81  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: April 09, 2024, 09:13:08 AM
Hi,
Today, I was playing Muli-BTC as usual and then after some time my account has been locked.
I have only one account, I was not using any VPN and I was not using any bots.
I'm highroller and premium user since the beginning of this program. I'm active FBC user.
As normal I was just using built-in feature "auto-bet" and that's all.
In my history I made a lot of deposits and withdrawals and I've never had a problem.

Now when I'm logged in, I have just a blank page with a message:
"Your account is locked. Please contact @hallohap_1 on telegram or fellowyun@proton.me email. Failure to comply will result to a lost of funds."

After some time, e-mail address has changed and at present it is:
Your account is locked. Please contact @hallohap_1 on telegram or bellera12@proton.me email. Failure to comply will result to a lost of funds

That's very disturbing.

I've just got a response from this email.
"Your browser is hacked. Send 0.5 btc to bc1qhrdvuxrealra5xm7qsu9tyh06k3frcrzuvsms7 to unlock it. Why trust me? I cant withdraw your money because it needs otp and email. Ill wait 1hr before I drain it"

What the heck?

It definitely sounds like you have malware. Scan your devices for trojans or other virus, and then try to access the website on a clean device. If this ransom message isn’t present, then change the password. Do not send them any payment. It seems like they are bluffing about draining your account.
82  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: April 09, 2024, 06:47:01 AM
tyz was already caught on plagiarism earlier. Here we see his ban appeal. Now he is using an AI for his posts as it mentioned here.

Text.ru plagiarism detector found that this post is plagiarised via slight rewriting from mainly https://citizenside.com/technology/how-does-new-technology-affected-the-modern-workplace/ and https://www.quickfms.com/blog/how-technology-has-reshaped-the-workplace:

Grammarly also detected significant plagiarism on that post. If you look at the Citizenside website, it is full of SEO optimized AI-generated content. I am not sure if tyz actually plagiarized them or just used a similar ChatGPT prompt as the article writer. What is obvious, without a doubt, is that certain content submitted by tyz is not their own. Similar behavior has gotten them banned previously, that they’ve continued to make these mistakes is just headshaking.
83  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: April 09, 2024, 01:22:07 AM
User: tyz

They are not the worst spammer on the forum, a great amount of their posts are still genuine, however it seems they have not learned from their previous offenses. In 2019, this user was permanently banned for plagiarism. After submitting an appeal, the ban was changed to 60 days and 1 year signature ban.

When diving into the world of cryptocurrency, Bitcoin's seemingly exorbitant price can be daunting for beginners. That's why alternative coins and meme-based coins appear more appealing due to their lower cost. It's a tempting path to explore, but it's crucial to approach it with caution. Diversifying your investments by allocating a portion to riskier altcoins and meme coins while maintaining the majority in established cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin can strike a balance. This strategy offers the potential for substantial gains from riskier investments while safeguarding the bulk of your funds in more established assets.

The concept of buying Bitcoin at the dip refers to purchasing the cryptocurrency when its price experiences a significant drop, with the expectation that it will rise again in the future. This strategy is based on the belief that Bitcoin's value will recover and potentially increase over time. However, the challenge is that nobody can say when a correction is really over (has reached its low) and also not that the price will rise again afterwards. All we can say is that it has always been like this in the past, but that is no guarantee that it will be like this in the future.  This leads to the question of whether it's possible to buy Bitcoin dips.

84  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi Wallet - Open Source, Noncustodial Coinjoin Software on: April 08, 2024, 10:52:28 AM
Or, you know, the client software is problematic and chooses to waste block space because it can't tell before joining, that the 171 outputs are seemed as provably owned by one entity.  Roll Eyes

The client didn’t choose to waste block space. The user created these coins in a different wallet and sent them to Wasabi. The user’s settings allowed them to register 4 inputs in this round, where they gained privacy on a portion on their 850 BTC. The 171 BTC outputs are a rare case of non-private change being created because one participant had a much larger amount of BTC than everybody else. The client is aware these are non-private coins and would’ve registered their BTC in future rounds until the full amount was private.

Any method of trying to make it more block space efficient seems like it would be impractical, doesn’t give any privacy, and wouldn’t save a meaningful amount of block space in this user’s mixing process as a whole.
85  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: April 08, 2024, 07:40:42 AM
If it was a phishing site, how do you explain the following:
1) same message for address change appearing on my mobile app and on the browser
2) reward points updated correctly in their database; just prior to depositing, the lost bets caused an adequate increase in the reward points status, and this amount is still there.  I used the same page to deposit.  I'm no expert, but I would suppose if it was a phishing site, then the whole webpage would need to be a scam, not just the part which was related to the new address notification and the QR code.
3) they corrected the link for generating new bitcoin address after we brought it to attention, now this "new deposit address" button is working properly

It would be too big of a conspiracy theory all 3 above to be true.

There are several ways to just compromise part of a website. It could’ve been a sophisticated man-in-the-middle attack or a malicious extension injecting the notification in your browser. There are even some websites that look exactly like FreeBitco.in and have nearly identical functionality. I don’t know the likelihood of these scenarios, but it would really clear things up if they responded directly to your concerns.

I'm not concerned the money hasn't been sent to freebitco.in as. I've followed the wallet transfers it's definitely with them..

I'm not so sure about that. I also tried tracing the blockchain transactions from the addresses mentioned, but couldn't find any evidence that they are related to known FreeBitcoin wallets. Can you point me to the evidence why you think these addresses are "with them"?

Comparing these user’s FreeBitco.in deposits with my own, my most recent deposit was consolidated along with several other deposits 24 hours ago. I also have another recent deposit that was consolidated into their hot wallet. None of these transfers follow the same consolidation pattern as these affected users, whose deposits were first swept into a Bech32 address and then consolidated. If the purpose for changing addresses to a new format is to save fees, it doesn’t make sense to add an extra step in between depositing and consolidation.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: April 08, 2024, 06:32:54 AM
How come that clown was able to knock out more experienced opponents if was a «yellow belter» ? That clown had a fight against a professional boxer (if you would say that other opponents were not boxers and were retired), and he did not looked bad. Lost by split decision, but he wasnt knocked out, humiliated or destroyed. The clown has been training boxing for 4-6 years already, and you still call him a «yellow belter». Do you think that during last 4-6 years Mike Tyson has been frequently seen in the boxing gym or in regular gym? From your post it sounds like it will be a beating, but there is always a chance for a sudden knockout.

Tommy Fury is not a boxer. He is a reality TV star and social media influencer who happens to have had a few pro fights against bums with losing records. The fact that Jake Paul lost to him only proves his mediocrity. Since that loss, Jake’s level of competition has only gotten worse, with his most recent opponents being an Uber driver and an oil rig worker. Describing him as a clown is entirely accurate because anybody with a reasonable understanding considers him a laughingstock.

No, Mike Tyson hasn’t been in a boxing gym for the past 6 years, nor should he be. He is an old man who retired from the sport decades ago. Jake Paul has no hope at succeeding against truly elite fighters in their prime, which is why he has to resort to these insane spectacles. Acting a fool for money is what he has always done best.
87  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: April 07, 2024, 06:00:04 AM
I'm just interested to see who will win the 3 ETH as I wasn't able to see it live because of timezone difference but here it is,

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/04/06/VgJ7Z.png

And it will be awesome if he is a member of our community.

In any case, congrats to him, value at $10,000, that is a huge win and we also have to thank of course Metawin for another successful promotion.

Now that they have added competitions on the Base L2 network, I am trying my luck by at least claiming the free entry. My only complaint is that the recommended gas fee is set too high and if you don’t modify it to a lower value you will end up spending a few dollars instead of a few cents to enter all the competitions.

88  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [banned mixer] yomix Scam Attention, everyone, stay away immediately!! on: April 07, 2024, 05:35:01 AM
Do you have any evidence to back your claim? If you had taken screenshots it would have helped but as icopress stated, a Letter of Guarantee would have been the perfect evidence. Do you have it?

A letter of guarantee would reveal sensitive information that they might not be comfortable sharing publicly. If that is the case then I would advise to share it through anonymous communication with a trusted member, like icopress, who can then confirm if they were scammed. The OP has not returned to the forum since making this accusation so it might remain unsolved.

There is also a Redditor who was crying foul play about a month ago ([banned mixer] is a pure scam! Beware, but then 17 days back he claimed they had paid him back his money.

That user claims they received a reply from YoMix on Telegram, but I can’t find any link to their official Telegram on YoMix’s website or announcement threads. I wonder if this user is trying to scam people by pretending to be their support.

I did find this other accusation on Reddit, translated from Russian: "There's nothing good about this mixer, it left me, it's been 16 days, and nothing came. Technical support is silent. Avoid this YoMix scammer. If someone is interested in screenshots and the like, Telegram also has scammers for this support."
89  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why not create a Gambling platform on Market narrative? on: April 07, 2024, 02:36:24 AM
You are describing something that is very similar to futures trading or prediction markets. These things already exist. Memecoins aren't always listed on them, I imagine it might be due to the high probability of getting badly rekt. You can also just buy these tokens outright if you think their price will go up. The interest in these coins will fizzle out rapidly, so it is not worth building a new platform specifically for memecoins.
90  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Buy passport or coldcard on: April 06, 2024, 07:04:03 PM
When I bought my Mk4 model last year I ordered it with the blue color directly from Coinkite website but they sent me the plain white version. When I complained about it NVK told me that to see the blue color you have to buy a blacklight. I was like wtf are you kidding me nowhere does it say on Coinkite website that a blacklight is needed to see the color. I told him he was full of shit. I don't know why they would lie about something like this? It makes me wonder what else they could be lying about. NVK is a headcase.

I don't think it is even possible to buy a color version of any Coldcard even though several color choices are offered on their official website. I have never seen anyone on Youtube or anywhere else that actually has a Coldcard that isn't the plain white version. If you order one of the colors offered you will only get the white color. That is fraud.

The colored versions do exist but there is also a ‘glow in the dark’ variant, which looks clear under normal light, but has some kind of coating to make it look blue under black light. They probably messed up your order and sent the wrong version, or you could’ve mistakenly added it to your cart without reading the description.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is one altcoin you will never invest in 2024 even if it has massive pump? on: April 06, 2024, 09:04:54 AM
I have speculated on many altcoins since I became interested in cryptocurrency, and it rarely works out well. In most cases, I would have been better off holding Bitcoin instead. Over the years, I have decreased my altcoin investments.

I’m open-minded enough to consider anything that has the potential for profit, but I don’t see myself ever buying any memecoins. I had some Doge in the past, which mostly came from faucets, but I didn’t see any redeeming value in it, so I dumped it when it started to pump. I might’ve made more if I held it for longer, but it’s not a risk I’m willing to take.

No, unfortunately I didn't capture the message, it said that legacy addresses will no longer be used, and you should only deposit to P2SH addresses. Deposits to old addresses were going to charge an additional fees.

As you say at the end, I also think that it was something temporary and they turned it back.
I have not received a response from either support or TheQuin.
I hope they fix it and that address is still assigned to my account.

Now that I am looking at your previous screenshot again, it does look like this message was displaying on your account. It is partially blocked by the DEPOSIT BITCOINS pop-up but inside the third yellow notification box there is a message that has to do with addresses.

Hopefully they will go back and credit these deposits, but maybe they are waiting until the address changes are officially implemented.
93  Other / Meta / Re: AI generated content by newbies on: April 06, 2024, 06:17:08 AM
Using face validity to check AI-generated content might be highly deceptive. I read that one of the ways of identifying them is that they usually have no grammatical or spelling errors. But with the popularity of Grammer checking tools like Grammerly which help writers to produce close-to-perfect writing, this method of identifying these AI writing will not work. As Lucius rightly pointed out, the best option is to check these suspected posts in more than one detecting software.to check its authenticity.

The typical methods of identifying AI-written content are also not always reliable because most chatbots and rewriting tools now have premium settings which allow users to generate more human-like text. I’ve also seen campaign cheaters in the forum who seem to intentionally add misspellings and wrong punctuations to try and bypass detectors.

It will depend on each individual case. Usually, content that is written with assistance from Grammarly will not raise the same red flags as something that is almost entirely written with ChatGPT.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lately I've been thinking about this a lot. on: April 05, 2024, 06:25:17 AM
Many decades ago, mafia families used to have a lot of control over boxing. There are even allegations that Muhammad Ali won the heavyweight title against Sonny Liston in a fixed match. The Wikipedia article on this rivalry is fascinating to read. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Ali_vs._Sonny_Liston

It is entirely possible that fixed fights are still happening today. Most top UFC fighters are not likely to throw a fight because it would ruin their career, but an undercard fighter who knows they won’t ever become champion could probably get away with acting like they are hurt to force a stoppage.

Exhibition fights like Tyson vs. Paul, I almost expect them to be rigged. These fights are unregulated and there is no obligation for them to have a fair fight. You are taking a risk if you are gambling on these fights. Jake Paul, an NFT scammer, is the exact type of person who would resort to doing something shady for the sake of profit.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Subriel Matias VS Liam Paro IBF Super Lightweight June 15th Manati, Puerto Rico. on: April 05, 2024, 05:39:31 AM
Matias isn’t undefeated but he has already avenged his only loss and still has that impressive 100% win by KO ratio. Puerto Rico was once a hotbed of boxing but since Miguel Cotto retired, the island has been searching for the next great champion. Matias is in a division where if he can beat the other champions he will become a big star.

We’ve seen recently that fighters from Australia, such as Tim Tszyu, Kambosos, and the Moloney brothers, are always very durable and tough to beat. I expect Paro to win some rounds but his success will be limited. Matias’ power will just be too much and will eventually break him.
96  Other / Meta / Re: AI generated content by newbies on: April 05, 2024, 04:50:15 AM
It is now gone but the post and its replies can still be seen here. Some of the people responding to that thread are also accused of being AI spammers, such as Blitzboy. I happen to agree with those accusations against him since it is clear his reply was created artificially.

The best thing to do is report the post but with some signature campaigns incentivizing AI spam, we will continue to have people creating accounts to farm merit by creating low quality content and other spammers amplifying their posts. The amount of reported content might be overwhelming that it might take a while before it is handled by moderators.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Number of new memecoin traders hits record high on: April 05, 2024, 04:21:41 AM
Now that the Ordinals and BRC-20 hype has quieted down, people are moving on to memecoins. Like many of these past trends I expect meme tokens to be a temporary fad. The coins that were launched in the previous bull cycle have mostly disappeared or drastically fallen in price.

The media will give a lot of attention to the few cases where traders earned millions from really small investments, but we don’t always get many details into the circumstances that led to that profit. It’s possible many of these situations could just be organized pump and dump scams where the price was artificially inflated to draw investors before whales with insider information dumped on them.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone here ever visited El Salvador and tried paying with bitcoin there? on: April 04, 2024, 07:05:58 AM
Bitcoin in El Salvador is mostly popular with tourists who specifically travel there to try and experience real world adoption. Amongst the general population it has not really caught on. If you meet somebody from El Salvador, the subject of Bitcoin will not come up because there is not much interest there. For the merchants who embraced it and are knowledgable in how Bitcoin works, I am sure they are thriving, but overall, adoption is very slow.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Elon Must not tweeting about any crypto coin on his twitter now ? on: April 04, 2024, 06:09:30 AM
With Elon-pumped shitcoins like CumRocket being down 95% from their all-time high, i would assume that it’s probably not a very comfortable subject for him to discuss. Elon is not a great source of financial advice when it comes to investing in cryptocurrencies. Anybody who is smart will just stay with Bitcoin and ignore what Musk says. Maybe when he launches his much hyped payment app, he’ll talk about it again. Hopefully, it will be free of shitcoins but he’s too much of a reckless troll that I at least expect Dogecoin to be integrated.
100  Other / Meta / Re: Can Grin become a payment method again? on: April 04, 2024, 04:31:25 AM
I couldn’t find any up to date information on Grin daily transactions but based on its trading volume and past transaction data it seems hardly anyone is using it. If most blocks are nearly empty then there isn’t much of an anonymity set for users to hide amongst. Just because it has good tech doesn’t mean that every niche altcoin should be accepted in the forum. If you really must use it then you can look for a swap service with Grin to BTC exchanges, although I’m not sure if any reputable ones exist.
