1021  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] ASICMiner Tube Group Buy #1 on: August 12, 2014, 03:05:13 PM
reserved for additional instructions/info:

to generate a shipping label you can use fedex or ups websites to generate a label self addressed.  shipping from zip code 60181
you then save/print as pdf.  something I can print on a peelable label (regular page size, 2 peelable labels per page is what I currently use)

with USPS.com you can create a priority mail shipping label addressed to yourself.  i.e. to and from address section has your address.  shipping however is from zip 60181 (specify this).  when you generate label, it's helpful to select option (print two per page) and save the pdf file.  you will email me that pdf.

got a couple questions on how to sign your tracking numbers.
this old thread might be of some help: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=180068.0
most wallets support signing, you may need to google it or lookup help sections on how to do it.

Spec:

Hashrate: 800-850GH/s per full set.
Power consumption: ~0.9 J/GH board-wise. Gets higher along with ambient temperature. At the wall power draw depends on PSU efficiency.
Size: 25cmx12cmx12cm per full set.

(I recommend buying 1.04 btc for USD, current cost is about $534 $493 $591 for 1.04 btc)
Although I do not expect to, I may increase pricing if some unexpected costs creep in (like import fees, if any, for ex.) (but this will be transparent).

I can see new cases getting designed to house hashing units for all kinds of configurations Smiley

Will this work with the 1200W variants?
Notably 440785-001 441830-001 HSTNS-PD11 for DL580 G5 and the like? There are a few out there with different part numbers, but these fit the bill. They seem to have the exact same pinouts.

The 'original' Gigampz only works with the DPS-800GBA and the ATSN-7001044.  The supplies you noted are "Common Slot" and have the same  physical connector but a _different_ pin-out and will not work with the original Gigampz boards.

That said; we just completed a prototype of the Gigampz CS (Common Slot) it works with all HP Common Slot power supplies including the 1200 Watt.  You can recognize a common slot power supply  by it's 1U profile and a single fan at the rear of the supply next to the power plug.  These supplies come in wattage's ranging from 460w to 1600w and 80Plus efficiency ratings up to Titanium.

Your argument about prior 150% luck is useless for any new miner that might have joined a week ago.  They have zero benefit when they weren't here.

Your point could be applied to any pool.

M
I don't see excessive failsafes on other pools, that's my original concern.

What's going on with this pool??

Seems fine to me.  Normal luck swings.  Pays out.  Responsive.  Low variance because of high hash rate.  Good op.  What's your issue?

M
Yet another failsafe??

But, speaking of luck swings, it looks terrible as of late.

Failsafes are there for a reason.

It wasn't that long ago that we had 150+% luck.  How come you weren't complaining then?

1030  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] T1-BOX RockMiner production, small batch on: August 07, 2014, 06:12:07 PM
At these prices, S3 are clearly the SUPERIOR choice, in ROI and quantity. These consume 20% more power as well. They must lower prices to be competitive.

This is a small initial batch production.  S3s are mass produced.

But, here's the math:

T1-RBOX
@40 units:
$645/800Gh/s = $0.80625 per Gh/s

@100 units:
$615/800Gh/s = $0.76875 per Gh/s

S3:
(.66 btc * $588) / 441 Gh/s = $0.88 Gh/s

It's also likely that they will hash at 820 actually, on average, and proper cooling will push it to 840. so the price per Gh would change more:
645/820=0.7865853658536585
615/820=0.75

So, the board that arrived this morning at the data center was not the correct board.... figures.

In the meantime a temporary server is being setup to move affected services over.  Working on that now so I can at least get stats and payouts catching up.
Hope you understand you cannot just replace broken PCB with exactly same type working one. You will need some HDD initialization
that depends on the controller.  HDDs keep a config too, so you can move them to a new (same) controller hw and no volume setup etc.. is lost.

does anyone have an estimate on how long before fail safe catches up and should i be concern. Grin

1033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Large government takeover on: August 06, 2014, 08:00:17 PM
Has anyone considered what might happen if a government with money and technology were to build their own large scale mining farms?
They could secretly mine tons of bitcoins and sell them on the market and manipulate the value. Or they can render the entire bitcoin network inoperable due to various attacks or manipulations.

There are lots of government that can do this, and maybe some of them are already.

1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are SD Cards Subject to Vulnerability Similar to USB? on: August 06, 2014, 07:06:24 PM
Thanks everyone, I think you've answered my question and given me some ideas. I like the airgap idea... I wonder how hard it would be to write my own airgap audio transmission program to send transactions between computers. It could easily be put in send-only mode so that the transaction could be sent, but nothing returned to the offline computer.

now imagine what kind of tech US has....

you still need a secured wallet with passwords etc...

1036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are SD Cards Subject to Vulnerability Similar to USB? on: August 06, 2014, 02:50:12 AM
I can't seem to find the article, but it was recently reported that USB flash drives are unsafe because they can hide malicious software in an unusable portion of the drive used by the storage system. Therefore, for the purposes of Bitcoin security, it's important to consider any usb drive exposed to an untrusted computer to be infected.

Does this affect SD cards or only USB flash drives?
SD cards too.

Looks like a drive is starting to fail on one of the core pool servers.  Having that replaced.

The lag caused by the dying drive caused CPPSRB to throw some red flags and go into failsafe.

It should be fine as soon as the new drive is in place and rebuilds.

As always, no earnings lost.  Core database servers are still working fine.
Lots of hdd failures...

So this is more of an announcement/interest thread currently.  Are we a week or two away from product going live?
not an interest thread,  orders are being taken for Aug 11th shipping as mention in OP.
this thread is for volume orders, not single units.  single units will be on rockminers webstore soon, at a different price schedule
