BFGMiner 4.2 released with ROCKMINER R-BOX support. Smiley

Thanks for Luke's support and excellent job, what he did is very important to promote R-BOX and bfgminer.
Welcome guys to use R-BOX in bfgminer system.

Yes, it is!  Can you take a look at Luke's and mine request to set the properties in the chip set to identify the product and the manufacturer.
this will help all miner software in the long run, not just bfgminer.

BFGMiner 4.2 released with ROCKMINER R-BOX support. Smiley

+1

same commands as cgminer?
No, BFGMiner has a standard interface for all drivers. So something like:
Code:
bfgminer -S rockminer:all --set rockminer:clock=290

Edit: Also note that if you were using cgminer, you had to use Zadig, which breaks the official drivers. You will need to undo this (and restore the original driver) before BFGMiner will work.

How does one go about "undoing" the use of Zadig and restore the original drivers? Thanks!
just reinstall the original driver or you can use the zadig tool to revert back to original driver.  in my experience, reinstalling driver is cleaner.
1204  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R-Box Setup [HD] on: June 11, 2014, 06:00:34 PM

I'll update when cg and bfg have finished their release versions, make it nice and fair.

Sure, in the mean time, those wishing to use bfgminer can use:

Code:
bfgminer -S rockminer:all --set rockminer:clock=270
or
Code:
bfgminer -S rockminer:all --set rockminer:clock=290

no need for ziagdag step anymore, just the proper manufacturer's driver.  and if you ever had those ASICMiner USB sticks running using bfgminer on your system (now or before), then you already have the driver anyway
1205  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: R-BOX 32-37GH/S Rockminers on: June 11, 2014, 02:34:43 PM
so if I order... 5 units from you would would you charge me...

5x ebay = $487 plus postage...

I am looking for 2 right now just me ... wife hates me.. she think what i am doing is not going to happen... she does not believe in crypto
I'm pretty sure it's cheaper than than from resellers here
1206  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: R-BOX 32-37GH/S Rockminers on: June 11, 2014, 11:52:45 AM
Anyone using them... did you buy from ebay or from a source in china..

I see they are giving 30-35 ghs for like $100 AUS delivered... not bad..

Anyone..
Yep, folks are using them!  They're available here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=629006.0
1207  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Open Source Block Erupter Project on: June 11, 2014, 11:21:01 AM

Suggestions, modifications and brand new designs are all welcome.

I would interconnect the four board's power requirements into a single pair of PCIe connections.

I would injection mould or extrude a plastic clip to interlock the handles so they can be assembled into a matrix.
I dunno... Current design leaves power flexible... You can repurpose all kinds of older/cheaper PSUs
AND when next gen chip is out, you could upgrade one board at a time too instead of replacing whole device if power is interconnected

Bfgminer support has been added:

Setup is simpler now, no need for the ziadiag driver replacement step

Anyone figure out a frequency higher then 290 that works?  These units seem like they can OC higher Grin
Not a good idea at this time... It's reportedly confusing the miner.  Could be how firmware handles higher frequencies

been messing around with rboxes... got 5 powered via the breakout board, then for the rest, I took the PCI-E 6 connectors for gridseeds
(from here: http://buyahash.com/shop/pci-e-6-pin-3-gridseed-power-plug-2-1mm-dc-barrel-plug/),

cutoff the 2.1mm barrel connectors and soldered on the 2.5mm barrel connectors that come with each r-box.

using platimax 1200 PSU, powered up 17 rboxes using 771 watts. 21 watts idle, so (771-21)/17 = ~44 watts each. running at almost 35 Gh/s each, freq=290

waiting for that cool 3d printed case for the BA

they run quiet.

bfgminer coming up to bat soon. Smiley

edit:  I think using that pci-e 6 pin to 3 barrels is the most cost effective solution.  you probably have a psu already running something that has a spare pcie 6 connector, so powering up 3 rboxes is a no brainer and is THE simplest solution.  alternatively, if you have no available pcie6 connector on a PSU that is already on and running I bet you have a spare PSU.  the good ole paperclip solution + the pcie6 to 3 barrel connector is again most efficient and cost effective.  buyahash will make available 2.5mm barel connectors on the pcie6 connector soon if you don't want to modify gridseed plugs yourself.  it is fun however.

I was scammed by a member be the name of gigavps“
this scammer has tried to pass by the real gigavps who is a hero member!

Surely this gigavps“had another account and another username ... Can I track this user to its real account?

Please Help!

ty, marked as possible scammer.  wish you had noticed the " `" in the username etc... etc... and did your due diligence...

OK, reserved. Smiley
1215  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Open Source Block Erupter Project on: June 10, 2014, 02:20:24 PM
That black strip on handles, is that a friction strip for stacking?
That was my first thought; second thought was that I think I'd be clamping them together as well, just in case.
Yep!  Maybe those bars should be modified to include a stackable mechanism beyond friction strips
1216  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Open Source Block Erupter Project on: June 10, 2014, 01:25:37 PM
We had AM_BE200_X24 boards sampled and tested. We also sampled the compatible heatsinks and supporting structures for them. It hashes at 768GH (each board 192GH) with 0.85-0.92W/G (PSU loss excluded). Power draws on higher/lower hashrate with higher/lower voltage is under testing. The design files of heatsinks/structures are going to be released a little later.

It should be emphasized that QUAD and X32 are also sampled and well tested before X24.

I think you should make a batch of these. They'll sell out quickly. Smiley

Nice!

I might havta jump on one of these deals yo!

I am working on mounts for the R-Boxes and should have those ready for testing and will offer up a couple for reviews.
Pick a color! Smiley

I have 3 extra BA break out boards.  each order of 10 gets one, while they last. (on a good PSU, powering 10 r-boxes is safe with the BA board)
and...
remember these? :

I found a small stash here... you get one for free with each r-box. see OP

all orders shipped out.

rockxie,

can you take a look at this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250326.0

could you overwrite the generic values with RockMiner and RBOX/RXBOX, so that driver handling can be more precise?

Some people are having issues with the whole driver replacement step.

Also, there would be no way to distinguish rbox vs rxbox on a system in device manager etc...

Luke-Jr can probably help with answering a question you might have regarding this.

Thanks!
