Now the whining about not getting their GBB [because they did not link a Bitcoin address to their ByteBall address] can officially start.
Oh, it started already. In slack, I've already talked to a few people. My favorite part is when they ask me if I can help them fix it so they get 'their' share. I typically go into a conversation that the first step is to get a time machine and go back three days to do it. One question: I took part in the last 3 Airdrops. My addresses are linked fine and the bot says I'm to expect getting X GB and X GBB. The GB amount is fine but my GBB amount is still 0. I've now waited months for them to appear and also tried to create a couple of addresses to fix it (40-50 total) but nothing seems to help. What am I missing?
Not sure why you thought creating addresses would solve anything. The blackbyte distribution just finished 30 mins ago - Do you see them now? Are you saying that you go blackbytes from the other rounds, but not this round? PM me your address(es) and I can look to see if you did it right. What are the Blackbytes needed for? Is it a own Coin or is it something like GAS in Ethereum or in NEO/Antshares  Blackbytes are a cash-like tokens like bytes build-in byteball platform. You can use them as a form of payment which is private and untraceable. The transactions are far more safe, secure and cannot easily identified the source or destination. Okay that sounds really cool. So how come they are not traded on exchanges then; how does one assess the value of these bytes then? And I know there is a blackbyte bot now but does that mean it is a set rate built in ? Or do you have to wait for a buyer to come accept your price? I barely understood bytes, now you guys dropping blackbytes on me  Do you think taking a private payment system to a public exchange keeps it private? Maybe it doesn't. Just thinking out loud. I see many people even asking about making a chain explorer for blackbytes. Ummm, duh.  |

Full backup. Then on the other device, run a full restore. Don't run the wallet on both devices. That will cause problems. There is another method for that. |

Can somebody explain to me the current distribution situation?
This was my first Byteball airdrop ever. I linked all of my BTC, it's 5 figures (in dollars) worth of BTC that I linked. I was excited to receive a nice amount for that. But what do I get? Not even $50 bucks worth of Byteball. Are you kidding me? This is it?
What the hell happened? I was expecting much more than that. At what are are further byteballs being distributed then? it will take forever if such small amounts get spread around. Aren't people that get in earlier supposed to benefit more?
I did read that they changed the model for this term and from now on the people that hold Byteball will get much more than the people that link their BTC accounts. Well, doesn't that make the people that linked their BTC already (and got a lot of GBYTE on the past distribution periods) increasingly rich? they are going to get so much GBYTE because they are already holding a ton. Like I said im ok with earlier people getting a bigger reward but it seems unbalanced, right now we are still early and we got so little with this term that it was a bit depressing to see not even 50 bucks worth of GBYTE after I spent an entire day linking all of my BTC addresses worth a lot more..
Welfare just isn't what it used to be, amirite? The bot told you what you were going to get and still you expected more? Reminds me of the bums on the side of the street asking for loose change. Give them some and they ask, "Got anymore?" People begging sucks. If you wanted to get more GB, then you should have bought some as you would have gotten a 10% bonus. So, either believe in the program and work it right stop complaining when you didn't win the lottery for simply showing up. Everything was determined a month ago. Don't act surprised when you got exactly what was expected. I'm sorry you spent the 'entire day linking addresses' when you could have in one swoop have moved your BTC to a single address or even better.... just simply bought some GB. You labor efforts are the same as those people spending hours to fill in surveys to get $1. BTC holders received a lot of money to simply dump. This has now changed AND no distro next month. Price will be stable now. (Of course those dumpers having seen the value drop so much, might now buy back in at these much cheaper prices). |

Yep sorry I was wrong  2 days before the airdrop I did a transaction on electrum and it sent the remaining BTC's in my wallet to a new address not linked. Ouch, sorry to hear it, but it happens a LOT. This forces people to learn at Bitcoin and change addresses. |

This issue btw, was raised by me 6months ago to iota in february.

Is there anyone updated the wallet? I am not sure if I should backup the whole wallet first before update I did update my wallet with no issues You should always take a backup before applying an update on the wallet Always backup. Prior to an update, after an update, and before and after blackbyte payments. Like I said before, no one has complained about having too many backups. People always complain when they didn't have a backup they needed. Got my 10% 18 hours ago. Thanks for the airdrop!

I am yet to receive GBB as well. These usually take a little while longer to distribute. Like Tony said less than a day ago.... Distribution of bytes is finished.
Total distributed: 57,444.473272169 GB. It's about $19m at the current rate.
New available supply: 583,896.4940036 GB. Coinmarketcap is already updated.
I'll update when blackbytes are distributed, it is going to take about 3 days.

I started receiveng them when thi price was as high as 0.3btc. However, the price kept falling after each airdrop. The coin price is dramatically low now. I think these airdrops will bring its end soon.
Maybe you should read more than just your own post as blackbytes distribution takes a few days as indicated. So, you're complaining that you're receiving free money? Why doesnt Byteball do one of its airdrops on Ethereum holders? Airdrops are such a great way to build allies.. or maybe people think Byteball is too much of a competitor with its conditional payments and other features (and therefore too many ETH holders would just dump such an airdrop)?
Why doesn't ETH holders dump it and buy Byteball? Byteball is moving away from dropping based on Coin (bitcoin or altcoin) holdings. It's moved to benefit people that actually have Byteball. |

Received the correct amount of Bytes as per new rules. Do we have to backup the wallet every time after Black byte distribution as its not registered on the DAG and kept locally?
You don't have to backup anything; however, highly suggested you make backups all the time (specifically after any blackbyte send/receive). No one ever regretted making too many backups. Most people complain that didn't make a backup when they should have. |

2.5 seconds after the time I think the snapshot may have happened I moved my coins. Will I still get the handout that I really think I totally deserve for doing nothing? Why the hell do you guys have to move your coins around so much? WTF? You cannot just wait a few hours or even a whole frickin day or two to move your coins? What on Earth is so damn important that you have to move them as soon as possible? Completely agree with you. As for the reason for moving.... Those people waiting on their welfare check (free handout) are moving them to an exchange to dump them so they can afford to pay rent, but not first without complaining about it. Next? People will ask simply for cash instead of bytes and demand instant payment. 'Byteball should simply give me my handouts in cash deposited directly to my bank account.' Right? |

Join slack and I will help you figure out why you didn't get anything. First thing to consider is that you didn't do it right - This is 99% of the time. Second is that you haven't waited and are expecting instant payment of your FREE money. (I went to the gym once and ran all the way around the building. Jumped on the scale and it was the same. Oh hell, decided to just quit since I didn't lose 10 lbs after a full 5 mins.) |

Actually there are many ups and downs in the past few days in the byteball bittrex exchange which I don't like much as it makes a foggy situation.
If I hold the byteballs in Bittrex will I receive the (white) byteball airdrop or I should withdraw the byteballs to my desktop byteball wallet in order to receive the byteballs, the white and black byteballs?
Having your coins on any exchange is dangerous. Bittrex will receive the bytes. It's up to them to credit you with the bonus. That said, exchanges do it for free while others charge 5% for the service. Is 5% worth them doing nothing to receive your money for you? Also, with them doing it for you, you then don't get any blackbytes. Less than 9 hours for the airdrop. |
