Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: How to measure it?

A wise man told me that to value your creation in terms of a corrupted man made system is foolish. It would be better to price your asset in terms of something uncorrupted.
With that being said (as of this writing):
1/10 Oz American Gold Eagle Coin = ฿0.534684 1/4 Oz American Gold Eagle Coin = ฿1.310352 1/2 Oz American Gold Eagle Coin = ฿2.547269 1 Oz American Gold Eagle Coin = ฿4.970719
Gold shines and paper is dull.
To think of the price in terms of something that is dull is to think with the brain.
To think of the price in terms of something that shines is to think with the heart.
The goal is to go 1:1.
Remember this.
lol n u think the gold market aint corrupt lmao

Life in Prison as to being worse than death, it really depends on his mind set. On one hand, he's still alive, but not free. After a term of institutionalization, it becomes an everyday way of life
I'm sure you could get used to the routine after a while. Wake up and eat then suck a few cocks. Be bored your cage for a few hours. Have lunch then suck a few cocks with a side of ass rape. Go to the yard for a while and get the shit beat out of you then suck a few cocks. Be bored in your cage a few hours. Eat dinner then get raped in the shower. Be bored in your cage for a few hours. Cry yourself to sleep bleeding and sore. Dream about killing yourself. How is that any different than having to read bitcointalk? i worry about who's teaching you to read

hazard actually agree with your article mostly and thanks for painting a clear picture for the noobs.
(note though the satoshi email was most certainly a fake, hell same email few times around even tried to fake satoshi's sig so kinda dead giveaway).
for the record i'm very anti bitcoinxt, though i'm not a huge proponent of bitcoin itself just to be 100% honest, huge fan of a proper p2p currency just aint seen one todate.

I'm busy chucking all of my BTC stash (such as it is ) overboard.......if the current BTC vs XT debate was happening in any other crypto, we'd be predicting total disaster. Just because it's BTC doesn't mean that it can't fail, or that it won't tank again in the short term. Any way I look at it, right now my BTC are better off being NXT, LTC, ETH or even Bitmark...... IF BTC fails all crypto fails. Nobody is going to have faith in another alt if the first crypocurrency died. Best case would be a small niche of users but nothing even close to mainstream. Nobody is going to invest real money in crypto if BTC fails. alt (to fiat) currency's have failed long before btc come along, and btc still got running. if btc failed yeah it'd be a big blow to p2p currencies, but people especially investors have short memories (otherwise the stockmarkets would never recover).

Litecoin is not a "haven" for anything.
If you want to get out of Bitcoin, buy dollars or euros.
Yeah what a good idea, only a guarantee 2% loss every compounding every year on the USD and limit supply isn't a thing. I think I would prefer Gold or Silver than USD or Euro even with silver going down a bit. well if i was worried about the USD and Euro, i'd be going bags of wheat rice etc though we're talking bitcoin, if it was to fail tomorrow, the sun will still be rising pretty fine each morning.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT has code which downloads your IP address to facilitate blacklisting
|
on: August 19, 2015, 01:14:10 PM

i cant beleive it, if this is true XT loose all my respect, freedom and privacy and our flag and they destroy it.
i will wait for a reply from the XT core devs and watch this thread carefully, but if finally we discover that this is true.... well maybe this is a good news so we can concentrate our efforts on what is needed, THE ORIGINAL BITCOIN.
Whats your question? The thread above was based on a flawedpremise to start with, but the substantive issue of IP Prioritization has been answered - its configurable by those running a node to be either on or disabled. Bitcoin core still exists, so no need for extra concentration there. This is simply a poll to let nodes/miners make a choice as to whether they want to increase limits now or wait for consensus ( that doesnt look like happening) If bitcoinxt achieves majority, it will be the one everyone continues with. If it fails to achieve the numbers required, it will become obsolete. Are you ignoring stuff there for a reason? If the XT altcoin became a defacto (which it wont) then people would be accepting a whole list of changes - not just the time controlled block size increases. ... and I don't see any direct mention of IP blacklists on the XT fud web page. Although fungibility may mean nothing to you, it's a pretty important factor to me as I have brought up on the forum a few times over the years. blacklists in there mean I wont support it what about this; "The Bitcoin Core project has shown it cannot reform and so it must be abandoned." Mike Hearn no one could honestly with even half a brain not see that none of this is actually about blocksize, thats the distraction.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how did you fools let Mike Hearn in?
|
on: August 19, 2015, 12:37:07 PM

Well he's here pretty much from the beginning. Nobody let him in, he has join by himself. Isn't this the point of decentralized and open source system, anybody can join and quit whenever they feel so!
can they really? the code in reality is controlled by so few (with a love it or leave it attitude). like with most things bitcoin; reality is far removed from the theory of it. Well if the reality is really like that, then the Bitcoin is headed in the wrong direction. Satoshi definitely hasn't envisioned this kind of centralization for Bitcoin. "The Bitcoin Core project has shown it cannot reform and so it must be abandoned." Mike Hearn showing his true colours and what he's really trying to do; ol divide and conquer 101

"The end of Bitcoin" You should Google Bitcoin obituaries. Bitcoin has been extremely resilient in the face of adversity. that's why they are not killing it directly. but heading for a centralised, regulated watered down version of the original bitcoin "The Bitcoin Core project has shown it cannot reform and so it must be abandoned." Mike Hearn thats what he really wants, full control.
