i dont believe you,the reality is very different from what you say, this game too much fraud

Started of great as a game with actual players.  Then suddenly there was about 1 million bots and it was pretty much ruined as a game in my opinion.

Big shame I loved the idea to game for coins.

Well who the hell has so many moneros that they are willing to loan them out for tiny fractions of a percent on the exchanges?  I mean what is the point...to acquire even more on the cheap?

3844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 07, 2017, 09:42:04 PM
Actually he was an advocate of buy the dips and sell the highs. Then rinse and repeat.

I have always been too scared after a bit of a big loss when it never came back.

3845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 07, 2017, 04:28:09 PM
I am out of Bitcoin since 7400, which has proven timely on a short-term scale.  Probably, however, it is premature to conclude the pre-futures, pre-s2x ramp is over.  It also seems too soon to really price-in XMR multisig.  The current ratio feels more like a foreshadowing of the future 3 weeks out than it is like a correction.

A pullback has looked/felt likely for a while. Yet on up it has marched.

6000 is the target in another analysis thread I'm following. I wonder what will happen to the relative Monero price

Bulletproofs: Efficient Range Proofs for Confidential Transactions

http://web.stanford.edu/~buenz/pubs/bulletproofs.pdf

Bulletproofs could at least halve the size of Monero transaction.

I know this is just a research and even if is by any chance 100% correct will not be added to Monero for at least a year. But what is important is that it exist, and I am sure there will be tens or hundred similar in the future. And each of them will reduce transaction size and with that reduce Monero blockchain growth. Monero blockchain growth is one of biggest worries people have when think what would today happen if Monero would have same amount of transactions as Bitcoin does.

If only they compared like for like.

If you had a secure bitcoin version the transactions would need to be bigger too.

Countach
Ok, that seems to be a reasonable default. I like the style, could never fit in the thing.

However since classic cars are variable, maybe a new Hurican could be a better solid benchmark. And then we can all show up at a dealership at the same time and buy every one in the state.

Because we CAN!

Still, I'm more of a Porsche man myself, but if I ever get to the point of having a driver I'd probably go for a Maybach. Had a friend who was homeless for awhile and had to live in his Maybach, still nicer than my house....

A HTOL should do for popping down the shops in. Versatile for parking.   Cheesy

And let's not argue why PoS is a security nightmare.

Whaaat? This is news to me. I would very much like to argue about this.

I don't mind a debate. I was only trying to avoid sparking further off-topic discussion from my already off-topic post.

Even if proof of stake could work, I'd still question the incentives of anyone who insists on using it in their project. It's essentially a system where the rich become richer with zero risk or opportunity cost. Sounds productive. What a coincidence all the scams in the space are falling all over themselves to support it.

As far as the technical challenges with proof of stake, these papers are pretty enlightening:
https://download.wpsoftware.net/bitcoin/pos.pdf
http://bitfury.com/content/5-white-papers-research/pos-vs-pow-1.0.2.pdf

And as the rich get richer its more vulnerable to a 51% attack. I seem to remember on the older iplementations of POS I also heard you only needed to have ever owned each of the 51% of the coins at some time to do a 51% attack

And why did you answer the question I asked aminorex?

I do that all the time. Is it taboo? Huh Lips sealed

I don't think so, we are a community of friends who all help out. Nothing wrong with that.

3856  Other / Meta / Re: Email security notifications on: November 02, 2017, 05:26:44 PM
I noticed this news only now. It's great, I hope it will help to reduce number of hacked accounts. From what I saw, amount of hacked accounts big in recent months. Important thing - don't use same password on Bitcointalk and email
P.S. As I understand, administrator (theymos and Cyrus) have ability to change user email address? Why they may need to it?

For an example. What if some one loses their password but no longer has use of that old inbox to reset the password. But luckily they can prove they can sign a message from an associated BTC address.  "I am Darren at BCT Forum-07860986060869#"

There must be a mechanism for an Admin to achieve such changes. When they deem appropriate, admin is a responsible role.

All I know for sure is, over the last few years, GLD has been the single worst performing asset in my portfolio.

Even Mooncoin probably did better than Gold. It seems utterly dead.

haha not, I might even have some moon coins somewhere   Cheesy

MoneroForCash.com has been redesigned and updated

Hello Monerians - I'm the admin for MoneroForCash.com. MoneroForCash has been serving the Monero community since August of 2016. Although the site enabled buyers and sellers to trade Monero for cash, Money Orders, gift cards, etc., the site had a dated appearance and limited features.

Reddit user /u/tficharmers (https://www.reddit.com/user/tficharmers) has graciously designed and donated an updated user interface for the site, and like before, no JavaScript is used, nor are traceable Ads or analytics. It's responsive and looks as good on your mobile as it does on your laptop.

In addition to the updated design, the site now lets you set your Monero/fiat exchange rate to your desired fiat currency, and we also have added the ability to rate trades.

And, as before, user funds are never stored on our site so it's impossible for us to steal your funds. Even if our site is hacked, your funds are safe since all trading is peer-to-peer. Additionally, we can't absolutely determine that you and another party completed a trade as a result of advertising on our site because we're not privy to any transaction details between users.

Check out our new site, and buy/sell Monero for cash or other assets.

https://moneroForCash.com

Very nice looking site, too bad Us gov is tracking down sellers, I.E Localbitcoins. I doubt it won't be long before we see the same on the Monero side as well.

What are they doing? arranging false meetings ?
3859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 01, 2017, 08:45:38 PM
This is getting ugly, I have to consider dumping my stash. Fuck that.

Welp, if you allow to be squeezed out of crypto you will be. We all gotta live with our choices.

Well its not like im loosing something  Wink

If only we loost you, walonek/doc12, you big looser  Wink

Sry detective you are wrong. I dont like his fudding either.

But if Bitcoin goes five digits i dont want to sit in a sinking boat. And this boat will be sinking, as long as bitcoin goes to the fucking Jupiter.

I suppose a significant pullback has felt overdue for many in BTC its hard to decide when you have missed the train and when is just buying at the top. Its all only knowable after the fact.  Undecided

3860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 01, 2017, 08:42:17 PM
I think Moreno's price will rise again to the level of 200 dollar very soon. It has risen to the level of 160 dollar before, and we can see the same levels again. It just needs some time.

You think or you DID any analysis ? I think it should bounce upto 1000 USD by tomorrow morning. What do you think about my thoughts?

60 USD in the RANGE! 0.013 broken! Direction 0.01 in short.

You are a bit of a dick if you think market analysis mean anything alone. Past performance is not an indicator of future performance.

Ok for identifying a trend, and I don't dispute there are slices of the data right now that make monero look bad.

An indicator is an indicator until it isn't. Yeah MA rocks. Woo.

But that is to ignore the ongoing external forces and influences, they don't reoccur to the pattern. Such as the key proponents of security frequently referring to monero as the only true secure coin. or the main potential coin.

In at about .004/5 so no need to chase. I know also shit happens. So be it.
