if members of the forum legitimately wanted alternatives to succeed, they'd back the leading alternative, instead of attacking it and spreading FUD to promote some shitcoin.

hell the market spoke long ago and continues to do so, just not much of the bitcointalk crowd ever bothers listening, too busy trying to get on the back of the next 'innovative' to sell snake oil get rich quick scheme.
1183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum IPO reboot coming, time to get nervous about the future of crypto on: August 06, 2015, 06:32:12 AM
why would there be anything to worry about in the future of crypto over anything related to ethereum?

ethereum as future of cryptos goes is irrelevant.
1184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The legends of bitcointalk should make our own altcoin together, thoughts? on: August 05, 2015, 12:50:58 PM
another issue is the focus on ROI rather then the real reasons for alternative currencies.
1185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The legends of bitcointalk should make our own altcoin together, thoughts? on: August 05, 2015, 12:47:00 PM
I think one of the things holding back so many long-termers getting together is the fact that all the ones really capable are already working on different Coins and do not want to abandon their own projects or create new projects in which would further dilute the investment base.

^^^ This and also probably that there are enough coins already. Let's start making some of the good ones great, and quit making new coins.

agree with microguy on this, there's a ton of older established coins with honest hard working devs and good but small communities around them, if we concentrate our efforts on these instead of just pumping out new coins, the community as a whole would be better off.

seriously the crypto community has its share of problems, but lack of coins certainly ain't one of them, so lets concentrate our efforts on problems we have.

I agree with this. It would be good for the Cryptoworld to work together and get more new people in.
Don't fight but help eachother will give the Cryptoworld more positive attention.

I've been on the losing end of that fence for over a year now. It's fairly stressful trying to rally people in multiple communities to come together for the greater good.

however your problem is you've mainly been inviting (admittedly sometimes unwittingly) the communities biggest scamers to the table., sorry to break that to you but tis the truth of it.

n tba very few clean devs around these parts.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Idea for how to kill the sh*t/clone/scamcoin industry on: August 05, 2015, 12:27:06 PM
We can create petition and ask top exchanges to stop listing scams without doing proper research and if scam gets listed it should provide an option to report it to proper authority (with proof offcourse) so they can investigate.

Scams go away when they have nowhere to get listed.

LOL! Thanks mate! This joke of yours made my day Smiley.

Do you really seriously think that the exchanges going to refuse to take a nice profit on these coins? In addition there are some rumours about some "top exchanges" what maybe the real driving force behind some of these coins...

well its more then just rumour, doesn't take much investigation behind the scene to know many of the top exchanges are behind many of the scamcoins.

yeah a solution to the shitcoin/scamcoin issues would be to have exchanges not list them. but many coins pay to list plus exchanges profit from pump n dump scamcoins  Sad
1187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Okay, we all had our fun. It is time to stop this. on: August 05, 2015, 04:16:42 AM
The whole point of cryptocurrency was it was supposed to be able to help the poor and middle class move money without having to pay ridiculous taxes and transfer fees.

Litecoin - cpu based and first major scrypt coin.

~BCX~

litecoin was invented as a break from and improvement on all alts before it, ie not to repeat previous crypto mistakes, cpu based as to not compete against btc mining.

(btw adding to ur points not debating them BCX as i know u know ur stuff)

so far in my opinion the most potential out of all cryptos todate.

As some one who was actually a very big part of the very first altcoin and many of the followers, that is not why they were developed.

OK fine, its why bitcoin was invented. And it was certainly a potential selling point, but its not any more.

yes, peer to peer currencies (and btc wasn't the first), are designed simply to leave out the greedy none productive middleperson, money changes etc btc itself also to aid micro-transactions.

something completely lost to the current bitcoin developers

now their are tons of 'money changes' in crypto.....taking their cut no different from fiat.

as for helping the poor, well no matter what your poison when it comes to currency those rich in fiat will always be those rich in the new currency.

most the 'crypto' crowd these days is the 'get rich quick crowd'

God jesus. When will you people look things up..

now

There are individuals receiving 100,000 to 300,000

Yeah, these guys are going to be filthy rich selling their Ether to the people around the world, and why shouldn't they be.  Satoshi is almost a billionaire, and everyone is cool with that:

http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/25806/how-many-coins-does-satoshi-have

You paid Satoshi for his hard work, why not pay him too:

yes satoshi deserved his billion dollar cut for showing us all there's an alternative to the greedy bankers who take their billion dollar cut   Huh
1193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: iGotSpots Scam Dev on: August 04, 2015, 06:41:32 AM
rename the thread "played my hand poorly so i'll blame the dealer"  Kiss
1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum SCAM Warning! Moderating of ethereum.org for any negative feedback. on: August 04, 2015, 03:43:12 AM
is the IQ of this community so low that we need threads to state the obvious  Shocked

1196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The legends of bitcointalk should make our own altcoin together, thoughts? on: August 03, 2015, 12:31:58 PM
personally i am against creating a new coin (as previously stated).

however i'm not against the idea of legends and hero group reviving a dead coin,. well thats more a win win., even help a few people that have been burnt rather then buring more pumping out new coins.

a cool coin to revive (ok tis not exactly dead), but is a good harmless fun coin that would suit the characters that often make up the legendary/hero pool of people around here; doubloons pirate currency Wink

Why ? So a new crop of bag holders can be had ?

You craptsy schmucks are pathetic.

I dont know what the hell cryptsy did to piss you off so much. But I do find it odd you think some our biggest protestors are our fans

Looking through your feedback history you label 3 people who are generally anti cryptsy as cryptsy shills  Roll Eyes

Whatever it is likely isnt worth trying to correct as you seem pretty set in your ways. If I had to guess your either spoetnik or BBmodBB

And for the record. Kelsey has been a user of cryptsy for a long time. But generally thinks every decision we make is wrong lol

well i've been openly critical of cryptsy on many an occasion, but don't take that personally  Wink guess i'm more vocal when i am not in favor of something then when i am.

hippie tech is not spoetnik, spoetnik is a friend of mine and would not infer that i'm a cryptsy shill.

1197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Halving and Valuation Survey on: August 03, 2015, 12:25:01 PM
Litecoin will hit $15 or $20 just before the halving. that is my prediction. and i am no newbie. I've seen a lot of crazy things like Aurora Coin pumped to $100 in 2 -3 days. So $15 - $20 for Litecoin is absolutely doable.

To keep LTC between $15-20 buyers should keep pouring 400-600K USD into LTC every day, just for maintaining the price. After the halving such a pump would be much cheaper, so the profit would be much higher.

why? thats assuming every coin mined is immediatley sold.

anyone else been doing staking experiments?

whats the smallest amount (total wallet) people have had successfully stake?

Theoretically, very large inputs will pay off well, too, and use the coinage scaling in addition to just the block scale

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T61E-TMsZhs

looking at how tis all been setup, i quickly theoretically know how to best stake, and set a wallet up as such, now i'm experimenting in other wallets to see if how i setup in my main wallet is best in reality...... Cool

Probably the tips that are in the top of the wallet are your strategy  Wink

with a twist though as it would be a pain sending a zillion small transactions (to build enough for a decent total weight).

Generate a bunch of addresses and use sendmany, or just spam sendtoaddress in the Qt, that's how I do it if I'm lazy

yes i know, but there is method to my madness doing it manually  Shocked
