81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any good stable miners for 1080ti nowdays? on: July 07, 2023, 09:18:28 AM
I'm looking into using my gpus as stable, remotely controlled source of heat, so what setups most stable do you find? I do autolycos/eth/etc/zilhash on amd. whats up with 1080ti/nvidia? is phoenix still the most stable + vs hash output on dagger-hashimoto /(ethash) what else is there worth engaging with? any interesting chains?

Phönixminer isnīt the most stable miner for years now, you have much better option. For AMD always Teamredminer, by far the best miner for this cards. Nvidia i would go with rigel miner.

The rest of your question: donīt be lazy, the internet is full with options.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: July 06, 2023, 12:08:02 PM
Version 9.9.9

 ASIC mining
  - Integration with recent versions of the ePic Blockchain controllers
  - Display of control board type and installation type for next version of the Awesome Miner Antminer S19 firmware
 Features
  - Improve C# scripting features
 Mining software
  - BzMiner 15.4
  - CpuMiner-Opt 3.22.3
  - Nanominer 3.8.3
  - Rigel 1.6.1
  - SrbMiner-Multi 2.3.0
  - TeamRedMiner 0.10.13
  - TT-miner 2023.2.2
  - XmRig 6.20

Hi Patrike,

after some updates it is now hard to get miners running with dual+zil. With teamredminer i set the two algos and pools, but than i must add to the command line in properties the parameters for the first algo and zil, for the second algo AM take what i set as second pool. If i am not adding the first algo to the commandline, AM overrides the pool and wallet setting with the zil parameters.
The same is happen with rigel miner, because it uses for all 3 algos the same parameters -a or -o and AM canīt handle this.
Maybe you can deactivate that AM overrides the parameters, or is it possible to add an field where we can set - ignore pool settings and take only command line in miner properties?

With gminer / srbminer for example it is working like a charm, because gminer /srbminer uses extra parameters for mining zil (--zilserver, --ziluser....).

Also a bug is that AM calculate sometimes only 1 coin instead of 2. Example: i set ERG+IRON -> AM show ERG 1€ / day but no IRON and another miner with same config show it right ERG+IRON 2€ / day. Really strange.

I make a better documentation with screenshots about it on weekend if you need.

EDIT:
Found another bug ->mining 3 coins with rigel results in no stats for gpu, shares, second algo hashrate is 0 ......
I send you the API report via PM, maybe you can see something.

84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 6.2c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: July 03, 2023, 11:07:51 AM
phoenix miner can be used for mine new ethash coins or not?
I am not dev, but try AresMiner.
AresMiner now support all new algo for mining CPU/GPU coins, via KAS, APEEPOW, and other CPU projects.
Fee - 2% for first 30 sec mining.
Hashrate better on Nvidia cards (5-10%)
Github: https://github.com/ProjectAresMiner/AresMiner

2% Fee, for sure this is too high, no proof so not legit, and for sure 30sec dev fee mining at the start -> this bullshit, everytime i do tests or something, i mine first and only too your wallet?
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Rigel 1.6.1 - Radiant, Nexa and IronFish GPU miner (Nvidia only) on: July 03, 2023, 11:03:24 AM
Rigel 1.6.1

* (Ergo) Add ERG+KAS and ERG+KAS+ZIL mining support (see `dual-erg-kas` bat/sh script)
* (Ergo) Add `--autolykos2-prebuild` parameter to enable/disable dataset prebuild (see readme)
* Improve pool re-connection logic (no delay if previous connection attempt was less than 10s ago)
* Make troubleshooting overclock issues easier by only logging the error from the first GPU that crashed - most often this is the GPU that needs further OC tweaking

Bug fixes:
* (Windows) `insufficient memory` error when mining Nexa with 8GB cards
* (Nicehash) `unexpected EOF` error when mining Nexa and Ergo
* Slow hashrate ramp-up if long averaging window is chosen
* (Ethash+Iron) division by zero error

Thanks Rigel, long awaited update. +IRON will come in the future?

I hope you add octopus algo also in future - we need a new competitor for Gminer in this case.

Also an problem for me is, that AM not updating the Coin stats after running for a couple days. Reported several times.
Example:

Conflux price stay 0.24€ but it is 0.30€

If i restart the AM main application i get the real prices, but i donīt want to restart the main application every day. This problem can causing some Profitswitching issues too. Problem exist over the last year.
...

Hi Patrik,

I can confirm this for all coins. Only a restart of AM gets the real prices. Would be nice if you can check that. Thanks
Thanks for the report.

Can you please search the Awesome Miner log file for "Updating Coin Services". It should show up every time the coins are updated. So if you use a 2 minute update interval, you should see this log message every 2 minutes.

Hi Patrik,

that line didn't exist in the old log and I saw many old errors. I checked the Update Interval in "Statistic Providers" and it's set to 2 Minutes.

So I set the Log-Level back to Default, closed AM, deleted the old log and started AM again. In the new log I got that line, but with a false. Is this correct or do I need to setup something else?

Code:
28.05.2023 19:25:37.773 [068] [S]Updating Coin Services, configUpdate: False
28.05.2023 19:25:41.030 [068] [S]Updating Coin Services, configUpdate: False
28.05.2023 19:27:42.018 [068] [S]Updating Coin Services, configUpdate: False
28.05.2023 19:29:42.521 [068] [S]Updating Coin Services, configUpdate: False

Maybe sxemini will have the same issue and need to do the same steps than. Thanks for your help!
Thanks for sharing the log entries.

"Updating Coin Services" indicates that Awesome Miner has downloaded new coin data. The "False" flag only indicates the update wasn't related to a configuration change. From the log file it also looks like it's updated every 2 minutes, like you configured. So based on the log here, your Coins tab should show up-to-date data. Is it both the Coins tab and the coins in the status bar that are stuck with old values?

For some reason I'm not able to reproduce this yet but I'm still investigating. Please let me know any addiitonal findings you make. Thanks!

Hi Patrik,

since I deleted the old log and reenabled the logging, even after a restart of AM, it updates everything perfectly. In the old log there were many errors, but now they are all gone. Sorry, forgot to wrote them down for you.
So, it seems this did the trick. Everything is fine now Smiley

So now i am back after some health issues. I will try this after work today. Hope it will help. Thanks Joseph32 and Patrike

EDIT:

Patrike, can you add dualmining option for rigel autolykos2+radiant and autolykos2+kaspa (rigel 1.6.1)? Maybe you can add an option that we can add custom dual mining algos? As we can add algos, mining software and so on.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia products for AI on: June 19, 2023, 12:38:34 PM
If AMD is forced out of the gaming graphics market, Nvidia will become a monopolist and charge very high prices in that market. Intel can't compete with Nvidia either. AMD share 12% and Intel share 4% in the gaming graphics card market in Q1 2023.

Then! I know.

That's why I say that AMD should invest more in the gamer market, than venture into a market that will have more difficulty growing - AI.
I say this, because if they haven't been able to grow in a gamer market, which theoretically will be easier. I think they will have a much more difficult time with AI, because it will be a much more demanding market.

In the case of Intel, they still have a long way to go, but as they are making a big investment in just over a year in the area, and being one of the largest processor companies, they manage to be better positioned to grow in AI than the AMD. It starts right away with the customers, being much easier for Intel to reach the big players, since it is already there with the processing and servers.
Where did AMD spend all the profits from the sale of video cards for mining?
The X3D processors were unsuccessful. Intel is better and without problems with overheating.

The overheating problem is solved, and it was not only AMDīs fault - The Mainboard Manufacturers do something wrong and the biggest issues has ASUS. I donīt see Intel in front in CPU market - both AMD and Intel do well jobs.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU Mining altcoins on: June 19, 2023, 10:40:23 AM
If you want to mine on CPU, buy Ryzen 2000, 3000 & 5000 series from the second hand market.
3000 & 5000 series basically have same performance for most mining algorithms. Ryzen 1000 just might work if you get them for free as I see people offloading them for real cheap these days. But power consumption might not be optimal for the performance.

They are usually cheap enough for it to be "manageable" if you are adventurous to take a potential no win scenario but just break even.
Don't buy the newest stuff because you will never get back the investment in time.

I don't do this myself but looked into it briefly at times. It's never profitable to put in as a investment but if you have a large cache of used parts it could be done as a side hobby.

If you are upgrading your main PC just for the latest & greatest, your old PC's could be used for this unless you want to hand it over to someone else to be sold or such as parts.
Used parts market have a large supply of potential cheap processors to be used these days with decent performance per unit to be much better than buying the newest generation.

Though GPU mining is much easier to setup & get a return faster.
The payback of such a computer in mining is very doubtful, most likely never. Have you studied processor prices now? The Ryzen 1000, 2000, 3000 and 5000 series processors do not have motherboards for multi-processor installation, so for each processor you have a lot of additional costs for components and additional power consumption when mining.

Exactly. You can only profit if you have already build computers with such processors that for example like I have permission to use work PC-s to do whatever I like as long as I get the job done, you may have also permission of doing so and this means you are mining free of cost and you can try any CPU coins,I have gone with Raptoreum and this is a gamble I am more than willing to make as if this coin hits its previous all time high of almost 0.09 I would be a very happy man and I would be a super happy man if it reaches a new all time high in the next bull run.
What do you do at work if your work computers are busy mining? Smiley
I would probably pay my employee an extra $30 a month so that he does not do extraneous business on working PCs, which after mining will need more frequent cleaning and replacement of thermal paste and of course a good cooling system.

Not only mining,I have also virtual machines running and other financial programs that I monitor as I am the IT so it is like a Operation Center room my office and no one says a thing to me as long as I get the job done and bring money to the company by having their systems in uptime and working as much as possible  Grin.

I am mining with the CPU so not a lot of maintenance is need for CPU mining and I don't see any decrease in performance,I don't do mining because I am badly in need of money but why don't do it when I can and at 0 cost,it is a no brainer I will do it.

So at the end you steal from your employer and nothing more. I am sure he has no idea what you are doing. So this is morally questionable, but you also advertise casinos, so sure you have no morally.

90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which are profitable coins to mine? on: June 12, 2023, 11:09:30 AM
I think that if you already have the gear and you want to run it,even at a small loss, meaning to put little money from your pocket to pay for the energy your GPU-s consume I would suggest you do.I am doing the same,I am running my mining rig dual mining ETC+ZIL and right now is the worse time to do that, nevertheless every single ZIL I make I put it at Atomic Wallet and stake it there, the rewards are good if you have at least 9.000 ZIL in total. You can also run the rig or GPU-s you have if you are a firm believer that we will have a next bull run 1.5 years after the halving which will be in April 2024,meaning the next bull run to be most likely in Q4 2025.

If you don't believe then what is the point in running your GPU-s/rigs,you should turn them off and call it a day while you wait for profitable times, however as already said here it will be difficult to find again such times now.
It's a strange idea to mine ETC+ZIL on video cards. Dual mining does not seem to work on ASICs. If you look at the calculator, then which coins will be unprofitable in terms of profit or in the last places in the calculator. For profit, you need to constantly choose profitable shitcoins, and then exchange them for other shitcoins, the price growth of which you are sure.

That depends on the point of view, while I can agree that many people will agree with your choice I personally will never stop mining ZIL as every single ZIL I mine is staked in Atomic wallet and I also buy at least 1000 or more ZIL-s weekly,I intend to have a huge amount of them the more time passes, the more ZIL I want to have in my wallet but not only that, they will give me additional ZIL-s daily and that is the number one reason I will never leave ZIL out of my mining activity.I always prepare for the long haul and despite seeing a lot of trouble before getting there, usually when I get there I am happy with my achievement.

For ETC I just mine it as it is directly supported to exchange in ZIL through Atomic wallet and that is the reason I have chosen to mine it,as you see I believe strongly in the future of ZIL and all my preparation is geared toward them.

You read about the atomic wallet hack? Donīt use this shit wallet.

Someone of you knows a coins which is profitable to mine with a gpu or  with gpus? Something new, something like Ethereum was years ago.
Miners have been waiting for the new Ethereum for a long time, but for now, you can see the list of coins in this calculator.
https://www.hashrate.no/gpus
There is nothing to mine now, the payback period for the equipment is long. And many coins are more profitable to buy than to mine.

Hashrate.no is to inaccurate. So much missing hashrates, much missing dual mine combinations on many gpus, using software readed wattage for the calculations - this is mostly to low, the commandlines for oc mostly only for lolminer (because they are lolminer admins).......
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why did yall ever start using closed source miners? FRFR on: May 31, 2023, 10:32:50 AM
lolminer is a signed windows application for example, so this is trustable, but also a risk for lolliedieb.

It would not make sense to create a fast open source miner, other one will take this code and make his own miner with a devfee, this is how the world works, sadly for sure.
And in my case, i have no problem to pay a devfee for all the work, but some miner devs take a very high devfee for some algos. I mean all over 2% is too much in my opinion.

But i agree with you, community projects are not seen anymore.

92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: May 24, 2023, 01:13:56 PM

I solved problem with dual/tripple mining. Thanks for !!STSMiner (ZPool operator), he show me his setup. The problem was, that i define my own algo for Dynex which contains all specialized parameters for SRBMulti software. Looks like AM not love this tricks. After i start using default algorithm definition, AM work in dual and tripple mode smooth.

Should be also possible if you define your own Dynex Algo. You must check the Commandline created by AM. Right click on the miner and view details. Here you can see the created commandline and mostly you can find the failure their.

Small bug i found if AM in "managed miner" mode and in "dual" mode. If you change pool for first algo and then click "restart" the new pool will not be accepted and miner start mining with old value. Only "Stop" then "Start" apply changes. Regards.

This is not Bug, it is a feature. After you change your managed miner properties, you must stop and start the miner. The managed miner only takes over the settings after the first manual start. If you only restart, AM not transfering new settings to the Remote Client. It need some time to send all settings to the clients. In my opinion it is good like it is, but you must know that.

You donīt mine much with managed miner right? Maybe i can help you with some settings or problems, i am using AM since 2018.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: May 23, 2023, 01:08:29 PM
Hi Patrike, SRBMulti 2.2.5 realised, user now can dual mine Dynex+Radiant, but with AM this is imposible.
In SRBMulti can be defined algorithm, pool, wallet, password values for each involved in mining algorithm separatly. User can multiple times define --algorithm --wallet --password --pool arguments, SRBMulti create a collection and add every similar parameter definition to this collection, but  AM overwrite all definitions with the last value. This made imposible to start dual mining with this method of parameters definition.
I have maqnually created a command string where every algorithm, pool, wallet, etc. was defined with individual --algorithm --pool --wallet parameters and executed over terminal and this allow me to mine in dual mode. But if AM create command line, then only last defined values will be used. Please clear this bug. Regards.
Thanks for your question. I'm not really able to understand this issue: "AM overwrite all definitions with the last value"

If I have a miner with dual configured, where I select one Pool and one Secondary Pool, the command line I get from Awesome Miner is for example:
--algorithm etchash
--pool stratum+tcp://us1-etc.ethermine.org:4444
--wallet <ETC-ADDRESS>
--password x
--algorithm sha512_256d_radiant
--pool stratum+tcp://stratum-eu.rplant.xyz:7086
--wallet <RADIANT-ADDRESS>
--password x
--api-enable
--api-port 4039

This starts the dual mining perfectly fine. I don't see what kind of parameters that would be overwritten here. Awesome Miner simply adds a second set of algorithm+pool+wallet+password parameters when you enable dual mining.

The example above is without any manually configured command line arguments. Are you using any manual parameters as well?
Hi Patrike, looks like in your example, you use Managed Miner mode, but i am try in Managed Profit mode. Arguments for secondary coin (Radiant) i put in Profit profile in "command line parameters" field for algorithm Dynex. And this combination not work for me. Miner start mining only Radiant.
Diagnostic show me, that the generated command string contains only one --algorithm parameter and this is Radiant, which i have put in "command line parameters". If i try to add a additional --algorithm dynex in "command line parameters" (before radiant) then i recive error from SRBMulti: You defined less pools than algorithms. I simple cant use dual mining due AM overwrite first --algorithm with --algorithm from my command line instead to add next algo defenition. Normaly, i am awaiting that the AM use main algo from my pool definition and additional algo i define in command lines parameters field. Try self this scenario in Managed Profit mode. Regards

Thanks for the update. I think we run into the limitation of the Profit switcher and dual mining with other primary algorithms than EtHash. It's unfortunately limited here to reduce the number of possible combinations. These days I understand that it may not be good enough where more and more algorithm combinations are supported for dual mining via a number of mining software.
Maybe you can add some selector in profit profile for every algorithm which switch the mode how command line will be generated.
mode1: normal generation
mode2: AM use only data from "command line arguments" field only. And only statistics conection params will be added from AM. In this mode, user must self init all pool connection parameters for miner.
So is my suggestion. Regards

Upd: Just try to start dual mining DNX+RXD in "Managed Miner" mode, get the same problem. The second --algorithm parameter will be overwritten with the last value. I also try to put second deffenition of --algorithm param in command line, no success. I wrote to SRBMulti dev, maybe he can add a alternative method for second algo defenition, like --algorithm2 param.

Upd: Same problem if i use "Managed Miner" mode and choose "Generic miner" where i define all parameters for both algos (DNX+RDX). --algorithm will be overriden with last defenition. Looks like dual mining work only with ETC and ETH as first (main) algo. Maybe now is time to add this dual mining mode for Dynex? Becouse DNX is very promised algo for future. Regards.

I mining DYN+IRON with the integrated dual mining function - it is working good. I tested also DYN+RXD = No Problem.

But i can confirm the problem that AM override pool definitions when i add for example a second --algorithm via commandline, but not only for SRBminer, also for Teamredminer and so on.

Finally there is a single build for all CUDA versions.
Also, we added Kaspa and now nanominer suports dual, triple and quad mining.
version 3.8.0 in triple maning mode does not work well Undecided
there was some kind of failure (perhaps from the program itself or from the fact that one of the cards number 2 fell off) after which everything went wrong, the found shares were not accepted, as a result, more than six hours of work wasted
https://ufile.io/avxz53eb log

Use other miners, nanominer is not worth. BZminer, teamredminer, srbminer, rigel, gminer all can handle mining 3 coins at the same time with a much higher hashrate and for sure a much better support.

Yes it is a shitcoin - they using a similar name to get the stupid people mining their coin, because they thinking it must be a good coin. The same happens after the "Hash Wars" in 2018 between BTC and BCH - after that so many Coins with BTC in their name pop up to take some money from stupid people.

And i donīt how people think an Ethash coin can be the next big think for GPU miners  Huh ethash is owned by asics now

wrong syntax for dualmining ironfish with teamredminer. The argument for mining ironfish alone is -a ironfish. This is ok, but for dual mining the arguments are --iron and --iron_end but awesomeminer use --ironfish and --ironfish_end but thats wrong and doesnīt work.

I got an Antminer S5 somewhere in a box collecting dust in my basement. I think with all these crazy BTC fees we are getting it might be profitable again.

I modded this ASIC and it’s fairly quiet and you can probably sleep in the same room. Would sure bring back memories to the good old 2015 days when Bitcoin was $200.

Ok if you want to burn money, sure you can, but this thing will never be profitable again.

If electricity permits and even if it does not as long as you are a firm believer of Bitcoin increase in price in the future and you expect like many others no longer than the end of 2025 to be the next bull run go ahead and turn it on,even if it is just for a few days or weeks.Even better if you can sleep in the same room with it meaning it is extremely quiet and the more quiet it is the less energy should it consume no?

I wonder why we got to these crazy Bitcoin fees as nothing really happened in the market to make such huge fees out of nowhere.

Nothing happened? Brc20 token happened.

make 5-7 clones of itself.

wow nice failure description - in most such cases the failure is sitting in front of the monitor.

Look
https://aleo.zionodes.com/

Running an Aleo Node with your own setup is a tedious task, but it is manageable. To do so, you will need at the very least the following system requirements:
CPU: 16 Cores (32 preferred)
RAM: 16GB (32 preferred)
Operating System: Ubuntu 20.04 is recommended, but 18.04 should work
Storage: 128GB
Network: 50 Mbps Upload/Download
https://zionodes.com/blog/how-to-set-up-aleo-mining-pool

I didn't find this coin on https://miningpoolstats.stream/.
It seems that its mining is over and now you need to make a node.

Aleo was never listed on miningpoolstats.stream - it is mineable. Also it is not listed on coinmarketcap or any reliable exchange. It is in testnet3 state.

You posted the requirements for an Node for your own mining pool, so it is mineable, but not worth - testnet3

GMiner v3.19 available for download

v3.19
