101  Other / Meta / Re: Can a moderator be wrong? on: April 02, 2024, 03:24:21 AM

If you are quite certain that the thread belongs to gambling board, you can try moving the thread back to gambling board again.

Now this is another problem to be clear with, moving threads that were already moved by a MOD, isn’t that disagreeing with the Moderators decision? What’s the punishment for that, a temp ban? I think OP might just use the other option of just giving the MOD a better reason of why it should be where he posted just same way the MOD might have been written to move it to off topic from the first place

When I had less experience in the forum somebody reported a post I made in the gambling discussion board and it was moved to off-topic. Another user advised me to move it back to gambling discussion so I did, but a moderator then moved it to off-topic again. After moving it back a second time, a mod put it back in off-topic. I did not receive a ban for this but I learned it’s better to just let these kind of things go. I’ve also had posts deleted which I felt were relevant to the topic and after inquiring a mod about it received no reply. The mods will do what they think is best and there’s not much point trying to go against them.
102  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi Wallet - Open Source, Noncustodial Coinjoin Software on: April 02, 2024, 02:09:11 AM
Why should it spend an input to create another output with no added anonymity score?

Even if the 171.79 outputs didn’t gain any privacy in this round, they still needed to be divided into smaller amounts to gain privacy in further rounds. This whale also registered an additional 200 BTC in another round for a total of 1050 BTC. When most rounds have well under that amount in total liquidity, reaching the 100% privacy target is going to be a long process and there will be some large coins which might not gain much privacy initially.
103  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FixedFloat has been hacked (26M $) on: April 01, 2024, 11:10:34 PM
It seems like they were probably hacked again. Their website went offline some hours ago. Millions in ETH, stablecoins, and BNB has been transferred from their hot wallets and some of it has been swapped using eXch.

The ETH wallet 0x4E5B2e1dc63F6b91cb6Cd759936495434C7e972F was the same one that was hacked in February.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Meme" coins are ruining everything on: April 01, 2024, 04:33:13 AM
Ideally, the free market will sort things out and push these things to the fringes. That’s not how things have played out, however. There are just too many gambling degenerates, scammers, and useful idiots wanting to make a quick buck without putting any effort or creating something useful. Meme coins are just pump and dumps hoping they will catch on with enough people and keep their scam going longer. Sometimes they will receive the endorsement of a high profile celebrity like Elon Musk, but these investments are anything but sound. Many investors and Elon cultists hoping to change their life by buying scammy garbage will learn the hard way that these shitcoin pumping grifters don’t have their best interests at heart.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you considered staking? on: April 01, 2024, 04:12:58 AM
You might want to move this thread to the Altcoin Discussion section.

I do not own any Ethereum at the moment. The expected APR from staking is not attractive enough in and of itself but I believe there are other ways to earn yield by staking with certain pools like Lido or centralized custodians such as those part of the Liquid Collective. Anything custodial and requiring KYC is out of the question and not worth considering for me.

Liquid staked ethereum is kind of an oxymoron, those tokens are not real ethereum, but only an IOU representing your stake. There are of course some risks with using your staked ETH tokens in DeFi, but it’s an enticing approach that can yield significant rewards.
106  Other / Meta / Re: Adjustments to Merit calculation on: April 01, 2024, 02:38:32 AM
It is not yet April 1st in my time zone so I was really fooled by this. I saw a user with negative merit and a poop emoji under their name so I googled if it was possible to have negative merit on Bitcointalk, which led me to this thread.

On a serious note, new ways to combat spam on the forum would be welcomed if they were well thought out and implemented effectively.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Greenaddress: Bitcoins lost when transferring wallets from old phone to new one on: March 31, 2024, 06:08:02 PM
I have never had an account on binance

By observing the movements of that Binance account you can see that the incoming BTC are immediately transferred to this address:
https://platform.arkhamintelligence.com/explorer/address/bc1qgzrva028eym96uax90j28qj3aqhh3dy8gk6qvp
He should be the thief son of a bitch, right?

The address it was moved to is a wallet Binance is using to consolidate deposits.

In order to recover your funds you will have to follow the instructions on this page
https://www.binance.com/en/support/faq/how-to-report-stolen-funds-transferred-to-binance-360000006051

Hi, thanks for reply.

They put a message that they were not going to use the legacy addresses anymore, and instead P2SH addresses, that's why I created a new one, which starts with 3Ps..., and made the deposit.

I have not seen this message anywhere on the site, their social media, or marketing emails. On my account I can only generate legacy addresses for deposits. I am skeptical about this being a genuine message you received. If you can show a screenshot of this message it might be useful in determining its legitimacy.

They should have updated to wrapped segwit addresses many years ago. It could be they were doing some testing that they rolled back for now and that’s why the address doesn’t appear anymore.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Greenaddress: Bitcoins lost when transferring wallets from old phone to new one on: March 31, 2024, 05:07:19 AM
I had downloaded greenaddress long before 2021, in fact, then I had uninstalled it when I sold the old phone, and when I installed it again on the Samsung S10 I searched for it on the Play Store and searching for "greenaddress" I found this app:

is it a scam?

or is it the phone I bought used here: https://tomatosmartphone.it/ that could contain malware?

That is the real Blockstream Green wallet that replaced the old GreenAddress. We can now rule out having installed a scam app. Buying a refurbished phone doesn’t necessarily mean it will have malware, especially if it was factory reset and has the stock operating system from Samsung.

I don't know what happened but I don't think your wallet was hacked or someone stole your coins, certainly not because you imported your wallet into a new device!

I saw the screenshots you shared and I noticed the notification on your wallet stating that the transaction which moved your coins is "possibly self transfer"!
So I looked up the transaction on a block explorer: https://mempool.space/address/3C6J7r24XYim8CwKPvCdU6Dg1NmnwEwFLy
It appears your coins were sent back to the address which has sent them to you almost a year ago.

As I said, I don't know what happened but if you can remember where you got the coins from then you may figure out what happened.

You are reading the block explorer wrong. The transaction from a year ago shows him receiving BTC in his Green wallet address 3C6J7r24XYim8CwKPvCdU6Dg1NmnwEwFLy. After that, the funds were swept two weeks ago from this address to a different address which is 1J51SvXqXaCuUb6SeuDPw5d7g6WLkY24rX. Whenever you make a transaction that doesn’t have any change, Blockstream.info’s heuristics will say it is a possible self-transfer. It doesn’t mean you actually transferred to yourself, but it’s an assumption that is sometimes helpful in blockchain analysis.

Looking at the address where the funds were swept to it appears to be a Binance deposit address.
https://platform.arkhamintelligence.com/explorer/address/1J51SvXqXaCuUb6SeuDPw5d7g6WLkY24rX

@amadirok you should check your Binance account to see if you made a recent deposit that you do not remember.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu - Seabastian Fundora For The WBC And WBO Super Welterweight March 30 on: March 31, 2024, 04:36:46 AM
Fundora’s freakish height caused this to become a really messy and bloody fight after Tszyu’s head clashed with Fundora’s elbow. I expected this fight to be stopped by the ringside doctor or the referee but the pace slowed down significantly and the injuries on both fighters didn’t get too much worse.

Despite the height difference Tszyu was still able to hit Fundora cleanly and it looked early on like he would get a clear win. Unfortunately, the cut was affecting his vision. This allowed Fundora to jab his way to a close decision victory. The situation with the titles now becomes complicated because Crawford successfully petitioned the WBO to become mandatory but PBC had other plans involving Errol Spence. Tszyu also deserves a rematch against Fundora.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rolando Romero-Isaac Cruz to meet on March 30 in Las Vegas. on: March 31, 2024, 02:46:02 AM
Cruz is all serious business here while Romero continues to clowning his opponent to the point of giving him the middle finger in their weigh-in. And we have seen many fighters already who trash talk before the fight but ended up losing in a bad fashion. So I wouldn't be surprised if Romero goes down hard in the canvass stiff and can't get up from the power of Isaac Cruz.

Romero’s behaviour showed his lack or seriousness and credibility. He might be the most delusional fighter in the sport and that says a lot when there are mentally unstable people like Ryan Garcia around.

Isaac Cruz is very one dimensional but that was more than enough to beat someone as limited as Romero, whose only strategy was to run around and hug a lot in order to avoid getting knocked out. The strategy backfired miserably and Romero was dominated the entire fight before eventually getting knocked out.

I hope to never see Rolly fighting for an undeserved title ever again. I expect Pitbull will probably get a big fight against Tank Davis. He is a popular fighter with a title who doesn’t pose as much of a threat as Haney or Shakur. It is a marketable in-house fight for PBC that will allow Tank to further avoid the other champions I mentioned.

@TheQuin

I made a deposit to a new address created on Freebitco.in, but it was never credited to my account.
Tx ID: 52700fe35f5956309e53516045840d394202647b7d8bdcfb578a76c0f7648211

The new address is this, now, it no longer appears in my account:

MY Freebitco.in User ID: 51895659

Can you review it please.
Thank you

FreeBitco.in deposit addresses are legacy addresses that start with a 1. When you copied the address it is possible you might have instead pasted a different address that was in your clipboard. That might be why the QR code is missing, because your deposit address was replaced with something the site didn’t recognize.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 30, 2024, 11:31:00 AM
Apparently the rules have been leaked, thought nothing 100% confirmed yet:

https://twitter.com/DramaAlert/status/1773769023165005861

Quote
• 16 oz gloves
• 2 minute rounds
• No official judges
• No winner unless KO
• Each fighter must pass a EEG & EKG test

If true then it's kind of a hybrid between an exhibition and a pro fight. Probably the best for Tyson to be honest. I do wonder whether either party will actually go for a KO though or is it just gonna essentially be a leisurely spa/exhibition.

It would be a bad look for Netflix to have an old guy get beat up badly. The whole thing was a stupid idea from the beginning. 16 oz gloves are only used for sparring so that gives us an idea of what to expect. It won’t be a real fight and might not even be entertaining to watch. It will draw viewers and make a lot of money only because it’s such a freak show.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 30, 2024, 05:36:01 AM
129.6 - Wilson pounds and Valdez 129.7 pounds. Good to see that both make the weight without any problems.

This is going to be a great battle, this two doesn't back down from any challenge. It's going to be one of the best fights if they live up to the hype and both shows their warrior mentality.

In typical Valdez fashion the fight lived up to the hype and it was an exciting slugfest. Valdez with his experience proved to be the better fighter tonight, although he did have to take some damage. Valdez is champion once again, albeit an interim one, and will have the opportunity to make some intriguing matchups against some of the other belt holders. All the wars he’s been in have taken their toll but I think he still has enough to beat somebody like O’Shaquie Foster.

For Wilson, I can imagine the disappointment he feels. The last time he fought in Arizona the referee gave his opponent extra time to recover and this time around the fight was perhaps stopped prematurely. Wilson wasn’t showing much defense but Valdez was running out of gas and his punches were becoming less effective. With only a few seconds left in the round Wilson should have been given the opportunity to continue.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Greenaddress: Bitcoins lost when transferring wallets from old phone to new one on: March 30, 2024, 04:58:20 AM
Where was the wallet you imported your seed into downloaded from? Blockstream ended support for GreenAddress wallet in 2021. If you tried to import your seed into a wallet named GreenAddress instead of Blockstream Green, it is very likely that it was a fake wallet that isn’t related to Blockstream at all. Your Bitcoin is gone for good if you inadvertently gave the seed to an attacker.

118  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: More Regulation Incoming! on: March 28, 2024, 06:01:52 AM
@zasad@. I am not quite certain what you are implying when you mentioned the social rating system because those wallets in the blockchain are anonymous. However, I agree that there are these wallets that were involved in receiving stolen coins but what I am arguing about are the identities of the wallets. Lazarus Group's wallet is only an allegation that it belongs to North Korean hackers. We cannot be sure that there are North Korean hackers because we do not know or cannot prove that they have good programmers and computer scientists in their country. They might not also have internet hehehehe.

Blockchain analysis and digital forensics used to blame North Korea are both examples of pseudoscience being weaponized by governments in order to take more rights away and to weaken those they see as enemies. Just like the Sony hack, the evidence wasn’t entirely convincing — North Korea is just an easy scapegoat. When people have been conditioned through endless propaganda not many are willing to question the official narrative, regardless of how dubious it might seem upon closer inspection. As long as they are told it’s for their own protection everyone just accepts that now everything will require more and more privacy invasion, they aren’t allowed to use privacy tech, and they are heavily restricted by how they can spend and transfer their money.

take almost 12h or little more so next time i will not pay extra fees ,, but still legit and paid

It is good you received your payment but in the future you might not want to make time-sensitive payments from a custodial service. Even though they are advertised as instant withdrawals they can sometimes undergo manual review which will cause your payment to be delayed. I only ever use the slow withdrawal option because the fees are much cheaper and there isn’t that stress of needing to have it completed immediately.
120  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEBITCO.IN SCAM, DEPOSIT NOT CREDITED on: March 28, 2024, 04:58:18 AM
In the past they’ve said FreeBitco.in is a 2 person operation with some assistance in marketing and coding. TheQuin also handles other duties so customer service is only a part-time thing. For a website whose user base has grown massively reaching tens of millions of people each month, according to Semrush, it no longer seems reasonable to rely on such a small team. For them to be giving away lambos every few months it clearly shows they have the budget to invest more in their support.

We get some help from a PR consultancy for the marketing, social media etc. and a friend of wetsuit's who helps out with the HTML coding and page design. Other than that it's just the 2 of us.
