Sale pending to Brymaster for 14BTC
Also, FWIW, card that was on the styrofoam was sold on eBay, and was furmark tested with stock BIOS for 24 hours without any problems after being allowed on the styrofoam for pictures, but I have 4 more identical cards, 1 of which was for sale and pending to Brymaster; other 3 are not for sale until I find upgrades for them. In any case, noted. It was the closest I had to a (mostly) white flat surface at the time of taking pictures.

1 Sold to Brystar for 14BTCall are soldGot one more another THREE TWO ONE for sale. I have original box + CD and slips of paper that came with it. I'll also include DVI > VGA and 2x double molex > PCI-E power adapters if you want, but they won't be original. Free ship from 54501 to US48. Canada shipping is possible, but expect to pay $10 for international parcel post (unknown time) or $20 international priority (6-10 business days). Little scared shipping overseas though. If you somehow convince me to ship overseas, you're covering shipping costs and any possible customs. First time selling something on forums, willing to be walked through using one of the free forum escrows. I normally sell on eBay, but I'm crossposting here in hopes of avoiding some of the ebay/PP fees. My ebay feedback is http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=ssatenethHere are some pictures of the 5830's in question. Will be cleaned of dust, re-greased with X23-7783D, and furmark tested prior to packing. Yes I used it for mining, but only at 0.95v. Fan exhibits no vibrating or buzzing. Selling another more because I got my hands on a cheap 100% working 3 total 5970's to replace my weaker cards. Asking $95 USD in BTC. Using mtgox for exchange rate, so at the time of typing this, it would be about 12.5 BTCYou can shoot offers if you think $95 is unfair. They will be shipped from 54501 (Northern Wisconsin) of USA. Edit: 2 left. One sold on ebay. edit: 1 left. Sold another on ebay. I saved the best for last. This is my fastest sapphire 5830 Xtreme. It's mining stable at 775/161 @ 0.95v. I have a Diamond 5830 thats -REALLY- good that runs at 875/175 @ 0.95, but it's not for sale just yet. Maybe later when I get more moneys to upgrade.

Having a big ol floor fan wont work well. It doesn't have the necessary pressure to squeeze in fresh air between the cooling fins. You're probably better off cobbling together 2 80mm fans and tying them on. 120mm probably won't have the necessary pressure, plus if they're anything like the non reference 5850's, that is a loooong heatsink.
If you're intent on mining with it, find some 80mm's and tie em on. If you're gaming or selling, better start looking for replacement/aftermarket parts unless you're comfortable selling as a frankenstein.

Don't hold your breath about ivy bridge integrated graphics hashpower. The "GPU" is apples to oranges compared to radeon 5/6/7xxx. There was a thread earlier about an owner getting no more than 5 mhash/sec using the ivy bridge integrated graphics for mining, and he was absolutely sure it was running on the GPU because his CPU wasn't pegged to 100% duty.

Just for anyone who may not be familiar, that Gigabyte dual fan will not disappoint at all in either gaming or mining. Very solid cards these days coming out of them.
Just a note, you CANT change the voltage on the gigabyte dual fan cards, they are hard locked to 1.088v. Pretty bad for mining unless you have free electricity.. I had 0 issues hacking the voltage on mine.... And isn't 1.088 already under in comparison to say a sapph extreme which defaults to 1.163 unless you under. bios mods are not scary. =) No, thats just it I DID use a BIOS mod with RBE, and my kill-a-watt still said the same amount of power, plus there is no way I should be able to run 1 GHz on a 5850 with 0.95v. I'm pretty confident they are hard locked.

Good job getting scammed from someone with a scammer tag. Learn from your mistake, always use escrow on forums.

Xeons don't over clock btw
I was JUST about to say this. Xeon's have hard-locked multipliers, aside from power saving features. You may or may not be able to increase BCLK, but most boards don't support changing the BCLK, or if they are, you can't increase it by much without instability.

wow, very sexy... i'd love to have sealed air conditioned filtered rooms too..

I just want to mention that I use some of the ones included with the Sapphire extremes and have had no issues. Bump for you!
I have 10 of those I'm using now that I got from 5 5830's I bought from newegg. Works great, no problems. Looking for more still (or sata > PCI-E), or preferably PCI-E splitters now. I saw a handful on ebay, but the price is kinda scary.

I have a bunch of 5830's I'm looking to upgrade, and 5830's are essentially the same as 6870's in that they both have 1120 shaders and both are VLIW5. They also over/under-clock/volt. I'd just need to dust them off and pack em up, since they run outside and get a thin film of pollen on them. None of the fans are vibrating/buzzing and the cards are 100% operational. Interested?

I want that magic set of tweaks which would give me more than 460 Mhash per 5870 with the clocks under 1000
That may just -barely- be possibleActually, it is. Heres a screenshot, and config used. Win7 x64, 12.1 driver, 2.1 SDK, Phoenix 2 miner. 5870 @ 990/365/1.187v in my main PC, ran for a short time to confirm its possible. I have previously ran it at 1035 core, but only when its headless. [general] backend = http://1CxcPP8FVktppy4PHTYJKnZFqQeyZ3jArb:x@mining.eligius.st:8337 verbose = true
[cl:1:1] name = GPU 1 5870 MAIN kernel = phatk2 AGGRESSION = 12 VECTORS = true BFI_INT = true WORKSIZE = 256
[web] disable = true BTW, OP, you shouldn't need so many volts. Start at stock volts + underclocked memory (350 is fine considering your target. May need a little higher) and start at say 950 core. Bump by 10 (or 5 for finer tuning) every time its stable for about 2 minutes until it crashes. Increase voltage by 0.0125, and repeat. I really wouldn't go much higher than 1.2v. You shouldn't see much of an improvement, if any, unless your ambient temperatures are subzero since the increased temperatures will just cause failures earlier. I have personal experience with this (northern wisconsin, outside rigs). The mian driving facotr is you have to keep it COOL. Heres a picture where it must've been about -30C outside. You'll note one of my 5870's is running "hot", because the heatpipes literally froze and was unable to carry heat away from the GPU core effectively. The super fast 5870 was using a reference cooler. The "hot" 5870 was using a Zalman VF-3000A cooler, but also note I only needed 1.175v for 1035 core speed. You may be overvolting your 5870 too hard and needlessly.

Not with any cable widely available. You would need a special L-shaped plug to get away with using the blocked port.
