1681  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: December 14, 2019, 01:02:17 PM
Is it just me or is there a certain campaign by members wearing the signature of a particular site trying to discredit freebitco.in? I mean last week or the week before, some guy comes in and says the Lambo is a scam because there was no news of it ever given away. Then now another guy comes in and says countdown is a scam. Obviously, nobody checks out past history of this site before coming in with accusations. They are not newbie members either!

Freebitco in is not the only website that is under attack. There can be many reasons ... it is enough if a user loses money because he played very risky. Of course, it could be some organized campaign by a competitive website, but I think it is unlikely. Or maybe it's just a post of a regular troll or spammer.
1682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Altcoins do it alone ? on: December 14, 2019, 12:29:37 PM
No I don't think so. Bitcoin market cap alone is more then collective market cap of all altcoins. I have my trust in ethereum till last year that it may survive independently but I don't think that anymore. At least in coming five years altcoins have to rely on bitcoin for there survival.

You should not lose hope in Ethereum. In my opinion, this is the only  Altcoin at the moment, which can change the value regardless of the Bitcoin price. Ethereum has lost a lot of value, which is why its potential is huge. If the upcoming hardfork succeeds, I think ETH has a chance to find its own place on the market.
1683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin could reach $100,000 in 2020: Ross Ulbricht on: December 14, 2019, 11:10:01 AM
At present market conditions, it looks like a dream to me. But because of globalization and becoming popular among the community Bitcoin could reach $20,000 in 2020 in my opinion.  The future is unpredictable so all we can do is hope for the best.

Just as the price of Bitcoin may fall to $1000 in 2020, so can it rise to $20k ,or even $100k. We are not able to predict this, and Ulbricht is no expert but criminal and I do not know why we are taking his predictions for discussion in this forum. Let him predict if the judge will shorten his sentence.
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is for you scam project and what is for you good project? on: December 13, 2019, 02:11:08 PM
Guys we are talking a lot of times about "this project is scam" or "this project is amazing and soon moon" but sometimes scam project making a lot of x but amazing project making -90%. So what is for you good project? Which team and project is fake but making xx or team and project real but price making -90% and we should hold?

Those who write about projects, that they will succeed with certainty, almost certainly write so because they have paid for it. Those who write that the project is a scam probably want to lower their price to buy cheaper.
There's no other way, but you have to do the project analysis yourself - check dev team, whitepaper and roadmap. Whether the project succeeds will depend mainly on developer experience and luck.
1685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin could reach $100,000 in 2020: Ross Ulbricht on: December 13, 2019, 01:40:40 PM
Ross Ulbricht, the originator of the dark web marketplace Silk Road, has anticipated that Bitcoin could reach $100,000 in 2020.

Ross Ulbricht is an American convict who created and ran the darknet marketplace Silk Road from 2011 to his capture in 2013. In February 2015, he was indicted for tax evasion, PC hacking, selling in bogus personality reports, and endeavoring to exchange drugs by means of the web.

I am sorry that Ulbrich will probably be in jail for things which he did not directly do, but unfortunately he helped many criminals.
Unfortunately, I am far from considering him an expert who can predict the price of Bitcoin. His predictions are worth as much as each of us. We may have predictions or dreams, but the market will do what it wants.

What is the timezone for the count ?
Some people said it's GMT+3 (Moscow time).

The forum, by default, uses GMT+0; So if that's what is set for you, the next day is set at 21:00.

I talked to other users and it is not exactly GMT +3, because for some already around 19:00 forum time, counts posts for the next day. It probably depends individually for each user. It is possible that it depends on time each of us registered.
just like what tryninja and posi said yobit time is based on GMT+3 but if you are still having doubts try following this conversation onwards https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5188047.msg53051296#msg53051296 they talked about how yobit's 3-4 hours time deadline before yobit counts the total post you made in that time they also talked about why some post being counted the next day and what timezone yobit uses. you might find the answer you're satisfied with on that conversation.

I know all this conversation and there is a difference between counting for one user and another. I do not know where it comes from, but for one user a post written at the same time is counted on the current day, and for another user for the next day.

1688  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: December 13, 2019, 11:27:36 AM
The website says you've given away over 197,000 BTC (currently equivalent to about $1.4 billion). Likewise there are a total of 101 billion games played and almost 35 million members. That means on average, each user on the platform has earned 0.005 BTC.

Take into account that a few years ago the BTC price was much lower. Also the minimum and the amount that could be claimed and collected was much higher, so much more BTC was distributed earlier than now.
1689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Potential ETH Prices in December the Lowest 98$ and the Highest 222$ on: December 09, 2019, 11:12:26 AM
ETH prices are up a little today whether this is the effect of hardfork, but I am not sure about the increase in ETH prices due to hardfork or from your analysis, prices are still below $ 200, in my analysis to date focus on buying when ETh is under $ 200
Maybe it is but no one can identify if it really the effect of hardfork but the price is still on the level of common price since it dropped. I think this is just a quick spike or something that made the price of ETH grow for this certain price. If you have to invest in ETH i think this is the best time to do that since the price is a little wear off.

A small increase means nothing. Fork will definitely matter, but only if it takes place when it was planned and will not be postponed again. Investors no longer speculate on the ETH price before the fork, because it has failed twice. I think the ETH price will start rising only if the fork will be successful.
if asking about speculation this thread also makes speculation but does not have to be followed, back again about the price of ETH not everyone knows about the price and can be predicted accurately, I only know that the current ETH is really cheap, I am still surprised if the price of ETH follows the price bitcoin, that's wrong, do people know when the price of bitcoin fell by $ 7,000 at the start of 2018 then what was the price of ETH in early 2018, it was still above $ 600, but why is it now under $ 200, sometimes it's funny even the block reward is also reduced to 2 ETH so who is playing with the price of ETH

Good point! For me, the current ETH price is also very low. However, from what I observe, I don't expect anything to change to hardfork.
I look forward to the moment when the ETH price breaks away from the BTC price, because I think Ethereum will be the first altcoin to do it. I hope that Ethereum hadfork will be the moment that start a new era in the world of cryptocurrencies and the prices of altcoins will follow ETH and not BTC anymore.

It looks like you don't know something or someone wants to do a free promotion for you Wink

It looks like you don't read back a little before posting.

Interesting, now freebitcoin has a PR account? I mean wasn't thequin basically the PR guy around here anyway?

I'm more of a support person than a PR person. We have someone who creates all the graphics we send out in the promotional emails. They could email me the links to the images and then I post them but I thought it would be quicker and easier to just get them to post themself.

Sorry, I didn't realize you referred to @freebitco.in PR account as "them". I thought you didn't notice it.
I need some coffee…  Cheesy

1692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins not Growing These Days on: December 08, 2019, 08:06:33 PM
no investor will invest their money in an unstable market, and without guarantees of the release of investments in the future.
although the market is not so bad, it is slowly growing

In the first words you say that the market is not stable, and a moment later that it is not so bad and growing. Smiley
In my opinion, stabilization is quite nervous and investors are uncertain about what will happen in the coming weeks. However, I believe that the price drops have already ended and now we will only observe stable price increases.

YEP! It is back again!

I haven't been so stressed for a long time and I haven't smoked so many cigarettes as today!

I'm closing topic!
Have nice day everyone!

It's not working for me either. The website has been running for years, so I doubt it's an exit scam, it might be just a technical problem.

It's not just on your end.

There isn't anything coming from them yet, but I have found another (single) user also complaining about it on Twitter[1] an hour ago.

[1] https://twitter.com/HaIvan63460461/status/1203710437038014470

Ufff..

Thanks for the quick reply, because I was already very nervous ...
I have quite big amount of BTC (at least for me) in their escrow and if it is an exit, it would be biggest scam in the crypto world for me.
I never keep funds online for more than a day or two. Here is the second day of escrow and this surprise come.. I hope they return online soon.
1695  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitify - "Error establishing a database connection" on: December 08, 2019, 05:02:44 PM
Hi,

I'm not sure if the error is only on my end or website www.bitify.com is down?

Already couple of hours I have only this message when trying to open website: "Error establishing a database connection" - only that, nothing more.

Is it some kind of temporary problem, or the end?  Shocked Roll Eyes

Ps. No info in their social media..  Undecided

1697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will There Really Be An Altcoin Season or Just a plot to Keep us in the Loop on: December 08, 2019, 03:55:06 PM
As we already see no altcoin season this year, i think next we year we have a chance to have an altcoina bull run, all really depends on a lot of factors and can't guarantee really what will happen.

Everyone believes that the cryptocurrency market will get up from its knees next year. However, this does not have to happen. Even if the bull run comes next year, certainly not all altcoins will rebuild their price. In my opinion, most tokens and altcoins will remain at the bottom, and only some of them will recover their prices.
1698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Potential ETH Prices in December the Lowest 98$ and the Highest 222$ on: December 08, 2019, 02:57:15 PM
I cant see any reason for eth to drop its price below 100$.  This month i will be bullish into eth and im guessing the price of ethereum before the end of the year is 250$.

Then you are very optimistic! Investors are waiting for the start of the new tax year in many countries and are rarely investing large amounts at the end of the year. If only whales want to lower the price, they will easily do it to below $100. I do not think it will happen, but it is possible. Price growth is very unlikely in December in my opinion.
1699  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: December 07, 2019, 04:53:40 PM
^^^
Freebitco has already announced the winner of the first Lamborghini lottery. The user number 4424669 won the Lamborghini with 185 tickets.
I don't think we need more details. That's enough. Because the lottery was provably fair and there is no way freebitco can cheat you.
They had announced the lottery procedure before the lottery. That was provably fair and there is no need to more details. It doesn't matter who is the user with ID 4424669.
Freebitco implemented a transparent lottery and is protecting the privacy of the winner as well.

I have no doubt that everything was legit. It is a pity that this user has not agreed to disclose. It would definitely be a great promotion for Freebitco.in. After all, Lambo is the dream of everyone who is interested in cryptocurrencies Wink
1700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC bear market over????? on: December 07, 2019, 04:25:51 PM
Now the BTC is very stable, it is not trying to fall, but it is not growing, now there are both bears and bulls on the market, and it is not yet known who will be stronger
bears are becoming weaker  as we are near 2020, next year will be a bulls year cause halving is what they are prepairing. Last 2016 bitcoin halving btc price has slowly goes up till btc reach its ath in 2017.

It doesn't have to be this time like that. Everyone would like to see the bull market right after halving, but the cryptocurrency market has shown many times that it does not care about investors sentiments at all. It may as well start now and at the beginning of 2021.
