I know there is really no way of knowing how high FTC might pump, but what is your expected target if you are placing some sell bids so you don't miss the rise?

silly idea for 2 reasons.

1) means leaving coins on an exchange  Shocked

2) everyone putting sell orders up reduces the chance someone would even try to pump it.
Valid points but I also don't want to miss the pumps that can happen before you know it and you can't move your coins to an exchange to sell.

So for me I store alt coins I don't intend to hold, but flip on exchanges  Grin. Yeah it is risky, but I don't have the time or access to altcoin wallets 24/7.
It's right, but then, what is your solution for "not missing the rise"?

holding longterm until its used as a genuine proper currency.

anyways though from a daytraders perspective missing the initial pump in ftc aint always a bad thing, look at previous ftc pumps they've gone for many days, eg the big pump last year people selling at 4000 sat (up from 500 odd sats at the low point) missed the 17000sat 7 days later  Shocked.

By the way, people had been recommending XEM for years and hardly anyone paid attention or listened.

hardly any ie none of the XEM pushers mention the fact that XEM distribution was scammed by the distributor., in a big way.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex just kicked off another bunch of dead coins on: January 19, 2017, 02:43:35 AM
That is good way to get rid of bad coins from good exchanges so The value of bittrex exchange will be higher. I fully agree with bittrex actions.
which coins are not future , we do not trade or buy those coins . Try to look for good coins for you

trading vol itself is no indicator of the merit or value of a coin. many a scamcoin has huge vol, plenty of genuine cryptos being worked on quietly by quality dev teams have no volume at all.

for scamcoins its not so hard to use bots to fake volume., in order to keep your scam running., once you've made your btc/fiat, bail start a new scamcoin, which these exchanges will happily list, leaving the bagholders from you previous scam with nothing.

346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex just kicked off another bunch of dead coins on: January 19, 2017, 02:27:53 AM
Bittrex has increased its listing requirements lately and also its process for vetting new coins.

Basically, if a coin is traded on their exchange you can be sure it's an actively maintained currency w/ decent volume.

I agree, also it is a good way to filter  good coins, those with solid group or company backing it. C-cex is also doing the same, they have listings from time to time for coins to be delisted if transaction volume falls below .2 BTC.

delisting based on low trading vol in reality is extremely bad for crypto and assists the multiple scam coin makers.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: January 17, 2017, 01:38:42 AM
Let's all remember kelsey tried to scare you into selling at 900 sats. We'll see how that turns out.

i haven't been scaring people into selling anything  Roll Eyes, and there is no way i could possibly advise people to sell; for the very simple reason that i wouldn't advise anyone to buy Maxcoin 2.0 in the first place.

its not all about profits at all, its i believe people should not get involved in any crypto that purely designed to enrich one or a small group of people (doesn't mean a few people can't tag along and equally make a profit)
....its all meant to be an alternative to the greedy bankers fiat (which keiser himself preachers abouts ad nauseam)...no point if those behind crypto just become the new breed of greedy bankers.

you know you've lost all credibility with you're constant insults rather then debating the facts on merit.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: January 16, 2017, 06:13:20 AM
everytime this shit even tries to go up, it dumps LMAO

Hard to make judgments in such low volume and liquidity. One person buys 2 BTC and it's a "pump"... then one other person sells a fraction of a BTC and it's a "dump".

well thats just the thing, to any large holder liquidity is more important then price. liquidity has been low, so any large holder is simply waiting for any increase in liquidity to offload....simply part of trading 101.

349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: January 16, 2017, 04:30:05 AM
misrepresentations of reality.

no misrepresentation of reality; that Keiser resigned as director Oct 2016, distances himself from startcoin, yet still retains (and is the only person that retains) a "significant control" eg a big stash of coins that could be dumped on a whim at anytime  Shocked
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Core 0.13.2 with SegWit released! on: January 13, 2017, 05:22:36 AM
hi Spoetnik,
don't take this as me suddenly being anti litecoin. i still think litecoin is one of the very few honest coins e.g. it wasn't created merely to make the devs fiat (like 99.7% of other alts).

simply the path of the developers, at this point in time, does not fit with what i think is the way forward for cryptocurrency., doesn't mean they, or I am wrong or right.

you could potentially have a scenario where the things tested for bitcoin work with litecoin but bitcoin for whatever reason doesn't or can't implement them (eg segwit, LN), that would be big for LTC and anyone investing in LTC.

cheers
Kelsey

I mean...

Karl Gray just got approved/appointed/listed as director 2 days ago. The simple truth is that he calls all the shots. Whatever your past experiences with Max, it's disingenuous to suggest he has any ability to "scam" you via START or StartJoin. StartJoin is a real project you can visit for yourself. These fear mongering tactics are just people trying to punish Max in the only place they feel they can get to him.

v2.startjoin.com

In the next 2-9 days we'll have a better idea of where this project stands. Updates coming this next week, according to Karl.

come on i'm sure you're smarter then that, you got to be seeing the real big issue with what you are highlighting  Huh
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: January 13, 2017, 03:39:48 AM
Max is the largest shareholder and is the only person listed who "Has significant influence or control" of the Start holding company, which controls both StartJoin and StartCoin

Incorrect.

Max Keiser resigned as of the 1st of October, 2016
Karl Gray is the Director as of the 10th of January, 2017

No I think you'll find that I am correct, you just stopped looking / reading to soon...but your almost there.

You provide the right link anyway.

354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Core 0.13.2 with SegWit released! on: January 13, 2017, 03:11:12 AM
Yeah Herbert2020 I agree.
Looking at The WIZ i see some whale etc dumping.. bet he wishes he waited LOL

i can say with 100% confidence that any whale who dumped around that time has zero regrets.

i've been a longtime advocate of litecoin but now i've happily bailed.

had been told by various litecoin devs and Coblee, that there are things being worked on (that i wasn't happy with), that are just being tested and not necessarily added.
now i've been around enough company management/government to know things being tested are always exceedingly likely to be added. opponents are always fobbed off with "oh we're just testing that".....right up until its too late to change course.

so now i see the first stage of this, well its time for me to give up any fight (knowing full well certain devs are pigheaded enough to push their ideas through with little regard for supporters, so opposition is pretty pointless).

Also many of us supported Litecoin because it was an alternative to Bitcoin (plenty of us unhappy ages back with the path dev of bitcoin where taking and what bitcoin was becoming), now in rhetoric and in develpment we are seeing Litecoin become essentially a testnet for Bitcoin.

i didn't invest in litecoin to be a testnet for bitcoin, so now i must look elsewhere for a genuine alternative to bitcoin.

as i've said many times in the past; the only thing good to ever come out of Cryptocurrency (including Bitcoin), to this point in history, is, the idea.

355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: January 10, 2017, 11:33:27 PM
hmm, maybe the segwit thing is gonna motivate the r/btc psychos to run to ltc instead plus others who are bored with bitcoin's stalemate. fuck knows why they had such a boner for that eth junk anyway. ltc's been sat waiting for them the whole time.

if i had to abandon bitcoin and move to another coin i can't really think of anything other than ltc. it's strong, secure and honest even if its trading has been staggeringly static for what seems like eternity.

LTC has no merchants.

What is the point in running ti LTC when no casino, no bitcoin service, no mechant is accepting it.

Every single crypto website is bitcoin based, and to some degree ETH.

Good luck reviving LTC, it's already dead, it's just that people dont want to be released from the life support.

come on. LTC is nice to moves funds around. faster than BTC and cheaper.

So does the other 9999999999x altcoins.

with 99.9% (+ 0.1% error) of those other alts being created to make the devs fiat., defeating the whole purpose of p2p currency.

My integrity includes calling you out for what you are. Cry more, angry little man.

just the heads up; when you resort to petty name calling your argument loses all credibility in most peoples eyes., so you're doing yourself no favors.
357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: January 10, 2017, 05:19:35 AM
Attack my words, but not my integrity. Thanks.

Roll Eyes says the one doing the name calling just a few post back, practice what you preach.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: January 08, 2017, 04:18:36 AM
Your personal losses from poor trading decisions with Maxcoin don't amount to a scam.

no but maxcoin being created for the purpose of making Max Keiser fiat, and being left to die after he dumped his (on a pump), does make maxcoin a scam.

You keep saying that, but have yet to name an instance where he scammed. Creating a coin that didn't work out may have been a poorly thought out and executed endeavor, but is not a scam.

see above, and the link i posted, many previous people who have worked with max call him out as a scammer, simple google search you'll find constant behavior like this from him.

yeah you could ride it off as a poorly thought out endeavor by him,...hmmm..well once, but a history of it (well before btc even existed if you do your research), a pattern starts to emerge.

That was not my suggestion. I clearly said you were bitter and now you're trying to convince people to sell or not buy at the bottom simply to punish Max via START, which he doesn't even control. That's going to turn out to be very bad advice. Shame on you for letting your personal vendetta against an entirely different coin cost inexperienced traders money.

Time to accept responsibility for your own decisions and stop trying to punish START investors and Startjoin supporters for your mistakes.

read into it whatever you want, i can't do much about your imagination, but i've not been giving anyone trading advice on startcoin (unlike the guy who keeps yelling bottom  Wink ), the only advice i've given is to DYOR on the clown behind Startcoin.

people here are smart enough to make up their own minds and make their own trading decisions. doesn't hurt to give them information. but see you seem to be scared of anyone giving holders any information you don't personally want them to hear, because you are heavily invested and currently caught in a loss  Shocked

personally i'm not invested, so for myself don't care, but for others here, i can say with complete honesty i hope eveyone does well off startcoin, i hope my post/opinion wakes Max up to do the right thing so such a coin can be a win win, rather then a win for him and a loss for investors. if he followed through he could even do better if he had half a brain (and wasn't just a mouth).......but thats a salesperson for you.

360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: January 03, 2017, 03:54:10 AM
Because no one cares that you made bad trading decision and are bitter enough to concern troll this thread on a daily basis, regurgitating intellectually dishonest FUD in an attempt to punish START and START holders for shit they had nothing to do with. The only scam here is you trying to convince noobs to sell at the bottom, thereby only managing to punish the people who trust you. You're scum. Get lost.

i rebounded fine from the slight loss i took in maxcoin (via ftc which got a crazy pump after i bought with the funds from bailing from maxcoin, so i was kinda happy with the timing of the bittrex delisting warning), so no personal bitterness here.

i am concerned for this community of repeat crypto scam offenders by which Max Keiser most certainly is, 2 minutes of research would uncover that.

now you've been caught on the wrong side of the trade, you'r losing in StartCoin...,no?  and will defend it to the death in order to get your money back, but some of us traders aren't like that, we call it how it is whether in means taking a loss or not.

this is more then about personal profit or loss, i think p2p currency have hue potential to change society for the better, but scams that tarnish crypto hurt the efforts to have this potential realised.

as for you suggestion of me wanting to buy Startcoin at a low and FUDing to do so, yet in the same paragraph you say I am bitter for a bad trading decision in Max's preveiois coin  Huh sorry why would i follow one bad investment with the next by the same scammer  Huh
