9261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "If" Bitcoin as scam on: June 22, 2016, 06:57:48 AM
If bitcoin was or will be a scam. Then i can provably say that it would be the biggest scam of century.Since bitcoins now have market value.of $11Billion.Thats huge

That's true but we all know that bitcoin is not a scam, its a genuine way to earn money and make some investment into it and if it would be scam it would not have survived this long.

I think the bitcoin was not created to make the creator rich. Even though he owns 1 million coins, he has not used it.

The Bitcoin is not a scam or it is built intentionally as a scam. It has bee proved in the last 7 years of its existence.
9263  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back to the 300s we go. on: May 26, 2016, 11:35:59 AM
Helll no, we are going back to 500 soon. The buy pressure is way too strong. It's safe to say now that OP was extremely wrong in this prediction. We are heading towards a new ATH, that will happen this year, I don't see how we even have to wait for 2016 anymore. This year is looking fantastic to break that 1k barrier again.

I think the price will not go below $300. The price will have big chance to go to $500 than to $400.
9264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Miner Power/Profit test on: May 19, 2016, 06:17:41 PM
Nice Info,

I have 4x XFX R9 390's and I had to undervolt and underclock them to keep their temps below 72C with just ETH mining. I don't have decred enabled.

I have them each configured independently but in total they run about 102MH with Claymores miner.... not sure how much power they are drawing but at stock speeds/volts I was seeing temps well into the 80C+ range with an ambient temp of 23-24.5C (74-76F) and I was getting about 115ish MH.

For my money its better to undervolt and underclock to keep the temps down and save a ton of power/heat.

How do you do the undervoltage? Do you use MSI afterburner or the GPU mod programme such as OP mentioned?
9265  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyone ever worked out the Electricity Cost alone of Bitcoin Mining??? on: May 06, 2016, 07:23:18 AM
Hi,

I live in Sweden in a house heated by electricity, and that was why I started mining. I have to purchase electricity even if I'm mining or not. In this way, electricity is free for me and I get back bitcoin. The large part of Swedish electricity is from renewable sources.

So I do not think I affect climate. I use electricity to two things at once.  Cheesy
And in the summer, I have solar panels that generate free electricity to all miners. Wink

-snip-
Wow lucky. With free electricity, it's almost like you are getting 100% profit since most of the expense of mining is electricity and internet. Not everyone (of course)  has the same opportunity as you.

That is not free electricity. He has to pay for it. I think heating is not required in Summer. So that can be regarded as a cost.

You may remove the driver completely using something like DDU Display Driver Uninstaller. Then reinstall.

Convert that into CO2-emissions and other environmental damage, and dollar for dollar you end up the same as mining for gold.

But the conventional banking system would use more electricity to run their business. They waste more energy.
9268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin drops $60 on: March 06, 2016, 01:15:52 PM
To drop on 60 not gonna happen it can from now only go up not down in price

The bitcoin price will not drop to $60 in the future. It is too low. But it will drop/rise easily by $60 every day in 10 years.
9269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin drops $60 on: February 23, 2016, 06:09:13 PM
yup, it's because of dump, but after every dump comes pump, so don't be afraid, it will rise

That $60 drop was due to the last two bad news that happens, and after a month I think it is now fully recovered and starting to move to where its price should be at this time..  Smiley

So why did the price drop from $450 to $410 now?
9270  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows - Trade Safely! on: February 10, 2016, 12:32:25 PM
This is a question to other escrows, regarding the risks of being escrow while an intentional fork is happening.

What are your thoughts about?

Use Core.  Don't intermingle your coins with coins held in escrow.

That is the determination of someone who believes firmly in core. Though there is the possibility that miners chose to support a bitcoin client that creates 2 mb blocks. Which could turn into a mess when you still run core and suddenly your coins become worthless because a fork wins the majority and the old chains coins lose their value.

I'm really not ready to take such a risk. I mean it would be my error, at least if the users are not fully aware of me using a certain chain, and in worst case i had to refund a lot of bitcoins.

If you don't move the coin(s) during the fork, you will not lose nothing ...

You might double your coins after the fork. You can send one coins to the receiver and hold the other one.

Thank stupid miners and small-blockers for this crash. God knows what's the bottom but it can be even in low 200s. Mike Hearn did the right thing. It's wake up call for miners or else Bitcoin will die and get replaced by Ethereum probably.

The miners are supporting the 2MB block size increase. That will be implemented in the next few months. So the price will recover.

Putin's new internet advisor: Tech innovation is the “new oil”
German Klimenko was appointed Advisor on the Internet to the President of Russia on 4 January. In his first interview for the Russian media he expressed a positive view on the new internet technologies and their integration with the country’s economics and financial system.

It is much better than oil. It is not subject to maniac actions by Middle Eastern monarchs.
But this guy seems to be pushing for increased adoption of electronic rouble. That won't help much.

The electronic rouble will devalue year after year. So it does not help the Russian economy at all.

All fiat currencies will end up losing their value year after year. Being digital doesn't matter that much in this case.

If Russia adopts bitcoin into its recognised currency and encourage its usage, Russian economy will grow quickly.
