There is no exchange yet?
There is an exchange but no-one is trading
https://btcpool.exchange/market?pair=KOBO/BTC

Looks dodge. Transfer there at your own risk.

Thank you, that works  Grin

The whole rpc section is only really relevant if you are solo mining to the wallet and sets the parameters to allow a miner to connect to the PC with the wallet on. The addnode is the most important to see the network. If a wallet is properly coded, the addnode addition in a .conf is not necessary.

The Mac wallet doesn't sync and shows 1 connection?? Please is there a conf file

This works:

daemon=1
server=1
listen=1
rpcallowip=local
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=yourname
rpcpassword=yourpassword
rpcport=yourchosenport
addnode=kobo.suprnova.cc

why did I get 0.00 minted the very first staked block I found do I have even to stake I only have 4.4 coins and what do you mean by move the coins? To reset coinage? answer this concept with a better explanation please . I'm a newbie what do you mean by move the coin and reset the coinage?

4.4 coins is a very small number to stake with. You will probably get very little for staking. Try to go to 50 or 100 to make it worthwhile. Moving coins means that when you start to get 0.00 stake, then create another wallet somewhere either on another PC or on an exchange and then send the coins there. When it has confirmed in the other wallet send it back to the first wallet. This resets the coinage. Always send 1 coin as a test to a new address and if it goes through successfully send the rest. Do the same with the return transaction. Remember to add the respective wallet addresses in each other's address books to prevent future costly errors due to typing the address incorrectly.

lol at 7000M on the pools. If that is the type of hash going into this coin for 30 days mining, then the trading price will have to be high to break even. What is cost of mining currently?

ETA on a new working Win wallet?
BOUNTY - 0.4 BTC for a working windows wallet.

What you mean "a working windows wallet"?
If you add
Quote
addnode=kobo.suprnova.cc
it works just fine.

Ok the url address works. It seems Dev gave us the the wrong addnode IP 87.121.52.144. The url resolves to 178.33.126.221
Apologies for that. I was told that it was mainnet.

At least it is working. A few more nodes would help.

Source code uploaded to Github.

Is there an issue with the Win wallet? Do you perhaps have more nodes as my wallet wont sync.

@ocminer here?

No block in the past 10 minutes...

What is the real net hash rate, not the one that the pools are displaying? Maybe the 2000M farm is solo mining on a private pool? Maybe that spike it caused on the pool pushed up the diff too quickly?

EDIT: It seems it is that large farm that is messing with everyone. They join the pool then push up the diff and then go off and then it takes 10 min for the remaining hash to find a block at the higher diff. As soon as they join again a block is found.
2951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KOBO] Kobocoin - A West African peer to peer micropayment system on: February 07, 2015, 08:12:21 AM
Not sure what you guys are looking at. Net hash is really low right now.

Ok, it seems the large 2000M farm has left so things look much better now. Maybe they have split it up, but at least there are no visible >500M farms raping it.

EDIT: But things still dont add up. If Suprnova is the only active pool atm with 600M hash, then why did the pool not get a block in 7 minutes?
2952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KOBO] Kobocoin - A West African peer to peer micropayment system on: February 07, 2015, 08:06:58 AM
dev, re-launch it?????
kobo.suprnova.cc mining everything is normal!

Not necessary for a re-launch. It will make no difference. If it is re-launched, the hash will go to Suprnova again and the large farms will be there again. So rather leave it and take the scraps you can mine with the <100M rigs you can get your hands on.

I don't think the >500M rigs will stay on it too long since it is 30 days and that type of hash for 30 days is not economically sustainable ie. it is a big risk they take There is no strategy for gradual increase in block size it seems, so I think a better strategy is to watch the hash rate and come back in a week or two or whenever they go away.
2953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KOBO] Kobocoin - A West African peer to peer micropayment system on: February 07, 2015, 08:05:18 AM
What are you guys talking about Millions of coins in accounts?  There has only been 123 blocks at 1000 coins or 123,000 coins produced so far.

Not coins, hashrate.
2954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KOBO] Kobocoin - A West African peer to peer micropayment system on: February 07, 2015, 07:57:04 AM
hmmm , 1/3 hour before launch , rental rigs Full argghhhh  Angry

Maybe it is a blessing because with the large farms the rented rigs do not make a dent.
2955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KOBO] Kobocoin - A West African peer to peer micropayment system on: February 07, 2015, 07:50:30 AM
Whats happening? Is it cancelled or not? Pools are up but I see 2 accounts will own all the coins. 800M on the one pool and 900M on the other.

EDIT: Sorry make that 2700M on Suprnova.
Launch is fine, but yes, I'm surprised at the hashrate.

The Xyy algorithms have all been taken over by the big farms. Most of the coin launches will have those large farms mining it for a while and then dump the market dead. Nothing that can be done about it except choice of algorithm.

Good luck with the coin as Africa needs something great and successful.

It is exceptional to see a coin with a long buy side and a short sell side.

Hello I downloaded it but how do I make it sync? It hasn't any connections..do I need to ad a .conf file and also how do I name it/ Please give me instructions asap thanks..  Smiley Smiley

just research this thread and u will find out how 2

but maybe ur router dont support the port..
that was my problem

I am not  a miner or a techy lol I just need some simple instructions as i want to buy some from trex and download to stake..i have a small brain lol please help..I just want 1. the name of the .conf file and 2. what i stick in the file.. i not seen this info in the thread or have i missed anything?

the con file is called

10k

save as all file types 10k.conf

contents

rpcuser=add name
rpcpassword=add password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=whatever u want here
server=1
addnode=98.174.25.33
addnode=23.92.61.98

really its just the nodes u want as most other settings are for solo mining

have fun

Q

and most important of all, put the .conf file in the same directory where your wallet is. Do not put it in the directory where the executable is. On Win it is ...\roaming\10k\10k.conf

cool I did it and it has a little thumbs up in blue, says checkpoint is too old shall I ignore that yes?  I have 8 active nodes now, where do i see how many blocks are downloaded/

There are a few ways. One way is to hover with your mouse directly to the right of the thumbs up. A popup will come up showing the number of blocks. At some point a bar appears at the bottom and you can see in the bar how many blocks are downloaded. You can also click on help at the top and select debug. In the middle you will see the blocks downloaded. Compare that to the total number of blocks mined so far to measure progress. Total blocks as of writing this is 106942.

how many 10K will there ever be , max?

I'm not sure if there is a max number. If not then after several years the number would be beyond reason. Even if it got to one satoshi, but continued to have support there. 500 of these coins would get you over 1000 BTC...theoretically

This question is on many people's minds. However, with widespread adoption the total number of coins is not that big a thing. At some point in future if (when widely adopted) and it does become a huge problem for some reason, it can be sorted then with an adjustment to the staking parameters.

You can ask a similar question - how many fiat dollars are there in total out there in the money supply?

I have left it very easy to modify this later if needed. We can also raise fees, add stake modifiers, or do it a new way. Many options in the future

As far as the max...how high can you count?  Wink

Looking into this with more detail. It's not about how high one can count. having just 1 coin staking as you desire will get to this in 5 years:
8.2634497615169870410629960038999 e+191

If I am wrong I would love for someone to show me, but the numbers will start getting to extreme. Is that what you trying to test?

Edit: 1 coin per block is just too much. To lengthen time on this, 10 '10k-toshis' might be a more feasible block value...again theoretically. But not my coin and I can't complain as I'm doing well.

Many POS coins fail because there is no incentive to keep coins staking and to keep the network secure. This upsets the supply-demand equation by people dumping what they have. 10K is doing a superb job in this space as it is incentivising people to stake. For now all is cool. If it ever becomes a big problem there is a plan B as the dev said.

It is therefore important to get to wide spread adoption before a big problem occurs.
