Who is confirming transactions now with PoW finished? Tried the staking but no indication in the wallet that it is working.

Isn't blackcoin just novacoin relabelled with the parameters tweaked? And whitecoin and the rest.

Well, WC is definitely from Novacoin. Install the WC Mac wallet then it says Novacoin to be installed. Dont know about BC.

And the stupidity keeps going on... YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES BTC WAS PUMPED AND DUMPED YOU FUCKING LOSER

IF WHALES DONT GET RICH NEITHER WILL YOU, WAKE UP PEOPLE WE NEED TO RISE, WE NEED TO SHOW THIS WHITECOIN SHIT PEOPLE AND THIS CINI I DONT KNOW WHAT COIN WHOS IN CHARGE HERE.

WE ARE IN CHARGE HERE, WE RULE, WE COMMAND, WE SUCCEED, YOU WANT YOUR FUCKING PRICE STABILITY GO FUCKING PLAY WITH EUROS AND USD. GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE.

FUCK YOU

I thought that the idea behind crypto is to get it to be accepted as a currency alongside USD and Euro? If you want to be a C-suite member then wear a suite and tie. In layman terms for you to understand is if you want to be taken seriously, you have to adopt the characteristics of the other players in the league you want to play in. In this case stability is one of them. If you do not want stability then it means you do not have one of the core objectives of crypto at heart. One more piece of advice, there is no such thing as get rich quick in crypto. Maybe there is for a select few. But if you want the whole community to benefit then have a gradual increase.
3727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 25, 2014, 11:07:54 AM
The community is free to do as it wishes, and I can see the attraction of this "project". But, I can also see why the "official" members of BC Dev team cannot support this action. The Devs are focused on building the BlackCoin Corporation in a professional, business-like sense and we should allow them the space to do that - they are doing AWESOME so far!

There would be harm if this was "officially" supported by the Dev team as it would hurt their reputation. But if some of the community want to do some organised purchasing, then I can't see any harm in that.

Just also remember that whatever is done the record thereof will be in the graphs. Just like a credit history, a non-payment indicator stays there month after month until it falls off on the left and over time one can explain it away as a problem of the past. However the price graph can be pulled from the start. If the "price increase action" is a sustainable one that leads to a higher sustainable value then great. If however it is followed by a "price decrease action" then it will stick out like a sore thumb and be difficult to explain away for some time and will be used by analysts and tools to judge the coin's risk profile.
3728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 25, 2014, 10:34:31 AM
and agree tho - pumps will come naturally too, but it's almost chicken or the egg. it happens when new investors are injected or on good news (periodically) as you mentioned. but why would they come when they see manipulative whales with big walls with fud in the forums and there are a million other 'cheaper' choices on the market? how do you convince them this is a good coin without sounding like an informercial? how do you wait for positive sentiment in a downward trend when cryptos are moving at the speed of light with new coins (clones) popping up each day? i already mentioned but 4...FOUR colored coins on polo already! when no news is out (like currently in blackcoin this week), a gain can spark interest and turn heads at the least. not saying to double the price. but just show green. show steps upwards. bring in new money and then on good news bring in even more!

Whatever is done, just get the right heads to turn - investors and not just speculators.

OH AND BY THE WAY FOR THOSE THAT SAY "BE PATIENT", I HAVE THIS FOR YOU: FUCK YOU!

TELL THE PATIENT STORY TO THE RIPPLE GUYS FOR EXAMPLE

FUCKING IDIOTS, REALLY STUPIDITY GETS ON MY NERVES

OPEN YOUR ASS AND PUT THE PATIENCE INSIDE AND BE PATIENT BY YOURSELF

I HAVE NO PATIENT I WANT THIS JUST HIGH

Some people just don t get it. They can t take the hit, and call for a pump? What do you want? A price good enough so that you can be out?

I have a secret for you. You will be shake off lower than you think. Continue to call for a pump and that thing will go lower and lower. The so called pumper that you are calling will pump it when there won t be any bagholders. They don t want people out while pumping, they want them to support their pump. That s the way any market works, and especially the altcoins.

So before calling for a pump "telling everyone you know that you want out", sell now or stfu. You are doing no good to your money believe me.

If BlackCoin starts going up fast there will be a Panic buy

He probably bought in at 90k.

@troiste, there is nothing wrong with a natural pump, because that is supported by fundamentals, or perhaps caused by whales. This is part of normal life. The problem with a orchestrated pump not supported by fundamentals is that the new level will not stay and price will fall below where it started. The pump will come when the time is right. The community must foster stability and not pump and dump schemes. The problem is that if there is a high percentage of speculators in a coin just looking for a pump and dump then a coin is dead. If the balance can be swung to where the majority of holders are investors then that means real growth. If this can be achieved then that would be great. Tell me, if you were a merchant selling for USD, and the USD exchange rate fluctuated to your local currency one day $10, next day $30, the day after $3, how are you going to do your pricing? Between you taking your proceeds back to fiat will cause huge fluctuations and not to mention the administration of changing prices on your products. As a merchant you will abandon the coin for something more stable.

What is the objective of the coin, to be rolled out to merchants as a tender currency or to be pumped and dumped for profit? As I understand it the objective is the first, therefore if a holder's objective is to speculate then move elsewhere.  Having said this there will always be margin for speculation within the upper and lower bands. A stable currency is one of the most important objectives - in my mind this is not buying and selling shares, but something that can be used to buy and sell stuff with.

I bought at 2K.

Bitcoin is also used by merchants and is fluctuating everyday, if you want the Fiat boringness, use them, no need to use crypto currencies.

What do you want? "A stable currency", you want BlackCoin to be stable forever around the 10 cents?

This is not fiat, cryptos are pump and dumped many times and this is part of the process.

You say that with a pump and dump the coin is dumped below the price before the pump. But thats not entirely the case, look at BTC for example pump started when it was at $100, now after the dumps its still at $500.

I tell you, if BlackCoin now from one day to the other Skyrockets 100%, there will be a mass PanicBuy, many new investors will be in.

Many people are not in yet because they dont see the price increasing, they don't think "Now is cheap I'm going to buy", they think "Now is collapsing its gong to die, and I'm not stepping in"

Blackcoin is not like any other shitcoins we have huge volume for some time, if there is a pump everything will skyrocket, price, popularity, usability, etc. Dump will come but this is normal and I don't think the price after the dump will be lower.

Look at the last Blackcoin pump, started at what? 2 cents? Went to 40 cents, now is at 12 cents.... you see the price below the previous price? I don't.

Like I said many times, go and watch BTC chart since 2010, this is how a coin matures with pumps and dumps, and preventing them is like preventing the coin from growing.

Fiat stability would be great. Nobody said prevent a pump, just prevent an orchestrated pump. There is nothing wrong with a natural pump and nothing can be done to a pump that we have no control over eg. whale action. Pumps will come naturally at the right time because of positive sentiment. We need to attract fresh capital from the 3rd category. With 3rd category I mean a) small guy with a speculator hat on, b) whale with whatever hat on he chooses, c) investor wearing a long term hat that wants ROI over time that is higher than what he would get investing in other items like gold, blue chips, property etc. and some assurance that his investment is not going to lose half its value depending what time of day he looks at it. Of course there is higher risk that would increase cost of capital that is the inherent nature of this game. If we can prove that an investor can lower his cost of capital because of responsible actions and strategy over things management has control over, then we will succeed in attracting the fresh capital. At this point we have many a) category investors, in fact most of them, then there are some b) category that prowls around and then little category c). We want to increase the buy side with lots of investor money so that the lower level can be gradually increased. First prize would be such a large amount of fresh capital that it could make the category b) investors think twice before doing manipulation. Unfortunately category c) investors want stability. If management plays their cards right then then there can be a tilt towards category c) investors and if management makes mistakes the mix will tilt towards category a). When that happens instability will occur with the small fish bleeding attacking the category b) whale sharks to the feeding ground. Don't get me wrong, there is always place for speculators as they too provide capital and liquidity, one must just get the balance right.

The objective as I understand it for crypto is to make it the preferred tender instrument, quoting and paying with it due to low cost and transaction fees. For this fiat like stability is required.  In an unstable environment, including BTC currently by the way, it is difficult to achieve this objective although many try. This will let merchants move towards third party providers that convert digital currency to fiat eg. Bitpay and in effect merchants then quote and pay in fiat. This ramps up cost for using crypto. This sort of defeats the purpose and then everyone can just as well go back to using just fiat. Merchants should have some assurance that they will be protected through the procurement and sales cycles without the risk of pricing going haywire for crypto to work properly as tender instrument. As far as I know there are no hedging instruments or other forward contracts that can be taken out and in the current climate no-one will underwrite that either - perhaps in a stable environment. There are some of the hurdles crypto have to overcome for mainstream adoption.

So I'll ask again, how do I unlock my wallet so that I can mint/stake, but keep my password/encryption? I like having many opinions on this cause I don't want to ruin my wallet. I would cry.

And the answer has been posted countless times. Can dev please update OP with the procedure as it is asked every 2nd page.

Go into debug:
In the console type walletpassphrase <yourpassphrase> 99999999 true

That can easily be adapted to BC if we can convince them to add BC.

Can you do something for it Iconic?  Do you know if there are other bitcoin debit cards accepted in visa or mastercard terminals ?

I timed my buy perfectly with a waffle pool dump! Got 12,000 white coin at 804 satoshis, and it's already back up to 860  Smiley

Market is trying to rally even with all the dumping.

We got 20 hrs to go... I think I'm as much in as i'm going to get in  Grin
I think we'll start seeing the rally even before mining/dumping ends, right now there is an impressive amount of buying. I'm buying a bit more whenever we go down 100 satoshis, bought at 1150, 1050, 950, and now 800, which is lowering my avg buy in price.

100 satoshi?  when do you predict this?

He is buying down in increments of 100 sat. Not at 100 sat.

This is beautiful!!!  Grin

Can someone explain this chart like i'm 5 years old ?!?!               what am I looking at here?!?!

In layman terms, unless the red guys are good mountain climbers they will struggle climbing over those steep green cliffs. The cliffs on the green side (guys that want to buy) are buy walls - large buy orders at a certain price, aka resistance to protect the coins value to easily fall below a certain price if the holders of BC (red guys) start selling. Only when a whale (guy with lots of BTC or BC) comes along would those walls be chipped away. We like big steep walls on the green side and a very gradual slope on the red side then it is good.

Anyone else having problems sending and receiving BTC today? I sent 0.1 to mintpal over 2 hours ago, it showed up on mintpal quickly, but I have zero confirmations still. I also bought 0.1 BTC from coinbase and no confirmations in over an hour :/

If you look at the BTC blocks it seems to be solved very slowly today at times. Blocks 297493 to 297497 took 3 hours.

Guys I'm getting bored please someone pump this up, can someone explain why the Pump was canceled? Why is a pump a bad thing? Really I don't understand please explain me how can the BlackCoin official guys come in and stop a pump?HuhHuh

Its like somebody says: I'm going to pump your coin to $100 is that ok for you? and the community says: NO DONT DO THAT.

WHY NOT YOU STUPID FAGS?HuhHuhHuh WHY THE FUCK NOT!!!!

A PUMP MEANS AN INCREASE IN VALUE WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE??? WHY THE FUCK WAS THIS PUMP CANCELED BRING THIS PUMP ON

If you can answer me the following then I can answer your question.

In war is it wise to send your army racing ahead to make gains deep in enemy territory when:

a) Your supply lines are still at home base? or
b) Your supply lines are set up to support your troops ?(ammo, artillery, tanks, medical staff, diesel and other logistics)

In scenario a) your front line will run out of steam and either be killed or have to fall back. You lose both men and ground. You will also lose support of the homeland people funding the war and support for the war will fade due to all the body bags that arrive back home. In scenario b) your advances can be supported and you can maintain the gains. You have to move the logistics with the advancing forces, then you can have good news stories to tell the people at home and they will be more willing to support the war cost and fund more fresh money.

A pump without support by the indicators, volumes etc. will quickly die out and the price will settle lower than before. This game is very much based on perception and once perception is tarnished, confidence is tarnished and you have lost the war. Investors will see it as a fruit pressed ripe before its time and drop it as such and move on. Let the snowball grow bigger on its own and if a natural pump occurs, it means there is a good chance that the fundamentals are there that caused the pump and that could maintain it at a new higher level.  An orchestrated pump has a good chance of not having the correct support in place and will most probably fail. Only time will tell how much damage was done by the orchestrated pump attempt and how that has influenced perception.

If you want a pump, go to a whorehouse. Not on the BC market.
3738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 24, 2014, 09:22:51 AM
OMG WHY IS IT DROPPING BELOW 35K Huh

1. General lull in alt crypto at the moment
2. Whale activity
3. Pool down
4. People were not happy with BC staying in a safe band and stirred with dangerous artificial meddling speak, spooking investors. Now it has broken out of the safe band to a new level but lower.

But don't worry, it will go back up when the new innovations go online - Coinkite etc. and investor confidence return. Also when the pool is fully functional again or when the whales decide it should go up again. I would still stay with BC over the long term due to its fundamental characteristics and the dev team's effort as well as the community support. This is just temporary.
3739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 24, 2014, 08:51:34 AM
Guys any words on why the pool hasn't paid out today yet?

It is down for a security audit. There was a lot of hacking activity over the whole crypto community and as a precaution the BC pool has been taken offline to do an audit for at least 12 hours on the Scrypt side.
3740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 24, 2014, 08:34:58 AM
Like with anything if the core team continues innovation and with community support the mean uptrend will continue. Today there is a dip and tomorrow there is a rise and the day after that a dip again and rinse and repeat. That is part trading. A new level will be achieved after Coinkite goes live and due to merchant demand and then volumes would go up again. There will be ups and downs at the new levels again. Long term view is key unless you are a speculator. Strong fundamentals are hard to kill, unless there is active destruction through dev actions or other artificial meddling by "management".
