What the h*ll is happening with Darkcoin? Its market cap is almost 100 million usd...

I suggest do a XMR collect, send it to Amanda B Johnsons in a multisign fashion and release it to her only when she pumps it to the stratosphere.

Let´s brainstorm the details

Actually I like the idea.
Just raising bounty for Monero marketing for 3 years.
200 XMR/day for pumping would be released.
It costs 219 000 XMR all together, and probably it will be bringing tons of new blood into the community.
It can be indeed Amanda B Johnson or someone else. I do not really care but the important thing is that the word gets out.

200/day  seems a bit too much. We are looking for a truly believer, not a mercenary. 50/day during lets say 6 months, coinciding with the feb dates is, I think, more than enought. 2-3 videopodcast per week. I really like the Amanda profile, as she knows enought about crypto cogs  and she has a nice flow in the communication department. Watch:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMamUypjrZ0

I think 6 months is way too short period... In the beginning it takes time people even find the vids, after the follower base is somewhat decent it takes also time for people to adapt a new paradigm. For smarter people it takes less time than the average people. However, I think 6 months is way too short period of time.

Social media such as Youtube is definetely the way to attract the large masses, perhaps also traditional blogs as well (from the blogs more sophisticated people are attracted because those people tend to love reading).

Is now a good time to buy XMR or do you guys think it will come down some and offer a better entry.

I suggest you seek professional financial advice from someone licensed to do such a thing.

Make sure they are a "Fiduciary" and not a "financial advisor", there is a huge difference. Wink

I think Monero is very promising and I put my money where my mouth is.
But this thread is an echo chamber populated with a mix of starry-eyed evangelists, and the odd troll here and there....

Bullshit! I call them like I see them. Prove otherwise.

Thrash needs advertising, gold doesn't - it just needs to be discovered and the army of gold diggers will follow.
Monero has excellent web wallet for almost two years and it doesn't even have a faucet, yet most people on this thread are acting like vacuum cleaner salesman. Instead of spreading awareness (faucets, blogs, etc ...) they are following the DASHoles way (even suggesting to use same PR as them), whats next - worshiping the holy vending machine or dragging in your friends & family to build a bigger ponzi pyramid?
If you really love your Monero bag then there's no need for aggressive advertising campaign cos that would mean you only want to get rid of it @higher price possible.
Here's a boner for all of you that think advertising will bring financial freedom to the world:

PS
Just wrote to Faucetbox support asking about possibility of adding Monero, ready to chip in 100XMR to make it real, hope they'll answer soon Cool

Chances are it will come down quite a bit after zcash promotion engine starts revving up. But will it be a good entry I don't know.

So are you basically saying Risto starts dumping his Moneros because of zcash promotion?  Shocked

Why would anybody think of buying zcash? Well, much for the same reason as buying monero.

I think zcash will help spread the word about fungibility.

I was thinking. For someone who wanted ultimate privacy, they could run their funds through every privacy centric crypto on the market. Their privacy would be a function of the strongest link in the chain not the weakest. So even if there are some concerns that zcash may have a few too many moving parts to offer true piece of mind it could have strong utility for the previously mentioned reason.

Zcash could also be added as a sidechain to Monero. It would basically act as a mixer on top of an already fungible blockchain then. This provides, in my opinion, better privacy than Zcash itself, where you have fully transparent basecoins (basically Bitcoins) and the anonymous zerocoins.

Privacy matters, use Monero - A true untraceable cryptocurrency

Zcash had some serious scalability problems last I looked.  Has anything changed?

I still don't get why people don't talk about the elephant in the room in regards to Zcash.

http://www.scipr-lab.org

50% of Zcash are Israeli ex-military cryptographers, aka Israeli SIGINT.

How can anyone trust that?

Lol, if you try to avoid Israeli inventions you basically need to move to the cave. You are probably using computer that has many Israeli inventions inside.

If something, the involvement of the brightest minds and businesspeople, should be a bullish sign and to me it is a buy-signal if Israeli brains are involved because most likely it will succeed.  Wink

You miss the point.  It's not a boycott of genocide.  It's avoiding a honeypot.

I would have, maybe naively, thought that the keyword was "military", rather than "Israeli"...

I suppose I would be less worried about the Vatican military's crypto subversion prowess, though, I admit.

For $25 (with a $75 coupon) AdWords estimates I can get 50,000 clicks out of 1,500,000 impressions for this, on my keyword mix:

Never having used it, I am not so sure of their numbers.  Anyhow, just a thought.

You guys really are convincing me to buy Zcash...

Yes, I am looking for profit and I will go where it can be found and I am not seeing any unethical thing that Mossad is taking part in developing Zcash, actually it is a bullish for the project since they have the brightest minds of the brightest (it is not easy to get a job from Mossad).

People are having similar arguments on Darkcoin but despite this, it is pumping up. Therefore, they are doing obviosuly something right and Monero community something wrong (still in the very same trading range since late 2014).

If those AdWords estimates hold up, for 50 XMR per diem, burning 4 intro accounts daily we would get 200,000 hits on we.use.cash, and 6,000,000 people each day being exposed to Monero as private secure and fungible.  I think that might shake things up a bit.  Need a few weeks of GUI burn-in first, though.
