We would like to announce that Luckygames starts accepting Bitcoin Gold

Nice.

I never cashed/sold mine.   But, don't mind playing the field.

Yes, mine happily syncing away. Been at it for 2 days now, I reckon 2 more to go...

Did you have to do anything special?
Did you add nodes, etc?

Did you start from scratch or did you import from btc or bch synced chains?

No, literally just started the program and it has been syncing ever since. No fiddling around, nothing. And I did start from scratch, yes.

Thanks, decided to dump out any blocks which were after the fork on the BTC chain, and then did a reindex.
Took all night, but then it made it to the block and then synced the rest.  Ok, now have a full node running.

imported a private key to test with.  Has to rescan, which strangely took an hour.
The SBTC is there to move... but..... uhhhgggg......

Move to where?
Doesn't appear that any wallets support it and no exchanges (meaning you can't deposit/withdraw).

Anyone know where these coins can be purchased or sold?

243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 23, 2017, 04:54:29 PM
Just made a sizable investment in Byteball...

There isn't much time left to buy.

Very nice.

How do I claim coins from forks of Bitcoin?

Are these all the Bitcoins forks:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bitcoin_forks

CALM is not a fork from bitcoin too ? sorry I always  thought it was.

Clam is also a fork, weird that it isn't on the Wikipedia page.

Thanks.

CLAM is not a fork.  It is an airdrop based on bitcoin addresses having any balance.
Basically, the same as Lumens and Byteball in the concept of free 'airdrops'.

Forks are a split of the chain.  BTC forks are:  BCH, BTG, BTX, and many new forks like United, Diamond, Platinum (metals, stones, etc).

Thanks, I didn't know that.

What are other airdrops of Bitcoin I could claim?

"BTC forks are:  BCH, BTG, BTX"
245  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-14] United Bitcoin Hard Fork Aims to Steal Inactive Wallet Balances on: December 23, 2017, 06:47:44 AM
Does anyone have proof this is a scam? I run a website listing all coins giving airdrops to Bitcoin holders and as far as I know, there is nothing making this coin more of a "scam" than many of the other forks.

Let me know if I missed anything.

I think the main reason people are saying it is a scam is because they are going to steal "inactive" bitcoins and distribute them to someone (probably many to themselves).

Edit: Not to mention that per their web site, "inactive coins" will be sent to the "UB Foundation's" multi-sig addresses.  And they define "inactive" is coins that didn't move between blocks 494000 and Block 498777 ("automatic")  or between blocks Block 498777 and Block 501878 ("manually done").  And the coins have to move "from his/her own address to his/her own address" and "The output address (receiving address) must also be listed as one of the input addresses and cannot be a totally new address."

In other words, 99% of the people using bitcoin probably were not "active" during this period so will get nothing and the UB people will get most of it.

Pretty much dead on.

Why even announce it to the public if you're going to take 99%+ coins for yourself.  Do they really think the public isn't going to know it's essentially a total pre-mine?

Just think, Roger Ver and Winklevoss brothers would have to risk moving their billions of dollars worth of coins in hopes to claim.   I haven't moved coins in 6 months, and am not going to (risk it) in order to get this scam coin.

Good luck all.

247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 23, 2017, 05:26:52 AM

What?! How can you restore wallet addresses without both the database and the private key (aka the wallet seed). This would be a security issue.

Hint:  He said the rest of the files were there.   (He did not have a backup and only the sql file was gone).
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: United Bitcoin (jeff garzik) on: December 22, 2017, 08:55:13 PM
You can move a little btc and still claim the airdrop until the deadline.  The only issue is that the airdrop deadlines are looming and they've done a piss poor job advertising it and disseminating info.

Oh sure, tell everyone with hardware wallets and cold storage and physical coins that they need to move coins to get into this crap.
Tell everyone with coins on exchanges to move to a wallet just to prove the coins are active.
And, tell everyone that it must be done in this little time frame.

Absolute crap.

It's being promoted as a way to recover coins that might have been lost and more directed to steal Satoshi coins, but steals everyones' potential tokens that hasn't used/moved them in the last 1 month?
Fucking crap scam coin.

Not only will I not dump them, I will never move my coins just to dump them.  At least with other forks, you get them and can dump them.  This crap is not only a scam which they are stealing peoples token, it makes you risk making a mistake of moving coins to an address you may not have access to.  Total crap.   Go ahead and risk moving your cold storage wallets by putting them on a computer that's infected.  You lose everything just to rush in and collect a couple of scam tokens.

I triedwith the old version of the wallet and I had the error message that the wallet was to a wrong version, not up to date.
Ok : I de the update to the new version of the wallet.
And now I have the message "This textcoin was already claimed",

I not receive anything... :-(.

Because it  "was already claimed".    To reword it for you.... It was already claimed, or,     someone got to it before you did.  You were too slow.

I made the update of the wallet to the new 2.0 version.
All is working fine but I have a message o the launch of the wallet about my profile is coming from a newer version of NW.js and I have to change my profile directory (?) or using a more recent version of NW.js.
I had this kinf of message with my previous version of the wallet.
I use Ubuntu 14.04 (up to date).

You could do a simple internet search (via google or other favorite search engine) or even on bitcointalk.org to find a simple fix.
I'll get it for you......

Linux users who upgrade from 1.10.0 will have to delete all files (but not subdirectories!) in ~/.config/byteball/Default in order to get rid of the annoying (but harmless) popup about profile format.  This is because we had to revert to an older version of nwjs to address one issue https://github.com/byteball/byteball/issues/201.  Backup before deleting.

Mac and Linux users please upgrade.

That will fix it for you.

Why the next Airdrop scheduled for Mar 2, 2018? It was every month before.
Will this be the last round with 100% distribution or what's the difference?

Because he decided to change it in order to get more people actually interested in the crypto instead of those just wanting to stand in the welfare line to dump it.
No, it will not be the last distribution.  The rate is the same as the last one.

hi, quick question is it possible to restore the wallet without seed and backup-files if byteball.sqlite file was deleted?? all other files are fine

No

Actually, yes, it is.  (You may contact me directly.)
But, what fool would not make a backup AND delete the sql file?

i dont know about unitedbitcoin, is there any ANN thread about this? if you mean united trader Grin that a good ICO project..

Yes, this thread is about UnitedBitcoin.   Did you really just pump an ICO?   heh

Was asked about this fork myself, and the very first thing I noticed is that they will be taking ALL bitcoin history for coins not used prior to Nov 1, 2017.

Trying to clear up the question.  I purchased bitcoin 6 months ago and put it into a wallet.  They want me to move those coins between November 1st and December 12 to prove they are not lost which forces me to expose a security risk otherwise they keep them.

Basically it appears they're forking the chain, but keeping about 16 million coins which is basically a 90%+ premine?

They need to go back 5 years or more.  Not simply 1.5 months.  Appears like a useless fork in which they keep 90%+

Seems like a scam-coin on steroids.  Most people didn't know about it before December 12 (nor now).  Anyone who buys the BS they are selling is crazy to do so.

It's another attempt to de-anonymize people's coins where the forkers get to keep actually well over 95% of the coins and tells the public something stupid like.... "Well, if you moved your cold wallets in time, you would have gotten something.   You have exactly this much time... oh wait, time's up... you lose out.  sorry, we're rich now and we submitted all your addresses to chain-analysis. suckers"

you're right..
but it works on some wallets like these :

1JUToCyRL5UwgeucjnFAagKs4v1YqhjT1d
13DYB5HbAZ9ZESPSgDiFEY9fV3ugkbfgQK

i don't know why not working with your wallet.. maybe because last transaction is old.

That wasn't my transaction.
A blockchain is in order of date.  So, even if it hadn't caught up, it should still have older transactions prior to new ones.  Basically, it wouldn't make sense that it would have a newer transaction prior to an older one.

I've checked 10 different addresses in my wallet.  3 show a balance.

Not calling it a scam site.  It's definitely broken though.

254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hard fork 17 December - Super Bitcoin on: December 21, 2017, 07:44:44 AM
you can use this site for Address Check if has balance or not :
http://sbtcwallet.org/

Either fake website in hopes of recording generated wallet addresses, or the explorer is down.
- Showing all addresses as empty.

i guess it only check tow numbers after dot.
example : X.XX SBTC

if you have lower than 0.009 sbtc i guess it will appear as empty.

Not true.

Check any address.
I picked a random address: 16JsPYBSYtGuF1w9EGtpYk8GqJ8SQ8QcCz     Has 32BTC in it.
The website still shows 0

I am also hearing this for the first time and hope we would get some free coin from them in days to come and also we would see them in the market soonest. We would need a lot of this splitting in other to reduce this network conjection.

Splitting (Forking) coins does absolutely nothing regarding network congestion.  This is just a scam coin.  Worse than any other alt.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announced the launch of a new Bitcoin fork - UnitedBitcoin on: December 19, 2017, 07:49:36 AM
Is this project increase the value of their forked bitcoin in future. Whether it can go to moon ??

No, this project is total crap.

This is a total scam.

A fork is fine, but give the people the fork.

What is easily passed in the roadmap is that they give out coins that are active after November 1st.

So, if you bought your bitcoins 2 months ago - You get nothing.

So, 16.75 Million coins distributed, but if you haven't used any in the last 1.5 months, you get nothing.  THEY get them.

So, one for you and xxx,xxx for them.
another one for you and xxx,xxx for them.

I still can't believe that they expect anyone that purchase their coins as an investment over 2 months ago get nothing.

This is basically a scam, a pre-mine, and de-anonymization of bitcoin owners whom try to get some if this free coin by moving coins around if they want to claim anything.  It's not a fork when they get 16.5 million out of the 16.75 in existence.
