1161  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: (Almost sure)brainwallet.org stole 22BTC from me on: August 09, 2015, 12:36:34 AM
It is far to unsafe to store any real wealth in for the average person.

I'm an average person. I've been using Bitcoin for over 4 years now. I've never lost a single coin.

All it takes is some responsibility. I learned enough (common sense really) to realize that private keys were the "key" to security.

Average Joe wont do that  Undecided.

Like it or not, we will have bitcoin banks (we already have Coinbase etc but that is just the beginning.)

then that pretty much is full circle and defeats the whole purpose of alt to fiat currencies.

the upside to cryptos is they put you in control of your money.

the downside to cryptos is they put you in control of your money  Shocked

simple rule don't put anyone else in control of you cryptos Wink otherwise ur better off sticking to fiat.
1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum poised to overtake Litecoin in market cap soon on: August 08, 2015, 12:52:50 PM
Eth bagholders are getting anxious.

ICO coins have dumped fast and hard in recent history.  Best be fast on the trigger when trading commences.

Your FUD is extraordinary.  ETH has been traded for over a day on several exchanges. It's at about $3/ 0.01btc

Unlike you, and whatever shitcoin you are bitterly bagholding. A couple of bitcointalk posts aren't going to make or break the Ethereum blockchain.  This is truly big.  It's the biggest thing to happen since Bitcoin.

now few hours later $1:38 n fallin  Roll Eyes

Wow dude, you're off to a great start on this forum, three posts which all consist of calling everyone 'fucking losers'

What's troubling you in real life, that's making you lash out against randoms on the internet?

He's probably drunk because he's celebrating the fact that his ether presale wallet increased in value 10 times over.

you mean fiat price? for someone who's been around as long as you claim yet don't even understand the difference between price n value Huh
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum poised to overtake Litecoin in market cap soon on: August 08, 2015, 03:20:56 AM
It will overtake litecoin tomorrow.  Ethereum is not a copy paste shitcoin.  Trolls here will regret not recognising that.

yes and we are going to get flooded with a zillion n 1 newbie accounts

Ive been lurking bitcointalk since before you even knew Bitcoin existed.

money talks and bullshit walks at the end of the day.  Tomorrow ETH will be 3rd highest market cap after 2 days of trading. Then there will only be stagnant ripple standing in the way for number 2 spot.

sorry i always assume alt currencies was about fiat doing the walking  Wink

but if u guys continually pump based on the fiat price then ur doing ur coin no favors in claiming its a genuine crypto...but thats lost on you.
1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 08, 2015, 03:02:49 AM

1171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Rich List Whale Watching (One Percenters) on: August 07, 2015, 02:04:05 PM

Your richest Altcoin holders are going to be early Litecoin miners.

Coblee
Goat
Smoothie
Artforz

I can't really think of any others that might hold vast amounts of alt coins.

na think they blew it on lambos n the like  Shocked

i think traders quickly replaces miners as the largest holders in most alts.
1172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The legends of bitcointalk should make our own altcoin together, thoughts? on: August 07, 2015, 09:58:02 AM
problem is around here, everyone's carried away with all this innovation nonsense, i guess that comes with the nerdy territory. however there is very very little understanding of even the most basic economic models.

you ask the average tool what gives fiat its value, they prattle on about gov and guns etc...without the slightest understanding.

then you get the tin hat crowd with their fractional reserve leading fiat creation debt money dribble  Shocked

ask how bitcoin gets it price and u'll get a commodity tends to be priced towards the cost of production equal absolute bs dribble.

i can absolutely say without reservation that any community that even slightly believes in any of the above has less the ZERO chance of creating a usable currency.

so disconnected from reality despite your self-gratifying erroneous believe that you have some amazing insight (because u watch a few youtube videos) above the average joe's.

then the rest of the crowds is here simply for the fiat; well atleast that makes sense.

but whats missing is the real opportunity to create something of value, like i say often, the only thing good to ever come out of crypto todate is the; idea.

the best innovation, won't be all the bs bells and whistle everyones trying to sell here, but something that makes it all simple.
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The legends of bitcointalk should make our own altcoin together, thoughts? on: August 07, 2015, 09:38:50 AM
If you are talking about Mr Garza, he was the one who asked me to a debate after standing up for what I thought was right. After telling him im more than happy to "debate" him, he ran with his tail between his legs.

Also really? Out of all the stuff I do you pick that one? lol

not at all, i dont have any direct knowledge of Mr Garza's actions, only hearsay, and around here i take that with a grain of salt, and i can assure you there are way worse going ons around these parts.

1174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Super Genius vs Several super smart devs. on: August 07, 2015, 01:36:48 AM
yet to meet a person in the crypto community that could be considered genius level, and yet to see a name dropped in this thread that could be considered smart, let alone genius, let alone super genius  Roll Eyes

in fact the average level of intelligence in this community is alarming (guess it comes with the territory; greed, internets, tin hats etc).

but to the OP intended question;

"too many cooks spoil the broth"
1175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When bitcoin allows side chains would anyone still use an alt currency ? on: August 07, 2015, 12:35:19 AM
the question now should be with p2p alts of various flavors is their any need for bitcoin?

seems a bit animal farmish the whole bitcoin thing now  Lips sealed

1176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum IPO reboot coming, time to get nervous about the future of crypto on: August 07, 2015, 12:07:48 AM
ETH is currently the 3rd largest crowdsourced projected ever developed, raising over $18 million, and they still need more money, to work on something that hasn't been released as a working version after over 1.5 years of talk and promises???

1177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum IPO reboot coming, time to get nervous about the future of crypto on: August 06, 2015, 01:52:29 PM
The released some source code. It's pretty exciting.

However they're out of money now... so I have no idea what the next step is. I'm more interested in seeing the new ethereum clones coming out. I think it'll be the new altcoin thing. No more bitcoin clones, only ethereum clones.

They released a command line based wallet that lacks a large amount of the promised functionality. If they can't make any more money fast then development stops. They call the advanced wallet they have promised serenity. It's not clear yet if they can afford to keep developing until it's completed.

Hey vbuterin. Just curious, do you think there is enough funding to get to serenity? That's my only concern. If there is, I really wouldn't care how much you get paid.

Depends entirely on the ether price. At the optimistic 1 ETH = $1.5 value that others have been throwing around, there is more than enough; at 1 ETH = $0.1, no.

oh the irony of crypto development needing fiat   Undecided
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin improvements in the future on: August 06, 2015, 01:36:32 PM
1. Doge originally had a limit, but it was decided this was to be removed to encourage mining

2. Absolutely retarded, would most like cause to the price to sink like a stone.

hmm ur own number 2) is a good analysis of ur own point 1)  Wink
1179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Australia takes first step toward Bitcoin as currency on: August 06, 2015, 01:05:11 PM
Just a note from someone living in Germany where Bitcoin is treated as a currency. Any trading of the currency requires that you register as a foreign exchange dealer. Bitcoin is severely suppressed in Germany due to its classification as a currency.

yes, i don't think people get it the Aus gov classifies things more to their benefit not to that of the likes of bitcoin.

anyways the whole point of p2p currency is to be indifferent to gov.......just sayin  Kiss

if members of the forum legitimately wanted alternatives to succeed, they'd back the leading alternative, instead of attacking it and spreading FUD to promote some shitcoin.

hell the market spoke long ago and continues to do so, just not much of the bitcointalk crowd ever bothers listening, too busy trying to get on the back of the next 'innovative' to sell snake oil get rich quick scheme.

What is the leading alternative? Litecoin?

yes (i didn't say as i don't want this thread to turn into another plug ur alt coin thread)
