4667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: June 20, 2014, 12:38:10 PM
Looking back having read these threads and patiently followed for some good coins.

I avoided the pump and dumps and tried to focus on potential, largely the advice of most people.

University coin - Looked good, good purpose, target market etc. - Invested in this one to hold - Scam dev dumped the coin down to nothing FS

Sharecoin - Looked promissing, working developer, exchange with long term potential - Invested in this one - Scam dev ran away with coins

Freebs - Initialy free a fun coin for a bit of day trading/hodling -  invested in a few extra mil - Lost 1 mil on Share scam + dev no longer interested

So FFS I may have been better with just the pump and dumps, nothing to show for my few bitcoins of investments except a few lessons in what not to do.

Phil

Dev has dumped his coins on this one so lets make a new one so he can dump that before we make it work as well.

Closed bids is a scammy way for sellers to get more out of the buyers.

Happens a lot in the housing market. Peeking at bids and whispering advice to someone all that kind of thing. If you were to bid x Im _sure_ you would get it Wink

Not sharing the results and bids after doesnt fill you with confidence on the transparency front.

Industrial scale 3d printing is already a reality with the likes of metal subframes and stuff.

The consumer stuff is a bit more "fun" but they have to sell units.

I think the printing of foods or proteins sounds interesting.

very true, its the vulnerability of it all, seems hackers just keep finding ways to steal other peoples coins or get coins they didn't earn or pay for lol amazing

this is my point, and if coins shoot up to thousands of dollars it is only going to be more attractive to steal/cheat them than to earn/trade/mine them.

Plus how many scammers got busted so far? I see a lot of scams have happened.

compared with other crime it seems practicaly risk free with greater potential gains too.

This could undermine the protocol, despite the fact its not directly protocol related. Credibility is important

I don't think it's mostly true, because even though the per item cost may be less for injection molded plastic items, the consumer had to go out to get them - add driving time and so forth, the part is then much more expensive than if it had just been made in the garage.

Fair enough, but not everyone has a 3d printer in their garage, knowledge of how to operate one, inclination to go through the trouble of learning, or in most cases, even awareness of its existence. We still have a long way to go before this technology is widely used, unfortunately.

These people wouldnt find it easier to make something with injected moulding either. the overhead would be much more than having something made by a 3d print company for a low volume/one off item

Yes but they deal in the impossible today. So maybe one day circuits then BOOM technology explosion.

They are looking at if you could print out the parts to make a moon base, using the raw materials of the moon dust.

3d printing is also very exciting for long space missions where you cant take a spare everything.

I wonder if someone will breakthrough and make 3d printable circuits to print into the output models and make them even more functional.
