1101  Economy / Speculation / Re: Korea bans Bitcoin derivatives~ OUCH! on: December 17, 2017, 10:14:46 PM
It doesn't really matter. If institutions and other related entities will want to bank on Bitcoin, they have to buy Bitcoin directly instead of Bitcoin tied instruments that have more to do with gambling than with actual investing. I see it as something that potentially can work out in our advantage. Now all parties there basically are forced to buy and own Bitcoin, instread of buying a worthless instrument where no coins are involved in at all, which will help take even more coins out of circulation. South Korea itself is a bomb already, where they are constantly leading this market by miles, so people shouldn't be upset about this. I appreciate all the growth that this market experienced due to South Korea, and I'm sure will continue to enjoy it for plenty of more years.

I agree with this and I also am very thankful for what these korean markets have brought to crypto. It's crazy the amount of volume and premiums they have been paying for some of these coins. I only hope that they get more coins listed on their exchanges soon....for my bags sake  Tongue

But I think its kind of like the futures that were recently introduced, didn't really have a huge effect on the price right? Just seemed to make crypto more legitimate. People appreciate the digital scarcity of the coins and just like you said its somewhat like gambling when you tie it to an instrument.
1102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: December 17, 2017, 10:10:09 PM
As long as APIcoin scammer Johnson is chairman of anything inside this project Factom will only go down.
What's wrong with Johnson? Why did you call him a scammer? I would like to know more about him.

Easy to call somebody a scammer with no proof at all. Explain why he is a scammer? If this is true a lot of people will be thankful.

God forbid any crypto developer work on one coin and then move on to another. Crypto investors are notorious for being salty about any coin they lost money on so the follow and fud the developers as if they are responsible for peoples losses.

Some of the most talented developers in crypto have worked on many different projects, look at the developer of EOS, same guy from bitshares....

1103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in EOS on: December 16, 2017, 06:27:27 PM
The developer is good and I have seen a lot of discussion of other projects building on EOS, but honestly its astonishing how much money can flow into a project that doesnt even have a working product yet.

Understand that these markets are more driven by hype and speculation right now rather than fundamentals and tech, ethereum didnt really skyrocket untill alot of developers started building on there platform ya know?

Take a look at the chart though, doesnt look like the best time to enter, but its crypto so you never know. Good luck

1105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: best altcoins to invest for 2018 ? on: December 16, 2017, 06:17:12 PM
Just take $100 and put $10 each in 10 of the lowest priced altcoins.  It's like throwing darts.  No one knows what one is going to pop next so spread your bets with a lot of small stakes where you can get a lot of coins for the money.  And hey, it's only $100 .
You said invest on the lowest price altcoins. What about the coin you have invested are actually failed altcoins and never have any chance to go back again like scam coins. I'd rather to stick on most popular altcoin than trying my luck on those coins.

You could do this but why put small amounts in alot of coins when you could put larger amounts in maybe 2-4 coins? You want to have a lot of a coin when it goes 10x not pennies...but thats just me.

I agree you could be throwing darts and probably make ROI, the altcoin market is so different now then it was in 2014 2015. This bull market could really just be getting started, seems like everyday there is 10 billion or more flooding into these markets.

Don't narrow your interest in just the top 20 coins, there are hidden gems in the top 200 still. Broaden your investment range.
1106  Economy / Speculation / Re: When bitcoin bubble burst? on: December 16, 2017, 06:13:44 PM
After bitcoin went to 1200 in 2013 it went on a 2 year bear trend, but this time is different. There is so much coverage and interest that I cant imagine another 2 year bear market.

Bitcoin has reached a critical threshold and I believe the corrections and dips will be mild compared to years ago.

Think of it this way, facebook had an uptrend of 7 years....dont you think that this bitcoin crypto stuff is a little more important than crypto?

If you are a strong holder what the price does in 1 year shouldnt effect you. I think its completely safe to say that the price of bitcoin will be higher than it is now by 2020, the next halving could really send the price skyrocketing. Dont be scared.
1107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: December 15, 2017, 10:09:20 PM
In case anyone missed it there was an AMA (ask me anything) on reddit this morning with 2 members of the factom team. Jason Nadeau and
Jay Smith (new hire) from the sales and marketing team gave some great responses to a range of questions.

Aside from CEO Paul Snow's recent blog post this has been a great step for factom in engaging with the community and sharing some of the companies
progress.

One of the most key pieces of information I think from the AMA was a statemant from Jay in regards to the magnitude of entries we could
theortically expect from one of factom's clients.

Quote from Jay
"Just to give you an idea of the magnitudes we are dealing with. An average mortgage lender does between 300K and 500K loans a year with 100 documents per loan and something like a 1000 points of data. If you do the math, it gets rather impressive, or as we think of it, exciting"

Check out the AMA

1108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: December 15, 2017, 05:32:13 PM
So stratis targets and offers blockchain services to businesses but how is it different than its competitors? It seems to me like
stratis is similar but has subtle differences like the could stratis BaaS stuff.

It seems like there are several projects that are targeting the BaaS market, I am interested how all these projects will compete in the future.
I think its very likely that most will be successful because we may still have no idea the level of impact blockchain tech can have on business.
1109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ¤ DMD Diamond 3.0 | Scarce ¤ Valuable ¤ Secure | PoS 3.0 | Masternodes 65% on: December 14, 2017, 11:22:35 PM
Doge lives on as a community meme coin, not hating on doge but it shows that a community is really the backbone of a coin. You go and look
at these other masternode coins out there now and they struggle with lack of developement and a solid community foundation (some, not all).

The diamond foundation has done a great job keeping diamond scarce and promoting it as a store of value and a scarse digital asset. I think
these are the things that create this psychological feel you speak of.

Lastly just watch the order books of DMD off and on through the weeks, you will find that there is almost ALWAYS more pressure on the buy side
and sometimes hardly any DMD on the sell side. Cool

We're all waiting for the new bot functionality and this guy is teasing lightsaber charts.

pffffffttttt

Don't be so harsh maximil

We are working on the even more awesome leonArdo Bollinger Band Bot which will also be in the next release as promised  Wink

Really looking forward to this, will the update with the bollinger bands cost or is the upgrade free?

I really like this bot and i have found it runs smoothly probably 95% of the time. Very rarely does it crash for me

Have you seen latest Baikalminer Giant-B? 40GH/s LBRY mining.
I'm curious what will happen with coin and the project after this...
https://twitter.com/baikalminer/status/941238917310840832
it is very bad, i hate ASIC

idk, i think in some sense it shows a strong belief in LBRY's survival from big players.
They invested im sure alot of money to make the ASIC happen, no doubt they know LBRY will be here for years to come
PASC, well, thats an interesting algo to add , not sure about that one ;p

Agree with this, big players see the potential in this project....price is at the mercy of speculators though unfortunately and the distribution at the beginning didn't help .

Lots of scam accusations, dunno what to think of this yet,

LBRY can easily change their algo to knock out an ASIC, so not sure why a company would invest $$$ into developing one (especially for a young coin in LBRY or even PASC)

I remember Jeremy talking about how halvings not being implemented in lbry was a big deal, like they really hated the idea of halvings.

Would it be safe to assume that they are very anti asic as well?
1113  Economy / Securities / Re: Show me the way you guys do it. on: December 14, 2017, 11:01:49 PM
When you are first starting out in bitcoin it's really important to have some goals and a strategy before you buy anyting. You should be able to answer the question of whether or not you are investor or a trader or both?

Buying bitcoin and just holding it can be very profitable but buying bitcoin and then trading that bitcoin against altcoins can also be extremely profitable yet risky at the same time.

You could also invest your bitcoin in altcoins that you think will do well and just hold those altcoins, thats what a lot of peopledo. Not everyone is cut out to be a trader and its tough and it takes an emotional toll on people.

Lastly broaden your knowledge of the alt-coin market and different consensus mechanism besides altcoins. POS coins are the future in my opinion and they can be great for passive income.
1114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: December 14, 2017, 04:58:59 AM
Where is your team located btw?

There is no team and there is no location. They can operate it this in their parents basement.

There is no company called bitconnect

=======================================================

BitConnect is a decentralized exchange acting like a credit union and its members participate willingly, maintain order, and security control to collectively share arbitrage and mining returns.

Bitconnect is 100% CENTRALISED. Im not sure what makes you think its decentralised. Everything runs within the power and control of the unknown Bitconnect founders.

Your BTC/BCC and USD values are completely out of your control if they decide to remove your access.

You are right, but so far nobody's complaining that they have not gotten their withdrawal and their account was disable, after more than a year they are still doing what they are doing best, and that is paying their investors at the right time and right amount although this is risky it's profitable but you should invest what you can afford to lose.

Everyone said the same thing on cryptsy, mintpal, mt gox ect...everything was all good and fine until they flipped the switch and no one could get to their coin. It's all good and fine until it stops. Not saying that will be how bitconnect will end up because no on really knows how or if it will ever end.

But history tells us in crypto time and time again that things like these do not last, and thats aside from the lending platform this is just looking at it from a centralized exchange point of view.

If you are looking at this as an opportunity to invest please only invest what you are ready to loose and weigh all options in crypto, you could buy a coin that makes you no return daily but may go up in value 10x....why risk so much for these yields when you could have your money in you're control and still make return just from investing.

Died  Roll Eyes

actually i think damned too ^^ '

It's more like this thread has died, FCT is still very active in slack and on reddit. There has been a new chief marketing officer hired and there are efforts to
create a community testnet of nodes for M2.

I am also amazed at the price in btc, but I feel like its obvious that it has just been overlooked over and over again but has all the stuff to be a top ten coin.
There is just little to no hype or interest in factom at the moment mainly because of the ICO craze followed by bitcoin pumping.
1116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential - December 2017 on: December 13, 2017, 11:28:06 PM
Factom was already called by this investment group, also multicoin capital is very bullish on it. Factom is in my opinion the most undervalued alt coin on the market.

But it wouldnt suprise me if NEO or OMG went 100x, people seem to be crazy about these two....

Masternode coins seem to hold their value more than most coins if you are not into speculating
1117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ¤ DMD Diamond 3.0 | Scarce ¤ Valuable ¤ Secure | PoS 3.0 | Masternodes 65% on: December 12, 2017, 08:34:13 PM
Hi guys, does DMD have anything to do with real diamonds or is it only called Diamond because the coin is scarce and therefore as valuable as a diamond? Im really into precious minerals and would like to obtain some diamonds. Both would be great a real, physical diamond as well as a digital diamond. I have already been collecting precious minerals since I was a kid and got a pretty big collection so far (also some really small diamonds, but none of real value unfortunately).

DMD is a very old coin (Q2 2013)

in the early days the goal they where working on was inspired by the BTC/LTC compare themself with GOLD and SILVER

our slogan back that times was

if bitcoin is gold and litecoin is silver
then diamond is diamond

lot time did pass many coins did appear

litecoin as silver is long gone as saying

what stays is that DMD Diamond

is faster transactions then BTC
12x more tx capacity then BTC
more scarce coins then BTC
more rewarding then BTC

and a united dedicated team behind it
no forks or other bullshit

honest fair dedicated

ok, if we forget technical and blockchain thing, is it just one of xxx shitcoins --- coin just to have one more coin - no any use, no business roadmap etc. I am wrong?

Remember that crypto is still very young, not even 10 years old yet!

Diamond was created in 2013 and has been supported by a strong community over the years, this is what will keep DMD going for 5 more years and this is besides any kind
of future developement or business deals.

A crypto doesnt need a huge business deal to be successful!! Why? Because as long as people are holding/speculating/mining then the coin will live on. Diamond appeals
to crytpo investors who want to grow their wealth over time. DMD offers POS, Masternode, Shared Masternode and Cloud mining, already much more than most masternode coins.

Most newcomers are looking for the next coin to land a microsoft deal when they should really focus on the fundamentals and community surrounding a coin.

Not saying you are a newcomer, no offense meant. Good luck out there
1118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The next x10 coins for 2018 on: December 11, 2017, 10:10:45 PM
BLOCKCAT and VIBE (vibehub.io) - These are true hidden gems!! EASY x10-20 in the next 6months. So unbelievable cheap right now

I agree with you that blockCat is a hidden gem, i dont have any at the moment because i think it will stay stagnant just like alot of other ERC20 tokens.

Everyone is just going to shill their holdings in these threads, that's fine its okay because most of their coins will do well anyways! If you would have blindly thrown darts at coin market cap in 2016 and invested blindly chances are you would have made a nice profit.

It's impossible to know which coin will go 100x because these markets dont seem to follow developement, rather hype. Old coins seem to have an edge over newer ones, dont ask me why my guess is its a community thing.

My picks
Factom
Diamond
Basic Attention Token
Steem
Vericoin

1119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to become a trader on: December 11, 2017, 08:02:24 PM
Trading is different then investing, first you should determine if you are going to trade or invest. Investing is buying and holding for years, trading is simply buying and selling to make a profit regardless or the fundamentals of a coin.

Figure out which coins you like and buy and hold them dont trade them, on the other hand find coins you think will go up in maybe a couple of months and try and trade those.

Stop losses and indicators are something you should become familiar with and remember trading has a lot of emotion involved, dont let your emotions get the best of you. Good luck
1120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Token price fall after ICO on: December 11, 2017, 07:49:31 PM
A lot of the ICOs from this last wave were launched unfairly in my opinion.

Offering presale bonuses for big investors put anyone who bought at the normal ICO price in a position to get slaughtered. I don't think that any coin that had an ICO is a scam but the way these ICOs are run has to stop eventually. Regulators will keep cracking down.  Roll Eyes
