hi if i take 5 u1 can i insert all together in one hub and connect to my laptop.
could has issues like power usb?

as long as the hub is able to provide adequate power to each port, it should work great.  there's a link to a thread about USB hubs on the OP too.  Thanks!

ok if i take 5 now how much cost incluse shipping to italy, which kind of shipping and how many time to arrive home?
delivery time depends on the kind of shipping service you choose.  PM me your full address.

Has anyone tried just emailing friedcat and asking what's up?

I do it often with no responses.  fc changed completely awhile back in terms of communication.  don't know the reason. very strange.

on bitmain: the U1, in my opinion is made in the same factory that the ASICMiner USB was made in.  Some of the tiny physical aspects/details of the U1 and ASICMiner USB are IDENTICAL.

If I had to guess, I think the simplest explanation for what's going is: fc and ASICMiner had some sort of a revolt occur and a split occurred.  it wouldn't surprise me one bit if this was true.  But this is just SPECULATION on my part.  nothing more nothing less.

Might explain why Gen2 mysteriously "never happened", certainly a good as guess as any. Because like everyone says, all we can do is guess. Hopefully the team is now "100% together" and can move forward in harmony.

Whether there was a split or whatever, it certainly doesn't stop fc from entering into some simple communication on this forum. "Tapeout happened on schedule" or "Tapeout delayed until 30th January". How hard is that to post?
With the Chinese New Year, I doubt there will be any posts for the duration of it.

Interesting. With lack of communication we have nothing else to do but speculate.

How about this for idle speculation. FC started getting worried that everyone was a spy from a competing mining company and felt that he could trust no one. Hence the drop in communication. Maybe gen2 chip designs were indeed stolen and the paranoia is justified. I could see myself going slowly crazy this way in his position.
don't think so

That's interesting about the split... but I am surprised that you think that is the simplest explanation!
based on my reference point... I know I do not have all the info, so it could be 100% wrong too.

I do know that ASICMiner Gen2 was 65nm, not 55 as what bitmain uses.

If ordering a single unit, you can use First Class Mail label if you would prefer that method for cost savings over priority mail for a single U1.
Total weight is under 2 oz in a padded yellow envelope.
