hit $300? I don't think any dramatic price increases are going to happen in July.
1575  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 06, 2015, 09:35:50 PM
These next couple months are going to be exciting for Bitcoin. It's now being seen as viable from a worldwide perspective in regards to Greece. I don't think the moon will come this month, but certainly it is coming soon.
1576  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the US win the currency war? on: July 06, 2015, 09:29:06 PM
USA already won the currency war: the dollar is the world reserve currency.  This goes back a while, and has to do with gold standards and other things.  No time to type it all out now, but there is plenty of good info on the net about this stuff.

I came here to say this. The USD is accepted worldwide, and even preferred in many areas with a weak local currency. As far as a centralized currencies go, USD is the clear dominant entity.
1577  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Discussion: Essay contest to win a house - $100 each entry on: July 06, 2015, 06:44:53 PM
Nobody would participate in this. Not only does this look like a clear scam but even if you were legit there is no way 1,000 people would enter.
1578  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS reportedly gives away sex slaves as 'prizes' in Koran contest on: July 06, 2015, 06:01:06 AM
I think they are cruelest than Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot combined.

ISIS is awful but they are not on par with any of these individuals, let alone combined.

1580  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk AVATAR Campaigns [02-July-2015] on: July 05, 2015, 06:43:44 AM
Is cloudthink still open? I just went to sign up but after looking at the most recent comments it appears its participants are not being paid out.

cloudthink doesn't seems like the most reliable site around, I think they can stop the pays at any moment, even if they pay this time

It seams that they are not paying and that the campaign is closed. The user in charge wasn't online since June 30, and there's a bunch of people that
are not paid. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1084422.220

This should be removed to avoid confusion and new users from adding the avatar for free.

cheers

Since Cloudthink seems to be out of the picture now are there any other decent avatar campaigns? I looked earlier and the best open one I found was just .01 a week, which isn't really that signficant of an amount.
