901  Economy / Gambling / Re: What other gambling sites offers free bitcoins like freebitco on: July 05, 2023, 03:32:57 AM
Faucets are just waste of time for me. Like on Freebitco, earning just 7 sat ($0.0217 if bitcoin is $31000) every hour is a waste of time.

You missed a zero. It's $0.002 per hour so yeah it is a waste of time if your goal is to earn a meaningful income from the faucet alone. There are many other feature though which is why they are able to maintain such a large user base. For me it's almost no effort at all to keep a tab open in the background and every now and then collect a few sats while I passively earn lottery tickets, reward points, and interest on my balance. The possibility of winning something big like a lambo or a weekly lottery is what keeps me coming back to this site each day.
902  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Tornado cash and others mixers on: July 05, 2023, 02:37:34 AM
Tornado cash was based in the Netherlands. Chipmixer was based in Vietnam. Both of these countries will comply with whatever the United States wants them to do. Both of these mixers were used by North Korean hackers so they had a big target on their back from U.S. law enforcement. The U.S. was not going to allow these mixers to provide their service to a country that they see as an enemy, allowing them to bypass their sanctions.
903  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for July on: July 05, 2023, 02:06:11 AM
It is impossible to accurately forecast the price of Bitcoin using charts data alone. There was some well-known bitcoiners who were preaching the stock-to-flow gospel and were so confident that Bitcoin would go up hundreds of thousands of dollars only to end up looking foolish when the market crashed. People can look at charts and see what they want to see but any random person would be just as likely to predict the future price as long as they have a decent understanding of Bitcoin.

My sentiment is that the price will remain sideways. Bitcoin has already gone up a lot this year so it would take some really massive news event to continue pushing it's momentum much higher.
904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transfers between Wasabi and (for example) Coinbase still possible? on: July 04, 2023, 07:17:14 PM
How did that happen? Does Coinbase have a minimum withdrawal amount or similar? What's the withdrawal fee you had to pay for this?
"Yes, but the minimum is small to ensure you always have access to your funds. These minimums fluctuate with exchange rates, but are generally under $0.10."[1]
The fees could add up and take the amount over $1.

This does not account for the fact that there is no proof of the transaction, it should show up in the transaction history.

You are quoting the Coinbase Commerce section of their Help site, which only applies to merchants. They have a non-custodial version of Coinbase Commerce so the minimum withdrawal on this service would be whatever is the minimum amount you can send on the Bitcoin network which is usually a few cents. As far as their exchange goes I no longer have an account there but the minimum withdrawal is certainly more than $1. I believe it used to be 0.005 BTC a few years ago.
905  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: July 04, 2023, 03:20:12 AM
Today the price of FUN tokens has increased by about 33%, this is a fairly large increase and almost rarely happens, in USD value FUN is worth $ 0.00685. The graphic shows that it touched a price higher than that price and in satoshi value the current selling price is 20 Satoshi. those who have accumulated FUN tokens when the price was around 15 satoshi and those who have not locked it for a long time will probably sell their investment because it is very tempting but those who are still in locking mode should be patient and hope that it will continue to rise, the current increase in price may not last long and will come back down, but I hope that at least the price can touch $0.01, and I think that price is quite realistic compared to waiting for the price to reach $0.05 or $0.1.
Great profit opportunity for those who bought FUN recently. The recent spike in price must be related to the bullish trend in crypto market in general. Many cryptocurrencies are showing positive fluctuations today. The interesting here is that even against BTC the FUN token is showing superior results. However, a sudden 38% rise (on the currently moment this post is being written) must be taken with a grain of salt, because it smells like market manipulation, so the same way prices go up, they also go down. If I were one of the recent FUN investors I would be selling my holdings and exchanging everything into BTC right now...

Small cap currencies with low trading volume tend to have more dramatic price swings. Considering how much Bitcoin has gained recently and how other altcoins are performing I would consider this pump to be normal. The FUN/BTC price is back to where it was 5 weeks ago so it is not that crazy of a pump, it just looks so dramatic because of how far it had fallen. I expect it to come back down, probably significantly, but in the meantime it is a great opportunity for recouping losses.
906  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Belarus wants to ban bitcoin P2P transactions on: July 04, 2023, 02:33:29 AM
Belarus is under heavy sanctions due to their support of Russia in their war with Ukraine. Many people in Belarus will want to find alternatives to circumvent sanctions and that would weaken the belarusian rouble. Saying that it is about preventing illicit activity is not really credible because criminals prefer to use fiat but politicians use that excuse all the time when they want to hinder Bitcoin adoption.
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gary Gensler's SEC sues Crypto Influncers and posts on his Twitter as propaganda on: July 04, 2023, 01:40:01 AM
why hasnt the SEC gone after all the BSV influencers
They will not ever come to BSV influencers because BSV is not a security  Grin and besides that, the BSV is the original of Bitcoin the satoshi vision they will not ever get chase by the government  Grin

BSV is a fork of Bcash. It is not, nor will it ever be the original Bitcoin. I didn't even know there was such a thing as BSV influencers. Who is there to influence? Only idiots would fall for this scam fork. It is not a security because it has lost so much value that no reasonable person should expect to make a profit from investing in this joke coin. There are much bigger scams for the SEC to worry about and collect bigger fines from.
908  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com Disabled Account After $250K WIN on: July 04, 2023, 12:57:21 AM
From my viewpoint it looks like a classic he said, they said situation so I cannot conclude through the emails you posted alone that there has been any wrongdoing from either party. I would like to see a response from Stake. I would like for them to specify what the irregularities were that caused them to freeze your account.
909  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which will be best non-KYC exchanger after Ku-coin? on: July 03, 2023, 03:46:18 AM
There are several peer-to-peer options available but most of them suffer from a lack of liquidity. As far as centralized exchanges go the ones that could be considered as having an excellent reputation are very few and there is no certainty wether they will continue to accept unverified customers. Every single centralized exchange I've used eventually made KYC mandatory.
910  Economy / Gambling / Re: Freebitco.in - FUN Token Investment Experiment on: July 03, 2023, 02:55:50 AM
Before 6 month I invest 462500 satoshi in fun token and today worth 166500 satoshi , not bad investment  Cheesy , token are locked 2 more month. Till now it will probably worth 50 000 satoshi  Grin. Another word I lose all I invest.

Well fluctuations are meant to happen and if you invest money all at once then it’s gonna be disastrous for sure. One should be doing DCA all the time when in the world of crypto currency. This applies to the FUN investment as well. Though freebitcoin has got freebies for us it doesn’t mean you should go all in. I think you will need to either kee holding the FUN further than that two months period. Get as many WOF as you could and then try to grab more sats out of it. This may not guarantee you High profitability but it shall bring you close to your ROI.

I've applied the DCA strategy to my own investments since originally investing around 0.01 BTC. Unfortunately, this token has been in constant decline for over 2 years now. Despite having twice the amount of tokens today my investment is now worth 0.003 BTC. I've considered just cutting my losses and selling my tokens but the premium benefits are still worth it enough to keep holding for a while. I'm hoping for a random pump like Litecoin and Bcash have had in recent days. It can happen but 100 sats per token seems like a miniscule possibility.
911  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: July 03, 2023, 01:24:11 AM
This particular site looks like it is being run by a casino and in order to claim your prize you have to be a member of this casino. It is just a promotion to attract players to do some real gambling. It is not a bad concept but I wonder if the prize money is worth it and if they will put up some obstacles that make it really difficult to actually withdraw your prize. Casino giveaways often come with burdensome requirements such as having to wager a certain amount before you can withdraw a bonus.
912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: July 01, 2023, 06:37:24 PM
Hmm, it's getting weird though, but there are reports that it will not be Jermall Charlo the 160 lbs champion and who is inactive, but his twin brother, Jermell Charlo, the reigning undisputed 154 lbs who is supposed to fight Tim Tszyu who is now going to face Canelo Alvarez at 168 lbs Sept 30th.

This is now a very interesting plot and for sure there will be haters and gonna say that Jermell duck Tim, hehehe.

Canelo himself confirmed it on his social media. It will be the smaller Charlo brother who will be moving up two weight classes to face Canelo.
https://twitter.com/Canelo/status/1674888423650492417

I don't think Charlo is ducking Tszyu. He is obviously going to make a lot more money against Canelo so it would be stupid to turn down that opportunity. I do however see this as more evidence that Canelo is ducking Benavidez. If Jermall wasn't ready then there was no reason to bring up a fighter from two weight classes below. If Canelo wins then he will move on to the other Charlo so we will probably have to wait at least a year for a possible fight with Benavidez and that's only if Canelo doesn't end up cherry picking another smaller, older, or inactive fighter to further avoid that fight.
913  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Looking for SPV wallet which lets me verify blocks myself (e.g. BIP-157) on: June 30, 2023, 10:21:18 PM
On mobile there is Breez Wallet an Blixt Wallet which use BIP157 and Neutrino for client-side block filtering. They will use more storage than a normal light wallet but it is still a fraction compared to running a full node.
914  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 29, 2023, 10:01:08 PM
This forum existed before web3 was even a thing. web3 login isn't a feature most bitcoiners are interested in so it might not be worth the cost of redesigning this forum to adopt these features. There would also be privacy concerns. A wallet which has access to your xpub would be able to tie your transaction history with your identity on this forum.

Web3 login is not what is possible yet for bitcoin wallets, there is no bitcoin wallet using web3 for bitcoin because web3 is not in bitcoin protocol and likely will not be there.

Web 3 has been possible for several years already. Most lightning wallets support web3 features. Bitrefill is one of several sites which allows you to create an account using your lightning wallet.

915  Other / Archival / Re: WasabiWallet.io | Open-source, non-custodial Bitcoin Wallet for desktop on: June 27, 2023, 08:41:00 PM
So if the third party coordinators are not publicly accessible, how is the average Joe going to use them? It would also be trivial for Wasabi to answer this question - just pull every Wasabi coinjoin from the blockchain, and then subtract their own ones. The fact that they don't tells you everything you need to know.

He can't tout "Use a third party coordinator" as the ultimately solution for every problem Wasabi has, when he knows fine well there are very few third party coordinators and the ones that exist have almost no volume.

And none of that does anything to solve the rampant address reuse, some coinjoin participants receiving zero privacy, or Wasabi grinding outputs in to dust as has been discussed elsewhere.

Wasabi Wallet has worked fine for 99.9% of average joes, hence the lack of demand for alternative coordinators. That's not really on them if there's no alternatives or there's not enough volume. The solution is there, people just have to be willing to build it.

You would probably get a lot of false positives if you are relying on blockchain analysis to determine what is or isn't a WabiSabi transaction. Because WabiSabi allows mixing arbitrary amounts then a lot of muli-input transactions paying multiple addresses could be misidentified as being CoinJoins.

The address reuse issue has been discussed extensively since 2019. It's not that hard to go on Github, social media, and blog posts to see what was causing the issue and what measures were taken to prevent this from happening. Not every instance of user error or misuse can be prevented but I have not heard of this still being an issue besides a claim from a Samourai-ran twitter account where it actually turned out it wasn't a Wasabi coinjoin.

The grinding to dust accusation is not really something I had heard about so I haven't looked into what it's all about. The claim seems to be coming from Samourai so I would take it with a grain of salt since they are known to lie and exaggerate.

It only takes zero clicks to have your coins coinjoined with JoinMarket with various takers, as the software automatically switches to another taker in case one denies to have you in your round.

JoinMarket is great and a viable alternative to Wasabi. It actually has more volume than Wasabi and Whirlpool combined according to the most recent publicly available statistics that I could find. Using JoinMarket alone isn't enough to give you perfect privacy. There are several theoretical attacks which could happen on JoinMarket as well. According to their developer:

Joinmarket has never been something you can use in a simple way and expect defence against active attackers.
916  Other / Archival / Re: WasabiWallet.io | Open-source, non-custodial Bitcoin Wallet for desktop on: June 27, 2023, 06:39:03 AM
He never did answer the question about how much volume there is on third party coordinators. I wonder why... Roll Eyes

Maybe because it's being offered by a third party. It's none of their business how much volume there is on third party coordinators. Anybody could be running a private coordinator that isn't advertised publicly and Wasabi would have no idea how much volume there is because they are not involved in any way. Volume isn't even what matters the most. You can still have a large anonymity set with a smaller amount of BTC. Wasabi could be mixing 1,000,000 BTC per day and a third party could be mixing 10 BTC per day but if Wasabi's 1,000,000 BTC belongs to only 5 whales then they will not be getting such great privacy.

Let's not forget that the option to change coordinator was hidden (even non-existing in GUI, from what I recall), at least when they transitioned from Wasabi 1.x to 2.x.

It only takes two clicks to access the config file. If there was an alternative coordinator you wanted to use it would only take a few seconds of effort to switch from the default one.
917  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: June 26, 2023, 10:58:57 PM

How about other members? Have you guys used your multiplier bonus and were successful to wager the 25x amount? I am also hesitating to use it over and over again because we have to spend equal amounts from our wallets too. That should be changed soon.  Tongue

I met the wagering requirements once but I think at the end my balance was still lower than what I initially had to deposit in order to claim the bonus. I didn't make a profit but at least it mitigated my losses to some extent.

Maybe now we are still in a crypto winter for most altcoins including FUN token but most likely they will come out of this crypto winter as they have always done during all the bull runs that we have witnessed so far,so I expect the same to happen in the next bull run,so we should not worry much about FUN and forget about them until the next bull run.

Maybe there's a good reason why it's still winter for many altcoins despite BTC nearly doubling in price since the start of the year. Reasons such as a lack of utility, bad tokenomics, regulatory uncertainty. Not all these reasons may apply to FUN but a loss in value of 35% in 2023 alone is significant and a lot more than waiting for a bull run is needed to make this an attractive investment.

919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 40 Twitch accounts for gambling advertising on: June 24, 2023, 08:29:26 PM
Social media and streaming platforms are very effective for advertising casinos. Stake has become one of the most recognizable online casinos ever since some of the biggest Twitch channels started promoting them. They have also had some well known celebrities with large followings as their brand ambassadors.
920  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BitDice Robbed Investors? CSNO lost 80% value on: June 23, 2023, 08:07:46 PM

Made an assumption, sure. They had not done anything irrevocable until they actually started scamming users. Up until I left, they made me promises that things would be turning around. Concrete things that gave some reason to believe that were things like them hiring new developers.

It seems clear to me that I will not be able to convince people that my genuine purpose at BitDice was to help players and investors with what I could.

May I add some discussions I've had with Alan regarding my concerns about addressing investors. I hope this atleast proves that I was actively trying to make sure that investors would be addressed. Keep in mind that it often took months until something concrete was done but oftentimes they did do what they promised eventually. So I was not expecting anything immediate. And a while after these questions, I was out of BitDice anyway.

As you can see, I asked for updates, then I followed up on them but I was being dragged on like everyone else.

And additionally, some talk about hiring developers:

A bunch of vague promises and kicking the can down the road are textbook examples of rugpull behavior. Even if it was a minor role you played, going along with their BS for 2 years makes you complicit in their scam.
