401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PoW/PoS180%]AltCommunityCoin New mandatory update!. on: October 23, 2017, 06:17:41 AM
I have participated the last airdrop, but there is still no coins in my wallet. There is no doubt that I have been included since right after OP post the link, I have finished my application lest than 10secs. Can you please update the spreadsheet. Thanks!

What do you mean by application?

oh i missed the previous airdrop. Sad
question, do you have plans on adding a mobile wallet?

Interested in seeing that myself.  I couldn't find mention of it.

The big guys will continue playing with byteball. When they think it's time to pump, they will pump. When it's time to dump they will dump. If they wanna keep the price low and tight, that's what you'll have to deal with. If you like it or not.

Ohhh, you mean the big guys make things happen?   This is good knowledge.
Damn, you mean like EVERYTHING in life.

As for the event, I am happy to see it's an event with 100+ speakers.  So, it's pretty damn big.  I would rather see that than some simple bitcoin meetup with a couple of speakers and 20 people showing up.
Also, with the cost of the tickets, it's not simply kids showing up trying to get in on some free swag.

i also want to ask you people how to backup my wallet from my old laptop. i have tried synchronizing the wallet from the phone with the one on the laptop but did not work the transfer of coins..what am i missing?

Backup on old laptop to a file.   Move that file to the new device and use it to restore.  It's really that simple.

UNLESS you have full node on the pc.  A mobile device is a light client.
- You would know if you run a full node on the pc because of the time it takes to sync and the backup would be 10GB.

Hi, I installed Byteball wallet on my laptop on the 2nd airdrop (I linked my btc address). Then I was abroad and forgot that.
Now when I open it ask me to upgrade. Is there any specific procedure to do before?

Although it's already recommended that you make a full backup often, the answer is no.

There is nothing special to be done.  You only need to run the installer.  The software is installed in a different directory than the wallet data.  So, you're safe and nothing else needs to be done or converted, etc.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 19, 2017, 04:02:03 PM
Is there exact block number or exact time when the 4th November Snapshot will happen? And also, how many bytes will be distributed?
November 4, 2017 at 05:23 UTC, depending how much linked BTC (http://transition.byteball.org). and GB.

The snapshot is the first block solved after the full moon.
It was always fun to watch the idiots that couldn't read try to play the market by dumping their bytes seconds after the full moon thinking they were going to beat out everyone else in dumping.  Then only to find out the bitcoin block wasn't solved yet so they lost out on the 10% bonus.  They then came here and slack to complain they were screwed.

I can't wait for the next distribution to happen to laugh again.

So, the snapshot is the first block after the full moon.   Wouldn't it be funny if this was changed to the second block or if there was a reorg on the bitcoin blockchain?

Appreciate it, CryptKeeper!

That I can do, but won't the wallet need to be fully synced to successfully complete the send? I was under the impression that creating a send transaction would slow down the sync process even more.

It's been about a month since I've been synced up, so I don't want to slow this down any more than I have to Smiley

Let me know, man.....

peace!

To restore the twelve-words seed, you don’t have the original wallet to be synced. But sending out Blackbytes with a not fully synced wallet could be a problem. I guess Michail1 knows more about it!  Wink

Basically, you're going to have to let it sync to make sure you also have all your bytes (both bytes and blackbytes).

My suggestion though (since you're only running the node every once in a while (so no reason to run full node)) is to let it sync and then go through the process of converting to a lite wallet.  There is a couple of ways to do this (in order to save your black bytes).    You probably want to retain your addresses since they're registered for airdrops or other reasons and this can be done as well --- accomplished easier with another device.

I have no idea where i should start when it comes to writing about byteball. I stopped counting how many times it was dumped. Funny enough, its dumps has nothing to do with the current market trend. Anyway, this coin is a real waste of time. By the way, DUMPDROP is coomiiing.....

Oh good, so you're going to sell your GB and stop writing about it?

Nice.  Give me a good deal on your GB then.

I have some blackbytes in my mobile phone wallet. I have full backup for this wallet already.  Would i be able to get my coins if i restore the wallet on my desktop? Little help would be appreciated.

Yes.  Install the wallet on the desktop, and then do a full restore from your full backup.
(Don't use that wallet on both devices at the same time though.)

Sounds good. Keeping my Byteballs tight.

Protect your balls!

I for one am tired of being only 1 or 2 people calling out the FUD in this thread and reddit.

Look at all the shitcoins, blockchain clones, talked about everywhere and none of you guys mention Byteball. Why?

Can not have adoption or good distribution by being silent.

Ahhhh, but you're not the only two.   Many other places

I'm on slack, irc, and discord.   AND, I've never dumped any byteball.
Also, I spend a lot of time helping people with their byteball wallets and understanding.

It's hard for people not to FUD, cause they only see one alt.  They don't actually see that nearly all alts are going down as it's being sold to buy Bitcoin with the pumps.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 12, 2017, 10:45:10 PM
Pretty much wallet would crash upon initial syncing of the 'full' wallet.

Deleted the byteball %appdata% and reinstalled the 'light' wallet and everything works.

Glad you got it working.

If you want a full node, there is a couple of work-arounds.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 12, 2017, 10:35:42 PM
Hi,

Everytime I go to restore my encrypted backup my byteball wallet goes "poof" and disappears.

Solution?

Restore from full backup or seed?

Using a full node?

Need more details than 'poof'

You're welcome to send me the wallet and I will see what I can do for ya.
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 10, 2017, 08:36:24 PM
Thank you. What wallet would you suggest using?

They all work basically the same.
I really don't suggest one over the other.

Personally, I use Bitcoin Core (full node) and Mycelium (for mobile).   Oh, and electrum in order to import mycelium to a pc if needed.

It's really a personal choice and depends on if you want multi-coin support, etc.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 10, 2017, 07:23:31 PM
Thanks, I really appreciate the time you took to explain it. Would the signature method still work with the nano wallet?

Yes, but do you really want to sign with every address you have for each distribution?

Best thing to do is send all your bitcoin back to a single bitcoin address you have in order to take part.
Right now, we don't know how widely your coins are distributed throughout the wallet (how many change addresses, etc).

So, now that you have an address linked, just wait until just prior to the snapshot (an hour or two), and move your coins then.  Because, even with signing an address now doesn't mean your coins will be there when the snap shot takes place in a month.

415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 10, 2017, 06:25:41 PM
Thanks for getting back. Sorry, I'm new to this so don't quite know what you mean. I used a nano ledger to send the funds so was the Change address in that wallet? And do you know how do I send back the BTC?

I will try the signature method next.

Yes, when you have a wallet (like nano), you have what is called an HD wallet.
So, you basically have a shit ton of addresses.  This is why you see a new address every transaction you make.
Think of this.... you go into McDonalds with a $10 bill and pay $1 for a burger.
You don't rip off part of the $10 bill.  You simply give them $10 and they give you $9 in change.
Kind of the same for bitcoin...
You take $10 to pay $1, but $9 comes back to a change address (another address you own).

So, you have a shit ton of receive addresses and change addresses.   The wallet handles them for you, so all you see is that you have a total balance, but it's made up (normally) of a bunch of addresses.  When you pay someone, it determines which addresses to pull from to pay the amount you want to send.

You know the bitcoin address you currently have linked.  So, best thing for you to do is wait hours before the next airdrop.  Then, tell your wallet to pay the linked address (your address) all your coins.  So, when the snapshot takes place, you get credit for all the coins you own and not simply a part of what you might own.  Another way to say it is that your wallet now has $9, but might be spread accross multiple addresses, so move them all to a single linked address prior to the next distribution snapshot.

Hi all, I've just tried to link my BTC addres to my new Byteball wallet by send $5 but the bot has got the address wrong and says I havae 0 BTC. Any ideas what to do next?

The bot was right.  It was your address when you sent the BTC.
Your wallet then paid the bot, but moved the rest of your BTC from that address to a Change address within your wallet.
So, you can either send the BTC back to the start address

or

Use the signature method.

Well, I'm a bagholder. However, all of the coins that I currently have are airdrop coins. So all that I have lost is my time.  Grin

I don't think that is considered being a bagholder.

$0 in while you own $xyz value means you're ahead.  Smiley

Epis shouldn't really need to use an escrow for such a small amount.  I would personally vouch for the sale myself.   He's trusted.
(Of course, who the heck am I - heh)

Plenty of well trusted people named.  Blazed, Ognasty, minerjones, and episking

Only suggestion I would have is that epis posts the payment address in the thread (maybe on the reserved post) to avoid to many scammers trying to get in on the action.

Wow! I want to collect those....I hope you make raffles or lotteries for advertisement.

I really doubt that will happen for a product that is sold out.  Actually, everything they produce is sold out.
You should probably consider simply buying some.  Smiley
