i for one welcome our new NSA overlords  Lips sealed
1062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT has code which downloads your IP address to facilitate blacklisting on: August 19, 2015, 09:44:54 AM
Looks like XT is a piece of shady bullshit. What will be in the next version ? Direct reporting to NSA ?

confirmed, totally shady.

I have had my suspicions about Gavin for a long time, CIA visit (no transcript), CFR talk, the CA/TLS payment protocol privacy leak but this is damning if he wants to sign off on this shit. And the way the XT panopticoin fork is being pitched reads like a bad infomercial.

Never trust an Aussie, Gavin, you just made it onto my blacklist (and it is quite short).

hey us aussie's are OK Smiley

you mean never trust an aussie that moves to the USA n works with the NSA, CIA etc
1063  Economy / Speculation / Re: why bitcoin is dumped so hard? on: August 19, 2015, 09:35:27 AM
i don't think its been dumped hard...............yet  Shocked

seriously though i don't think the dump was about the fork debate/war but more someone or group, trying to panic the market for quick profits, as it was triggered too instantly.
1064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC calm before the storm ? on: August 19, 2015, 09:19:21 AM
I accidentally bought LTC from 3.60$. I don't want to hold for a long time. Where to sell these? 4$? 4.50$?

this threads not about giving individual investment advice, sure your big enough and ugly enough to make these decisions yourself Wink

Sure, but I don't believe any storm will happen anymore. At least I lost my belief to see a pump before block halving. I asked an exit point from your point of view.

i'm not in the game for fiat profit but from my point of view, from a curious observes view, i think we'll see a ltc pump this weekend, having said that bitcoin itself is looking in trouble (v USD) so that could affect how effective any crypto pump is at this time.

i alteast see ltc improving v btc in the shortterm.

1066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GoldCoin™ (GLD) Thread - The Gold Standard of Digital Currency [OFFICIAL THREAD] on: August 19, 2015, 02:46:37 AM

I dunno if C-Cex is even worth it.  You can easily buy yourself on it with a BTC or two.

They don't seem to be that trustworthy though, IMO.

This coin does not deserve to be tainted by C-Cex. That place is messed up and is basically an troll house and an ICO pit.

I know this as I'm in the troll box on a daily basis.

Only ever around 30 people logged in.

If you do want to get on there, try and get community votes as you'll end up paying the btc then either pick you at random or screw up the voting winner ( happened on a few occasions )

All this being said, the Trolls in the troll box are first class Smiley

and thats different to cryptsy, how ?
1067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT has code which downloads your IP address to facilitate blacklisting on: August 19, 2015, 01:51:46 AM
yes more control is always gained under the disguise of protectionism  Lips sealed
1068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Moving into LTC until XT issue is resolved? As a safe haven? on: August 19, 2015, 12:45:17 AM
probably not the best section to post this.

but yeah ltc probably the safest haven til this all blows over.

btc flash crash now  Shocked.....this could get interesting  Grin
1071  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price FLASH CRASH! on: August 19, 2015, 12:26:13 AM
If you had a Bitfinex account and a Coinbase account, you couldve made some easy money.  Coinbase went under $200 for a split second but Bitfinex stayed under $200 for 10 minutes, hitting $162.

The spread was huge for those 5 minutes  Shocked
They require confirmations, wouldn't be possible to arbitrage.

tell me about it Sad

but you can kinda do it if you set a spread up across exchanges ready for such events.

but yeah ton of arbitrage ops present themselves purely because arbitrage is so difficult to do in crypto trading.
1072  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price FLASH CRASH! on: August 19, 2015, 12:17:22 AM
This is the once in a lifetime apportunity I just can't believe everybody goes apeshit and buys like hell.
Just watch the reactions tommorow of people who feel sick they were asleep.

ever heard the term dead cat bounce?

quick profit maybe but fool to go longish atm
1073  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price FLASH CRASH! on: August 19, 2015, 12:15:36 AM
I wish the Winklevoss twins would make a statement about this to calm stuff down.   Undecided
Yes of course, The Winkies.... explain why them making a statement would calm this down.

I have more faith in them then anyone with Bitcoin.  They have over $1 billion in BTC and worked their asses off in getting their Gemini through U.S. regulations to launch.  They literally are putting everything behind BTC.  Most of these other experts don't have much skin in the game.

actually agree, the biggest experts in crypto on this board are often ignorant to the opinion of the big money.
1074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it just me or is everyone else sick of the block size debate? on: August 18, 2015, 11:37:38 PM

It's actually fun to watch this. There's always talk about a fork etc, but it's fun to see one happening.
And fwiw, it's not going to cause any damage.

sure it won't  Roll Eyes

1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No less than 250 Bitcoin XT nodes are virtual servers, likely free trials on: August 18, 2015, 11:32:25 PM

Ever heard the phrase "permissionless innovation"?  The only way that the network is changing is if the majority wants it to.

What you see as a takeover I see as free market principles at work.  No one can take over Bitcoin unless everyone agrees to it.

gotta love the naivety
1077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now that we know most XT nodes are fake, what are the implications? on: August 18, 2015, 11:01:06 PM
don't see a reason to defend, even the pro xt side should be looking down on this kinda thing, if the battles won with plays like this.......every side loses.

think about it
1078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No less than 250 Bitcoin XT nodes are virtual servers, likely free trials on: August 18, 2015, 10:45:51 PM
I undertook the painstaking effort of seeing how many virtual servers/cloud servers were being used as nodes for Bitcoin XT, since the node # rose alot the past few days. No less than 250 nodes are virtual servers from Amazon, Microsoft, Digital Ocean, etc. Seems like almost every company that offers free trials has at least a handful of Bitcoin XT servers. There might be quite a bit more since I didn't have time to research all the different companies.

So 40+ % of Bitcoin XT nodes are definitely virtual servers, they're trying to inflate their numbers to appear credible. Free virtual servers have little power so they're obviously not mining, and won't help Bitcoin XT gain ability to take over the network. The only thing they do is create an illusion.

more then a happy coincidence one would say. replies can twist all they want tis obvious someones faking.
1079  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC calm before the storm ? on: August 18, 2015, 02:09:53 PM
The halving is already priced in ?

well if fundamentals are what drives prices around this place, that could be the case, but i doubt they do, i get the feeling block-halving will be merely the excuse to trigger a pump.
1080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC calm before the storm ? on: August 18, 2015, 02:02:41 PM
not sure thats totally true eg last significant rises v fiat also where big rises v btc. though new extreme highs v fiat may need a bitcoin rise to i concur.
