1. Encrypted and closed for staking not connected to the Internet
2. Encrypted and closed for staking but connected to the Internet
3. Encrypted but temporarily opened for staking and by definition connected to the Internet
3. Unencrypted and staking and by definition connected to the Internet

Also:
4. Do you have AV installed and if so which one?
5. Do you have a firewall and have you blocked all unknown apps to the Internet
6. OS that your wallet was kept on.
7. Did you have a strong password and please tell us the complexity of the pwd you had for your wallet eg. 8 char, 1 digit etc.

This looks similar to a man-in-the-browser attack.  The way 2FA is implemented on all the exchanges are not real 2FA it is 1.5FA.  As soon as you enter the code into the SAME channel as your UID and PWD you are susceptible to MITB attack or perhaps it is apt to call it man-in-the-wallet attack. The malware waits for you to enter the codes and as soon as you enter a tx the malware does another tx in the background. Have you upgraded your wallets against Heartbeat? That could be another attack vector.

True 2FA is a challenge that you receive on lets say your mobile phone and if you respond with the same out of band channel you have true 2FA. The 2FA app devs must enhance their products to enable response from the mobile back to the backend of the exchange so that you do not need to enter a code into the website itself. This way a number of attacks can be prevented. They can go one step further to install a cert on your phone via their app and this is tied to your exchange account and also display the tx you want to do in the app. This would also cut out a compromise of your email account as an authentication mechanism.

How do one set that up? My solo is working but only just. I am getting blocks and about 20% accepted and 80% orphaned. Otherwise its OK.

Solo is almost not worth it as there are many many orphan blocks. So many get solved but disappear out of the wallet ie. they dont make it from immature to balance.

Just put conf file in the roaming directory and restart the wallet. Just put your setup details in the conf file with your own network's IP addresses.

Since when do blocks count backward? They end up in immature and then just disappear again. This sucks.

Yes but to download takes a long time for some people and due to higher demand on the server can cause delays. It is not fair. You need to release an encrypted wallet beforehand and only release the password at 21:00. Unless of course you will allow an hour for people with slow connections to download the wallet before you turn the coin on.

I see OP is online. Hopefully he reads these posts and gives us an encrypted wallet download with enough time to download before launch.

OP, you have to give out the wallet in advance but encrypted with a password eg. password protected ZIP file. This gives everyone the opportunity to download the wallet in advance. You then update OP with the password to open at 21:00. If you only post the wallet at 21:00, there will be many people trying to download at once and this will cause the server to be flooded and the wallet will take 40min to 1 hour to download with many unhappy miners. If you are serious about this coin and its launch, upload the encrypted wallet file several hours before the time.
