Also a clean slate would be best but giving the option to hand back mined coins for the new one would be fair. Its only really been 12hrs so not to much for people to worry about and they could continue to mine till the new launch anyway then swap over.

Still means a small pre mine but its a pretty easy one to justify seeing as no-one loses from their current mined coins which means technically the community gets the pre mine and not 1 person, all investors are covered and some new IPO's on a smaller scale.

Open, honest, fair, transparent coin relaunch

Why does the VTC price not keep track of the increase in difficulty? It is getting more and more difficult to mine the coins but that is not reflected in the price. Profitability is half of what it was a week ago.
3863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Block 2600 ETA 19:00 EST on: March 09, 2014, 03:08:06 PM
so is there any point mining this until Block 2600?

seems waste of hash right now

Ill gladly use a CPU to mine out the remaining blocks if all the other miners want to do something else in the meantime  Grin

Another suggestion would be to if you want to accommodate the people that have mined the old coin and stayed loyal, is to allow them to send their old coin rewards to your old coin address by a certain cut-off date before you shut-down the wallet and then they can trade-in the old coins for some of the new or perhaps in a ratio. This will definitely keep the loyal miners loyal to your new coin.

I am all for a re-launch. However, lots of people have expended electricity on the old coin. Having said that it was their own choice to mine while you said you pulled the plug and that is the risk of mining. Despite how much I like to be able to mine easy coins in the beginning, I would recommend that you do something similar than GPUCoin and give low rewards for the first few blocks (but not 2600!) after which the real rewards kick in. This way the tensions will be tempered and problems with setups etc will be ironed out before the real rewards kick in.

Perhaps the dev gave up too quickly? Sometimes the best rewards come with dedication and persistence. So what if the launch had issues. If the coin's characteristics and foundation is sound, then it will be successful in the long term.

As long as there was no 51% attack all else can be sorted.
3867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare on: March 09, 2014, 03:16:51 AM

I'm kulin3422 at your pool.If I can't edit my account,I will quit in 30 minutes.

i'm on it.
you will get your coins

What are they going to do with their coins if they get it? Has the coin not been shut down or is it going ahead?
3868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare on: March 09, 2014, 02:52:24 AM

There were 23 blocks found in the network as per my CG watcher during the time I was connected when the dev posted that he is pulling the plug.

Guys, you can use this conf it works for solo:

daemon=1
server=1
rpcallowip=local (if your miner is local)
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.0.6 (copy this line over blow for each miner)
rpcport=9988
rpcuser=yourusername
rpcpassword=yourpassword
addnode=219.90.245.104
addnode=188.226.154.33
addnode=85.72.83.125

1. Launch goldbar-qt
2. Close it and create a file called goldbar.conf and put the above in it
3. Place the file where your confs must go under roaming\goldbar (Windows - sorry I dont have the Linux path)
4. Restart goldbar-qt
5. Point your miners to the IP address of the PC with the wallet on using the rpc passwords and port above.

This isn't working. Tell me if launch number 3 is going to be tonight or not so I can sleep. Thanks.

It is not. I am up and running.

There are 23 blocks solved so far.
3871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare on: March 09, 2014, 02:20:06 AM
addnode=188.226.154.33
addnode=219.90.158.63
addnode=185.72.83.125
addnode=219.90.245.104

are this nodes ok ?

with them in conf, with them removed and using lel.bat ..
still dead.

Delete the config and just try to use the node 188***** with the lel.bat that should work. If not I will look into it.

We can't solo mine without the conf.

You dont need the conf you can create it yourself.

Guys it is working. Thanks dev.
3873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare Relaunch on: March 09, 2014, 01:55:03 AM
Will we have a chance to download the wallet first before it goes live?
3874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare Relaunch on: March 09, 2014, 01:30:32 AM
Clearing everything up. Yes we had a horrible launch (The links werent working) Yes we have decided to re do links ports conf etc. for 1 hour. Yes they will be available then. Yes we are truly truly sorry this was never meant to happen...

Any chance of letting us download the wallet so long even if it is encrypted as it will take another 30min-1hour to do the download then depending on simultaneous traffic. Alternatively have some mirrors for the wallet to spread the load.
3875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare on: March 09, 2014, 01:21:44 AM
this looks interesting.... nice block reward as well... Wink

so pls... dont screw up the launch like 3/4 of all new coins Wink

Thanks
We have sorted out most things that stuff up many coins on launch. It should be a pretty smooth launch Grin

Links to the new wallet?
3876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare Relaunch on: March 09, 2014, 01:19:37 AM
I see we have 45 minutes. Links to the new wallet? Will probably take that long to download.
3877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare on: March 09, 2014, 01:15:08 AM
Jesus Christ people - Calm down.

For those who can't download the wallet - You're not missing anything.

For those of you calling the dev idiots, shut up. I'm a software engineer, and I know how challenging things can be sometimes. Let him fix whatever needs to be fixed and things will work.

maybe you should shut up ...
all should of been tested pre launch ...
now go play with your pocket protector boy!

During launch there are a few things that can go wrong. The site the source is live on (or being uploaded to if he's smart) could be down or slow. This is the majority of what we're seeing.

If you're no longer interested in the coin, then go ahead and leave it to those of us who are. Not everything goes to plan in life.

At least make sure that the packed wallet has integrity and can decrypt with the password. The wallet is posted in advance to make the playing field equal for all so that you can decrypt paste the configs and go.
3878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare Relaunch on: March 09, 2014, 01:12:15 AM
So where is the countdown for the re-launch in one hour? We need a wallet that works and as you promised for all to have an equal chance at starting to mine while there are still no blocks. In one hour those who obtained the wallet from "other" links than the one posted on this site will have mined all the easy coins. Also take into account that with the rush to get the wallet, the link will be extremely slow and you have to allow everyone to download the wallet first before the "relaunch". Otherwise everyone will cry foul play.
3879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare on: March 09, 2014, 12:58:26 AM
30 fucking minutes late and all the easy blocks have been claimed ... fuck this dev..
late is ok, but not when you see it was being mined .... SCAM!!!!  I will be bashing for weeks!

Where did they get the wallet if we are all struggling?
3880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare on: March 09, 2014, 12:53:35 AM
So much for downloading a wallet upfront for everybody to have an equal chance. The download link is slow slow due to excessive download atempts it says it is going to take 1 hour to download 19.8MB.
