I think it proves a point its all a crock of shit at the moment.

Lets hope there can be some actual good competition later on.

Glad I didnt get around to it in the end. Due to lack of confidence in things.

Rubbish.

*edit* yeah Athletico killed my acca the last 2 times I put them in. they are half the reason I held back on it tonight.
3863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 31, 2017, 10:06:42 PM
I think the multi sig unlocks another sets of markets and the representative increase in overall volume that will bring.

3864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 31, 2017, 05:00:27 PM
More like no premine to pump the coin with like the other scam crap.

3865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: October 31, 2017, 04:58:32 PM
I'm scared mummy, Athleticos ruined me before gonna leave them out at least.

Celtic, oo err I think they are plucky. Always good odds.

PSG Rating them but need to get it together.

Man Utd not consistent, sometimes smashing it other times so so bad.

Hard to call most of these    :/

Monero is more anonymous coins as I know? Or Dash coin more anonymous? Which one better?

1 a secure coin with good reputation vs 2. a horrid coin with a massive pre mine (money stolen from you if you buy it) Renamed a few times to refresh its image, however see first point.

Oh yeah, look at the thread name and guess coin 1 or 2.

/G.
3867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: October 31, 2017, 03:16:04 PM
I don't think Monero needs promotion on the forum because real players know Monero is most promising coin. It is real no.2 by all the features and support after Bitcoin and good thing is the evolutionary progress is going on. We will see good things happening with the passage of time.

Its the Top 10 coins in Coinmarketcap for long time..
would just like to know whats the use case of coin apart from anonymous transfer?

Let  me try, anyone correct away or add (welcomed).....

Fungibility, no coin is special. They are all the same and cant be marked or tainted. No coin has a history of ownership, only the now. Which mitigates a big potential issue for say formerly stolen coins being reclaimed from an innocent person later.

Anon one but, no link between the buying of things or their sources, eg stock for your web store. And the coin you're receiving in payment for selling said items. Not a way to find the persons supplier and go direct.

Not a use case but its different tech to bitcoin, worth considering that a lot of coins are just bitcoin clones.  a big event could take a lot of them down, you never know. It might be a bit of a tech hedge.

A lot of development effort and more coming. Like multi sig support will add even more utility allowing for a 3 party escrow transaction. That will further support wider usage in real world scenarios.

3868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 31, 2017, 01:40:45 PM

This is totally awesome. I just wish you could take it to the bank.

Still one day I hope we will be rewarded for our faith and support.

Ripple, Vertcoin and even Doge have larger communities than Monero! ouch.

Not sure why they even use facebook as a metric for monero, a privacy coin shouldn't have a strong facebook presence.

What's paragon coin? They have a ton of likes. Also, vertcoin's stats don't match their rank, though that could be because of an unlisted metric.

Paragon coin is a shitty ico erc20 coin that advertises incessantly on Facebook and Twitter, which makes it obvious why they have a strong presence there. If you actually look at the comments they get many of them are like "fuck off scammers", but they probably still count as a net positive on gecko rankings since I don't they have any ai to determine positive and negative responses.

We were playing with an AI like this at work the other day. Someone wrote a detector that decides if tweets are happy or angry. It was scarily accurate. We also messed about with  facial recognition thing. Again very good at picking out an identity.

The future is really here. an the tools and services are rippling down to real developers. So much innovation potential. And at the same time we move closer to 1984 the further we get past it.

3869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 29, 2017, 10:32:37 PM
Personally, I think s2x will be the longest chain, because BTC hash rate will be inadequate to keep up.  According to Satoshi, that makes s2x the true chain.  Once the chains diverge enough, and before the deluge, it will be time to dump BTC classic.  And yes, I will roll gains into XMR, of course.

Its getting totally confusing.

Its hard to keep your eye on the pea under the cup

*Unless a change in POW helps to equalize mining power by making costs harder to scale.
...Your apparent belief that a change in PoW will make any difference in centralization is unpersuasive. No matter the technology, mining power will coalesce to those that possess the financial resources, the BizOps acumen, and most importantly the persistence and pain tolerance needed for entrepreneurship on a grand scale.

I don't believe this is true. If somehow PoW can be tied to a smartphone for "one phone one vote", those who have financial resources can screw themselves against the brute force of several billion smartphone users.

Just No. Those that have the resources will run hundreds of android emulator VMs on each of hundreds of servers, and we'll be right back with the same centralization problem we have today.
We won't, if we switch to to a RAM and RAM-access intensive PoW algo. Let them try to emulate terabytes of RAM in a time efficient way. No eh? Just as I thought.

there is some really ASIC-resistant PoW, used by Vertcoin and maybe others. If the PoW has to be changed I'd like that to bring back the VGAs.

Or ideally a regular change (2 yr?) is baked in so its a regular reset.

How about that? limit the return for custom hardware

If it would be profitable they wouldn't need to waste time selling it to you for less profit.

Just on some random internet site.

The stealth Monero miner tripped my virus software that it was a threat.

I guess that loophole is closed down now except for old and unprotected machines.
3875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 26, 2017, 07:45:43 PM
I have done a long, deep and intensive research over days and weeks just in case to diversify a small part of my investments into potential interesting projects/coins. Beside ETH (which wont make any really big gains any more) and XMR I only could find IOTA interesting, while still very experimental. Everything else is damn useless bullshit I would never put a cent in. Even BTC is a bad joke from fork to fork it is becoming just an expensive, overvalued and slow altcoin with no special features.

Simply happy to be invested in XMR.

But the everything else have armies of disgruntles soldiers

All the best bud.

I think its a general problem of our "always on", 24hrs, Internet based society.

Lots of people who cant switch off.

I like the advices, take a walk and breathe some fresh air.

But, don't be a stranger.

Hey Guys:

I'm posting this today just in case it's helpful to anyone else... odd as it may seem, in this day and age of everything being constantly 'online' I feel like some of y'all here are actually "friends", even though none of us have ever met, LOL.

*crop for your eyes*

OMG this crap isn't even an XMR clone, fucking ETH token with ICO. This is so lame it gives shitcoins a bad name...

Right I have reported the post as a potential fraud. Don't want people losing money in the name of Monero
3879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: October 26, 2017, 03:53:13 PM
MONERO CLASSIC IS JUST LIKE MONERO COIN AND IT IS ANOTHER DIGITAL CURRENCY ON ETHEREUM BLOCK CHAIN FOR FAST TRASNACTIONS

OMG its the same as the forum scammers, cant Theymos just put a stop to outright lies?

I saw a post where he wished they had to get a certificate of authenticity and a level of background check before starting up these things..

Using another coins name is total BS.

Its like the name attack I now see on BTC itself. Just everyone release a BTCX or Y confuse as many people as possible and any mistake makers lose their shirt. Coin gets bad name job done.

just fs.

IT IS ANOTHER DIGITAL CURRENCY ON ETHEREUM BLOCK CHAIN FOR FAST TRASNACTIONS. WE WANT TO MAKE MONERO A DIGITAL CURRENCY JUST LIKE FIAT CURRENCIES TO BE PAID AT TIME OF CHECKOUT

Now he gives up and just outright calls his project Monero ?   but ooo shopping, OK that could be useful?

FOR EXAMPLE IF YOUR TOTAL BILL IS AROUND 100 USD AND 1 MONERO CLASSIC IS ALSO EQUAL TO 100 USD THEN YOU WOULD ONLY NEED TO PAY 1 MONERO CLASSIC.

Wait what? is that just a maths example? or does it not work for anything costing more ore less than 100$ units ?

MONERO CLASSIC CAN BE USED FOR TO PAY UTILITY BILLS, PAY FOR GARMENTS AND GROCERY, PAY FOR HOSTING & DOMAIN PURCHASE (JUST LIKE BITCOIN) OR PAY FOR HOSPITAL, UNIVERISTY OR SCHOOL BILLS OR FOR BILLS EQUAL TO USD

I noticed that if Tottenham finishes 2nd and that is more likely where they will be finishing in group stages is that they will only get to face Barcelona or PSG or Beşiktaş if the other premier league teams continue and finishing at top of each table for City and United is clear that they will end up at top  Chelsea and Liverpool possibly if they continue on winning Liverpool is doubtful because we all know that they can slip at any time while Chelsea is somehow more confident and still have better chances. It be more interesting after the next round things will be much more clearer to see.
Previously I thought that Chelsea were going to easily qualify for the next stage of the competition, but with their last performance against AS Roma, I have revised my way of thinking. They can qualify though with Atletico Madrid playing so poorly,  Maybe they are at the most risk of not going to the knockout stage of the Champions League.
It looks like Chelsea had some down phase, they played three games without win until today. They won against Watford in Premier League.
This group could turn to be very interesting until the end of the group phase competition. If Roma wins in Rome in next duel(it is possible, they played much better football against Chelsea in London) and ATM wins in Madrid next match against Qarbag, all the three teams would be in pretty good situation to qualify to next round of Champions League. Even if match finishes with draw in Rome and Atletico wins against Qarabag(which is most likely), we will have to wait until the end to see who will go through to knock out phase.

Chelsea still have a pretty open chance to qualify for the last 16, but Atletico Madrid and AS Roma are also still likely to qualify, so this group will be more interesting to watch. For some reason, there is not a club I really like about this group but I am more interested in seeing this group, and I also prefer to see Chelsea and AS Roma who qualify for the last 16.

Chelsea are having their usual shitty little dip. I hope we can get it together before the next matches.
