201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNITED BITCOIN on: January 31, 2018, 04:53:55 PM
Strange the hash power died the same day of the distribution... Why would the network slow down the same day of the distribution?

What distribution?

The complain is that no one is actually getting the coins other than exchanges for Phase 1.

No distribution happened for Phase 2 (a month ago), nor even the updated time of Jan 24th.   And, for people to think they are going to get a distro for the Grace period in a month is simply funny if they haven't distributed from the last phase a month ago.

Quite simply, this is a Shame coin.  Even garzik hasn't made a single reply to any of the UB threads.  Even the one he is the moderator on.

At least some scam coins admit it.  This one simply never responds.  I'd rather buy into https://shill-coin.org/ as they tell you it's a shill up front.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNITED BITCOIN on: January 30, 2018, 04:48:48 PM
but not many exchanges are anonymous and they may well have signed up with garzik's company to keep track of questionable coins. exchanges these days are alot more scared of breaking an unknown law than annoying you.
Fine than. I shapeshift to some untraceable coin and the analysis chain is still broken. All they might know is that at some point in the past the fake name and disposable anon sim I used has had some BCN or something of the sort.

I believe this is too elaborate and of too little value. When the "tax" they request is hard cash in hand, much more palpable.

That's all fine and dandy trying to anonimize your coins; however, the issue still remains that they haven't even paid out for Phase 2 that completed nearly a month ago.  So, no reason to believe that going after the Grace Period coins after giving up information is going to be any better.

What's next?  Phase 2 Grace Period Extra Super Round by linking your Facebook and Twitter accounts to get the Super Extra Bonus stuff (and still while not paying the prior rounds and/or retracting them as well in God mode)?   Smiley
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNITED BITCOIN on: January 30, 2018, 02:12:05 PM
For phase 2 claim now they want me to send an amount of BTC to some addr. WTH? Is this like a "tax" for claiming?

1Gp55PCWuNGXFwLqWQoSkiL325Ksj4rhuM - lots of transactions. This method of claiming is outright BS.

Actually... Phase 2 is over and they didn't distribute anything.

They are now in Phase 2 (B) called 'Grace Period' in which they want you to now sign up and they now require identifying information.
Without having given out the original Phase 2 distribution which closed nearly a month ago, there is no reason to believe they would give out phase 2 grace period after you give up your personal information.  It's simply another tactic to obtain information for their Chain Analysis software to track and record who owns what coins and not give you anything for your information.

Quite simply, it might as well be people trying to find the richest bitcoin holders in order to extort them.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNITED BITCOIN on: January 28, 2018, 06:01:43 AM
edit - i downloaded ub electrum. i do have a ubtc balance on there. it's saying 'not verified'. i don't know what that means. i hope that doesn't mean i need to provide a blood sample before they mysteriously unlock them.

Full chain said nothing.
The website explorer shows the coins came in and were taken away (unutilized) - Phase 1.   Never to come back even completing movement for Phase 2.
And finally, electrum shows the coins, but not that they were taken away or replaced.

So, with your electrum, you will see the 'not verified' go away, but when you try to move them, it will give you the error.  As a test, just move them from one address to another of yours and see.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNITED BITCOIN on: January 27, 2018, 09:37:19 PM
Yesterday I received the following reply from technical support:
"Thank you for your email, you are eligible for Phase 2 distribution. However, phase 2 distribution to some of the community was completed 24th January. If you haven't received your allocation yet please don't panic. Distributions are still ongoing, apologies for the delay."

I call Bullshit.   Has a single person received UBTC (confirmed) that they were to receive in Phase 2  (not even considering the Phase 2 Grace Period) that they can spend/move?
- Of course there are going to be one or two that think they have, but not realize they can't be moved.  So, post such an address.  Smiley

The website explorer is screwed.  No update for balances.
The Electrum (thin client) shows what should be the correct balance; however, it never updated since UB took all the coins back from Phase 1 since the Bitcoin were 'unutilised'.
- So, you will see a balance, but you can't move them as you'll simply get an error.

The Phase 2 was 3 weeks ago, with a distribution of Jan 24th.  Personally, I have many addresses with small on up to larger amounts.  Not a single one received a part of the distribution.

206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNITED BITCOIN on: January 27, 2018, 05:11:38 AM
the wallet with the full node freezes with synchronization on time January 24 13:31:37 2018, so it will not help either.
in electrum, too, a mistake "" the transaction was rejected ... "

Your issue is duplicated by everyone.

Quite simply, it appears a failed fork like others without a response.  Now they just want to provide a 'grace period' where you have to provide your personal information now even if you did complete the phase two correctly.

They just want to de-anonymize wallets.  garzik using the information for his chain analysis tools.

I only lost about 3 bucks and a few hours on this so I'm not gonna cry. just curious as to what really happened.

I wasted more money and a lot more time claiming.

Looks like it was simply a scam to deanonymize wallets.   Kind of like United Bitcoin is where they keep claiming you get something, but turns out you have to keep giving up more and more information.  With Bytether, as least you get/got something that is worthless and stuck in the wallet.

Looks like it's simply a failure before it even started.  Better luck even with B2X.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Claiming United Bitcoin on: January 23, 2018, 10:32:29 AM
According to their rules?  Yes.

And, if you didn't, there is now an additional Grace Period; however, the signup for that requires now your personal information.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AirDrop] Bytether, The New Bitcoin, - 1:1 Cross-Fork of Bitcoin onto Ether on: January 15, 2018, 07:05:28 PM
They haven't responded in nearly a week now.

Their website is now taken down as well.

210  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [Airdrop] EBX EtherByte on: January 15, 2018, 06:40:49 PM
Wait..... No website?

Gotta be kidding me.  What company, ico, project opens up without even having a website or domain.

How many fake accounts in this thread claiming to 'love the project'?   Ummm, no project even listed.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Byteball's Marketing Fund. Make your contribution to the development of Byteball on: January 15, 2018, 04:23:19 AM
Honestly, I love the idea.

Need to find a way to make this work out for everyone.  Smiley

I need to pay something to claim or it's just with a signed message?
(I can't find this token on coin marketcap, any idea to see actually quotation?)

You need to pay the ETH transaction fee; however, I would hold off until the team resurfaces.  I haven't heard anything for nearly a week now.

I don't believe anyone has heard from them in days.  Sad

That said, there is a current issue.  Not sure if it's bytether fault or etherscan.io problem.

It appears the BTH was in the registered address, and now it's not.  Seem liks a goof in the matrix.  Waiting on a response now.

Turns out it was an etherscan issue.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AirDrop] Bytether, The New Bitcoin, - 1:1 Cross-Fork of Bitcoin onto Ether on: January 06, 2018, 09:07:12 AM
Is it possible to get BTH for my bitcoins that were in a cold storage / paper wallet during Bitcoin Cash fork?

Yes.  That's the entire idea.

https://www.bytether.com/register.html  -- Just plug in any bitcoin address (yours), and it will tell you if there is BTH to claim or not.  Then you just follow the process to claim them.

216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hard fork 17 December - Super Bitcoin on: January 02, 2018, 03:02:56 PM
I don't get it - their website says there is an Electrum wallet - but when you go to the Electrum website there is no mention of it.
Does anyone know where the SBTC wallet is?
I can't find one anywhere.

Go to the official site:
http://supersmartbitcoin.com/

At the top, next to the words Super Bitcoin is a download link.

That is their wallet.

Thanks! wow - they didn't make that easy to find! Why don't they put a link to it in the wallets section?!! weird.
Anyway - I noticed there are people posting scam phishing sites on here too.

REMEMBER - ALWAYS TRANSFER ALL YOUR BTC TO A NEW WALLET BEFORE TRYING TO CLAIM ANY FORKED COINS !

Yes, this is the golden rule of forks! Never ever claim any forkcoin before having emptied 100% your own wallet! Better safe than sorry.

Exactly.

I remember trying to keep full amounts of bitcoin in various wallets.  With all the forks, it's not possible.  Meaning, it's too much work.  Just realize that you're going to have to pay TX fees to take small parts of each in fees for each fork.

Have an old address?  Just work your way down the value in each for till you claim each.

The DEV may be should consider the distribution method used by UCASH right now, they just launched their new currency you need to register at their website, verify your email and phone number and get 500UCASH their referral program which give you 250UCASH for every new member you refer  is what will be good for ByteBall so basically you let people work for ByteBall and spread the word.you will get thousands of new people to join ByteBall in not time.

That would be worse if it totally went that way.
Example... Tai Lopez has 1 million follows.   So, he would end up with a bunch of money simply posting a youtube video with no skin in the game.

You would end up with a bunch of youtube pumpers just to dump coins.
- I admit, it would spread the coins around faster and end up with a lot of volatility as people rush to sell them (even though it would be a lot of people with small amounts).

is it because it not done with sync

Well, first, you've 9 months behind on syncing.  You made the mistake of changing the defaults on the wallet installation from lite wallet to full node.
You will have to wait until you sync.

And, if you don't have any bytes, then you still will not be able to send the black bytes.  Must wait until you've synced first to know.

219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][THC] The Hempcoin (THC) on: January 01, 2018, 08:42:59 PM
The OP is a 404 link for the Windows wallets.

hempcoin.org has a single download link to what appears to be a 32bit wallet.
hcwin32.exe   26.3 MB (27,632,640 bytes)     MD5  D6FDCBD5E6F8A6C59A73504458B91876
- This download simply crashes for me when trying to run it.

Being skeptical, I decide to look at the github.  It has yet another set of files and hashes.
https://github.com/hempcoin-project/THC/releases
v2.0.1.0

hempcoin-qt-2.0.1-32bit  26.3 MB (27,638,784 bytes)  MD5 CFDAC93F66A68883B769CEFD7CC363A0
hempcoin-qt-2.0.1-64bit  25.0 MB (26,306,048 bytes)  MD5 A1B5CDE96038C6F621FA0E88278E7216

What gives?

Would be nice if the official site has a real downloadable link and hash information, etc.
