Here is the X24 blade immersed.

<snipped pic>

so a DataTank holds 50 of x24s? 24*10Gh*50= ~12000-13200 Gh/s or 12-13.2 Th/s if my math is right?
this needs 10200-11880 Watts of power?  (100 amps? @120V)
how much is a DataTank? when is it available for purchase etc...?

No need for branch cgminer

How about using a different pool than ghashio?  Enough turmoil there...

3D printed R-Box mount sneak preview...

<snip>
that's pretty neat!  you can probably make an rbox "tree" like structure to go vertical (including wiring) it may even look eye appealing with all the blinking lights... Smiley  a Bitcoin tree of sorts
1165  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Gigampz PSU Breakout Board Setup [HD] on: June 14, 2014, 11:37:24 PM
can you comment on the jumper setting/config please?
1166  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: June 14, 2014, 11:20:37 PM
Well, remember how you got your contract? Smiley
So comparing to what you have is not apples to oranges, to be fair...

I went to go buy 4 rocket boxes today but the 450 dollar shipping on them turned me away Sad
That's ridiculous. They are eitHer taking a profit or paying retail. My FedEx acct would be $25-30 per.

Really you can ship 7kg from China to USA for $30 usd ?  Nice! But how long does it take though?

I can ship for $6 per kg UPS but it takes 7 days. The fastest service is more expensive but it only 2-3 days.

Express International is usually 3-4 days.  Quicker from Europe, but this is China.
As RockMiner develops further, maybe they can give multiple shipping carrier/options.  then you can pick whatever shipping speed/method you want and pay accordingly.  At the moment, however, it's DHL express, which is super fast.
DHL is the. Better shipper internationally. And their prices are usually in line with FedEx and ups. These guys just have a lousy contract.

Shipping, in stock.

Little OT, but having bought from you several times in the past, do you intend to stock the RK-Box?

Yes, all resellers are getting them.  but there's nothing to update until 25th when we (hopefully) get our tracking numbers.
1168  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: June 14, 2014, 07:15:20 PM
I've got coin waiting for one of you US sellers to get a shipment...  (cough...Canary..)  Grin

I too am waiting for Canary to post a price and hopefully it's more competitive than minersource.net ( although they are a good reseller ).  The price on the rbox dropped dramatically since launch and hopefully we will see the price of the rkbox come down as well.  To stay competitive with the market the price needs to drop a lil since power supply is not included and the rpi may need to be purchased as others have stated.  At least close to what Rockminer sells them for + a lil for shipping cost.  Hopefully this next week goes fast, don't want to resort to buying from the manufacturer.  What would you use these for?  Combine a couple and mine at a pool or point one for solo mining?  Is it a waste for solo or should I use the rbox for solo?  Your thoughts....

all resellers are waiting for inventory... so sit tight, when we get our tracking numbers hopefully on 25th, you all will know ASAP Smiley
1169  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: June 14, 2014, 07:13:19 PM
Pi is not required:
PC is also OK.
Most people already have PSUs they can re-purpose... so maybe 2 calcualtions should exist for rkboxes? one if etting a PSU, one if not?

its not about shipping cost or anything u mentioned above...

lets calculate the real cost here...
Quote
1 x RK-Box 450G = 1BTC (latest price)

assume we buy 3 RK-box (3BTC + 0.6BTC shipping)
now we need 3 RPI assume it 0.23BTC
and the last thing, we need 3 PSU assume it 0.47BTC
total : 4.3BTC
now we got 1.35 TH/s cost us around 4.3BTC
so, for this spec. 1BTC can get us 313GH/s (1350/4.3)

Quote
now we calculate the Antminer S2
1 x S2 1TH/s = 3.194 BTC (coupon)

for this S2, we dont need other accessories to run it
its all included
so, for this spec. 1BTC can get us 310GH/s (1000/3.225)

Conclusion :
RK-box - for mid player in mining, if ur wallet is not big enuf
S2 - only for big wallet

$112.5 per divice from China using DHL express is a damn good deal.
How do you suppose they get here?

On the other hand, if shipping cost was simply part of per unit price, wouldn't you buy it anyway?

Friedcat,

Regarding the design for the new cube, will each boards of the cube require a power supply and Ethernet connection? Will the cubes need a stratum proxy to operate like your previous builds or are you updating the mining software?
it's up to the community to design this... fc released info needed for someone to jump in and start designing.  (the Cube specs to be released, will help simply create replacement blades in exciting cubes if it's designed by the community in this manner)

you just keep talking and digging a bigger hole buddy...
be a man, suck it up and go honest.

How can anyone prove that eligius not erase my block log from the website block list?
You trust eligius more than me, just because that eligius is the 2nd oldest pool?
We used to be as you, until this event.

Huh. The person who purportedly withheld shares, the only possible motivation for which would be to make Elgius look bad is now trying to... make Eldigus look bad.

I for one would never have predicted this in a million years and am shocked.

SHOCKED I SAY.

If I really wants to make eligius "bad", The right way is to use 10 btc to hire a buck of hacker in china to DDOS that website, instead of risking my 200+ BTC on pretending to be a normal miner.
Holding block is easy to be caught, just a "SELECT user, power, hisLucky WHERE hisLucky < 0.xxx*poolLucky and power > yyy" is enough.
We of course know eligius's crew is not fool.
1175  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6600Th] Eligius: 0% Fee BTC, 105% PPS NMC, No registration, CPPSRB (New Thread) on: June 13, 2014, 04:05:37 PM
hey, can we add this math to be displayed on each miner's stats page?
like how does my share submission and block solving compare to what would be expected (statistically) ?
this would be a great feature for greater transparency within the pool.

These stats do not seem out of the ordinary.

Maybe wizkid can enlighten us as to how he has deduced that these addresses below to the block withholder.

To be clear, I'm not on anyone's side here and have suffered a 50 BTC loss from eligius' bad luck. I'd just like to know all of the facts and how wizkid came to his conclusions.

They don't look out of the ordinary if those blocks were evenly distributed. However, all the blocks were made in a small timeframe. Look at the 17JkL94B2ngJg4QQZuiozDQjnxXB6B7yTc blocks, they were all mined on a single day, same with the 1Gu8zxRi8cyENV8CQe52D7QEsiZ7ruT73u blocks. They were reported within a single day (probably when they were setting it up). That's an odd coincidence.

If they were evenly distributed and not suspicious, the odds of that occuring is somewhere around 1 in 1300 using a binomial CDF. When you consider the total population of miners, odds are some miners would be outliers...

HOWEVER, their mined blocks are not evenly distributed and looks as though they were only mined when starting up.

If those two days are actually the day the addresses were set up and we exclude those mined blocks, the odds are staggeringly low...

For example, let's calculate the odds of mining 0 out of 20 expected blocks:
BinomialCDF( x=ActualMinedBlocks, n=(BitcoinDifficulty*ExpectedMinedBlocks), p=(1/BitcoinDifficulty) )
BinomialCDF( x=0, n=(117565519166*20), p=(1/117565519166) ) = 2.06e-9 (1 in 2 billion)
** Taking the lower P value. Technically n should be multiplied by the difference in difficulty and hashrate (7158278) and p divided by the same, as we actually want to measure hashes not on the bitcoin difficulty, but we ignore this because it's so far out the tail the numbers are similar enough for way too many significant digits, you're still going to get 2.06e-9, I'd rather reduce the chances of typos. We are also assuming difficulty of today, when difficulty was lower before (meaning the p value should be higher; the odds are even more slim).

1 in 2 billion confidence for being representative when mining 0 out of 20 expected is garbage and there's trivial ways to check miner operation, but on pure statistics alone, one can be extremely confident this was not by chance. It's probably even more unlikely if we only calculate the last month for all pools. It's early in the morning for me, so my math might be a bit off (or outright wrong) -- and it's been a while since I took highschool statistics Smiley so I'd appreciate if any professional statisticians chimed in as well.

I'd like to see the BTC 200 from Eligius and 300 from Blockwitholder put in escrow and a trusted 3rd party audit carried out.

I'd rather this was done than some witch hunt / trial by media.

Agreed! I was just about to move my TH's to Eligius, but seeing this information has me a bit worried about doing so.
I was afraid some folks with large hashing power would think so...
but the point to remember is that if you're not trying to do anything evil, you have nothing to worry about... especially if you begin solving blocks as expected etc... so the short comment is that go ahead please, add to the pool.
1177  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6600Th] Eligius: 0% Fee BTC, 105% PPS NMC, No registration, CPPSRB (New Thread) on: June 13, 2014, 05:40:51 AM
I have a theory. The network hashrate has just jumped up 14PH approx as per bitcoinwisdom difficulty.

Perhaps this is a large farm, concerned about rising difficulty and wanting to minimize the impact of difficulty increases. They mine on btcguild/eligius and submit low difficulty shares (for which they are paid) and discard winning shares (so the network hashrate is artificially low). Profit ?
Could they be not discarding winning shares and instead using them in solo mining setup?
Guarantee themselves benefits of pooled mining and win some by solo mining winning shares by withholding from a pool?
1178  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6600Th] Eligius: 0% Fee BTC, 105% PPS NMC, No registration, CPPSRB (New Thread) on: June 13, 2014, 05:25:44 AM
Nice job catching them!!!
I think out of the 200 btc, Eligius should acquire solid state disks (such as nimbus data gemeni flash array).  Db will never have any issues and rebuilding/reorganizing etc.. will be a thousand times faster.
Just my 2 cents.
Overall, we should beef up Eligius and spread what's leftover

Another point, couldn't we analyze these 2 addresses for relationships with other addresses to see if we could infer identities behind these addys?  Maybe not, but it could yield some interesting leads...

The ~200 BTC belongs to the miners affected, IMO, not in any way a donation to Eligius.

On a side note, almost everything important is on SSDs except for the webserver... which will be shortly.  Software is needing some updating/rewriting to get more speed, though.
All true... I'd give up my portion to put towards improvements...  There's probably enough miners here who'd do the same.  If Eligius is made better and faster, more miners will come over

With the dropping rate of the BTC from the U.S. Gov selling off the 29,656 BTC, does anyone anticipate any significant movement in the mining industry/total network hashrate? Since the drop of the news here, BTC has taken quite a tumble from mid 600 to now upper 500s.

Here is the timeline of event:

June 23rd: Bidder Registration
June 27th: Auction from 6am - 6pm EDT
June 30th: Winners notified
July 1st: Wire Transfer Deadline for Winning Parties

This is not meant to start a flame war about political views or speculation of BTC price in the coming weeks; rather how does this potentially effect all current miners with potential massive price swings in either way. Moreover, does this news mean a change of plans for the end of June and early July?

U.S. Marshall's Announcement of BTC Auction: http://www.usmarshals.gov/assets/2014/bitcoins/

in short, it legitimizes B/bitcoin further which helps it for the long run.
